I had the occasion to stop in the WFAC on my way back from a trip out to the panhandle. Having learned a lot from this channel, I wanted to pick up copy of Starting Strength, since it wasn't available in my local bookstore. I knocked on the door, and the lady in this video in the jean-shorts (Carmen, I think is her name?) was kind enough to open the door and sell me a copy that she had in the back.
Having been on the road for some time, I asked to use the restroom. She kindly pointed me to the back corner.
As soon as I finished my business, I turned the toilet paper rolls around in the stalls so they dispensed the wrong way.
Victory being mine, I collected my copy and returned home.
It was a good day.

They should sell those
35 lb plate is because up until the 70's most barbells were sold as a set through a catalog and they'd give you 2 of each size to save on shipping, you could mix plates to come up with different weights; you didn't have 10 of everything like in a modern commercial gym; also gave you a nice taper on the sleeves when you used all of them with most of the weight closest to your hands which is where you want it. Standard plates also had 7.5, 12.5, and 20 lb plates available.
Standard plates had so many sizes - 1.25, 2.5, 5, 7.5, 10, 12.5, 15, 20, 25, 35, 40, 50, 75 and 100. I have at least one set of each in my collection. I have a few standard plates in kg sizes too.
Thanks for the tour. You have got all the essential tools to make your clients strong and probably healthy. Plus no retirded gym bro stupidity allowed in your place. It's a pity for not having the SS gym franchise in my area. Would've sign up for a membership immediately.

Really a good basic gym with a great vibe and community. In fact the single happiest moment in my life was taking a dump in the gym restroom.

SubHertz the Spanish translation is almost done. BTW, the Aasgaard company is approached by people that want to translate the books in their native language. Rip doesn’t pick and choose which one he wants done. It just so happens that other peoples beat Spanish readers to the punch

Hi Rip, I am brand new to lifting but have started doing squats, presses, and bench presses with bands and chains because I have heard Louie Simmons used them. Should I put plates on the bar when I do this? Right now I'm just putting bands and/or chains on with no plates. This is for my beginner dynamic effort days. Thanks!
