Nintendo chose a character for DLC Pack 4 that’s relatively unknown to a lot of gamers in order to keep their audience guessing; so naturally when a highly esteemed Cult Favorite (such as the poster boy for indie games himself) appears in any form in Smash Bros, the collective Internet AND the entire Nintendo community loses their mind.

Gelert I’m not saying the 16 bit Neo Geo was a failure by any means. On the contrary, I’m only saying it’s unknown because SNK was in a niche market.
North America simply did not receive the same exposure to Neo Geo that the rest of the world did. (Europe, United Kingdom, Latin America, etc.) So really it’s no wonder Nintendo fans where I come from (USA), were left a bit puzzled by Terry’s Smash DLC Invite, including me.

The reason why sans isn’t a fighter is because he never looks at his mail, so he didn’t get the invitation
They finally got to the point where they sent Papyrus a letter saying to tell Sans he got in but he was too lazy to go so he just sent his clothes

It's not a joke, the E-shop description of the Sans costume is literally just him saying he was too lazy to come, so he sent his clothes.

I really wanted Sans to have his own character but I'm glad Undertale is getting the recognition it deserves. One of the best games ever made.
