Roger is pretty much the only guy to know and get hyped about literally every announced character because he has played at least something involved with each one, and has also understood all the obscure references (like the japanese Mario rpg commercial music) and knew about unknown assists like sukapon. There’s like 30 new characters in this game. And if u include all the old characters coming back. He almost doubled the amount of fighters from smash 4

I've heard that joining of Sora is the promise between Mr. Sakurai and Mr. Iwata. Mr. Iwata is Former Nintendo president who unfotunately passed away. Mr. Sakurai never gave up and accomplished in the end. that promise gave him big power! Mr. Iwata must be happy for this big joining... I'm also happy, and be proud of being Japanese.
Roger accomplished so many things during Smash Ultimate. He watched and read Hunter X Hunter. He read The Promised Neverland. He started Bleach. He watched the first season of Demon Slayer. He started Solo Leveling. He watched all of Naruto. He witnessed the ending of the Attack on Titan manga. Now he’s doing all these collaborations with One Piece. He got verified on Twitter too! Of course, there were some not so good things that happened too, like the 2019 burnout, the death of his friend Etika, and the Solo Leveling copyright strike. But no matter what Roger was going through, good or bad, Smash Ultimate was there. If Melee was Roger’s middle school to high school days, Brawl was his high school to college days, and Smash 4 was his move from Chicago to LA, then I believe that Ultimate represents his growth as a professional content creator. I am so glad to have found Roger through one of his Smash reactions. Sakurai, thank you from the bottom of my heart for not only creating one of the best video games of all time, but for introducing me to my favorite content creator, RogersBase.

Seeing Snake appear and the "Everyone is here" still gets to me lmao. Snake was my favorite back in brawl when I was like 8. Didnt even know what metal gear was (and couldnt play it bc my mom was strict with game ratings 😞) but now metal gear is one of my favorite franchises ever. Super Smash Bros ruined so many things. For example, it ruined all future Fighting Game trailers because they always fall short to this level of hype It ruined the Game Awards, because none will ever live up to the Joker moment And it ruined my Switch Analytics because I spend 90% of the time playing Smash now : )

He wasn't so excited for Minecraft though which, of all the games, is the one that most people have played. I personally don't like the game, but we have it on multiple systems at my house and everyone but me plays it. Friends of mine that aren't gamers at all and have no video game devices still have Minecraft on their computers. I'm just surprised that he hasn't played it.
Personally, I still wholeheartedly believe that the single biggest reveal in all of smash history was the sonic reveal for brawl. We’ve had a lot of big announcements that broke the gaming internet, but that was truly the FIRST one of such a magnitude. Especially considering Nintendo and Sega’s previous rivalry between Mario and sonic.
Call me biased cause it’s the character I popped off for the most, but I think Steve tops Sonic in brawl. I mean everyone and I mean EVERYONE thought it wouldn’t or couldn’t happen. And when it did happen, whether u liked it or not, everyone LOST THIER MINDS. Minecraft, a game made by one person in 2009, is in a game with Mario,Cloud,Snake,Sonic,PacMan, and all the rest. And that’s really cool.

Not really. Some of these are characters that have been asked for for years. And then there are so many little cues like a castle followed by Simon's boots or Mario stepping off a platform that vanishes with the same effect and sound as those in Dive to the Heart in the Kingdom Hearts series. And in some cases, if you just yell "Smash Bros!" during every Nintendo Direct trailer you're bound to be right occasionally.
sephiroth's theme literally plays before show him. You can see luminary (dragon quest hero) all the time in the cinematic min min is the first one that show in arms terry, incineroar and banjo were leaked, etc etc Roger is a videogame fan, that we can tell, he pay attention to the clues
I'm really thankful that I was able to watch Smash evolve from Melee to Ultimate during my lifetime. From Snake, to Sonic, to Mega Man, to Pac-Man, to Bayonetta, to Cloud+Sephiroth, to Joker, to Banjo, to Steve, to Sora, to all the obscure joke characters, and everything in between...he has sought to break barriers for the sake of variety and insanity. It goes without saying that Sakurai will go down as one of the greatest legends in game development. I'm confident we will never experience this again.
How did he predict everything exactly? Just to name some examples: -He guesses that the Inkling trailer is for smash immediately -He predicts that king dedede will be ambushed from behind by king k rool in k rool’s trailer -He guesses that Isabell will be a double reveal for both her in smash and for Animal Crossing on switch -He guesses incineroar will jump in the ring after ken Literally no one else predicted any any of this as exact as he did.
Watching Roger react to all of these characters made me emotional the first time. I absolutely love his passion and love for all of these characters. Thank you Roger, your reactions make my day ❤️

RogersBase being one of the few ppl that was also hype for Byleth like I was made me happy, everyone was salty, but I really like FE. It’s like me not being happy when Steve came out, cuz I thought he was a wasted slot, but later I realized many were like me who wanted him and I learned to be happy for others, those who wanted said characters like Steve and especially Sora as the last character. I mean it fits the character lol, I don't hate minecraft and used to play it a decent amount but it was hard for me to get excited over a character that doesn't really have any backstory or was originally a generic create a character. That's just my opinion but I've seen I'm not the only one

Personally, I still wholeheartedly believe that the single biggest reveal in all of smash history was the sonic reveal for brawl. We’ve had a lot of big announcements that broke the gaming internet, but that was truly the FIRST one of such a magnitude. Especially considering Nintendo and Sega’s previous rivalry between Mario and sonic.

Call me biased cause it’s the character I popped off for the most, but I think Steve tops Sonic in brawl. I mean everyone and I mean EVERYONE thought it wouldn’t or couldn’t happen. And when it did happen, whether u liked it or not, everyone LOST THIER MINDS. Minecraft, a game made by one person in 2009, is in a game with Mario,Cloud,Snake,Sonic,PacMan, and all the rest. And that’s really cool.

Smash bros is how I met you. It’s unbelievable to me that you predict some of the characters and then the next few seconds, they’re announced to be in the game. How in the world could you guess EVERY character? Incredible intuition
Not really. Some of these are characters that have been asked for for years. And then there are so many little cues like a castle followed by Simon's boots or Mario stepping off a platform that vanishes with the same effect and sound as those in Dive to the Heart in the Kingdom Hearts series. And in some cases, if you just yell "Smash Bros!" during every Nintendo Direct trailer you're bound to be right occasionally.

I'm really thankful that I was able to watch Smash evolve from Melee to Ultimate during my lifetime. From Snake, to Sonic, to Mega Man, to Pac-Man, to Bayonetta, to Cloud+Sephiroth, to Joker, to Banjo, to Steve, to Sora, to all the obscure joke characters, and everything in between...he has sought to break barriers for the sake of variety and insanity. It goes without saying that Sakurai will go down as one of the greatest legends in game development. I'm confident we will never experience this again.
How did he predict everything exactly? Just to name some examples:
-He guesses that the Inkling trailer is for smash immediately
-He predicts that king dedede will be ambushed from behind by king k rool in k rool’s trailer
-He guesses that Isabell will be a double reveal for both her in smash and for Animal Crossing on switch
-He guesses incineroar will jump in the ring after ken
Literally no one else predicted any any of this as exact as he did.
I’ve watched almost every direct since “everyone is here” live with you and it has been a journey
I don’t want to live in a world without these kinds of legendary Smash reactions

This was such a… beautiful journey. Seeing the community all get hyped together, thanking Sakurai, predicting each character, am even if they didn’t get what they wanted a lot of people still got happy for those who wanted new fighters. Seeing your reactions… not only was entertaining but also reminded me of where I was during this three years, correlated to each announcement. Even seeing Sakurai’s studio and (kinda) hair cut change was emotional. This video was so amazing, you truly spoke for the entire community each time. Never in videogame history has there been a single game responsible for more hype explosions than Smash.
RogersBase being one of the few ppl that was also hype for Byleth like I was made me happy, everyone was salty, but I really like FE. It’s like me not being happy when Steve came out, cuz I thought he was a wasted slot, but later I realized many were like me who wanted him and I learned to be happy for others, those who wanted said characters like Steve and especially Sora as the last character. Thank you for the memories, I’m glad to have lived through this with you all.

I’m very happy with most of these fighters even if some I don’t particularly care for it’s very beautiful to see others get their favorites in :) mine was Chrom and Byleth. But knowing Joker and Sora now it really is an amazing time to be alive to experience this game.

I mean it fits the character lol, I don't hate minecraft and used to play it a decent amount but it was hard for me to get excited over a character that doesn't really have any backstory or was originally a generic create a character. That's just my opinion but I've seen I'm not the only one
