What’s even worse is that Fiora has no lines in it, the audio is the exact same as Smash 4, which seems to imply that it was a last minute addition. Why would they add in a spoiler that makes the move *less* faithful at the last minute to the point where it seems rushed? Just keep it the same Sakurai, it was fine before
Fun fact: Pac-Man's final smash caps its score at 7650 because in Japanese the number 765 can be read as na-mu-ko, making a reference to Bandai Namco. Apparently they use the number 765 a lot, such as in one of Pac-Man's victory screen and the damage in Pac-Man's fair (7,65% internally)
Fun fact about Ken’s 2nd Smash (Shippu Jinraikyaku), the stance he does in the beginning when you active it is a HUGE reference to Evo Moment#37 where a ken player “Diago” was close to losing but parried ALL of Chun-li’s attack (played by Justin Wong) and made a huge comeback. Making it the most iconic moment in Fighting Game History so it making it to Smash is really awesome!! And it’s also called the Diago Parry!!
The DK final smash actually has a basis on the boss battles in Jungle Beat. I mean they're still just a ton of punching but at least there's that...as well as his appearance in Punch Out Wii (which could explain why he and Little Mac have similar ones) As for Palutena's, her FS is not as random as originally thought of. The Black Hole and Mega Laser combo was an actual strategy players could use in the multiplayer of Uprising
Palutena's is a really nice reference, but it really should've been the Glam Buster since that's the ultimate attack Palutena uses if you take too long fighting Hewdraw in the sky battle.
Robin's would've been so cool if they had different Awakening characters show up every time, not all of them obviously but the fan favorites, and they could all have their own crit voice line (PICK A GOD AND PRAY!)
They didn't show Robin's FS before the game came out so people thought "That must mean Chrom is likely to be in." Which is what happened, but how funny would it have been to have shown Robin's FS, everyone gets disappointed when they see Chrom, and then they are really confused when Chrom is revealed as a fighter.
The problem is that Chrom is really the best character for Robin to pair up with given their close relationship in Awakening. No other character has quite the same bond between the two. Plus I give it a pass since they have Zero Suit Samus put on her Power Suit in her Final Smash. That type of logic goes out the door in Smash I guess.
@@starfalchion4404 One of Robin's gimmicks is that they can get A-level supports with all characters (and an S-level support with any opposite-gender character), including some characters that can't get _any_ supports with any other characters. So having them pair up with any one of a number of different characters for their Final Smash actually makes a lot of sense. If they weren't going to do it for the other Awakening characters, maybe instead they could have chosen a random Smash character who wasn't in the battle, suggesting they'd built an A-level support with them as well? Perhaps Chrom would be a more likely pick if Chrom wasn't already in the battle.
@@starfalchion4404 how about Morgan? I think he/she is the closest character linked to robin that is not chrom so it would be a good option, maybe they can even make robin's Final smash continue to be with chrom but in case he is as an opponent change it to morgan.
The artwork for Peach Blossom is actually a reference! It’s based off of the artwork from the game Super Princess Peach, one of the first games with Peach as the main playable character! Not many people know about it, I only found out about it from an obscure Mario games article and it seems like a cool concept. I’d love to see a new Peach platformer game that improves upon Super Princess Peach’s unique combat system.
Dark Pit's final smash using the Home Run Bat Sound effect is because the Home Run Bat sound effect is based on a sound effect used in many animes to indicate really strong attacks, usually associated with freeze frames or flashy screens. So it actually does fit on Dark Pit’s Final Smash The sound does not fit on GnW's Judge 8 so that's a valid complaint for that move
@PVZMarioSonicA8Fan It would but I think the unique sound it has is way better, especially with how it sounds on whiff where you just feel relief that it missed
@@wolfwarrior1176 Yeah, it’s no shock that Joker got special treatment from Sakurai when it came to his final smash. (For DAMN good reasons lol). Although it’s a bit of a shame that Royal didn’t release by the time Joker was announced to join Smash. We could’ve gotten two alternate versions of Joker’s final smash, the first being his regular all out attack if he attacks two or more fighters. If Joker gets only *ONE* fighter caught, he’d perform his Showtime! attack with Joker and Akechi (Toned down a bit for smash lol) or Joker and Sumire’s “Dances with Thieves” just to add a bit of flair to Joker’s Final Smash. And before spoilers are mentioned, Shulk, Cloud AND Sephiroth all have some form of MAJOR spoiler in their attacks. (Shulk getting Mecha Fiora, Cloud unleashing his final Limit Break move Omnislash or Omnislash Ver. 5 for the Advent Children alt and Sephiroth’s infamous Supernova attack used in his final battle.) So Sakurai could totally throw Joker a bone here if Royal was a thing in the timeframe of Ultimate’s development.
@@leohernandez8751 i mean...ff7 has been around for the better part of 2 decades. Not exactly spoilers at that point. Xenoblade technically grey area what with the release of definitive edition for switch. But its been out since the wii era.
@@wolfwarrior1176 Yeah fair point for FF7’s case. Ain’t exactly spoiler territory at this point (unless the remake counts). Plus with Xenoblade yeah the definitive edition makes it a grey area since that was a switch release and the original WAS on the Wii originally.
@@Stardust20741 I actually heard someone bring up the idea that if you hit multiple people it could do an all out attack and a showtime for when it hits one person.
@@alleyboley4331 Nah fr imagine getting hit by Joker then you're suddenly watching two random guys in a skeleton and fox mask make and eat ramen lmao As for any others, I think stuff like Joker/Crow's and Joker/Violet's would be a bit spoilery for Smash. And unfortunately Joker's Showtimes in Scramble aren't as cool as any other character's. Not to mention how if he pulled out Satanael that'd be a big spoiler as well... All-Out Attack really was the best option lol.
I like that when pokemon trainer is using it's final smash, charizard only fires 5 times which I'm just going to assume that it's a reference to how much power points fire blast has.
If the opponent is at really high damage, the Bowser punch will actually punch them straight into the screen from the stage. Not like a normal screen ko, but literally punches them straight towards the camera
I personally like that Chrom still appears in Robin's final smash because it makes me think of a Smash game where Waluigi becomes a playable fighter while still being an assist trophy at first. Imagine being able to make a Waluigi kill another Waluigi while being a Waluigi yourself.
Falco has an Easter egg like Fox and Wolf, but for hitting multiple characters. He would say "We've got multiple Bogies Inbound!" DK's Final Smash is a reference to Donkey Kong Jungle Beat where he fights the same way.
23:27 as the resident Kid Icarus enjoyer, this is a very good reference. Pit gets the lightning chariot during the chaos kin arc to break through Palutena’s barrier around skyworld, and it’s incredibly powerful. Also, if you listen during the wind up you can even hear Pit calling both of the unicorns by name (Phos and Lux)
Also Palutena's final smash is not exactly too random. Black Hole and Laser are both abilities that Pit can use and are implied to be help he gets from Palutena
Personally I hated how they got rid of the three sacred treasures. Dark Pit should've gotten the Lightning Chariot because he uses it to impale HADES in chapter 23
My biggest nitpick with Ultimate was the lack of controlled final smashes. Like Diddy Kong and Yoshi and Sonics from previous games where you could actually control an overpowered version of the character. That was so much fun
It would have made sense to add a slime block to the end of the piston, which launches entities in minecraft. A piston just moves things 1 block forward
fun fact about dark pit's final smash, it actually follows up really well with his back throw palutena's final smash is actually a reference to a commonly used strategy for kid icarus uprising's multiplayer mode (yes that exists and is one of the reasons I really hope we get a remake of it) where you'd use a black hole spell followed up by a mega laser spell and it would completely nuke people in it. Kirby's final smash isn't just a reference to ultra sword but it's a reference to the final boss fight of kirby's return to dreamland where kirby does multiple slashes on the final hit and finishes the enemy off with the bigger sword Pac-man's final smash is a full on reference to super pac man, the green dot is what makes him big and allows him to go through pretty much everything
@@RockinRocketScienceokay, and? Some people like to spread information. You don’t have to see four paragraphs and automatically think that person is a nerd.
I think the mii gunner may actually reference something! Specifically the ships from the shoot-em-up minigame in the mii plaza, which can create a formation and beam IDENTICAL to the final smash
Because you put the ones you thought were uninspired at the bottom, I just want to say that for what they are in terms of inspiration, Byleth's and Corrin's are actually probably the best things they could have picked for them. Corrin's is his full dragon transformation, which is his most powerful form and he went on a rampage in that form in the story, and Byleth's is the combat art he can only do with the sword of the creator after he fully fuses with Sothis. I would personally argue that they're more inspired than the other Fire Emblem characters except maybe Ike could also be in there. I just thought I'd share since most people aren't familiar with Fire Emblem and I love it quite a lot
@@mercurysnake274 I can see how it doesn't look that great compared to others in a similar style but there's a lot that don't look that great. Hero's I feel like also doesn't look good visually for the exact same reasons that people don't like Byleth's but people don't hate on it all the time. I don't know
The thing is that for Corrin, sending someone flying in a water whirlpool makes no sense. The dragon part does, but Corrin has no water-related powers whatsoever. In FE Fates the second main protagonist, Azura, is the one associated with water, and even then she doesn't really use it to attack directly like that. As for Byleth, the attack itself makes sense, it's the aesthetic execution of it that I find lackluster. Hero does use PNGs but they aren't as obvious and the combination of them all makes it look good, Sothis just looks painfully obvious as a 2D sprite behind Byleth, and the attack's "whipping" part also looks really weird. There's no finishing hit either unlike the original game. I believe a more fitting Final Smash for Byleth would've been a group batallion charge, which could be led by one of the house leaders picked at random, since the use of batallions was one of Three Houses' biggest new combat mechanics and would fit their status as a professor and battle commander.
@@ManuCarrotman312 A little late to this, but they absolutely do have water powers. They literally shoot a water projectile when Dragon Fang procs and is very clearly some kind of water-based dragon. The problem why it feels uninspired is because the devs just threw their dragon form in for shock value and then dropped it entirely after Chapter 5. The whole thing comes up again when Kana is introduced and that’s it.
@@Astro986 Hmm. Given Corrin's origins as (Spoilers for FE Fates if anyone really cares lol) hailing from the kingdom of Valla, just like Azura, it does make sense that he/she would share some water powers just like her, it's probably in the bloodline. But they still come nowhere near the ability to summon a whole damn whirlpool. Perhaps summoning Azura to assist with the powers from her singing to actually create it would've been better. One thing that always bugged me about FE characters in Smash is that in spite how the "power of friendship" trope is so prevalent, only Robin (and Byleth if Sothis counts) brings someone to help in their Final Smash.
17:22 did you know you can mash A during that segment to make the attack stronger, seems everyone always forgets that part for some reason despite there being a meter. Also, you can 0 to death with her FS by up throw, double up b, double jump, diving abk 2x, and falling up air. I like how some FS shows characters at their strongest and finest like Little Mac and Sonic while others like Bayo and Sora can already do their original FS in the 1st chapter of their games. As for Lightning Chariot, I particularly don't like it since it's only used once in game and it's to break a barrier so I think Pit's smash 4 FS looked cooler but I guess it makes sense considering SPOILER alert: the 3 Sacred Treasures actually get destroyed mid-way through the game and Pit must get a shiny new one the Great Sacred Treasure which I think would be a better reference and could work as a screen nuke or aoe blast of some kind.
the final smashes are all very unique and can be rated in various different ways, from the looks to being useful or just everything combined keep up these great ranking videos :D
Yes, this should be great, considering that Ultimate for the most part perfected Final Smashes with them being mainly balanced and mainly great references
It was actually Joker’s ultimate that solidified him into being my main. I had already liked his moves but I absolutely loved his ultimate simply because of how good it looked especially the final screen.
Joker simply getting the 1:1 treatment save for the stars due to smash's rating is just criminally perfect His final smash is just that privileged and I'm not complaining, deserved top 1
9:16 actually this isn’t random at all, Kid Icarus Uprising had a multi-player game where you could use the powers Palutena’s moveset is based off of. However, balance changes had to be added regarding an extremely overpowered combo that being, black hole and mega laser. I have never been so touched by a reference before
From what I understand, Palutena's Final Smash is a reference to two powers in Kid Icarus: Uprising: Black Hole and Mega Laser. And I believe the two powers were used in combination in online, much like Palutena uses them.
I always hated when people say mario’s final smash should be the trex, For a character like mario his fs should be something that represents something more synonymous with his character not a one off attack If I were to change the final smash I would go for a giant mushroom or a invincibility star
@@vosbros87 true but when have smash ever cared about stuff like that? Chrome is a fighter and in Robin’s final smash and for item related stuff springman is an assist trophy and in min min’s final smash so it probably won’t be a big deal
@smash8102 how would it work though???? Double the invincibility? Flashy Cutscene? Getting to the point? If you really want it to work, it has to stand out compared to the normal star item. Plus Chrom isn't an item and Spring Man is with the rest of the ARMS gang compared to him being alone. A basic star will nerf mario fs compared to his current one. And don't get me started on a giant mushroom... really? There are many things Mario can reference for his fs. Those two aren't gonna cut it.
@@RockStoneLee19 fair I would make it kinda like mario galaxy version where when you run into them you hurt them I would also give attack and movement boost in both power and speed like wario’s but less extreme.
@@RockStoneLee19 why I get why you think giant mushrooms and star are kinda boring Ideas they both represent Mario really well one of Mario’s most iconic things in his games is grabbing a mushroom and growing to power up so repressing that in smash makes sense to me just make it more interesting than the mushroom item maybe work like giga bowser i guess. For Mario I feel you can’t really give him something like the trex cause he’s such an iconic character who has been around for years so his final smash should be something simple and more synonymous with Mario as a character, mario is a simple character and so are most of his games so he shouldn’t really have a flashy cutscene final smash in my opinion
I really miss the controllable final smashes that Bowser, Little Mac, Wario, Lucario, Sonic, and etc. had, I feel they also did the cutscene final smashes too much in Ultimate, literally every DLC character except Piranha Plant had a cutscene final smash
I have said this before but saying *every* DLC has a cutscene final Smash is a very surface level statement. Pyra, Mythra and Kazuya have a short cutscene after activating them but the actual attack happens in gameplay, and Terry's triple Power Geyser used to catch the opponent deals about half of the damage of the entire move so it's not all cutscene either. There's also the specific gimmicks to some others so they stand out, even if they are cutscenes, like Joker and Sora both insta-killing at 100% or higher (plus Joker's having that finisher effect), and Sephiroth having the random effects. The only ones that truly are a cutscene with not much else to it are Hero, Banjo, Byleth, Min Min and Steve, that's about half of it. Besides most of them look kickass and fit the characters as a finishing blow. Also I personally don't miss controllable Final Smashes at all. It's not fun to run away from an overpowered invincible opponent for 20 seconds. Also screw Landmasters, good riddance.
Fun fact with Corrin: Corrin's first appearance was DLC in Smash 4, like how I believe Roy debuted in Melee (as opposed to their actual games coming before Smash appearances), so it's hard to say what in Corrin's moveset is exactly inspired by what outside of simply the character itself. The Torrential Roar move is also exclusive to Smash and has no relevance in Fire Emblem Fates aside from the affinity with being a dragon and water. I like the Critical Hit on Marth, Lucina, and Roy though. Clean reference to those moments where you straight lose the run because you couldn't predict the enemy would end up one-shotting you and screwing the strategy you thought you had.
I think Petey Piranha being able to fall off the edge is actually a good thing, because if you’re fighting somebody with low percent and a bad recovery you can just drop them off the edge with Petey and kill them that way
I LOVE joker’s final smash! I also discovered that I’m fit to be a Joker main! Most characters I JUST can’t fight a team of 7 above level 2, but with joker it’s level 5! I was pretty amazed at the potential since I had never used him. Of course, give me any character I can take down a few level 9s. But putting them in 1 team is what makes that hard.
My top 3 final smashes are 3. Jokers love the Easter egg 2. Yoshi my favorite character ever 1. Mega man love the fan service as a mega man fan Dry Bones for smash Also odyssey is based for his favorite Pokémon being greninja
I think that if they wanted to use the triforce slash on young link again then they should have had him at the absolute least have him turn into fierce deity link
Couldn't agree more on the Mario one. There are so many items in his games and still they choosed such a simple one What actually bothers me the most is that they took Mario's fire flower skin away and didn't even use it for the final smash. Also I'm the biggest Mario fan.
I imagine if they add a street fighter character to smash 6 they'd be from sf6. Possibly the Nero-like guy they're putting on the cover. Kyle or something like that
I'd switch Robin and Corrin personally. I get that trashing on Corrin for being boring has become a bit of a recurring joke that I don't really like, but turning into a dragon is still conceptually cool, even if for once I have to agree that it's mediocre since she already turns into a dragon for the rest of her moveset. Robin, on the other hand, is just objectively outdated. Chrom was put in his final smash as consolation for not being in smash 4, but now that he's in the move reeks of rushed development, which is especially jarring for how polished the rest of the game is.
But it doesn't take in practicality like Alpharad. Because most of the DLC characters would be straight up S-Tier. Especially Sephiroth,Steve and Mythra.
Joker being at number 1 makes so much sense. The incredible unique victory screen, the reference, and the fact that it throws the opponent where the shadows are is just perfect. Just like Persona 5, the final smash absolutely BLEEDS style, and I couldnt be happier. Not to mention, Joker’s victory screen in general is so perfect, considering its a direct nod when you win a battle in the game. They went all out (no pun intended) with Joker as a DLC character, and I love that they did. He got the recognition he deserves.
Yeah, Sakurai’s soft spot for the Persona series TRULY came to shine with Joker’s inclusion. The victory screen would’ve been even more amazing if the other Phantom Thieves joined Joker in his victory screens using the same combination of characters we see used in his final smash and their position can be randomized adding to the uniqueness of Joker’s victory screen. The first combo can be Joker, Skull, Panther and Mona. The second combo can be Joker, Fox (Yusuke), Queen and Noir. An optional third rare combo can include Royal content with it only being Joker, Violet and Black Mask Crow with either Akechi or Sumire commenting on Joker’s victory. This includes the Mona Car victory screen as well.
Putting Mii Brawler Omega blitz that low is brutal. It's such a well choreographed combo of fighting and it just looks so clean. Combined with the sounds it uses and the final 3 swings i think it's the most raw final smash of all time
Honestly, there’s a way to make Triforve Slash work with Toon Link: just have him be from Phantom Hourglass rather than Windwaker (still technically the same character either way.) Instead of trapping the foe in a Triforce, just have him use the Phantom Sword to freeze enemies in time and slash them while they’re paused.
Blackhole mega laser is actually a reference to the Kid Icarus online (idk if it can also be used in the single player). Palutena helps pit with some magic and the strongest 2 support magic Palutena can use are blackhole and mega laser
I feel like it would have been cool if mewtwo had a similar final smash to ken and ryu, being that it would mega evolve into new to x or y depending on how far away they were
I remember the devs for Ultimate saying something about wanting each Final Smash to get to the point as one big smack instead of doing things like transforming the character and controlling them.
So Palutena's final smash Blackhole Laser is not random, not only is it a reference to the goddess powers from Kid Icarus: Uprising those being Blackhole and Mega Laser, but the specific combo of Blackhole and Mega Laser is referencing Kid Icarus: Uprising's multiplayer mode as those 2 powers being used in combination was an extremely popular strategy.
My favourite has to be Dedede Rush. Dedede's my favourite character and Masked Dedede was the perfect candidate for his Final Smash. I get why it wasn't in Brawl since Masked Dedede didn't exist but Dedede Burst in Smash 4 was an actual disappointment since it felt like they delibrately ignored it (kinda like other Kirby stuff past 2007). Seeing it in that first E3 Ultimate presentation was the most elated I've been about a Final Smash so I feel like it has to be my number 1.
Bro, Jungle Rush is based off of DK Jungle Beat, where he beats the crap out of the world boss for each level. They even brought it back for DKC Returns, it's actually a pretty cool reference if you know Donkey Kong
Getting the RNG you want on the Sephiroth final smash > waiting for an item that gives the exact same status effect In other words, Flowering an enemy with hypernova > Lipstick It feels a million times more rewarding smh
Given your comments, it seems you have not noticed that piranha plant can control petey piranha by moving left and right, much the same as inkling can move and control the killer wail at the same time.
I find Roy’s final smash to be so satisfying, catching people from behind and swinging them over to your front makes it the most fun final smash in the game for me personally, plus the animation is super dope
A small fact that honestly should boost Roy’s final smash up a bit, it is a direct reference to his critical hit animation when equipped with the binding blade. Pretty sure this detail is unique compared to all other FE characters in the game. Edit: just remembered that Marth’s crit animation in Shadow Dragon is also the pose he uses in smash.
Lucarios final smash is affected by aura, so at max aura it a: kills at 0, and b: would be a little but easier to capture people in it, since the beam is bigger, but the issue you mentioned of people falling out is still kinda there
I feel like you could have gone into depth a little more with some of the entries, like explain what Toon Link could've had differently like how you did with Young Link, why you placed the Starfox characters into their specific spots or what differentiates them if they all have the same Final Smash, or compared Donkey Kong's previous Final Smashes and see if another would've done better in Ultimate. Nevertheless, this was a decent video~
I do agree with your opinion Young Links final smash, they could’ve just made his fs Triforce slash but it’s Fierce Deity Link instead of the triforce and I would’ve liked it 5x better. I also think that they should’ve given YL the Hero’s shield and Gilded sword from MM instead of making the Kokiri shield fire proof and the Kokiri sword longer.
Well the tri force slash is iconic with smash games probably why they stuck to it, guess they wanted young link to be reminiscent of the 3D link games and not specific to one. But idk seems weird to criticize a game based on another game reference.
Neat trivia on Ridley's final smash: -The shooting down of Samus' ship is from Metroid Zero Mission where an "unknown blast" wrecks her on the planet. -The pose of Ridley shooting his beam from behind at a distant target is taken directly from the Manga where his beam is obliterating an entire mountain as he kills Gray Voice. -Ridley's final smash is the most powerful final smash that can hit multiple opponents (max of 2) and features the instant kill function on all hit. Zelda's is stronger but hits only one target. Sora comes right after Ridley being able to hit 3 opponents. Of all the "Hit more than one AND do instant KO", Jokers is oddly the weakest. HOWEVER, that may be why there is the unique victory screen for extra style points.
I was trying to figure out which charcter you ranked at number 1 before it came up by remembering which character you didn’t talk about and realized while you were talking about Bowser that it was Joker I’ve been playing Persona 5 and yeah his Final Smash is the best in the game, the way the match can end on the last screen just like the game is so amazing All of those end screens from the game are really cool, my favorites in particular are Futaba's and Ryuji's ones
I really enjoyed this video. As a Sonic main, it's still kind if sad to see him down so low, but I just have to agree that this new final smash for him is not that good. Hope they bring back his old one if they make a 6th Smash Bros. And, as a suggestion for the next Smash Bros video, you could do a ranking for all of the Codec Calls in Smash Bros Brawl (since no one in Smash 4 or Ultimate got one).
You forgot the fact on Byleth’s final Smash, his 3 alts based on Dimitri, Edelgard, and Claude, have their hair changed to green for some reason, Devs could have leave their hairs as it is and only affect first 2 Byleth’s alts

It's not the fact that Inkling can move during Killer Wail that slightly ruins the Final Smash for me (you're able to do that the moment you deploy it anyways so that part is actually super faithful to Splatoon), it's the fact that it can be angled mid-beam which is something you CAN'T do in Splatoon and makes it all the more tedious to control because you have to multitask between trying to suck everyone up in the beam and making sure Inkling doesn't fall off the stage in the process. Having it so that it can't be angled mid-beam would make it a bit worse granted but it'd still be somewhat unique on virtue of being able to manually control Inkling and trying to hit opponents into the move, similarly to Rosalina's Grand Star.
So fun fact and something of a continuity fix for ness and Lucas’s final smash is that in game, neither character is capable of learning PK Starstorm. The only 2 characters who can learn it are Poo (the monk looking boy) and Kumatora (the pink haired woman).
Yeah, that just further supports the fact that Sakurai is a HUGE Persona fan so Joker DEFINITELY got some special treatment for Smash. It would’ve made the final smash even better in my opinion if the final smash was updated to include Royal content with a rare chance of the All Out Attack to include Joker, Violet and Black Mask Crow to reference the Third Semester Arc for P5R with Akechi’s guidance dialogue toned down like Morgana’s.
I honestly love Pyra/Mythra’s Final Smashes. Burning Sword and Sacred Arrow are Level IV Blade Specials in the original game, and it feels so powerful there.
Not sure if this was mentioned yet, but Palutena's FS is based off of the powers in Kid Icarus: Uprising, with both Black Hole and Mega Laser being the most powerful ones to combo. Plus she gives Pit his abilities, so for her to use them isn't really far out of the question. And the fact we don't know what she can really do either lmao
I gotta say, I do love how Sakurai worked in the level 2 supers for Terry's final smash. Not to mention combining Triple Geyser and Level 2 Buster Wolf? That's sick! As a Fatal Fury/King of Fighters fan, I salute you Sakurai!
12:58 Gamers keep saying this isn't based on anything, but as a Mii Force enthusiast, this Final Smash heavily borrows from it. Do you plan to also rank the victory screens?
Not only is Shulk's final smash a spoiler they made it worse from Smash 4 because back then it only had 3 people which is faithful to the game.
They should have removed riki since he's an assist anyways or just not touch it at all

What’s even worse is that Fiora has no lines in it, the audio is the exact same as Smash 4, which seems to imply that it was a last minute addition. Why would they add in a spoiler that makes the move *less* faithful at the last minute to the point where it seems rushed? Just keep it the same Sakurai, it was fine before
@@av_jacey Just make it like Jokers and have two of the 6 party members randomly appear

Yeah, I remember watching PK Beats talking about this I think.
76.5
Oooooh! That’s why. I’ve been wondering about the 765 thing
Smash 4 Pac Man was more fun
Along with all the other playable final smashes..

I mean they're still just a ton of punching but at least there's that...as well as his appearance in Punch Out Wii (which could explain why he and Little Mac have similar ones)
As for Palutena's, her FS is not as random as originally thought of. The Black Hole and Mega Laser combo was an actual strategy players could use in the multiplayer of Uprising
Yea, he whould put it higher if he knew the refrence
Aint punching the bosses in returns and tropical freeze too?
@@av_jacey Yeah, but once you already beat the level. In Jungle Beat it was part of the boss battles gameplay if I remember correctly
@@ricardofredes9527 Not only part of the boss battles. Every larger enemy would be beaten up that way.
Palutena's is a really nice reference, but it really should've been the Glam Buster since that's the ultimate attack Palutena uses if you take too long fighting Hewdraw in the sky battle.
The funniest part about Peach/Daisy's final smash is seeing bad CPU's sleep for 30 seconds its just so anti climactic
Robin's would've been so cool if they had different Awakening characters show up every time, not all of them obviously but the fan favorites, and they could all have their own crit voice line (PICK A GOD AND PRAY!)
If that happened that definitely could’ve made it top 10 at least!
They are making a new Peach game, coming out next year
Yeah but Perry the parasol would have made more sense as a reference.
The best part about controllable Wario Man is that the skybox doesn't kill you, so I would just spam clap up into space
Rosalina's could've been so cool, like throwing them into the reactor of the observatory and mote grandstsrs fly in, increasing the damage

Dark Pit's final smash using the Home Run Bat Sound effect is because the Home Run Bat sound effect is based on a sound effect used in many animes to indicate really strong attacks, usually associated with freeze frames or flashy screens. So it actually does fit on Dark Pit’s Final Smash
The sound does not fit on GnW's Judge 8 so that's a valid complaint for that move
Does it fit on Judge 9?
@PVZMarioSonicA8Fan It would but I think the unique sound it has is way better, especially with how it sounds on whiff where you just feel relief that it missed
And dark pits pose is cool too🤷🏾♂️

I agree with nr 1. Joker’s final smash is soooo detailed. Straight out of Persona 5
I adore it so much. P5R is an amazing game and im happy joker got the FS he deserved
5 for the Advent Children alt and Sephiroth’s infamous Supernova attack used in his final battle.) I personally like that Chrom still appears in Robin's final smash because it makes me think of a Smash game where Waluigi becomes a playable fighter while still being an assist trophy at first.
Fun fact you can actually cancel Marth and lucinas FS by pressing B again

Three Sacred Treasures is miles better
I think it kinda makes Pit more special cuz he becomes one of the few characters who got a different final smash in each game

It would also be nice if Steve’s final smash would also have a victory screen of his animation at the end, similar to Joker.

It would have made sense to add a slime block to the end of the piston, which launches entities in minecraft. A piston just moves things 1 block forward

palutena's final smash is actually a reference to a commonly used strategy for kid icarus uprising's multiplayer mode (yes that exists and is one of the reasons I really hope we get a remake of it) where you'd use a black hole spell followed up by a mega laser spell and it would completely nuke people in it.
Kirby's final smash isn't just a reference to ultra sword but it's a reference to the final boss fight of kirby's return to dreamland where kirby does multiple slashes on the final hit and finishes the enemy off with the bigger sword
Pac-man's final smash is a full on reference to super pac man, the green dot is what makes him big and allows him to go through pretty much everything

It is. Mii Force
People say that Byleth’s is bad because “muh png file” but does that really matter? I’ve personally never really noticed it
@@mercurysnake274 I can see how it doesn't look that great compared to others in a similar style but there's a lot that don't look that great.
One thing that always bugged me about FE characters in Smash is that in spite how the "power of friendship" trope is so prevalent, only Robin (and Byleth if Sothis counts) brings someone to help in their Final Smash.
dude the fact i didn’t even know about jokers is insane. jaw dropped
I thought the closing the door thing with Sora would not be possible for him to do until at least the end of his first game.
24:35 this actually happened to me at one point and when it finished we all died of laughter. that was a fun match
You'd never expect comedy from Sephiroth, of all characters, which honestly makes it even funnier. XD

It was actually Joker’s ultimate that solidified him into being my main. I had already liked his moves but I absolutely loved his ultimate simply because of how good it looked especially the final screen.
Joker simply getting the 1:1 treatment save for the stars due to smash's rating is just criminally perfect
His final smash is just that privileged and I'm not complaining, deserved top 1
I think the star would be the best but it js already an item
@@ManuCarrotman312 Agreed! Transformations are overrated.
Terry’s final smash might be one of my favorites.
I love Joker's final smash, definitely the best in the game by far. Great video Odyssey!
My top 3 final smashes are
3. Jokers love the Easter egg
2. Yoshi my favorite character ever
1. Mega man love the fan service as a mega man fan
Dry Bones for smash
Also odyssey is based for his favorite Pokémon being greninja

I think that if they wanted to use the triforce slash on young link again then they should have had him at the absolute least have him turn into fierce deity link
Agreed.
Even though they didn't do that, they should've at least given YL an alt with the razor sword and hero's shield.
Couldn't agree more on the Mario one.
There are so many items in his games and still they choosed such a simple one
What actually bothers me the most is that they took Mario's fire flower skin away and didn't even use it for the final smash.
Also I'm the biggest Mario fan.
I can already imagine if they add a sf5 character to smash 6, how beautifully animate their final snash would be
I imagine if they add a street fighter character to smash 6 they'd be from sf6. Possibly the Nero-like guy they're putting on the cover. Kyle or something like that
2 of Luigi’s move up-b and down taunt make the home run bat sound effect
I'd switch Robin and Corrin personally. I get that trashing on Corrin for being boring has become a bit of a recurring joke that I don't really like, but turning into a dragon is still conceptually cool, even if for once I have to agree that it's mediocre since she already turns into a dragon for the rest of her moveset. Robin, on the other hand, is just objectively outdated. Chrom was put in his final smash as consolation for not being in smash 4, but now that he's in the move reeks of rushed development, which is especially jarring for how polished the rest of the game is.
Finally, a Final Smash ranking with the DLC fighters. I been waiting for a long time
But it doesn't take in practicality like Alpharad. Because most of the DLC characters would be straight up S-Tier. Especially Sephiroth,Steve and Mythra.
I love how just last video he was hating on pokemon but now he is talking about how much he likes it
Always have to keep them guessing
19:50 the inkling can move, because that was how the special worked in Splatoon 1.
I love the part when you tried to do this at other players far away they get easily KO with the killer whale
I always thought Mewtwo's final smash was him like, breaking the opponents' minds!
Blackhole mega laser is actually a reference to the Kid Icarus online (idk if it can also be used in the single player). Palutena helps pit with some magic and the strongest 2 support magic Palutena can use are blackhole and mega laser
It can
Just not in the air sections if I remember correctly
I may have bias but I actually quite like Corrin’s final smash
Same. I know people hate on Corrin a lot, but I love to play as them and love their aesthetic.
5:26 I am pretty sure DK final smash is a reference to Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, and I personally think that it is actually good given the context
Yeah or donkey Kong country returns when beating boss or end barrel
I feel like it would have been cool if mewtwo had a similar final smash to ken and ryu, being that it would mega evolve into new to x or y depending on how far away they were
Corrins final smash = looks like a toilets been flushed
I remember the devs for Ultimate saying something about wanting each Final Smash to get to the point as one big smack instead of doing things like transforming the character and controlling them.
15:57 If you press B again, you can cancel the movement. I think it only works for Marth though, but I might be wrong.

I find Roy’s final smash to be so satisfying, catching people from behind and swinging them over to your front makes it the most fun final smash in the game for me personally, plus the animation is super dope
For me, I'd put Roy's FS way above Marth and Lucina's. I only kind of agree on the missing crit sound, but it still sounds way more powerful as-is.
A small fact that honestly should boost Roy’s final smash up a bit, it is a direct reference to his critical hit animation when equipped with the binding blade. Pretty sure this detail is unique compared to all other FE characters in the game. Edit: just remembered that Marth’s crit animation in Shadow Dragon is also the pose he uses in smash.
a little thing for Marth and Lucina's final smash.
you can cancel the rush to stop the final smash, so you won't SD.
Neat trivia on Ridley's final smash:
-The shooting down of Samus' ship is from Metroid Zero Mission where an "unknown blast" wrecks her on the planet.
I was trying to figure out which charcter you ranked at number 1 before it came up by remembering which character you didn’t talk about and realized while you were talking about Bowser that it was Joker
I’ve been playing Persona 5 and yeah his Final Smash is the best in the game, the way the match can end on the last screen just like the game is so amazing
All of those end screens from the game are really cool, my favorites in particular are Futaba's and Ryuji's ones
Honestly as someone who mains peach and also uses her for events, her final smash has saved me a couple of times, esp when dealing with a hard cpu 😅
I really enjoyed this video. As a Sonic main, it's still kind if sad to see him down so low, but I just have to agree that this new final smash for him is not that good. Hope they bring back his old one if they make a 6th Smash Bros. And, as a suggestion for the next Smash Bros video, you could do a ranking for all of the Codec Calls in Smash Bros Brawl (since no one in Smash 4 or Ultimate got one).
using "In the final for describing bowser's final smash is just perfect.
You forgot the fact on Byleth’s final Smash, his 3 alts based on Dimitri, Edelgard, and Claude, have their hair changed to green for some reason, Devs could have leave their hairs as it is and only affect first 2 Byleth’s alts
Probably a reference to Byleth’s transformation though, since they can only use the upgraded Sublime Heaven after that

6:51 As somone who plays xenoblade I think they should have added the Quick time events same as in the game.
As a joker main that detail for his victory screen made me so happy when I found out
Yeah, that just further supports the fact that Sakurai is a HUGE Persona fan so Joker DEFINITELY got some special treatment for Smash.
I'd play with Final Smashes on if there was an option to change how fast the gauge fills up, or even better : you can only use your FS once per game
I honestly love Pyra/Mythra’s Final Smashes. Burning Sword and Sacred Arrow are Level IV Blade Specials in the original game, and it feels so powerful there.
i hate how most of the final smashes in this game function the same now
Not sure if this was mentioned yet, but Palutena's FS is based off of the powers in Kid Icarus: Uprising, with both Black Hole and Mega Laser being the most powerful ones to combo.
Specifically, the attack you can perform with two Piercing Lasers equipped. It even has the two circling pods.
In Smash 4, you could even equip the Mii Gunner with the Mii Force Helmet!
