They would never admit that. He threw them their groupthink bone when he said that "Republicans" are appropriating the term and using it when one of their own gets their "just comeuppance." The only reason the Right is talking about cancel culture is because it's almost exclusively the Left who is partaking in censorship and cancel culture. I guess that's what happens when an ideological group has almost complete control of the political and cultural institutions. It happened with Christians, and now it's happening with the religion of woke.

I'm a couple of years older than her and I was a grunge kid so I hated her music and made fun of her divorce and shaving her head. We've been down this road before. Read Margaret Chase Smith's Declaration of Conscience, considered one of the greatest speeches ever given on the US Senate floor. Margaret Chase Smith was a Republican Senator from Maine. In it she states the basic principles of "Americanism" are:
The right to criticize;
The right to hold unpopular beliefs;
The right to protest;
The right of independent thought.
It is good to remember Margaret Chase Smith, whose courage and integrity and willingness to stand up to toxic figures in her own party still shine almost seventy years later.

If you know anything about society then you know that people aren't evolved enough to live in a society that works that way. People want to be controlled. People want America to be like China. Total government control. You can't educate idiots. The best you can hope for is that the world's most brilliant minds (who came up with rights like you mentioned) are able to escape this planet and live somewhere safe from the rest of the idiots, so that they can advance their own civilization and live on in peace.

And all Chris Harrison said was that we should show the contestant some grace and compassion because we all make mistakes and back in 2018, attending a Gone with the Wind/Antebellum era theme party seemed appropriate even though it’s not anymore. That was enough to cancel him too. Ridiculous. Never forget that all throughout history, the silent majority has always been irrelevant. So, while most of us agree this is insane, it’s the minority radical and crazy left that are pushing this. They already control every institution in America, from academia, to government to mainstream media to big corporations like Disney and Big Tech. All we can do now, both liberals and conservatives, is sit back and watch as they keep destroying the social fibers, principles and values of western society.

So 12 year old Tamir Rice, was shot dead by police, what crime did he commit to deserved to be executed in such a brutal& violent way & Breonna Taylor an EMT worker was sleeping in her bed & she was shot dead by police, serving a no knock warrant, at the wrong property & at the wrong location! So how do you get justice in that situation? The list goes on & on of the injustice in this country, particularly against Black people & people of color! The history of United States is replete with the atrocities perpetrated against so-called minority groups! So I disagree that people wanna be controlled, as some has suggested in this form, people want justice, they want accountability, reparations for past transgressions & they do not want to be controlled & cancel culture is nonsense, because you can’t cancel what has happened, that’s like saying you can cancel history, both concepts are ridiculous! My wife worked with a woman who’s father was a Civil war buff and when he passed away she got some of his relics and actual Civil war items. He had an American flag and rebel flag from and actual battle during that era. Both where folded and framed in a wood box, if you’ve ever seen that. On a zoom call, for a few seconds both flags where seen as well as other Civil War items on a shelf in the room she was zooming in. This was at the very beginning of the zoom meeting during COVID, when we didn’t have special places to zoom. She was fired. Not asked to explain, or interviewed, just fired.
I'm not a Bill Maher fan but applaud him taking a stand on this issue! We need more people on all sides of the political Spectrum to do the same. So Kudos to him.

I’m a proud, socially Left-leaning liberal, but I absolutely agree today’s zero tolerance cancel culture goes too far. Regardless of our personal beliefs and opinions, nobody has the right to simply declare anyone’s thoughts “off limits”. Humanity must be free to discuss a wide range of ideas, even if I personally consider your ideas abhorrent.
No one thoughts are off limits however that doesnt mean it is without consequences. Certain things like Racism and homophobia should be off limits, considering it is costing people their lives. Dont get me wrong, I understand some things go too far. On the other hand, we need to have standards as well.
