I started my shop in March 2024 and I homeschool and work part time. I produce probably one to two design a week. I’m trying to start doing more. I noticed that the views are getting more frequent, but it is a bit discouraging so thank you for posting this video because I really needed it, I’ve only made 10 sales so far. And two of them were for my friends.

This is where I am now. I have 346 listings and over 266 sales. Started in 10/21 the took a break. Revamped 10/23 gotten better in sales in April and June. July has been super slow. Trying to keep faith this can turn around. Thanks for the encouragement! I needed this

I will forever be grateful to you Shawna and the other legitimate etsy youtube channels. We started an etsy store last year I was really active in Q4 listing daily as per your instruction which I did and we reached 100 sales right now our store is getting consistent sales and we are doubling down with evergreen listing prepping for q4 with volume of quality listings. Our goal is to reach 5000 sales by 31st of December with at least 500 listings by October. Very ambitious but worth the challenge. Thank you once again.

@robynlatorre7044 all depends on my schedule. I published 30 yesterday so I design and publish all at once because of my schedule..So far I have 167 listings by the end of the week it will be 200

Can you make a video explaining pricing? It makes no sense to me how some people can price their items so low and still make a profit. You have an older video called “pricing strategies” but prices have gone up since then. Would you be willing to make a new one? And break down the pricing on the most commonly sold brands like Bella canvas, comfort colors, and gildan. If you would, it would mean a lot and I appreciate how honest you always are. You’re the only youtuber I trust at this point for Etsy who doesn’t bs lol.
Hey there Dani! I am putting this on the list! These videos take a while to put together so might take me a hot little minute! In the meantime my cheat sheet way of kind of doing it is to first look up the price of the item I want to sell with the print provider I want to sell it with. Get the total price for it so Product plus shipping. Then add 5-7 dollars to it to see where you are at with profit. Now play with your numbers to include roughly 11 percent to go to Etsy fees and to account for any sales you want to have running in your shop! I hope this at least gives you some guidance while you wait for another video!

I opened my shop in Sept. of 2023. I have only made about 20-25 sales. I work DAILY on this. I am not giving up, but I am getting discouraged. I even quit watching youtube videos because y'all were all talking about making tons of money in your shops. HELP!

I'm open since October 2023 with my first listing up in November...I only have 7 sales and 534 listings! I lost 2 months' work due to a death in the family and another family issue!
I'm not giving up either! Be encouraged that you have more sales than I do. I'm preparing for Q4 now and getting uncomfortable knee-deep into group listings! 1 day at a time! As of yesterday, my Halloween listings just got 3K % increase in views! And a few favorites here and there. Do not give up ❤!! I know I am finally doing something right!

I have over 800 listings with 91 sales since Feb 24. I was constantly listing 4-8 listings per day regardless of weekends. Now i stopped evergreen listings and will list holiday special listings only. I didnt get any sales first month and now i got 23 sales on June. Do you have any advice for me Shawna? I appreciate it ❤

Hey there! I am so glad you enjoyed this one! So I have thousands of products in my expired folder... More of my listings are expired than active! After 8 to 12 months I usually just let them expire. So that is after 2 or 3 times of renewing with no sales. Something that used to do well but doesn't now... I usually keep around. Anything that started doing well, you will have wanted to double down on. This often keeps your original seller selling and your new designs will replace the old ones in sales volumes as you continue to create trendy designs that are popular right now in that niche! Hope this helps!

I’m 7 months in with 9 sales (5 organic). I listed one a day until I reached 100 listings, then 0 to 4 a day. I am actually creative by nature and love researching the market and creating designs. And yes, they do get better 😊

For easy search, I name my Printify items the same as my Canva designs. Although I have started to block save designs in one Canva project rather than individually.
When I download from Canva to my iPad, I always delete the downloads after uploading to Primtify so as not to clutter my photos.
I’m just wondering if there’s a better way to index❓

Hey there! I have actually had about 7000 to 8000 listings total but usually only keep about half of that live in my shop. I have been going through the process this year of cutting out all the listings that just haven't performed!

Add on: I also retained the star seller badge since around November last year. I only lost it because I have a specific friend who was a problem in my life who tries to use my shop to keep in touch with me when I've made clear it was time for us to move on. Very toxic person and wouldn't leave me alone so I missed it this month because I moved to texting them instead of answering one question inside etsy for them. Anyway, still a 5 star review shop!

wasnt like this before lol..I regret not taking more action and not treat it as a real business. I sold something FIRST day back in 2017. if I took this little bit more seriously I probably would have made 10x the income by now. best time to take action is NOW. everyday I get on the computer and pretty much ask myself exactly what I can do that will improve my shop little bit better than yesterday.

List list list but you have to pay 0.20c for each listing. Just 500 listings at 0.20c = $100 each month. Etsy is greedy! $100 is a whole lot when you're not getting sales.
Hey there! The $100 is a lot when you are NOT getting sales! I know that is frustrating! If you have 500 listings with no sales you are probably needing to work on the market research that is backing up the decisions you are making while designing. I will attach a playlist here that you might find of value when developing that skill. Something that puts this in perspective for me personally... if I wanted to start another type of small biz - let's say a pizza place - I would have to take out loans of probably well over $100,000 dollars and spend every waking moment at the restaurant. There is a 60 percent chance that it would fail within the first 3 years and you would be on the hook for that loan. When I started to really understand the effort and financial risk starting other types of small business brought I was able to appreciate the opportunity of using an online platform like Etsy paired with POD. Hey there I use Everbee and Erank. If I were to choose just one it would be Everbee for researching my title and my tags. Hope this helps!
Can I ask about the information under the actual description in a listing. I see listings that have paragraphs of additional info. Is that copy and paste template, that they put under the description or is there a place to fill out in the shop settings, so it's on all the posted listings? Like in the FAQ section? I wonder if it's a good idea to have so much text that is not always related to the product. I hope you understand what I'm talking about.

Bryony! Do NOT fell like a failure! Every time we miss the target we LEARN how to get just a little closer with our next try! I should do a video on one of the ways I have leaned into on how to get more listings up... If you list in niches like teacher s and nurses you can scale your designs out to all the staff positions under the3se large umbrellas and get a lot more bank for your buck! Im sruggling with sales too, I'm at 250 listings with 23 total sales. I have been listing since Aug last year, if I can only putchase one of your calendars, which of the two would you recommend for my situation?

Hey there! I think this is a great strategy, but I never really implemented it! I tried Pinterest for a while... even created an Instagram for my shop... but only posted maybe twice on it! I struggled with the consistency this strategy takes and wanted to just focus on the consistency of designing and listing! But it never ever hurts to drive interested shoppers to your listings!

I love your videos and ideas, Shawna. But I have to admit that after eight months and three sales and three hundred fifty listings, it’s starting to get expensive to continue listing at this rate. So when I hear you say that you were working for pennies an hour, I’m actually a little jealous because I’m paying to play at this point and I don’t have the money for it, just saying. Amazing video! I have been on Etsy a little over a year and have roughly 1300 sales. Mostly from Christmas and am struggling finding traction outside of Christmas listings. Do you think its sustainable to possibly just double down on Christmas and not worry so much about the rest of the year? I have limited time with me having a newborn baby. Lol
Congrats on 1300 sales! You can definitely do that ,but of course you will only make money at that time of year! If I were you I would probably pick one other niche that is evergreen to work on. Maybe birthday, teacher, nurse... (the list goes on) and maybe just work on Christmas and that niche sense you have limited time! I hope this helps!
I’m married and my husband doesn’t like this idea, so he doesn’t let me do it. I trie to start last year and I had to stop just one month after I was trying because he found out. I started again on April this year and now I’m working btw 11pm to 2am or until I can. While he sleeps So, he doesn’t find out too soon. I’m a Sahm with 2 years old girl. This is killing me and I’m not able to spend much time for learning and doing design, I have only 15 listings so far 😢. My back and my sleep it’s ruined and I can’t do it every night 😢. Sometimes i felt like I should give up, but then I remember my why and it’s to be able to get an income. I watch all your videos and I purchased your general calendar trying to have tools to help me to make it work sooner. But days like today I feel like giving up 😭. And I can work only during the week when he goes to sleep early 🤦♀️🤦♀️
Oh no Lorena! I am so sorry you are struggling! It sounds like you don't have any support in this journey. I think you have a stronger will than I do as I didn't have to overcome some of the challenges you are dealing with. I am always just a comment away if you need a pep talk and I am wishing you so much strength, happiness, success in every part of your life!

If I were you and assuming you decide to stay in this position, where your husband holds you back, I would watch the excellent and free POD course by RUclipsr, Simply POD with Mandy, in order to shorter the learning curve since time is an issue for you. Then I would sign up for Shawna's mentorship program and her offerings if you can. If you have a mom, friend or someone who could help you look after your 2 year old for a few hours a week through the daytime, I would use that time to work on the biz. I would food prep one day a week, so meals were quick and clean up was minimal. I would continue to work through those later hours as well, but be mindful of your health. Be realistic that it may take longer to see a decent amount of success. So if someone took 7 months with lots of hard work and lots of hours per day/week to see good results, then you might take 14 months or even 2 years to get there, but you can chip away at it. Your post really hit me. I don't have this issue, but I have heard of other women who have this issue. Good luck in whatever you decide to do.
