They have a lot more energy to catch people who harm children, from what I've seen the police have been relentless going after those who hurt kids, I guess because most have children themselves and can relate to what it would be like. The ones I know and seen they go after child abusers the hardest, and people who assault their wives, or women, the elderly. Police are people too with families and I'm sure they see more of the bad people than we do, they are much harder on crooks and abusers who hurt and take advantage of other people especially when the people are women, children, elderly. just from what I know about them.
