While we hate Turians in general for the FCW, Garrus is an absolute bro and should be loved and protected. And a meritocracy is very good if not overdone like all governing styles.
If it was OG BioWare, I'd be all about that; but I wouldn't trust EA or Ubisnot to pull off such a thing without the focus being entirely monetary; as opposed to art, story or what the players want.

Honestly I got to hand it to the council. Their intervention on the First Contact war not only prevented a drawn out conflit that would weaken the Turians and maybe destroy the Humans, they managed to improve relations between both races to the point that Humans and Turians are commercial partners and even have joint military programs. If the Batarians weren't such a tyranical and expansionist state, the Reaper war in ME3 could very well be the last Reaper Cycle (counting the cure of the genophage and peaceful resolution on rannoch).
Cure of genophage only poses a great risk of future Krogan expansionism. Shouldn't it be the opposite? Plus the Quarian and Geth truce that Shepard can achieve.
Just had to say that all your content is superb sir...... all this Mass Effect lore just fascinates me... Everything feels super real to me like it's possible that this could have happened on different planets... evolution is a crazy thing... What an absolutely amazing game LOL I had a lot of fun with it... especially when it came to more intimate encounters😉... saving the Galaxy was easy compared to trying to have fun with certain characters... Major credit to you and your Channel...
My favourite bit of lore about the Turians is that they had a insurrection just like the unsc did. I really like your wall painting theory though, I doubt its true but I've never heard it before and I think its cool. Btw do you think you'll ever make a discord?
Not much of a Mass Effect fan, but the Turian promotion culture is actually kinda neat. It puts appropriate responsibility on the people in charge of elevating their subordinates' status, and we don't see enough of that in current militaries.

Every species in the galaxy hates the batarians, the vorcha, the geth, the rachni and the krogan, most of the galaxy hates the quarians and won't let them immigrate to any planet or space station.

The Turians learned the Indomitable Human Spirit was, in fact, not a myth.
It was the salarians that made the genophage not the turians tho they helped deploy it they are not responsible for distribution
