As someone who struggles with sleep issues, thank you for giving me the perfect recipe to get some rest. You paint a great picture and the audio is chill enough to relax to. The Alien/Predator Universe is fascinating to me and AcidGlow is basically the leading " historian" IMO. That awesome storm allows my mind to wander to sleep in insomniac times. 10/10 content 👌
I always personally preffered the idea of the Jockey's ship coming from some parallel nightmarish dimension to ours as the result of some accidental time/space distortion. Something that's dissapointed me about later installments is how they steadily moved away from all that Lovecraftian cosmic horror laced throughout the original film. Dropping the biomechanical aspect of the Alien, giving it more aggressive animalistic traits and less unpredictability.
Thanks for helping me pin down what didn’t feel good about the two newest movies. They’re far too “scientific”. The moment those scientists take off their helmets it ruins the immersion. The Space Marines? Ripley? They were exactly what you would expect them to be. *to clarify, reasonably human
The space jockey fossil in the original film looked so creepy only to find out its just a space suit in the later films was pretty disappointing. I like your idea more.

Never got into the comics, but it’s very interesting to see them talked about in this format. And even more interesting to see more of the parallels that Metroid has with it, and it’s got me thinking of where the Metroid story line can go after Dread. I just hope the next Metroid 2D isn’t another 19 years away.
Apparently there’s two different lore universes where their origins are from. I liked the way alien vs predator explained it, where they’re an old species from a dangerous planet makes sense. A psycho robot playing god mixing ancient black jizz to create new life is pushing it lol.
Yeah I never liked that from Covenant. I’d rather it be an ancient hive that encounters humans for the first time. It had a large territory but knew not to fully convert the planet for fear of running out of food. So the humans are treated like invaders, a new threat but is also a curious one. And we also see the human crew react and discover the aliens, watching from a distance, as the hive is doing the same. Eventually conflict happens, hive is discovered and the humans leave, but not before a few stowaway aliens snuck aboard.
Actually you got it all wrong. That Robot did not create anything himself. He re-invented the wheel and pretended to be a genius (like how humans do when they discover laws of physics and act like they OWN them now). The Alien species originated waaaaay before that. They were created by architects and were done so deliberately. That robot barely re-created a process, and not even in a good way. Akin to a caveman getting fire out of stones when modern humans can use matches/lighter. The robot’s attempt at re-creating aliens was just a poor approximation at best. Aliens ARE dangerous Bio-weapon species similar to DC Doomsday - an organism that you drop on a hostile planet, wait for it to fully overtake and kill all life on the planet, then clean them up and conquer the world with relatively intact resources and infrastructure. And, very much like Doomsday, dealing with their leftover infestation carries a lot of risk - hence, not the best kind of bio-weapon. Predators realized that upon their discovery and stopped using Aliens for world-conquering purposes. Now they were used at gladiator arenas for cultural reason, on planets that are inconsequential and hardly matter to Predators (so, if the aliens get out, it does not matter since those planets pose no value to Predators). Like AvP movie shows. Aliens are failed bio-weapon product that got picked up by other species and used for meaningless purposes/entertainment. And Earth is just a small useless planet located on an edge of space. Forgotten and abandoned by any other sentient galactic races. Hence Aliens pop up on Earth/planets close to Earth - in Alien (first movie), Aliens overtook the ship and the ET pilot crash landed the ship to some random moon in the middle of nowhere, with a danger beacon.
The Engineers on Prometheus, look nothing like the aliens that David killed. Makes me feel like they were just another civilization that the engineers created, but not the actual engineers that created mankind.

@@joshuasmith6346 Well I'm sure you can find one online somewhere (especially the predator) but you can also make one for a lot cheaper if you put some time in! My little cousin wanted a xenomorph costume too, and I managed to make a pretty good one using a morph suit, a bicycle helmet, cardboard, foam, a pool float, and silicon resin (for the shine). So the quick version is to make everything from cardboard and foam, carve it into the shapes, coat in silicon resin for the smooth shiny surface, then glue all the pieces together or on the morph suit (I used Gorilla Glue). Have the eyeholes in the head be in the mouth, everything attached to the helmet so you can strap it on. Then the tail is the pool float that you carve up into the shapes (with cardboard too) then cover with silicon resin to make it shiny. In the end, you'll have a very unwieldy costume, haha, but it looks like the xenomorph quite well! Also, clear setting pva glue makes good drool between the teeth!
I really appreciate whoever created this for taking the time to thoroughly and easily explain the lore and backstory that the movies and stuff never deliver on. Im really fascinated by the Alien/Predator universe,because to tell the truth some of it may not be that far fetched. You can guarantee there has to be more lofe out there.
For Alien Earthbound, while it wasn't made into a movie there was a very similar concept used for the Alien Omnibus Book. Aliens did manage to go to earth and (spoiler) the crew had to kill a mother queen to get rid of the alien infestation on Earth (Which I would LOVE to see as a movie).
Alien Isolation should've been the prequel to Alien in a theaters fashion. I'm talking bout taking the whole entire game word for word retrieving the black box to her mom's ship and putting it to film format. Amanda keeps telling us the viewers how much she missed her mom Ellen Ripley and desperately wanting to find out her whereabouts as well as the crew members. Then go back in time we the viewers never saw Ellen Ripley and her crewmembers that's when you bring in the first Alien movie comes into play. *Prometheus* and *Alien Covenant* are like tie-ins for the Alien franchise line of movies. It will be canon something like a Jonathan Hickman run on a Marvel Comics publications. The two movies mentioned above take place in the past they simultaneously happen within the time frame of the first Alien movie. It's a new take of fresh storytelling to masses.
i am playing isolation now. had it for a while but didn't have the courage to play. it's such a good game, and it doesn't need multiple xenomorphs lol.
I was introduced to the franchise with prometheus, so for me i enjoyed the movie, mostly because i enjoy lore, doesnt really matter what lore. However i throughly enjoyed the new editions of this franchise. I just wish we could get more of the engineers in these movies, i refuse to believe the beings on planet 4 were engineers. I think they were another seeded planet. On crofts channel he talks about a speech the engineer gave before ripping davids head off, it explained alot.
The Berserker setup is kind of like how in Neon Genesis they would also have to have a mental link to their EVAs (also similar set up to the show “Darling in the Franxx”) 😂❤ Also love your videos, it’s great to listen to while at work!

My idea is to cross blade runner with Alien. ... the story goes as follows. (Short version) The blade runner is doing his job by tracking and killing replicants... he comes across a replicant repair shop... there he finds a broke android being repaired... what he don't know is that this android was on a survey space mission in space many years ago and discovered the Alien... he was the only surviver... the android begins to tell him the story of his misson... but is interrupted several times during the film because the powers at be wants him destroyed... the blade runner is caught up as well try to protect the android. The films goes back and forth from the present to the past... from the android narrating the mission... to the blade runner protecting the android... in the end the android tells how an old (age) engineers trick and killed his team, created the first facehugger... but was impregnated by the facehugger... which exploded out of his chest pre launch... the blade runner discovered that Peter Weyland was behind the hit... he kills Peter but die during the process... the android goes out in to the void... and begins to build an android (ash) to destroy "MOTHER".... but that's part 2... the end
Very interesting video with some nice details about the Berserker Max suits. I have to check the rulebook, but I believe the Max suit is in the Aliens vs Predator Unleashed table rop game. Prodos never came around to release an actual mini for the game. I'll have 3d print it
I'd love to see weird, non-canon, alternate versions of the Xenomorphs, like the Dr.Church ones, but I know the internet would probably not take these weird Xeno versions kindly, like what they did for the Hybrid Predator in The Predator :\ lol or the Newborn Xeno in Resurrection

All dogs have the capacity of predatory acts. But some dog breeds are far more aggressive and better at it. Same logic applies. Also, Aliens work like bee-hives. Not all alien drone types are made to fight. Some are to collect bio-mass. Some are to fight. Some are to build walls from their mucus to create the hive etc. Some are to protect the Queen etc. All Aliens have the capacity to be hostile, but the hostility varies, just like German Shepherd is a far better home guard than Corgi, lol
Well....That explains one reason why AvP: Requiem was so terrible. All they had to do was follow Noriko's story, for those movies. Sometimes "Hollywood" needs to just follow the source material.
The grand daughter aspect of the Alien: Earthbound script makes no sense since in Aliens, Carter J. Burke clearly says that Amanda Ripley-McClaren, Ripley's daughter, died at age 66 and had no children. Which is extremely important to the character of Ripley and the story and explains more about why Ripley bonded with Newt in the Aliens movie. If she had a grand daughter don't you think she would've HAD to go find and meet her instead of returning to LV-426? I think Alien: Earthbound would've been just as bad as Alien: Resurrection.
@@AcidGlow thats just a matter of personal taste. personally i think they only would benefit from a new story chapter. But since i dont think they gonna create a hole new part, its more likely they add one or two new horde mode maps instead. If thats the case these four new weapons and ten gun attachments, looks like the only things in season two to look forward to from my perspective. But sadly Aliens Fireteam has run it's course, and thats because Cold iron did not seem to have a very expansive alien game planned from the beginning. They may have wanted to make one originally, but budget restraints and the pandemic can be felt when playing it. I was digging everything this game had to offer when it launched, despite its flaws. But i have realized even before I looked at thier road map, that they have no will to revive the product and do something diffrent. Thier are so many types of content based expansions they could add in the future, but its not something i think they will do. I was hoping for more diffrent stuff that would appeal to all kinds of Aliens fans, but its not over yet. Season two is not out yet so i'm not gonna say too much, but i have bad feeling. For christ sake, they did not even bother to put in a cut scene or two. At least that would have given the game some extra atmosphere and feeling, and it would not be much to ask for from such a huge franchise. They also by passed the entire exploration/horror/survival aspect, witch has proven to be key in an Alien/Aliens game. What makes these games fun in the long term is when a developer shows passion, just like what we saw in Isolation (2014). It wasnt a perfect game, but it was something really diffrent. FTE has Only a linear map system, only meant to be played over and over and over and over. I had fun with it because i convinced my self everything was alright since ive been waiting for the last 7 years. For two or three years Isolation felt like a fresh game, and its still is! it was even released together with two DLC:s! This game has so little content, they had to cut out base content, and what we have left is a product that feels shallow. to make one add-ons used to be an art form in gaming world. Now its just skin package and its called "DLC". Its sad, and a huge let down because we talk about one of the biggest sci-fi movies of all time here so the bar should be set high. I fear this game, despite being a good shooter with nice looks and some neat lore elements, can't even survive three/four months because of the devs short terms thinking. I gave them the benefit of the doubt since day one, all the way up to almost 300 hours. I hope so much they will blow our minds in the up coming expansions, and acually invent something new that would feel exciting to play. But based on interviews i've heard with Craig and Matt from Cold Iron, a versus mode won't be to FTE. they have said it them self's, so if you acually have hopes that they do that you cant have listened much on what they have said. But i can agree it would be fun with versus, anything just for the sake of change and variation in the game play. but its not realistic at this point they go that way with the little money they have. FTE will always focus on co-op, so if they gonna expand on thier own formula its gonna be in that fashion. Lets hope they are more creative this time around, and lets hope they acually to bring us something that we havent seen before. They have all the tools
And actually in the original script the deacon alien was actually called the Beluga - Xenomorph. Also I really like the design of the Octo-Facehugger and I hope they add that in the games and comics
Those berserker combat units sound a lot like space marine dreadnaughts. In warhammer 40K there is a space marine unit called a Dreadnaught. When a rather experienced space marine is to critically injured to fight they are entombed into a cyberorganic sarcophagus which acts as a neural link and life support system. These are then attached to a dreadnaught a cybernetic combat walker protected by thick layers of armor and can be equipped with various weapons to deal with both light and heavy targets.
They should make an Unknown Cinematic Universe (can't call it Alien hahahaha) - throw everyone (the thing, xenomorphs, species, yautja, engineers, etc)

Iv listened to aliens audio books and alien vs predator and loved them all honesty. I'd watch each one as a movie given they used most content from the books . Wish this guy would read them to us he's a good voice for it
The bad guys of the alien franchise are the synthetics. The Xenos are more of a……device, a tool. They’re a means to an end. It’s obvious that the synthetics look down on humanity. They see humans as just another animal to be experimented on. Just look at what David did to Shaw. The newer films seem to be trying to hammer that point home. No matter how hard they try they’ll never be able to recreate the feel of the first 2 movies. I really don’t like these cash grabby type of movies. Yea, the fans of alien wanted a continuation of the story but I think closure would have been much more gratifying.
I don't understand why people keep on demanding to bring old characters like Ripley and bishop , it makes it more complicated to come up with good and fresh stories with xenomorphs . Will restrict creator's imagination and waste a huge portion thinking how to shove Ripley like old characters in this new story and try hard to do it convincingly . Which usually ends up horribly . It sucks .
I like the idea of retconning it so the engineers discover the 'xenomorph/goo' and their brains are simply shown to be advanced enough to understand it and therefore extract it/reengineer it cleverly. When they're drinking the black goo and seeding dna goo? They're doing it as a form of offering to their 'God'. Maybe even further than that; have the engineers have differing views. Some of them use it to get jacked and huge and fit in at a Giger Bar. And some of them just enjoy drinking wine, being bald and wearing...greco roman shit. Idk.
what is confuseing is if david made the alien why did alens exist before david the predators hunt the aliens for rituals (to my memory) they did this since humans were still in tribes

I also can't believe that one of those Xeno-what-evers' wouldn't have ripped off David's head or other appendages off, the law of averages just doesn't work like that. Ridley Scott certainly missed the boat thinking he knew better than the fans in terms of what they wanted, suspect that is that now for Alien - great visuals ain't enough Scott!... as Peter Weyland said... for me both promethues nad covenant are not canon , hate both movies and dont add anything decent to the alien lore . was a forced way to make prometheus a alien movie.
It was the only way to explain a silly and clearly humanised biomechanical alien that has biomechanics apart of it instead of its natural path of evolution. They already made the mistake of making the first alien a bio machine not a biological being
no disrespect to all, i just heard this on interwebs. so if the facehugger was functionally independent, i mean in any regard for any alien period, then all xenomorph of any class would be equally at risk from parasitic implantation. thus the secondary jaws were developed to ensure the safety of the species as a whole, through being impervious to implantation as individuals. or i should go to rehab, maybe. lol, have we talked about entropy lately? delicious entropy, mmmmmm.

The real question is why handsome squidward resemble the engineer's? Aliens confirmed in spoogebob lore.
For Alien Earthbound, while it wasn't made into a movie there was a very similar concept used for the Alien Omnibus Book. Aliens did manage to go to earth and (spoiler) the crew had to kill a mother queen to get rid of the alien infestation on Earth (Which I would LOVE to see as a movie).
Alien Isolation should've been the prequel to Alien in a theaters fashion. I'm talking bout taking the whole entire game word for word retrieving the black box to her mom's ship and putting it to film format. Amanda keeps telling us the viewers how much she missed her mom Ellen Ripley and desperately wanting to find out her whereabouts as well as the crew members. Then go back in time we the viewers never saw Ellen Ripley and her crewmembers that's when you bring in the first Alien movie comes into play. *Prometheus* and *Alien Covenant* are like tie-ins for the Alien franchise line of movies. It will be canon something like a Jonathan Hickman run on a Marvel Comics publications. The two movies mentioned above take place in the past they simultaneously happen within the time frame of the first Alien movie. It's a new take of fresh storytelling to masses.
i am playing isolation now. had it for a while but didn't have the courage to play. it's such a good game, and it doesn't need multiple xenomorphs lol.

I was introduced to the franchise with prometheus, so for me i enjoyed the movie, mostly because i enjoy lore, doesnt really matter what lore.
However i throughly enjoyed the new editions of this franchise.
I just wish we could get more of the engineers in these movies, i refuse to believe the beings on planet 4 were engineers. I think they were another seeded planet.
On crofts channel he talks about a speech the engineer gave before ripping davids head off, it explained alot.
The Berserker setup is kind of like how in Neon Genesis they would also have to have a mental link to their EVAs (also similar set up to the show “Darling in the Franxx”) 😂❤ Also love your videos, it’s great to listen to while at work!

My idea is to cross blade runner with Alien. ... the story goes as follows. (Short version) The blade runner is doing his job by tracking and killing replicants... he comes across a replicant repair shop... there he finds a broke android being repaired... what he don't know is that this android was on a survey space mission in space many years ago and discovered the Alien... he was the only surviver... the android begins to tell him the story of his misson... but is interrupted several times during the film because the powers at be wants him destroyed... the blade runner is caught up as well try to protect the android. The films goes back and forth from the present to the past... from the android narrating the mission... to the blade runner protecting the android... in the end the android tells how an old (age) engineers trick and killed his team, created the first facehugger... but was impregnated by the facehugger... which exploded out of his chest pre launch... the blade runner discovered that Peter Weyland was behind the hit... he kills Peter but die during the process... the android goes out in to the void... and begins to build an android (ash) to destroy "MOTHER".... but that's part 2... the end
Very interesting video with some nice details about the Berserker Max suits. I have to check the rulebook, but I believe the Max suit is in the Aliens vs Predator Unleashed table rop game. Prodos never came around to release an actual mini for the game. I'll have 3d print it

I'd love to see weird, non-canon, alternate versions of the Xenomorphs, like the Dr.Church ones, but I know the internet would probably not take these weird Xeno versions kindly, like what they did for the Hybrid Predator in The Predator :\ lol or the Newborn Xeno in Resurrection
Sometimes I wish the franchise just ended with alien. Just a terrifying tale of a mysterious creature it just feels better not being over explained

All dogs have the capacity of predatory acts. But some dog breeds are far more aggressive and better at it.
Same logic applies.
Also, Aliens work like bee-hives. Not all alien drone types are made to fight. Some are to collect bio-mass. Some are to fight. Some are to build walls from their mucus to create the hive etc. Some are to protect the Queen etc.
All Aliens have the capacity to be hostile, but the hostility varies, just like German Shepherd is a far better home guard than Corgi, lol

The grand daughter aspect of the Alien: Earthbound script makes no sense since in Aliens, Carter J. Burke clearly says that Amanda Ripley-McClaren, Ripley's daughter, died at age 66 and had no children. Which is extremely important to the character of Ripley and the story and explains more about why Ripley bonded with Newt in the Aliens movie. If she had a grand daughter don't you think she would've HAD to go find and meet her instead of returning to LV-426?
I think Alien: Earthbound would've been just as bad as Alien: Resurrection.

@@AcidGlow thats just a matter of personal taste. personally i think they only would benefit from a new story chapter. But since i dont think they gonna create a hole new part, its more likely they add one or two new horde mode maps instead. If thats the case these four new weapons and ten gun attachments, looks like the only things in season two to look forward to from my perspective. But sadly Aliens Fireteam has run it's course, and thats because Cold iron did not seem to have a very expansive alien game planned from the beginning. They may have wanted to make one originally, but budget restraints and the pandemic can be felt when playing it. I was digging everything this game had to offer when it launched, despite its flaws. But i have realized even before I looked at thier road map, that they have no will to revive the product and do something diffrent. Thier are so many types of content based expansions they could add in the future, but its not something i think they will do. I was hoping for more diffrent stuff that would appeal to all kinds of Aliens fans, but its not over yet. Season two is not out yet so i'm not gonna say too much, but i have bad feeling. For christ sake, they did not even bother to put in a cut scene or two. At least that would have given the game some extra atmosphere and feeling, and it would not be much to ask for from such a huge franchise. They also by passed the entire exploration/horror/survival aspect, witch has proven to be key in an Alien/Aliens game. What makes these games fun in the long term is when a developer shows passion, just like what we saw in Isolation (2014). It wasnt a perfect game, but it was something really diffrent. FTE has Only a linear map system, only meant to be played over and over and over and over. I had fun with it because i convinced my self everything was alright since ive been waiting for the last 7 years. For two or three years Isolation felt like a fresh game, and its still is! it was even released together with two DLC:s! This game has so little content, they had to cut out base content, and what we have left is a product that feels shallow. to make one add-ons used to be an art form in gaming world. Now its just skin package and its called "DLC". Its sad, and a huge let down because we talk about one of the biggest sci-fi movies of all time here so the bar should be set high. I fear this game, despite being a good shooter with nice looks and some neat lore elements, can't even survive three/four months because of the devs short terms thinking. I gave them the benefit of the doubt since day one, all the way up to almost 300 hours. I hope so much they will blow our minds in the up coming expansions, and acually invent something new that would feel exciting to play. But based on interviews i've heard with Craig and Matt from Cold Iron, a versus mode won't be to FTE. they have said it them self's, so if you acually have hopes that they do that you cant have listened much on what they have said. But i can agree it would be fun with versus, anything just for the sake of change and variation in the game play. but its not realistic at this point they go that way with the little money they have. FTE will always focus on co-op, so if they gonna expand on thier own formula its gonna be in that fashion. Lets hope they are more creative this time around, and lets hope they acually to bring us something that we havent seen before. They have all the tools
And actually in the original script the deacon alien was actually called the Beluga - Xenomorph. Also I really like the design of the Octo-Facehugger and I hope they add that in the games and comics
alien resurrection definitely wanted to do the hybrid thing with ripley especially considering shes a clone with the alien dna in that movie as well.
Those berserker combat units sound a lot like space marine dreadnaughts. In warhammer 40K there is a space marine unit called a Dreadnaught. When a rather experienced space marine is to critically injured to fight they are entombed into a cyberorganic sarcophagus which acts as a neural link and life support system. These are then attached to a dreadnaught a cybernetic combat walker protected by thick layers of armor and can be equipped with various weapons to deal with both light and heavy targets.

I think the original plan was to have David create the Xenomorph... the way the engineers created man...man created androids and he created the Xeno... probably using himself... hence the mechanical(looking) body
I would love to see a show or movie where they countiue Ripley 8 and her cloned Xenomorphs story she becomes Queen she would plan to meet her OG counterpart with using time machine then Ripley 8 save Acheron Queen and make an offer with OG Ripley they would have happy ending like in Alien 5 novel

Iv listened to aliens audio books and alien vs predator and loved them all honesty. I'd watch each one as a movie given they used most content from the books . Wish this guy would read them to us he's a good voice for it
The bad guys of the alien franchise are the synthetics. The Xenos are more of a……device, a tool. They’re a means to an end. It’s obvious that the synthetics look down on humanity. They see humans as just another animal to be experimented on. Just look at what David did to Shaw.
The newer films seem to be trying to hammer that point home. No matter how hard they try they’ll never be able to recreate the feel of the first 2 movies. I really don’t like these cash grabby type of movies. Yea, the fans of alien wanted a continuation of the story but I think closure would have been much more gratifying.

I don't understand why people keep on demanding to bring old characters like Ripley and bishop , it makes it more complicated to come up with good and fresh stories with xenomorphs . Will restrict creator's imagination and waste a huge portion thinking how to shove Ripley like old characters in this new story and try hard to do it convincingly . Which usually ends up horribly . It sucks .

I like the idea of retconning it so the engineers discover the 'xenomorph/goo' and their brains are simply shown to be advanced enough to understand it and therefore extract it/reengineer it cleverly. When they're drinking the black goo and seeding dna goo? They're doing it as a form of offering to their 'God'. Maybe even further than that; have the engineers have differing views. Some of them use it to get jacked and huge and fit in at a Giger Bar. And some of them just enjoy drinking wine, being bald and wearing...greco roman shit. Idk.

Great compilation - thank you! Alien Covenant, what a sh1t show that is; I can't buy into a single robot creating aliens and looking to destroy mankind thereafter. I also can't believe that one of those Xeno-what-evers' wouldn't have ripped off David's head or other appendages off, the law of averages just doesn't work like that. Ridley Scott certainly missed the boat thinking he knew better than the fans in terms of what they wanted, suspect that is that now for Alien - great visuals ain't enough Scott!... as Peter Weyland said... It was the only way to explain a silly and clearly humanised biomechanical alien that has biomechanics apart of it instead of its natural path of evolution. They already made the mistake of making the first alien a bio machine not a biological being
no disrespect to all, i just heard this on interwebs. so if the facehugger was functionally independent, i mean in any regard for any alien period, then all xenomorph of any class would be equally at risk from parasitic implantation. thus the secondary jaws were developed to ensure the safety of the species as a whole, through being impervious to implantation as individuals. or i should go to rehab, maybe. lol, have we talked about entropy lately? delicious entropy, mmmmmm.
