Ke suddenly transformed back to being a kid again in the arms of Harrison Ford. For most of us, it doesn't matter how old we get, there's always those elders who cared for us as children and that relationship will never change.
The only time in 20 years of watching the Oscars that it ever made me tear up. Ke Huy Quan seems like the most genuine personality in the jaded town of Hollywood. Or if he's faking it, he's actually the best actor to ever live. Either way he deserved the Oscar.
I don't think he:s faking his excitement n exuberance. I know some adult Asians who when experiencing a very positive life changing experience would react like this in an almost child like manner, they just can't contain their happiness
I'm not even an Indiana Jones fan, but I was choked up seeing that reunion. We really got to see someones inner child have a moment, that doesnt happen often.
Ke’s comeback might be the greatest in all of Hollywood history. How many people have taken a break from acting for 20 years only to return and win an Oscar in their very first film? I’m guessing the number is zero. That would be like taking a break from tennis for 20 years and coming back to win Wimbledon in their very first tournament. Truly incredible story.
@@tab5470you do know this is not 1950 anymore, right? Ke is a brilliant actor but he returned to filming because he still had connections which is all the help you need. Absolutely glorious moments, when Brendon won, when Key won, and Michelle won. They all absolutely one hundred percent deserve it and it brought a little bit of magic back to Hollywood.
The moment when Ford handed the trophy to Quan, Quan immediately turned and pointed to Johnathan Wang the producer to have Wang accepting the trophy. Even in such excitement, Quan is still so selfless. That's how you tell a genuinely wonderful soul, pure class. Edit: Thanks to the comments pointing out that the producer is supposed to take the trophy. What I wanted to point out (and what impressed me) is Quan still REMEMBER that and act appropriately on the biggest stage of his life. After all those years being overlooked, he just won an Oscar for himself earlier that night, and his oldest friend in Hollywood is handing him the trophy of the biggest award. If he really took it from Ford, I think no one will really blame him. But he didn’t, without any hesitation. That’s not an easy thing to do, especially after witnessing the slapping last year.
That’s because the best picture trophy goes to the producers of the film, not the cast - even though they all go up. ‘Best picture’ is essentially rewarding the producers that made the best film, not awarding everyone involved like it might seem.
He was pointing Harrison toward Jonathan Wang (one of the producers of the film) because it’s his Oscar, not Ke’s necessarily. Best picture is more akin to a ‘best producer/s’ award, though it seems like the sort of award that all the cast and crew should get a trophy for. In actual fact it’s only the producers who take home a trophy for a best picture win.
Looking at Ke Huy Quan hugging Harrison Ford like a fanboy is absolutely heartwarming. Edit: I do know that Ford and Quan worked together in the Indiana* Jones movie years ago :) Maybe “fanboy” is not the right word, but to see the close affinity displayed between Ford and Quan after all these years is really heartwarming to see.
Not a fan boy... that was 39 years ago... but two old friends whose lives have come full circle 39 years later... Ke Huy Quan was so deserving of this Oscar and of his great recognition all throughout awards season. I was blown away with how good Quan is in this movie. I just thought he was brilliant. And how can you not LOVE him? I was very happy to see him win.
I saw an interview where Michelle described seeing the first take of him "transforming" into Alpha Waymond in the elevator and she was like... wow this guy is going to crush this movie.

The best part is, Ford seems almost as enthusiastic about the whole thing as Ke was. I say "almost" because, let's face it, Ke's energy at that moment would be hard for a lot of people to match, LOL
This was honestly the absolute best best reaction to winning an Oscar ive ever seen. Also I saw him on the round table yesterday and he was complimenting everyone ( every other actor at the table) my respect for this man has grown exponentially in two days.
I just went back to watch clips of Ke Huy Quan with Harrison Ford in the Indiana Jones Temple of Doom movie, and the scenes were incredible. They were so funny together. I remember watching the film as a 9 year old and loving it. Brings back sweet memories.
Thank you for showing the moment between Ford and Quan. It was a great show all around but Ke Hy Quan's enthusiasm, as well as Jamie Lee Curtis's, made the show so much more enjoyable. Couldn't help laugh and cry with them.
THIS year was such a feel-good Oscars🤗, mainly thanks to Brendan, Ke Huy, Jamie Lee, and Michelle. I loved that there is almost a shared cinematic universe between all of them: Ke Huy and Brendan in Encino Man, Brendan and Michelle in The Mummy 3, and of course, Ke Huy and Harrison in Indiana Jones 2. I would venture to guess that Ke Huy wasn't the only one transported back to his childhood when that heart-warming hug happened - most of us Goonies and Indy kids would been jumping for joy as well. And to see Steven like a proud dad in the audience? Cherry on the top.
Everyone likes to see someone who is humble and down to earth win something because people can relate to this person more. Glad Ke Hy Quan won. I thought he was fantastic in Temple of Doom!
The real telling moment of this clip to me was at 1:12 when Harrison tried to hand him the statue and Ke just stepped back and excitedly pointed to (I’m not sure if it was the director or the producer) excitement joy and humility all rolled into one moment.
This was one of the most wholesome oscar moments of all time. Too bad Harrison was not able to give Ke the best actor in a supporting role oscar directly, Such a missed opportunity.
*This made my entire night. Ke truly deserved this and I'm so happy this incredible film and more importantly, the cast and crew, are getting the recognition they deserve!* ❤️

Key and Brendan winning big in the Oscars brings so much joy to the movie fan within me. I never thought I would see the day where "the kid" from Temple of Doom would win an Oscar. And I love that the character of Waymond was the reason. Faith in Humanity restored.
First Stephen Spielberg expresses his admiration for Ke Huy Quan's Golden Globe win and now Harrison Ford, Indiana Jones himself, has come forth with similar feelings for Ke's Supporting Actor Oscar and watching as the film Ke worked in win's Best Picture. Wow, it's like two past father-figures showing how proud they are of someone they considered a son accomplishing big time success for himself.
I never saw a man float like that before. Truly amazing. When he went on stage and then went backstage for the Q and A he literally floated across the floor with joy.
Ke Huy Quan's ability to feel and emote unabashed pure joy is just the most wholesome thing. He jumps up and down and screams with happiness. It can't help but make me smile in happiness for him. What a perfect role Waymond was for him, it seems to be tied closely to Ke Huy as a person. ❤️👁️❤️ Love EEAAO so much.

Ke Huy Quan, he was a good child actor decades ago and brought back the good old 80s where he was part of the films The Goonies and Indian Jones. Good to see him doing great and won an award!
Everything Everywhere all at Once wasn't my favorite pick to win (although it certainly had its moments) However, Ke Huy was very deserving of this award. He's not only a great actor but also such an incredibly great and humble guy. Always authentically himself during interviews and such, and I love that about him.

All of then from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. I recall seeing that film 39 years ago and I've been an Indiana Jones fan since the very first film. So it was great to see them all together in the same room again.❤💘🥲
I would have loved to see the 4 of them together
@@alisontopalian8592 Never forget the late Amrish Puri and Roshan Seth. They played the villains incredibly awesome! 😅😅
Pure magic. You could see the admiration they have for each other. Heartwarming. Best Oscars EVER.
I wanted to cry!!! I’m so happy ke won best supporting actor. He will always be part of my childhood memories of the 80s ❤❤❤❤
I just went back to watch clips of Ke Huy Quan with Harrison Ford in the Indiana Jones Temple of Doom movie, and the scenes were incredible. They were so funny together. I remember watching the film as a 9 year old and loving it. Brings back sweet memories.
The chemistry ranging from "you cheat, Dr. Jones!" to "Indy, you're my best friend. I LOVE YOU!!" Always captivating!
Thank you for showing the moment between Ford and Quan. It was a great show all around but Ke Hy Quan's enthusiasm, as well as Jamie Lee Curtis's, made the show so much more enjoyable. Couldn't help laugh and cry with them.
Growing up with Indiana Jones and the Goonies, I am so here for these moments. I'm not crying, you are....
He's like a 4 year old kid meeting his dad after a busy office week so precious 💞💞
Oh my goodness. I don't know how many times I have watched this and bawl like a baby each time. Such sweetness!
Watching the all grown up Short-Round giving that kiss to his Doctor Jones... I can't hold it in, man...
So beautifully touching.
😭😭😭😭😭
Cherry on the top.
true very cool!
Honestly, Ke's energy is so infectious! LOVE him so much and I so happy to see his star on the rise!
It was a bit like Benini humbleness.
Everyone likes to see someone who is humble and down to earth win something because people can relate to this person more. Glad Ke Hy Quan won. I thought he was fantastic in Temple of Doom!
Love how Ke Huy Quan still has a kind of innocence
The real telling moment of this clip to me was at 1:12 when Harrison tried to hand him the statue and Ke just stepped back and excitedly pointed to (I’m not sure if it was the director or the producer) excitement joy and humility all rolled into one moment.
The way he directs him to process the awarding, that's so humble 💛
Last year’s Oscars was an unfriendly slap in the face, but this year’s Oscars was full hugs, brotherly love and triumph. ❤
This was one of the most wholesome oscar moments of all time. Too bad Harrison was not able to give Ke the best actor in a supporting role oscar directly, Such a missed opportunity.
Harrison Ford is too much of a Hollywood legend to present Best Supporting Actor.
@@Diapontios And that would be so obvious to reveal who's the winner.

That too
This was the best Oscars. EVER. I loved to see everyone. The gowns. All the winners were deserving
*This made my entire night. Ke truly deserved this and I'm so happy this incredible film and more importantly, the cast and crew, are getting the recognition they deserve!* ❤️
I'M not crying - YOU'RE crying!! Just beyond touching! What a moment!!
So refreshing to see actors showing their true feelings of joy.
The best moment of the Oscar's. No message, sincere, honest, amazing.
Watching this again made me cried. Such a triumph moment. So beautiful and such a warm reunion we all waited for.
Here I was expecting Brendan Fraser’s win to be the highlight. Little did I know we would get an Indy and Short Round reunion 😭. It makes my heart so happy!!
plus Brendan & Ke in Encino Man!
Love how much Ke still looks up to Harrison. Fantastic
Like a childhood hero. Like when Indy and Short Round gave each other back their hats in Temple of Doom, then hugged....this hug was a long awaited reunion of that inspiring hug. Heartwarming back then, and heartwarming now.
Ke's emotional outbursts that evening brought tears to my eyes 🥹
Best moment of the night. Ke is so genuine and sweet.
Amazing how the 3 of them finally meet again after decades!! Really touching moment for them and also for us, the fans^^
This was no acting, but real heart to heart warmth that was waiting for so many years. Overwhelming and feel good. Congratulations to Qui on his oscar win, well deserved.
That dude's smile is such child-like joy...such a happy day for Ke Huy Quan & everyone in that movie and his friends from the past. He will never forget this night nor shall we..congrats!
Love seeing Ke and Harrison together it is so heart warming
as a Indiana Jones fan, Ke Huy Quan's comeback is definitely something to bring back the past on Hollywood. That very moment with Quan and Harrison Ford shows how much the co-stars truly care each other. And their reunion is the biggest of all other reunions
Harrison Ford was only nominated for an Oscar Award for Witness that he didn’t win.
Noble of Mr. Ford to honor the win of his costar.
Watching Ke hugging and Harrison Ford together made me cry...what a legacy!!!!!
My son is named after Harrison Ford (obsessed fan Forever!) So everything I see with Ke I cry automatically with such joy for him! He teaches everyone joy, how to reach your dreams & appreciate every single thing in life❤️❤️❤️🥰🥰🥰🤗🤗🌟🌟🌟👏👏👏
Indy and Short Round together on the world's biggest stage at last together sharing this moment!
That moment would have been a great movie, such a positive rebound from last year. Good for Ke. 👍❤️
Key and Brendan winning big in the Oscars brings so much joy to the movie fan within me. I never thought I would see the day where "the kid" from Temple of Doom would win an Oscar.
And I love that the character of Waymond was the reason. Faith in Humanity restored.
i just love how you present your ideas, videos and comments always coming from the heart and kindly manner 💛
Man I felt that hug, that was wonderful
First Stephen Spielberg expresses his admiration for Ke Huy Quan's Golden Globe win and now Harrison Ford, Indiana Jones himself, has come forth with similar feelings for Ke's Supporting Actor Oscar and watching as the film Ke worked in win's Best Picture. Wow, it's like two past father-figures showing how proud they are of someone they considered a son accomplishing big time success for himself.
I have loved him since I was an 80s baby growing up with the Goonies and Indiana Jones.. so beyond happy for him
i never cry about anything like ever
but this dudes journy pulls on the heart strings pretty hard
Ke huay is such a wholesome fellow. Fully deserved too, best film I've seen in years.
I never saw a man float like that before. Truly amazing. When he went on stage and then went backstage for the Q and A he literally floated across the floor with joy.
Ke is just as adorable as he was as a kid. 🥰 So charming.
This guy is the purest soul i've ever seen!
So awesome! He deserves the win. His performance in that movie was amazing. I think he could've won best actor if he was in that category.
I think the best part is how normally Harrison ford just seems so grumpy. I think this was litterally the first time he looked happy for someone!
It’s so awesome to see him get the recognition he deserves. He’s come a long way from being Short Round and Data from Goonies. Congrats!
He is such a bundle of positive energy, so pleased for him 💖🌟
I grew up watching Ke Huy, when he did Temple of Doom, and Goonies. I think it's wonderful that he's gotten an Oscar. He truly deserves it.
I'm so happy for Ke . Well deserved 👏, ahh man there's no words just so much joy . That later on in life chance 🙌 a chance , one more chance and look what happens . Seeing Ke win and full of emotion brings me back to that inner kid in me cheering him on and still am . CONGRATULATIONS KE 🍾 🎊
Congratulations Ke!
In a film of super talented actors this guy really deserved it. I was floored by his quietly escalating character that I started realizing was done so perfectly. Congratulations and hope we see more from this Oscar Winning Actor!
I’m a grown ass man but I’m in tears seeing this clip
Same here
I was not that familiar with Ke Huy Quan but after last night's show I'm a die hard fan. This man is joy personified. Absolutely adore him.
If you've never seen him in "The Goonies," you'd love it! I've seen it over 25 times since I was a child. I love every actor in it, which is why I was so happy to see Ke's return to the big screen.
Got tears. I'm so happy. Let this sustain me through this day...
