If for travel purpose, I prefer the zipper one. Better if the travel wallet has some kind of ring for attaching a strap, so I can wear the strapped wallet around my neck. Then, I’ll put on a windbreaker and zip it up, then I’ll be worry-free about my belongings for the whole air flight.

Bifold for me, don't enjoy the bulk of a zippered case for a case that will serve me only 1 purpose (keeping my passport) as I don't tend to put all my eggs in 1 basket(passport, credit card/cash).
I'm using the affordable Montbell Trail Passport case, quite similar to the Alpaka, Ark and Allett one (wow they all starts with and A!).
The card slots opening of the Montbell are oriented on the sides so theres no risk of them falling out when the case is close.
+1 for bifold
For the zip one (I like having another layer of securtiy deterent) would it fit in the "secret" pocket on the back of sling bags that have them??
might be a bit tight, but I'd recommend asking Alpaka customer support - they'll know for sure
Put the passport in the bi-fold. Turn the bi-fold upside down and give it a gentle shake. Does it fall out? What I've seen from similar wallets (i.e. Pioneer) is that the pocket might stretch which doesn't do a good job of securing the item in place. For a passport that could be a real problem. For security I'm Team Zipper. Putting the passport in the outside pocket just while traversing the customs line for ease of access but then securing it back inside once past it. I have the Bellroy Travel wallet since it holds my passport securely. Great Video again Aaron!!

@@Nomads.Nation If you have to shake it hard to get it to fall out you should be fine. If it falls from a "gentle" shake then beware. If you reach into a pocket or sling to pull it out and the passport falls out... that's a problem.

With your fyro T22 is it possible to refund (and return) it once it arrives (after getting it through backing the kickstarter) if I find it doesn't suit my needs (for the same price of backing the kickstarter)?

Hey Aaron I'm using the Alpaka Zip Clutch RX30 as my wallet. I can even put in my passport on the huge outside slot and it conceals pretty nicely. Boarding pass, it's in my Google Wallet depending on the airlines if they are using QR codes. I did consider the Bifold Ark Passport Wallet, I can't help it with the Ocean Blue colour on the Zip Clutch RX30

@@KelvinHew7 I know a lot of people like RFID, but my Fyro bag development team says it's a scam lol. Reason being unless the compartment is laser-welded shut, the RFID will still leak out of the stitching seams 🤷♂
@@Nomads.Nationoh well, at least it's there. RFID theft from what I heard is more common in European countries than Asian countries, but then again it can happen anywhere
My favorite is the Pioneer passport wallet. Their Commuter zip wallet is nice too, but isn't passport sized.

I have the Pioneer passport wallet too. Love the small size of it. But the one fatal flaw I found was that if you turn the wallet upside down and give it even a gentle shake, the passport can come loose and fall out. I don't walk around shaking the wallet but in travels I happened to pull it out of a pocket and my passport fell to the floor. LUCKILY I saw it and was able to pick it up. I haven't used it again since my return from that trip. Their customer service was great and suggested putting the wallet in the dryer to shrink it a bit. I've tried it but my results weren't so great.
@@dave.in.oregon Dang, that's kind of spooky. Mine doesn't have that issue, which I guess we can chalk up to manufacturing tolerances. But now I'm worried that maybe that problem will develop as the fabric breaks in with use. I might try adding some silicone grip stickers or something, kind of like what Allet puts in their card slots.
@@bwnnn It's not a bad product. Love the design and fabric. Just one flaw (in my opinion). Just keep an eye on it.
Bearing I mind a wallet’s purpose -- carrying expensive (money, credit cards), legal (ID, insurance card, passport) or other personal items (medicine, keys, pen), and considering, I still have daughters playing soccer, so also carry a couple hair ties and Band-Aids my vote would be for the zippered. I prefer functionality -- and no one has ever accused me of being stylish.

I just got the zip travel wallet to carry my family's passports all together for a trip to mexico I'm taking soon. I didn't even know about the Bifold wallet. Ah well I'm a zipper guy anyway.

Neither the Ark nor the Pioneer (names in some comments) fit EU passports. Even in the EU we got different measurements and the only passport i found to fit both is the US/OZ one. Bit of a bummer

None of these are long enough for boarding cards. And those that are seem to be big enough for a family of six which is a little excessive for a solo traveller!
