    Thanks for the videos, you helped me make a choice too. I was dead set on getting the Himi, but I test drove both and that changed the outcome. The Himi 450 is a great bike but it was very neutral, its a vehicle that does its job well but it was missing character. From the moment I got on the CFMoto I got a smile on my face, and that lasted all through my ride.

      @JoeriQuiksilver you've hit the nail on the head there. The Himalayan is 'very neutral'. Totally agree, it's a great bike nut I personally feel compared to the old 411 it's lost lots of character.
      If it wasn't for the CFMOTO, I'd have bought a 411 again hands down. In my local RE dealer, there was hardly ever a 2nd hand 411 in stock. There's currently 3 low Milage 2nd hand 450s in. And they are a small dealer.
      Glad you liked the video and found it useful 👍 I can't wait to get mt hands on my MT. That bikes going to travel 😆

    You just made my mind up too vs the Himi and even vs a good deal on a '24 Transalp (because they're going over to Euro 5.5) which to be honest just ends up being an expensive ADV once you figure in all the protection/luggage. Will put in my order for a '25 plate MT very soon. Subscribed off the back of these two vids. Nice one and enjoy your new bike 👍🙏👏😊

      @glennhastings3422 Thank you so much. It's really apreciated. I am currently editing my Outer Hebrides trip I did last weekend, so keep an eye out for that.
      The MT just did it for me. I hold no affiliation to anyone so will just say it as I see it. It doesn't mean it will be best for everyone, its just my take. I can't recommend getting out on one for a test ride enough if you can. I've not heard anyone complain yet.
      I'm really looking forward to it and planning antics for next year already 😁
      Thanks again, really apreciate the comments and the sub. 🙏

      @anidiotonboard6539 Appreciate the reply 👍. Just putting in a request for a test ride to my local dealer (they haven't got a demo bike at the moment) and finding out what my next step might be regards deposit etc as I'm not sure if a '24 plate would be available now so might have to hold out for a '25 one. Have test ridden the Himi already. Will look out for your Outer Hebrides trip. It's nice watching the "inner five year old" giggling, made me smile and I do that a lot when I'm out on the road 🏍️😂 and man you flicked that bike round that roundabout 😲😎

      @glennhastings3422 😄 mad skills, or blind luck?? 🤣
      Not sure where you are, but if you are UK based and can get to Smalley Cross during the week, you can get a decent test ride. Current waiting list in the UK is 5 to 6 months, so mine will be a 25 regardless. I've heard the 25s will have a ecu refresh solving the throttle snatch and holes drilled in the subframe to allow the water to get out.
      I'm a big kid at heart, the body feels my age but the head certainly doesn't follow suit 🤣🤣

    Just some History mate the Yamaha TDM 850 was the first bike to use the 270 degree crack in the early 90,s then the TDM 900 - I owned one , then the Honda African Twin did the 270 degree, then T7 , then well everyone else 😂👍. And even Triumph on the Tiger 900 with a 270 degree Triple - with T- plan crank .

    You made the right choice. I've had mine 3 months now - all kitted, just waiting on delivery of some Mitas 50/50 tyres. I have a Harley also - and really I've never felt the on/off throttle snatch on either - my Vulcan 650 used to until I put the BoosterPlug on to sort out the A/F mixture. I think a lot of it is user throttle control (coming off lower power bikes that needed less throttle finesse). A 15T front sprocket has been the best change I made too. Enjoy !

      It does have on off and causes stalling when you hold the clutch fully then shift down in slow speeds, my unit doesn't have the update as no tbox and dealer doesn't have ability to do the manual update that supposedly ease the fuel hunting out, but yeah just got used to it now and it hardly stall now that I installed a slip-on exhaust along with 15t. Honestly thinking to get SSS ECU if they ship to my country. All in all, I'm happy with my 450mt full build now just have stock tires as i just do mainly pavent for now. Enjoy guys.

    I've ridden both the CF and RE 450 models ( Thanks Smalley Cross, great dealer) In fact two test rides on the RE - the second with a lowered seat. For me it was an easy decision between the two and that was as you chose the Cfmoto. However depends what you want them for. My test is to ride away on my current bike and consider the benefits of a change.... when I rode them back to back, rode home on my Himmy and decided for what the himmy 411 delivers for me there was no reason to change (yet !!) The RE 450 and that side stand its vibrations, the poor screen the extra costs for tubeless as well as you say the feel you are sitting on it rather than in it for me were the difference. If I didn't have the 411 and my Honda NC I'd have the CF moto as a single bike. One other small detail if I recall it correctly is 3k valve checks on the Himmy and after the first one on the CF moto its then over 20k to the next one - as they are both bucket and shim that will increase the service costs for the RE if you do the miles. Enjoy your new bike

      @yellownev smalley certainly are a great dealership. Very helpful friendly staff.
      I was very much the same when it came to my 411. I sold it to put a deposit down on the new 450 before I'd even road it. I regret it now as as you say, the 411 is a great little bike. Cheap to run, easy to ride and gets you everywhere. Never fast but it gets you there.
      If I hadn't have sold it, I'd still have it. Having said all that, I think the CFmoto will be a great replacement and really looking forward to the future.
      Thanks for your input. Always apreciated.

    15tooth front sprocket sorts the revs out but get the dealer to drill drain holes in the lower frame as these fill with water and rust within no time at all.
    I'm contemplating between the two but will probably go himmy based on local dealership and actually being able to swing a leg over one.

    • @paulcollyer925

    TBH You were pretty predictable! 😁 Good luck with it 👍 I think you'll subconsciously adapt to the snatchy throttle. My ol' horse has 120+k on her now, so there's a fair bit of slack and backlash in the drivetrain. I find myself just feathering the clutch a little to take out the snatch when applying the power (without even thinking about it sorta thing). I reckon you'll soon adapt to something similar. 👍

      Yea you do adapt, to be honest but he and of the ride, I didn't notice it. My Pan America is very much the same. Infact the Pan Am is worse as it is a fly by wire like the himalayan, so it takes a fraction of a second for the computer to catch up with your input. As you said, I'm used to it now and it doesn't bother me anymore.
      Really looking forward to ABR, instructing again and what the future holds.

    • @nockianlifter661
      @nockianlifter661 Месяц назад +1

      @ I think we forget that what is our hobby, is really an upwardly mobile transport reality for millions of Asians and Indians. That’s where the major market is. KTM need to sell to Chinese buyers and they have to do so with state approval and an existing Chinese brand. The Western market is going nowhere, so European businesses either expand into these new, rapidly growing markets or they fail. We are essentially gaining the benefits of the business relocation, but of course that is why we are also most likely not seeing the supply, as the Asian markets get the first pick. It’s a sobering thought, but we are no longer the premier market, just a back water.

    • @anidiotonboard6539
      @anidiotonboard6539  Месяц назад +1

      @nockianlifter661 This is very true. So many manufacturers have now moved abroad. Main dealers are shutting down left right and center in the UK. They are pricing themselves out of the game I my view. Take Harley Davidson for example. Now I do love me a Harley, but I couldn't even afford the 'cheap' sportster. The road glide that I really love is over 27k. I can't ever afford one.
      People and times have got to move forward or get left in the dirt so to speak. I think with the CFmoto now officially being in bed with KTM, means they can't be seen to let parts availability etc slip in the UK, otherwise it reflects badly on KTM.
      Time will tell, but look at enfield and the himalayan. Indian made with questions over reliability etc when the 411 first came out. Now look at it, a global sensation with a huge cult following. Future classic for sure.
