AUSTRALIA as I’ve always imagined (Adelaide vlog 2)

- Australia is famous for a number of things, but in my mind, it has always involved beaches, sunny days, and a very peculiar instrument called the didgeridoo, performed by Aboriginals in traditional ceremonies. And we had no idea we'd have the chance to witness one of these up close, especially that it would happen in a city most foreigners choose not to visit: Adelaide.
Adelaide is the capital of South Australia, and in this video, you'll see the best it has to offer: the Central Market, where you will want to try everything; the Botanic Garden, one of the most beautiful parks I've ever seen, with lots to do; and the top beach in the area, called Glenelg. It was at the Botanic Garden that we stumbled upon the Aboriginal smoking ceremony.

► WHO AM I?
I am a Brazilian-American journalist living in Florida. After traveling the world working with sports, news, and events for over 15 years, I realized that what I really love is the travel part of it all. So I exchanged life in the newsrooms and stadiums for the daily challenge of being an independent content producer. I created this channel to share the beauties of the world... stuff that, for so long, I only kept to myself. Also to help people planning similar trips and to inspire more people to venture out and enjoy life!
P.S.: The funny guy who appears in the vlogs is my husband, Gordon. He is Canadian-American, and he's actually camera-shy. That's why he's behind the camera most of the time 😉

Now, here's a question that only Australians may know. Would you know the name of that aboriginal instrument? All videos in Australia are here: ruclips.net/video/2k--1eubJb4/видео.html Enjoy!
It's called a didgeridoo
And it requires circular breathing to play - very challenging!
I can imagine very difficult to master.
gday mates after adelaide you should go to perth and then make more videos in melbs❤
Renata:I wish you guys safe journeys & good LUCK to you guys always in peace from Adelaide, Australia this weekend in June of 2023❤❤❤You guys are just amazing as a great couple for life 2023❤❤❤
I came across your videos on RUclips, how beautiful Adelaide is. I've never been there, because I live in the Netherlands, but I have a pen pal living here who keeps me informed of everything.

Adelaide does prove that Australia has very fabulous cities and Adelaide is fabulous the Citiies of Australia were very. Ambitious and well planned for such a new country a very civilised place. Adelaide has a very modern plan for when it was conceived as well as fabulous buildings. Amazing
This is what I miss. The amazing food in Adelaide.
It really is great. Best part about traveling.

You have done a fantastic job showing off Adelaide, I haven't been there in over 30+ years. Looks like I have to visit there. Thanks.
You are most welcome. I know we will return...much more to see. Thanks for watching
What a beautiful sunset and such and uncrowded peaceful beach vibe. Loved it.
Thank you for watching and enjoying.
Adelaide is on the Fleurieu Peninsula, and we have sandy beaches on our Western Shore for approx 300 kms North to South.. In Adelaide, we have Sunsets over the Ocean every Night..
And warm waters. do we have to worry about any sea creatures when swimming?
To Renata & Gordon, thank you so much for coming to our country and showcasing your experiences Please enjoy our amazing and diverse country you are most welcome anytime.

I am Japanese and I stayed for 4month at Adelaide about 20years ago. My friends lives in there so I wanna go to Adelaide again near future. I can walking around city and street with you. I can see the Uniqlo shop of japan at Rundle Mall and Sapporo Beer at Lee St.
I really go to Adelaide and walking around city as soon as possible.
I wanna eat to wonderful foods and go to beach. Is the tram's fee is free, isn't is? amazing!
Very cool. I bet a lot has changed since you were first there. You would enjoy again. Note, tram is free in CBD only
Arigato.
Adelaide 8s a lovely city. Been a few times. Always a pleasure to visit. The Zoo is very good also.
Thank you for sharing.
'Stone the crows' what a great showcase for this beautiful city. I've live in Melbourne, visited Sydney but you've shown me what I've missed in not going to Adelaide.
I had to look that phrase up. Wow, cool!!!!! Do see our previous Adelaide video and if you are into wine our next about Barossa region. This area really reminded us of our former home, California. But I must keep it on the down low...otherwise it will be flooded with transplants like Cali, ha ha! Adelaide is so under rated.
@@RenataPereiraTV totally agree. I've watched all ur vlogs. U & husband make a good team. 👍
@@K_one_w_one Ohhhh, thank you so much 😊🙏
@@RenataPereiraTVSorry that's phrase is out of date & is associated with a Australian stereotype which some foreigners believe is actually how Aussies speak.
I've known some old timers who did use such expressions but I don't expect any Aussie under 40 would today. I apologise as I was trying to be humorous.
No apologies necessary...we love humor! 😂
What a wonderful city!
Truly is...thanks for watching
Hopefully one day I will visit that place. Love Australia!
I wish you get the chance. Thanks for watching.
We had a lovely road trip in SA in February and stayed in Glenelg for a couple of nights. It is a great spot.
Totally. Glad you had a good time.
Those buildings that you showed at 7:19 are the old buildings that used to be part of the Royal Adelaide Hospital. They built a new hospital on the other end of North Terrace and only demolished the younger buildings at this site. Only the heritage buildings remain.
Thank you for sharing. Love it!
Absolutely beautiful city..I want to live there.
HAHA, see our previous and next video 👍😆
Your discussion about the ocean got me to do a bit of research to clear up my own understanding. You are right, the southern ocean does not extend up as far as Adelaide. According to the International Hydrographic Organisation that defines the boundaries of the oceans, the ocean at Adelaide is part of the Indian Ocean.
Thanks for sharing that.
Went to Australia (Sydney, Adelaide and Victor Harbour) in March 2020 when the world was losing its mind and by the time we got to Adelaide, bars and restaurants had virtually shut and everything was going into lockdown but we absolutely loved the Botanical Gardens there.
Can't wait to go back as my now wife and I, got married out in South Australia instead of back home here in England.
Loving the vlogs.
thank you and thanks for watching. Wow, that is a long way to get married. Is one of you originally from Australia? We have more Australia videos to give you ideas about
@@RenataPereiraTV my wife has family out there, got married in her aunt and uncles back garden. It was such a relaxed vibe (we are both twice married) and actually came about after a throwaway comment. I was against it at first but then thought, why not?
Holiday was booked before we decided to get married. Went to Hong Kong first and were due to fly from Adelaide to Kuala Lumpur before going back to the UK but obviously Malaysia was shut because of the pandemic although we went there for a holiday in February this year (and it was everything I hoped).
Looking forward to more videos 😉

A great video of our city. I live at Glenelg !
Very cool! Thank you! Glenelg coming up next video.
Super,krasné video Renata
Děkuji mnohokrát!
The Central Market is awesome.. I love my little 20 minute City!! 1.5 million people..
Adelaide is on the Fleurieu Peninsula, and facing West, we have Sunsets over the Ocean every Night.. And Sunrise over the Adelaide Hills in the Morning. We are on a 35km (20 mile) x 300km (180 mile) "Gulf" which leads to the Southern Ocean to the South.. After that is.. (you are correct)... Antarctica, so we can get some weather when it comes up from the South!
"Glenelg" is a palindrome, a word spelled the same backwards and forwards..
12:45 The First Nation of the Adelaide Plains are the "Kaurna " people (English: /ˈɡɑːnə/, Kaurna: [ɡ̊auɳa]; also Coorna, Kaura, Gaurna and other variations).. Basically Gau-nah
Thank you for sharing all the wonderful information. Your city is special, lovely, and tranquil. I hope we can return to explore more the region. Anything you can suggest we see on a return trip?

17:55 is unreal 😮😮😮😮
I must visit Adelaide again! I forgot how beautiful the city is….
It really is! Overlooked I would say.
Exactly! Now you really make me reconsidering my retirement plan and I am from Sydney. Adelaide is so convenient and easy to travel with the light train, sunset on the beach at anytime, wine and more wine, all the delicious food from the market, also still one of the cheapest city to live in Australia! What more do you need?
How does it compare to Perth? Brisbane?
@@RenataPereiraTV Prefer Adelaide Mediterranean climate compare to Perth’s wetter climate. But both are amazing cities with Adelaide leans towards cultural, vibrant arts, festivals. Perth has the best beaches and modern citiscape.
Brisbane is more subtropical and humid, and more touristy. For living, I would choose either Adelaide or Perth depending if you prefer culture or modern city.
Thanks for sharing. We felt Adelaide very similar to California. AND California turned so expensive people are having to move away. What other cities do Aussies consider for retirement?
The body of water is called Gulf Saint Vincent

glad ya liking Adelaide if your still here go down south to Port Noarlunga and so on :)
Thanks for the suggestion. What to do going south from Adelaide?
@@RenataPereiraTV mostly parks & just outdoor places. if you like wine great to go down to Happy Valley, or catch a ride on some heritage Railway at Steam Rangers on the famous Cockle train down to Victor Harbor where a lot of family things to do, Old Noarlunga Hotel is a great place to have a meal and across the road you have a park next to the Onkaparinga River and many more the south always gets left out as it's not close to the city.

Sister I just came to your page are you from Australia or live in Australia?
Hello. I am from Brazil living in the USA.
I detect a bit of an Aussie twang in your speech occasionally. Yes in Geographic circles the Southern Ocean doesn't exist, Australia is surrounded by the Pacific and Indian Oceans, although recognised recently to some degree internationally by some Cartographers and Maritime chart producers.
I wonder at what point they join.
HAHA, Aussies rubbing off on me.
@@scanspeak00They join at a vertical line dividing Tasmania
Apparently the international hydrographic organisation has put up a proposal to define the southern ocean as everything below the 60th parallel, but this has not yet been ratified, so it should be more clearly defined in the near future once that definition is accepted..
The theatre just underwent a massive renovation. All but the facade was demolished.
Thank you for sharing. Love that they keep the facade...the character...good city planners.
If you want to experience real Australian culture, come to the Northern Territory experience, the true culture in Alice Springs, Tennant Creek, Katherine, and of course the Capital Darwin then tell us what you think hopefully we will see you in the NT
Thank you for the suggestions. I would love to explore more of Australia. 👍😀
its true, the aboriginals that perform in the cities down south are actors performing for tourists, there isn't much authentic about them. NT is a far more authentic experience.

Hi 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Hello, thanks for watching
Also Adelaide is renowned to be the serial killer capital of Australia. May not be true, but a friend once described the place to be big enough to be freaky, but too small to cover it up. Hence the serial killer status 😂
Yes, we read about it. Interesting reputation it has and equally interesting description.
Well many of the big crimes, such as the bodies in the barrels case, the people were actually killed in other states and simple disposed of in SA
❤️😍❤️😍❤️ Beautiful ❤️
Thank you!! 😊
Another thing about Glenelg. You can spell it backward and still spell Glenelg.
HAHAm did not see that. Thanks for sharing. Was that on purpose?
@RenataPereiraTV It was named after Lord Glenelg, a member of British Cabinet and Secretary of State for War and the Colonies. Through Lord Glenelg, the name derives from Glenelg, Highland, Scotland
@RenataPereiraTV something a lot of people don't know. Did you notice the row of Pine Trees along the coast and the main road? Want to know why? lol
Yes, please share. And we did notice the pine trees.
@RenataPereiraTV They were originally planted because they grew straight and tall to replace the ship's masts if they broke.
Other reasons later on they were probably also used in coastal towns as landmarks for shipping.
Nowadays, they look good, have become iconic, and they are well suited to coastal situations because of their high tolerance to salt and wind.
You come to India

Why on main Australian tv channels you cannot comment? Is the censorship rampant in Australia???
If you are referring to the tv news channels on RUclips I noticed that too. I assume it is because news channels rely heavily on their reputation as being reliable correct news and do not want anyone detracting, criticising or suggesting that their news is wrong. And with any news there will always be people saying it is wrong because it does not suit their view of the world. You cannot please everyone even if it is true 😂
To answer your question about censorship, no it is not heavily censored. Australia is number 8 out of 165 on the International Freedom Index which includes all sorts of freedom including press and media freedom.
Could be also they could get hijacked and they don't allocate the personnel to deal with all the comments that can be generated.
Kapan Indonesia??
Ingin kembali... tidak yakin kapan
Hey.. In Indonesia "kamu" means "you" 😂
