AUSTRALIA's TOP wine-producing region (Barossa Valley)
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 17 май 2024
- Australia is the world's 5th largest wine producer, and 45-50% of this production comes from the region around Adelaide, the state capital of South Australia. Here you'll find the country's most renowned wine region, called Barossa Valley. It's just 1 hour away from Adelaide and very worth a day trip (or even better, go for the weekend).
Barossa Valley has over 150 wineries for you to choose from, and they're very different from one another. As we didn't know the quality of their wines, we chose 3 for different reasons: Bethany, for the picturesque site, Lambert for the family production, and Yalumba for the history. We were surprised that all of them actually had all 3 elements. They were extremely gorgeous properties with an incredibly family-friendly environment, history, and outstanding wines.
If you're choosing which wineries to visit in the Barossa, we recommend all three. As we both wanted to enjoy the wines, we didn't want to drive and opted for a company called Trailhopper. Our driver/guide, Nathan, was amazing. Totally recommend their services!

► WHO AM I?
I am a Brazilian-American journalist living in Florida. After traveling the world working with sports, news, and events for over 15 years, I realized that what I really love is the travel part of it all. So I exchanged life in the newsrooms and stadiums for the daily challenge of being an independent content producer. I created this channel to share the beauties of the world... stuff that, for so long, I only kept to myself. Also to help people planning similar trips and to inspire more people to venture out and enjoy life!
P.S.: The funny guy who appears in the vlogs is my husband, Gordon. He is Canadian-American, and he's actually camera-shy. That's why he's behind the camera most of the time 😉

Hey Renata & Gordon, loving your Australian series of videos. Renata, so informative and vibrant! 😊 Especially love Gordon’s dry humour. Great job!
A dry, full bodied humour 😉
Thanks so much! 😊 you made our day!
@user-wb1nz6fq2i 😂😆👊
Thanks for mentioning Renata's husband's name. I must have missed it in the earlier videos and wondered what it was. Gordon has such a sarcastic sense of humour. I really enjoy the interactions between him and Renata. They seem like the sort of couple you could make good friends with.
Thank you for your kind words.
Hi from Adelaide. Great video, very informative. Adelaide is surrounded by vineyards. Not only the Barossa, also Adelaide Hills, McLaren Vale, Langhorne Creek, and further south the Coonarwarra to name just a few. We are thoroughly spoiled.
Thanks for the info and for watching. The Adelaide area reminds me of northern California...very similar. I know we will be back to explore more the region...hopefully it stays under the radar
@@RenataPereiraTV It is one of those areas that is always under the radar and we love it :-) There is Clare Valley which is a bit north of Barossa and known for white wine. Loved seeing Bethany wines, been visiting there for nearly 40 years and its position in a corner of the surrounding hills is awesome. The complimentary wine tasting is still around in other wine regions but because so many people visit the Barossa region and lots of tasting wine gets drunk, they had to start including a price for tasting and many of these costs are refunded when you buy a bottle.
GSM wine I love too for its smooth velvet like taste, but I love all wines too.
What a beautiful journey. Thank you so much for your time and effort.
Our pleasure!
So cool! I can't believe how many tastings the 2nd winery gave you! I'm impressed you were both standing and coherent by the end - that was A LOT of wine! Good video!
This reminds me of a winery we visited in the King Valley, Victoria. It was a little family vineyard called Ferraro. The tasting was done in a shed and the lady who owned the winery was very hospitable and poured whole glasses of wine for tastings. She would offer more after you had downed your glass. You had to be careful not to go over 0.05 on a wine tasting! The wines were also excellent value. Highly recommend them.

Thank u for this wonderful video n for also showing your explorations in Australia.
U guys had explored Dubai n I wonder if u guys had tasted d non alcoholic bubbly in Dubai. Let's say a non alcoholic wine, would it tastes different from d alcoholic content wine. Just wondering.
My pleasure 😊
No, not aware of it but we will look for it and get a chance. Gordon says, traditional non-alcoholic beer was not the same but he has not tried more modern versions. Thank you for the idea. 👍
@@RenataPereiraTV Thank u Renata. 😄
One of my friends from University lives in Adelaide. The last time I went they took me to McLaren Vale for wine tasting. If you guys have time I recommend Fox Creek Wineries. It’s like visiting someone’s house the people are so lovely.
Thank you for the suggestion. We will return to Adelaide region and go south.

Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for watching.
Awesome. Keep going. Still waiting for the Brisbane video!
Thank you. Coming up!
Fantastic videos. Enjoy your stay in Oz.
Thanks 👍
It looks so nice and bright there. I always imagined being able to walk between the vines but now i know i can't! I'm not a wine drinker but it looked fun. Did you get a bit tipsy? You had the smile and the giggles 😊
Great video! We went recently for the first time. Absolutely incredible place for wine lovers. Cheers from Melbourne 🍷…
It really is! We had a wonderful time there and would love to be back one day 🤩. All the best!
❤🎉❤ WAOO BES ....SALAM KENAL DARI SUMARJI YANTO CHANNEL
Great video again! We went to a lot of wineries in the Barossa but the only one we went to out of these three was Bethany. It is a beautiful area to visit.
Thank you. Which winery did you like?
@@RenataPereiraTV I think my favourite was Henschke. It is a very old family-owned winery. Part of the attraction was the very knowledgeable person helping us with our wine tasting. He told us the story about the journey the family took from Prussia to Australia. It sounded pretty harrowing, with family members dying on the journey. One member of the family was a sculptor who sculpted some of the impressive, large statues in Adelaide. I think Yalumba looks beautiful and might be a good place to visit next time. I think I probably avoided it because I associate it with cheap cask (boxed) wine in the 1970s. I think I missed out as a result.
I Love Your Channel ❤ The Best Vlog ❤ This is My Inspiration Of Travelling 😊❤
Wow, thank you! We really appreciate.
Nicely done & so many wines. I`m glad the last winery gave you some complimentary snacks as well, kudos to them. I bet you both slept well that night. Lol😄
Not really… That was AUD 50… but it was absolutely delicious
Great to see you showing Sth Aust. Its a wine lovers paradise 😊.
There,s 5 major region's. Barossa ..clare valley. Adelaide hills. McLaren Vale and the Coonawarra.
Thanks for mentioning the regions. We will definitely be back.
Great video
thank you very much!
@@RenataPereiraTV shame on you for wanting to visit a murder russia and talking with someone who supports the occupation of Ukrainian Crimea
you might not get down to Margaret River's wineries when in Perth, but I hope you can get out to the Swan Valley (only half an hour outside of Perth) which is full of awesome wineries
Gordon is funny. You both are lucky to have its other. Beautiful Barossa Valley we’re going there if we get a chance. Thanks a lot. You both are super nice couple.

Wow! Whatever you face...it will clear...be positive life is a joy. Thank you for watching.
Did they offer you any snack like cheese/bread or nuts? I hope that they did. My favorite wine from Australia is a blend of 50% Riesling plus 50% (Gewurtz)trainer from Rosemount estate ( 2012). In general, I don't buy wines younger than 3 years old. Good things take time to mature
Thank you for the video !
Australia is wine heaven. I hope you will explore more winery in Sydney and Perth.
Food and wine show in Perth...definitely one of us will make it.
I will accept that WA has some good wines.. NSW.... not so much.
Muito chique vc provando um bom vinho. 💟💟💟💟💟💟💟💟💟💟💟💟💟💟💟💟💟
Nice Video
Thank you
Barossa has really evolved over the years. I remember going there on school camp many years ago (not the wineries though 😊). What time of year were you there? It looks too sunny to be winter (is June/July).
I think I saw one of the Melbourne videos being around April/May in the background, I'd assume this wasn't too much later.
👍👏🙂🙋 Thanks Renata
You betcha! Thank you for the continuing support!
If you end up in Sydney, you should visit the Hunter valley, another iconic Australian Wine region (and don't forget to visit the blue mountains and the jenolan caves too)
thank you for the suggestions. We will look them up. 👍
@@RenataPereiraTV The Hunter Valley is my favourite wine region in the country and well worth a couple of days - Pokolbin Village is an excellent place to stay and puts you in the heart of the main cluster of wineries. There is a hop on, hop off bus that you can buy a ticket for quite cheaply that allows you to get around a very large number of the wineries without paying for a tour guide.
The Jenolan Caves are just past the blue mountains - if you're staying in Katoomba, which is the main village in the mountains you can make a day trip to the caves since they're about 45 mins drive away. Alternatively, you can stay at the caves themselves, it's very expensive but it's a spectacular place to stay. You need to book tours to go through the caves - there are many different caves to choose from and you need to book in advance, the Caves are one of Australia's best natural wonders.
The blue mountains themselves have a number of spectacular hikes and lookouts.
Thank you for the suggestions. Plenty to investigate. 👍😀
Hrllo teacher renatinha good morning. Good sunday morning

Barossa is just 1 wine region around Adelaide,I possibly prefer McLaren Vale south of Adelaide, but there is also Adelaide Hills, Langhorne Ck and a little further north is Clare Valley
Thank you for sharing. You have given us a region to look return.
There are thousands of wineries in Australia. Different regions around Australia specialise in different varities of wine. Australian wine is the best.
Now, I understand why it's world famous! We will be returning and returning. Thanks for watching.

Adelaide's reds are aren't as watery and more full bodied compared to other overseas reds and GOOD IMO.

"A South Australian cabernet sauvignon that sells for $40 (£21) has been named the best in the world at the International Wine Challenge. The 2021 Riddoch Pastoralist beat wines from more than 20 other countries to win the International Cabernet Sauvignon trophy."
"One country has just triumphed over all the rest in the Decanter World Wine Awards 2023, the world's biggest and most established wine competition, now in its 20th year."It was a victory for the New World as 10 Australian wines were named Best in Show, more than any other country. Well known brands Penfolds and Jacob's Creek were represented, while Western Australia's Margaret River region had two winning reds and one white. South Australia's McLaren Vale had two top-class reds."
thank you for sharing. I will definitely look up these wineries. Gordon will have a chance to visit the GoodFood show in Perth...just maybe I can get him to pick up a chardonnay
Thanks...will have to drop into a wine store.
Like san Francisco south
Very much like California. I know we will return.
What a fantastic day! Too much wine for me though, I think my limit would be two wineries in one day.
You are right...2 is the way to go...more leisure pace.

Here in Niagara, Canada we produce ice wine, I don't think you can get it in Australia.
Yes, we actually bought a bottle when we visited the region...very good. Thanks for sharing.
Actually you have to open a bottle of wine to see this video properly.
HAHAHA, love it!!! Hope you are well this weekend.
I don’t drink either but hey, you’re there , it’s educational….wine-not?
HAHA, I see what you did there! Thanks for watching.
Yalumba is a commercial version... PEPPERJACK...
B+gger the Barossa, the Fleurieu is a much nicer area. A hidden gem.
Thank you for sharing. We will have to return and discover more wine region in Australia.
550 wineries x 5 tatings = 2,750 ½ glass tastings. What follows is not pretty.
You should be acknowledging the Indigenous people who were displaced and their land stolen from all the places you're visiting in Australia. You need to present a more honest and contemporary interpretation of your visits.
