      I suspect that the fact that MOST of the lists are full of American stuff, are mainly about the US, its a viewers numbers game. or they very rarely branch out. the 2000's best comedy's were all American. yet the British original, Death at funeral is extremely funny and did extremely well. it annoys me how they say viewers vote counts, but if you can only vote with the list they gave you, its set up from the start.

    Wrong wrong WRONG! Everyone makes the mistake that France is the largest wine-producing country - but Italy regularly kicks its ass. And it was confirmed early this year that Spain leapfrogged both of them in 2013. I know this list is based on more than just production volume - but the claim that France is the biggest producer can easily be refuted by a minute's googling. Try harder, WatchMojo!

    • @andresax7904
      @andresax7904 9 лет назад +3

      Bingo! When it comes to red wines, I think that Italian wines taste way better than French ones, even if they're cheaper.

    • @ademkin
      @ademkin 9 лет назад +5

      Again, because a year is good doesn't make a country better than the others on the long run. France has been renowned for its wines and, let's be honnest, you probably grew up hearing that the topest quality wines were french ones. France being first and Italy being second is probably set in stone forever, ahah.
      This being said, Spain should have been on this list, they deserved more than HM, some of their wines are great.

    • @iainjames03
      @iainjames03 9 лет назад

      Let me clarify - I was saying the video was wrong about France being the biggest *producer* in the world. Italy have been making more than them for a while and last year Spain beat them both. It's always going to be debatable whose wines are 'better' but if the researchers can't even get simple facts right it kind of undermines the video.

    • @ademkin
      @ademkin 9 лет назад

      Iain Meldrum Their list are made from the votes of their members on WatchMojo . com, so that partly explains. Also, I think quantity is not the only criteria here, it's also about quality.

      Oh I know - which is why I acknowledged that in my original comment. Personally I can't decide between italian or french when it comes to wines I love the most. And spain has some great wines too.

      Lets be neutral, and not take part in our patriótic thinking... Canadian wine is not a special quality of wine, Canadá Have a little varíety of grapes, regular standars in the global view and awful conditions... At the begining was a excuse yo be a wine country to be similar to europe... But the thing is not that great. Been honest everyone who drink wine knows that, as i Said in other comment, even Armenia,México or Georgia Are better in body, smell, flavor and quality.
      IM a sommelier trust me, i know a lot about wine .

      I'm from Niagara so thats why I like Niagara wine. But I know were not the best. BTW what are a few wines I should try from other countries to impress me. J don't like red or dry wine anymore. But if its a sweeter red I'll try it. I love white wine, like chardonnay and others. I enjoy it with chicken/Turkey but I also like drinking it as a desert wine or with just appetizers. Thats why I enjoy Niagara Ice Wine. Also btw have you tried ice wine, I wanna know what you think of it. Lol I'm also not a drinker, I'm a burner lol. But I enjoy wine for the taste or social, not to get drunk.

      Also consider that Italian wine tech is 9th (South Africa), 7th (Australia), 5th (California), 4th (Chile) and in the honourable mentions (New Zealand). I know this for a fact because my father used to be in that business.

      Zante That is stupid. Why would the producers keep the best instead of export it and potentially make crap tons of money ? France is where it's at when it comes to wine, that's very, very widely known.

    • @Zante_on_google
      @Zante_on_google 9 лет назад

      ademkin They don't keep it to themselves, it stays in the country for the internal market. Quite apart from having my father who used to be in the business, I have seen this first hand. I have bought wine from the same producer, the same year, the same product. The bottle bought in London was definitely worse than the bottle bought in Florence.

    Italy is the real number 1. Italian wine is produced in every region of Italy, home to some of the oldest wine-producing regions in the world. Italy is the world's largest producer of wine, with an area of 702,000 hectares (1,730,000 acres) under vineyard cultivation, and contributing a 2013-2017 annual average of 48.3 million hl of wine. In 2018 Italy accounted for 19 percent of global production, ahead of France (17 percent) and Spain (15 percent).[1] Italian wine is both exported around the world and popular domestically among Italians, who consume an average of 42 litres per capita, ranking fifth in world wine consumption.

    "In 1703, Francis Rákóczi II, Prince of Transylvania, gave King Louis XIV of France some Tokaji wine from his Tokaj estate as a gift. The Tokaji wine was served at the French Royal court at Versailles, where it became known as Tokay. Delighted with the precious beverage, Louis XV of France offered a glass of Tokaji to Madame de Pompadour, referring to it as "Vinum Regum, Rex Vinorum"[3] ("Wine of Kings, King of Wines"). This famous line is used to this day in the marketing of Tokaji wines." Wikipedia Tokaji Aszu AND didn't mentioned, thanks?!?!?!!!!!!

    New Zealand export a lot of quality Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir. Admittedly, not as much as other countries, but the former has been reviewed by American critics and is likened to the wines of the Loire Valley in France, whilst the latter has been likened to her great Burgundies. Do try it. You`ll love it. 😉

    Where is Georgia ? ? Georgia is one of the oldest wine regions in the world. The fertile valleys of the South Caucasus house the source of the world's first cultivated grapevines and neolithic wine production, from over 8,000 years ago. Due to the many millennia of wine in Georgian history, and its key economical role, the traditions of its viticulture are entwined and inseparable with the country's national identity.

      Because Greece never comes even close to the top 5 in any international quality clasifications and competitions like France, Italy and Spain. Nor does it produce anywhere near the quantities of Australia, USA and Argentina. So it pretty much has neither the quality nor the quantity to get on that list, you should be glad they even put it in the mentions.
