What a brilliant documentary. Wine truly is a work of art and we have mother nature and passionate wine makers to thank for it. Their passion is so infections and I look forward to starting my own journey of wine making and seeing the beautiful reactions and stories that will emerge from this.
Thank you for posting this video. Thank you for this entertaining and insightful video, very nice, very informative. Thank you. God bless you. Stay safe and be healthy.
38:15 basically as soon as the “mother nature “ element of things is taken out of the variable equation it’s a massive milestone or the wine which locks you in to what you have it sets the colors you have to paint you canvas to a extent . From their is a a definitions of masters meaning if it’s where you blend and process to make the most of what you have . If the best wine maker was place in a post after state or brought in to lead the productions it’s the last 30 % at at point . 40 percent terrior 30% vinayard management/mother nature local variations (lost production not weighted) 30% (15/15) processing steps (yeast selections steep time barrel selection time )variables and blending .
My best friend is John Donnelly of Mosaic Wines. He told me not to think in terms of what it smells or tastes like because I couldn’t find the precise word. Rather he taught me to think ‘it reminds me of’. It made all the difference by expanding the palette by which I’m judging the experience and making it personal to me.
Put in a irrigation system with plenty of water, more than you need!. A comprehensive spray program. An automated frost management program, with wind machines etc. What’s the point in losing your whole crop and having to replant the whole vineyard, then having to spend significant amounts of money in getting the vines of an age to harvest again. When laying out the cash in establishing it properly at the start, will minimise unnecessary losses.
The title was changed for this page. It is actually titled A Perfect Vintage. And it was titled that because this was the first vintage - one that we happened to cover 2013 - was the year Timothy scored his first 100 point wine from Robert Parker, Jr. If you asked Tim himself if he thought he was a "Worlds Finest Winemaker" his response would be "only if you think so" - meaning if YOU like his wine the most, then he is. If you don't, he isn't. And it is TOTALLY subjective. Otherwise he would NOT have the hubris to make that claim. That I can promise! But we hope you like our film A Perfect Vintage!!
The most Resveratrol in wines is in grapes grown in cold climates and the best place for this is the Western Slope Of Colorado some of our vineyards are at 7,100 ft. elevation. If you look at the first vineyards in the world after the flood are in the Caucasus mtn. range which is Armenia and Georgia.
Milos, terroir translates other than literally to earth or soil. In France it takes into account everything that affects the viticulture and even some of the viniculture. Wind oatterns, climate, trees, etc.
I love good wine ,I love Napa,I love Italian, and French. It mostly depends on how good it is and the cost. I buy a lot more California wines then other because of huge VAT from Europe.
I've got one question. I'm 23 years old I live in South Africa and I'm currently working in Retail (which isn't for me). I have always loved the idea of working from "home" or just do what I really love. I love wine and I love music. My dad never believed in me being a dj and I've always wanted to prove him wrong. Seems like anything I tell him, he doesn't take seriously and doesn't believe in me. He thinks of me as a kid. Tell me, is it harder to become a Dj? Or is it harder to become a winemaker? I am not letting go of my dreams and I know my life has meaning and a calling other than working for 3k a month at a sloppy retail store which management sucks. Please let me know ❤️
The fact that in most supermarkets the wine section is as big as the fruits and veggies section is hilarious to me. We’re willing to pay so much money for someone to grow wine, why can’t we get excited over farmers growing our food

54:26 why have trousers that sink in the grapes? Very small adjustment would be to wear short trousers. It just doesn't look good, people with jeans in those grapes.
Great documentary! Just a shame that if you come from that particular part of the world, the term "World" only seems to refer to that particular area of the American continent that sits between Canada and Mexico 😂 With that title, I would have prefered a slightly wider scope.
Blessings in an abundance of the faith. I salute you. 😘🙏Grace and peace be unto you and to this place. God bless you. 🤍🌈🤍Thank you. Will you believe and receive Jesus Christ as your LORD and personal saviour??? I do. 🤍🌈🤍🔐🕊️🫶
90p On the Luca Maroni Scale for the confusing title 95p On the Jordan Suckling Scale for the video Production 100p On the Robert Parker scale to the participating producers in this video
I was about to watch this non sense “movie” then read the first title “ California Wine County” 😅😅 world’s finest winemakers? Haha what a slap to burgundy, barolo, barbaresco and bordeaux! This is non sense.
I’ll agree that I’ll choose a Grand Cru Classe Bordeaux over a Napa cab every time. That’s my palette. But these Napa producers do put their heart and souls into wine making. Plus I might be in the minority because new world especially fruit bombs are in vogue.
I work in the fine wine world, and I couldn't disagree more. The judgement of Paris firmly proves that the finest wines really come from all over the world.
Surely the winemakers of California are good but not the best on the globe.. let us not forget the rules that those world Beaters in France has to live with are the reason it makes them the single unconditionally number 1….
California is NOT the home of the World's finest winemakers, this video is just california and there are MANY other states and countries that are FAR superior to California. This is nothing but a testimony to the arrogance of that coastal state.
That wasn't the actual title. It was A Perfect Vintage - which 2013 was in the opinion of Robert Parker Jr. - Timothy Milos' FIRST perfect score. For whatever a score is worth. That is all broken down and debated in the film. It seems like you are judging the film from the title which actually wasn't the title. Have you actually watched it?

Wonderful video! I'd say easily a100 point video.
As a wine science student, this vedio is so peaceful and enjoyable for me
A wonderful documentary!!!
I had the pleasure in early 2022 of tasting a 2013 Caymus Special Select. It was amazing.
2010 and 2012 was better
What a brilliant documentary.
Thank you.

Great job 👍👍👍
On the front of my favorite tee-shirt it says,”Walla Walla for wine; Napa for auto parts”
Sassy!
Great video, this makes me want to figure out how to grow my own grapes and stop making wine from kits!

Wow, just now hearing about 2013 Napa valley wines. It's 2024!
That was awesome
No one can say, he makes the best wine!!

All of that is in there - Climate, soil, weather, trees, wild herbs, how it's grown and almost most importantly - when it's picked. Mother Nature ...
it is hard to make your own wine 🍷 it is a art to makeing wine 🍷
I love good wine ,I love Napa,I love Italian, and French. It mostly depends on how good it is and the cost. I buy a lot more California wines then other because of huge VAT from Europe.
Romantic stories, sure. Like making art.
nice honest video tick

Is it still possible to find some bottles from the 2013 vintage?

Have one French vintner for a "balance" documentary about wine.
Miloš are you from Herzegovina?
World's finest wine makers? No French, Italian, Spanish and many more? American arrogance knows no limits...
or your ignorance...

World's finest winemakers is not the title btw. They is just a title for this submission on RUclips.
True

Something wrong in title . World's fines winemakers live in France . Someone to alert me if they changed location .

most are France Ankit in South Africa and Australia u think the California ones are only leaving their first century now
Ohhhh Boy... Queue some uneducated inbred commenting "The Judgement of Paris" says otherwise 😂 ...
Sorry I can’t afford these expensive wines.
The best wine region is Bordeaux !
Non, Bourgogne mon ami.
@Jackolafrite also !
What is this…?? Europe.. Italy, France?? Barolo, Champagne, Super Tuscans..??? There is a difference between The World and USA…
The world’s worst chemical users!!!

I don't like the taste of oak in wine and I don't care for a real dry wine.

I wish you wine producers would start using screw on caps instead of cork, just a suggestion.

You just need to be good at English and anyone can be a reviewer.
What’s the difference between “God” and a Winemaker?, “God” doesn’t think he’s a Winemaker..
