One of the biggest AFL rounds of the year is on ANZAC Day (25th April), you need to see the game at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). The ANZAC round in Melbourne is between two rivals, Essendon and Collingwood, both old Melbourne suburb and the attendance is usually full stadium. Don't miss it its awesome.

I'm a Victorian but I love Adelaide. Adelaide is the right size, hot weather in summer, is an Australian Rules Football state and has beautiful beaches. Melbourne for a big Aussie Rules game.

So glad you enjoyed my lovely hometown it really is a great place to call home -apart from the city there is lots more to see such as the Barossa Valley and McLaren Vale which are beautiful wine areas but with lots of food/produce markets and shops, Glenelg and the coastline and even my suburb of Hallett Cove which has an amazing conservation park right on the ocean with an amazing boardwalk alongside the cliff.
Thank you for visiting Adelaide ❤ ! We are so happy to have you and knowing you enjoyed your stay! There are so much more to be discovered still so hopefully you two will return for more! Stay safe for your trip on Great Ocean Road - don't forget to check out The Big Koala along the road 😅.
I live in Adelaide and it's a great place to live, just like an oversized country town. The beef and mushroom pie and the spinach and feta pasty are two of my favourites. I am glad you enjoyed little old Adelaide. 😊 This was the first of your videos I have seen, it seems you missed the big Galah which is in Kimba which you can go through when crossing the Nullabor.
As an adeladian thankyou for shining a light do South so many people think Australia is just the east coast make sure you check out the Adelaide Hills beautiful this time of year also the Murray River they need the love
If you come back go see Monarto zoo, Tia you will love. You can spend time with cheetah, giraffe, rhino, lions and heaps more Enjoy the pies, you should try the pasties as well. Pastry filled with vegetables- delicious!
Loved seeing you guys loving my home town Adelaide 😊 I wouldn't live anywhere else. As for which AFL game to see, someone below mentioned the ANZAC day game at the MCG if you are still in Melbourne by then... It's probably the second biggest game of the year after the grand final. Have a great trip, you'll end up seeing more than most Aussies do!
I understand that the objective of your blogs is to catalogue your travels for memories for yourselves and, perhaps, the people back home but for Aussies watching it’s for us to be entertained by your interpretations and surprise at what you see. For me, an added bonus is just the antics and personalities of YOU !
Glad you enjoyed the Adelaide...the big city with the small town feel. And I and with you on the no sauce on the pies! When you go back to the states you can get them there. There is a few places that sell Aussie products. When you get to Melbourne go to Victorian Markets and try to catch a footie game at the MCG!❤
Bravo! As an Australian, I'm super impressed with your "Adelaide" pronunciation. You nailed it! Getting the vowel sounds in the Aussie accent is what most foreigners struggle with, especially North Americans, because of your heavy rhotic accents. (The tongue placement is the secret.) You obviously have a very good ear. The real test is if you can string a whole sentence together!
Really? Since when have you ever heard anyone say Adelaide like that and pronounce the e after the first d? You know damn well it's sounds like Ad-Laid. No one hits the e, ever.
I`m glad you enjoyed my hometown of Adelaide Guys. Be extra careful on the road this weekend with Easter coming up. It`s one of the busiest time of the year on the highways so take care. 🙏😄
Guys you missed the Giant Rocking Horse in Gumeracha, just 45 mins out of Adelaide!! Also Adelaide isn't so underrated as we made it to the top 10 most liveable cities in the world recently. I enjoyed your take on my home town through fresh eyes, thank you and safe travels!
I totally agree that Adelaide is underrated, but I may be a little biased as I was born & bred here! Your pronunciation of Adelaide while you were in the Market was perfect... great job! Our beaches are beautiful & we have the lovely Barossa Valley & Hahndorf & many other great spots near Adelaide. Yes, the Aussie big attractions are hilarious & were always on our travel itineraries when our kids were younger! I wonder how many of them you can find on your travels!! Enjoy! 🥰 Blessings from South Australia💕🐨
I was troubled by the absence of tomato sauce on your pie in the Perth park. In fact, it was something that has been playing on my mind ever since. I assured myself that it was simply due to the fact that you hadn't worked out how to open the uniquely Australian "fold and squeeze" condiment packaging. It simply never occurred to me that someone would have a preference for meat pies without sauce! It's going to take me a long time to digest this information.
I will only eat homemade tomato sauce. I've seen how it's made in a factory, so I refuse to eat it. I rarely put sauce on a meat pie 🥧 and meat pies are big in New Zealand 🇳🇿.
Lots of Aussies buy takeaway meat pies without sauce. My wife never has sauce, but I do. To be effective, and make eating easier, the sauce should squirted into the pie. Of course Adelaide is the home of the pie floater. This is an inverted pie, floating in a bowl of thick pea and ham soup.. I add tomato sauce into the pie before adding the soup, then lastly add a teaspoon or so of Worschestershire sauce on top, for a bit of extra bite.
Just found your videos, this one was great, thank you for sharing, the market baught back memories, my parents had a shop on grote street next to the market, before the market plaza and china town was built, and it was all a open car park, market used to open only on Monday Wednesday Friday and Saturday morning, my first paying job was in that market in a fruit stall next to Angelakis seafood
I've only just found you guys this week. Loved having a glimpse of my town when you crossed the River Murray. What a glorious time for you to cross when our swamp land was still flooded from one of our biggest floods in history. It's all been pumped out and dried out and the grass is slowly regrowing again. Good to see you stopped to visit Larry 😀
It's actually crazy how good Adelaide is. Very underrated and whilst a bit quieter than the other big cities, just wonderful. Mclaren Vale and Barossa, I mean.. it cant be beat!
Did you guys go to the Barossa Valley while in SA? Adelaide is surrounded by the world's best wine regions, the Barossa Valley the most famous of them. The Central Market is awesome, something for everyone. You were pronouncing Adelaide perfectly in the end. Pity I didn't spot this earlier I would have got Serafina, a local cycling tourism celebrity to show you around and put you on her TV show.
I have lived in Adelaide my whole life. It is beautiful and like a big country town. Very accessible. Great winery regions, beautiful beaches and great history. We are also the only Australian state that never had convicts sent here. We were a free state
Yeah, we were all taught that in school...however, the evidence shows that the Dutch had lived in central Australia 300 years before the soldiers (not convicts) arrived. Our old buildings and infrastructure confirm they were built with highly skilled workers, not convicts. Also, the canons face sea-ward...protecting the inhabitants from sea-faring attacks. Tartarian truthers bring some of this out. It's so interesting and opposite of what we were taught..but l agree, Adelaide is a beautiful town! My relo's were Johnstons, lol.
Lol, you said the 2 things I ALWAYS used to hear when I moved to Adelaide.. "it's just like a big country town" 😅 do they tell you that in school or what? I always wondered..
@@QuestionThingsUseLogic Do you have a link to any authentic, verifiable documentation for this "evidence" you speak of regarding the Dutch living in central Australia 300 years before colonisation? As a bit of an Australian history buff myself I would be interested to know the origin of such claims. Thanks.
It's really not a big country town. From North to South it's over 100km in length and takes 2-3 hours' travel time. It also has a regional population of 1.6 million which while not Sydney or Melbourne isn't exactly a larger version of Tamworth.
@@keynesianeconomics4113 Where did you get your figures for SA regional population from? According to PlanSA (@plan.sa.gov.au), regional South Australia's population between 2016 and 2021 rose a total of just 6197 to a total of only 394,983. At that rate it's STILL below or very close to 400,000 even now... Or around just 25% of your unsupported guesstimate. Adelaide metropolitan area population in 2022 is even less than 1.6 million at just 1,356,000. Furthermore, I've personally done the Gawler to Hackam West run along the North/South Corridor Freeway in just under 90 mins without breaking a speed limit the entire way... Your comment is grossly inaccurate.
I am so glad you enjoyed our town. We love it. Unfortunately, you missed the great AFL rivalry between Adelaide and Port Adelaide at Adelaide oval on the weekend. But, if you are heading to Melbourne, for sure Anzac Day , Essendon and Collingwood, that is if you can score a ticket. Thank you for visiting South Australia, we love it but we do still like it to be Australia's secret. 🇦🇺🇺🇸🇦🇺🇺🇸🇦🇺
As an Adelaide resident and subscriber since your Australian series started, I was really looking forward to watching your visit to my home town. Glad to hear you enjoyed your time but I can’t help but think your two videos didn’t really get to show case our city and surrounding regions which are world famous. Could I suggest you collaborate with some locals to help plan your itineraries to ensure you don’t miss out on visiting, experiencing & documenting the very best places in Australia.
Definitely see your point, but this is also coming from their own perspective which I really enjoy instead of the usual clickbait type of profile couples who use other local influencers
You are correct about Adelaide being under the radar somewhat for many tourists. It has more to offer in the CBD and within an hour's drive of the city, than the other state capitals. Great to see you featuring the South East of South Australia ( including those road works just past Meningee and Larry in Kingston). I have lived in Millicent for 40 years, so I have driven that route that you took along the Coorong around 400 times (ten times in the past three months and again in a few days time). That drive that took you to Robe was walked by Chinese miners in the Gold Rush era in the 1850s. You will see their memorial on the seafront in Robe. If you can, go south of Robe a few kilometres to the fantastic beach in the national park. If you took a boat from there and went due west you would not reach land until South America, as the part of Australia that you are in is further south than the tip of Africa. Enjoy the rest of your trek to Melbourne and be sure to visit the Blue Lake in Mount Gambier.
@@OnePackWanderers You are very welcome. Your videos are a pleasure to watch, with honest and respectful comments. Enjoy the remainder of your trip. I look forward to the next installment from Robe.
We dont speak with long "vowels" here in Radelaide.. Thats a very Eastern States/Queensland thing.. As this was a "convict free" State for the first 10 years, settled by free people, we speak the "Queens English". I even get asked if Im from the UK when Im interstate. We say "caar-sle" for "Castle" (with a long A), in the East they say "Ca-sle" for Castle (with a short A). First State to have a Library, and 2ND place in the WORLD to give women the vote.
Speaking of big things you will have also seen the big galah in Kimba and the big kangaroo in Bordertown. Love watching you two, such a cute couple. Excited that you are coming back to Oz after you head home for a bit. You must put the NT and WA on your list and visit Kakadu and Karijini. North of Oz is amazing. Happy travels.
I've lived in Perth for 32 years, but I think you've seen more of Australia in the short time you've been here than I have. Thanks for showing Adelaide, one of the many places to which I have never been. And you're not alone about not having tomato sauce on meat pies. I don't like that either.
Great series, and I love watching you guys. By the way, when you go to get in the wrong side of the car (10:20), then you know that you are not yet fully acclimatized to the country. Have you noticed yet that all lines of people are on what would seem to be the wrong side (driving on the left, crosses over into walking on the left side as well). Enjoy the rest f your time in Australia, and please try to get to see Canberra. Apparently there are only 7 cities in the world that are planned, and 2 of them are here in Australia ; (Adelaide planned by Colonel William Light, and Canberra by an American couple - Walter Burley Griffin and his wife Marion Mahony Griffin).
Be sure to check out the big rocking horse (Lyndoch) and Map the Miner a bit further North in Kapunda, and enjoy a shiraz along the way at one of the barossa vineyards and a home made meat pie from a country bakery.. for your next visit here to Adelaide! 🤍
Came across this video, enjoyed it, and so went back and watched the Australian tour from the start. Well done. Great camera work, although I stress over setup/retrieval time for for the many shots of the two of you, car arriving/departing, etc.. One thing that makes your videos extra-special is the extensive but well-chosen and well-shot B-roll ... it is the views of road, roadside and countryside through car windows that really captures the essence of Australia. We moved here from the UK over 42 years ago and still marvel at the wildness and uniqueness. Safe and happy travels.

Hi Guys, I agree - Adelaide's Central Market is really good. IMO Adelaide is a bit underrated. I really hope that you have managed to get through the Great Ocean Road before Easter and the predicted bad weather that's headed our way. As for what AFL game to see, firstly seeing a game at the MCG is a must. Looking ahead there are three games at the 'G'. This Saturday's game between 'The Tigers' and 'The Bulldogs' or on the 24th of April 'The Dee's (Demon's) versus 'The Tigers' which would be my pick because there will be a larger crowd in attendance and for the atmosphere. There's an even bigger game the day after 'Anzac Day' but tickets might be hard to get. There's a game on the 10th of April between 'The Cats' and 'The Hawks' but both teams aren't playing well at the moment. I'm really enjoying your travels though southern Australia and the enthusiasm you have shown even for those cringe-worthy 'Big Things'. Cheveyo, your Aussie pronunciation of Adelaide is spot on. Safe travels! Cheers, Stef
Nice - I was around this area a few months ago. Coorong Beach (the world's second longest beach) is also well worth a visit, but you can't get onto the seaside section unless on a kayak.
mostly just plain pies that get tomato sauce, i don't usually put sauce on curry pies either, the best pies are cheese and bacon same savoury mince but with cheese and bacon. tomato sauce is optional on a cheese and bacon pie too they mostly don't need anything else. get a lamington next time you go to a bakery for a pie.
I partly grew up in UK but now live in Australia, meat pies originated there but brits do not have tomato sauce on pies so not everyone in OZ has sauce on their pies either, same as fish and chips but now for me fish and chips has to have tomato sauce more so than the traditional vinegar. Pies and pasties were ordered at School in the mornings for lunch because schools didnt provide hot meals, everyone brought a packed lunch or had a pie or pastie. You need to try a Vanila slice, another great Aussie school tuck shop favourite years ago.
It's kinda funny that as you go from Adelaide to Melbourne, the next round of AFL (the week after Easter) will be exclusively played in ADELAIDE. All 9 games, with a festival atmosphere! First time this has ever happened. Turn around mate. Really enjoying your videos. Tomato sauce is only for plain meat pies (and sausage rolls).
RADelaide... ...it is an awesome place - beach, city, hills all so close. I do love visiting there! 👍👍 Also been to Robe, so interesting to see that vid too.
Great video. Lived in Adelaide my whole life, love it here. Tia said Adelaide right the first time 😊 I only put sauce on sausage rolls. Where you guys were eating, the best pastries are a couple isles back.
So happy you had a good time in Adelaide, (Cheveyo, you did a pretty good job on the accent and pronunciation), what else did you get to see in Adelaide? If you can get tickets and your in Melbourne, go to the Anzac Day game at the MCG, the crowd is usually around 100,000, awesome atmosphere. If you can afford it get a lobster (crayfish) in Robe, fresh from the sea. Lovin' your journey, 'ave a good one.
Figured you guys would ease nicely in to Adelaide. Its a gem. Bit like you guys...lol..true but. Hope you found a warm spot for the cold hit next Monday!...imagine you on south coast or in Melbs. Coastal route is nice...🎉...cheers..

You can spend time with cheetah, giraffe, rhino, lions and heaps more
Enjoy the pies, you should try the pasties as well. Pastry filled with vegetables- delicious!
Welcome to my home town, Adelaide is kinda like a big country town with all the mod cons
So glad you enjoyed Adelaide. 100% accurate, we’re absolutely the most underrated capital. Enjoy the rest of SA and Australia!!
Make sure you get to see Mt Gambier and the blue lake guys. They also have lots of sandstone caves. Beautiful place and its on your way to Melbourne
Mount Gambier is worth seeing the blue 💙 lake, caves, and Umpherston sunken gardens.
There is an Aussie meat pie shop in NYC apparently!
@@Zoso_1990 The middle "e" is pronounced as a shwa "ə". I've never heard anyone pronounce Adelaide as a 2 syllable word....ever😁😁
I`m glad you enjoyed my hometown of Adelaide Guys. Be extra careful on the road this weekend with Easter coming up. It`s one of the busiest time of the year on the highways so take care. 🙏😄
Love how Tia still is slightly confused in which side of the car is the passenger's side ⭐
I was there last week and the festival you’re talking about is called “Gather Round”. Enjoy your trip!!!
Love the Central Markets. Lucky enough to live close enough that I do most of my food shopping there.
You initially pronounced Adelaide very well. Hope you enjoyed your time there it's a lovely city if not a little quiet on Sunday's.
Yes it’s causing me immense anxiety also !!
Lots of Aussie pies are much better without tomato sauce 😜
@@edwardfletcher7790 Have to agree...put it on if you want, but with all the excellent flavours now, why *uck it up with tom sauce lol.
Thanks for your great video about Adelaide, where I live, it's a pretty low key city but plenty to do. You guys are just gorgeous xx
Mclaren Vale and Barossa, I mean.. it cant be beat!
the funny thing .. everyone goes on about those two while not mentioning the Adelaide Hills wine region .. Hahndorf hill, shaw & smith etc. etc.
We are a lovely city! Thanks for the appreciation, Gina
I love my city of Adelaide, thankyou for giving it love
You have to check out an AFL game at the MCG. Must- have experience in Australia!
Anzac Day game might lineup with them being in Melbourne. That would be an experience 👍
As long as it's doesn't involve Collingwood and they see the best of the country at a game 🙃Now that would be a real cultural treat...
@@grahamjeffries1058- I’m thinking a Collingwood v Any Other Team is worth it at least once for the cultural experience 😎
@@Skysurferauha!..that's the sort of cultural experience they can do without! Get the atmosphere..just the wrong sort...Unfortunately
There is so much to see from Perth to Sydney and unfortunately they didn't have time to see it all
You both had my favourite, go to foods when I go back home to Australia. Really glad you enjoyed. Thanks for sharing.
Didn't realize we were further south than South Africa! That is really something. Thank you for the information.
@@OnePackWanderers You are very welcome. Your videos are a pleasure to watch, with honest and respectful comments. Enjoy the remainder of your trip. I look forward to the next installment from Robe.
You guys NEED to go to an AFL game in Melbourne at the MCG! You won't regret it
Love that I only discovered your Vlogs a few weeks ago and you're here in Adelaide!! So very cool. Enjoy~
Happy travels.
reminder to check out brunswick st, fitzroy and sydney rd, brunswick when you’re in melbourne!
You need to try South Australia's iconic Cornish Pasty.
And fried fritz on toast - the food of the Gods.
Swap you for a pie floater.
Im in Perth and love nothing more than to fly to Adelaide for a few days break. Adelaide Hills are awesome
Hey guys great You Tube clip . Wish you had longer in Adelaide. There's really so much more to see. Enjoy your time over here. I'm on my first US trip in 6 weeks..
What part of the US are you visiting? 😊 Americans generally love Aussies, you'll be very popular!
@One Pack Wanderers Evening .. Oh I've 3 days in San Francisco 10 nights in New York and 3 in Las Vegas on the way back. Love my photography and can't wait to get some great shots of your bridges and night city scapes. You both seem to be having a great time and I'm glad I saw your clip..
Any road trip across Australia has to include the "big things" Tia is navigator from now on
Points lost for missing the Big Gallah at Kimba.
Nooooo theres a big gallah dam it
I have been watching you and enjoying every moment, for a while now, you could not have made me happier, when you liked Adelaide, my home town. Have a good day. Xxxxx
Adelaide is underrated, Melbourne and Sydney are too big, expensive.
Adelaide is the very best city in all of Australia!! 🇦🇺
Your videos always give me the travel bug. I LOVE that harry potter themed room! Any tips for filming my trip to Japan this summer?
Sorry big guy….Tia has discovered the Big Things. Childhood wonderment should be embraced not scorned!
Beautiful👍
😂🤣
The French charcuterie place behind Tia was featured in Ainsley's Australian Market Menu, an SBS series where a British chef goes to all the best markets in Australia!
Ainsley Harriot is awesome 👍😆
@@edwardfletcher7790 Haha yes he is hilarious 😂 !!
You guys gotta get up to Queensland and Cairns! Its beautifully tropical and lush
Thank you for showing Australia. I only have been to melbourne
Robe is a favourite place of mine - I am so glad you are there - be careful on the roads, Easter is crazy traffic time in the countryside - enjoy!
Looking forward to visiting there next January 😊
Nice presentation I’m an Aussie living in your country ( New Jersey ) so I appreciate seeing home through your videos.
I subscribed when you stopped at Larry… love it 😂
RADelaide...
...it is an awesome place - beach, city, hills all so close. I do love visiting there! 👍👍
Also been to Robe, so interesting to see that vid too.
Great video. Lived in Adelaide my whole life, love it here. Tia said Adelaide right the first time 😊 I only put sauce on sausage rolls. Where you guys were eating, the best pastries are a couple isles back.
Darn, looks like you guys are going to sail right past the Silo Art Trail. That's a pity. All these silos are painted - they're gorgeous.
You should see the market on a Friday night, absolutely packed full of people!
Kangaroo island and Flinders ranges is amazing sorry you missed it.
But the great Ocean road wow so glad you didn't miss that one.
Love from Adelaide
The best city so easy to get around and best place to live in
8:17 both y'all said "I'm so sorry" at the same time, like twins 😃
Figured you guys would ease nicely in to Adelaide. Its a gem. Bit like you guys...lol..true but. Hope you found a warm spot for the cold hit next Monday!...imagine you on south coast or in Melbs. Coastal route is nice...🎉...cheers..
Just missed the rodeo north of Adelaide last weekend at Clare 1st Apr.
Enjoying following your journey. Love your positive and happy demeanors!
