LOL I love the white guy in the back ground getting into the dance. To me it does not matter your color, these drums stir up the warrior spirit of any race... well done!
Lol... I'm 1/8 th Cherokee w/Irish Scotts... White and freckled with only Cherokee cheekbones and a flat butt.. Lol My Great Great Uncle was John Ross.
It is so heart warming to see everyone embracing their heritage if various percentages. Im just learning about my heritage and feel not cherokee enough to fully embrace the culture but this comment section along with the music just opened my heart
If you feel the call embrace it!! I'm not card carrying Indian but I fully embrace the Cherokee side!! I dance Men's Traditional dance at Pow Wows and don't care what other's think or say!!!
@@SpaceCowboy260 I have no idea. All I know is there were 3 Cherokee women in my ancestry. I grew up in Asheville NC and always enjoyed visiting Cherokee since it was so close. As for percentage I guess you'd have to do a DNA test
Ifk if you are still looking for an answer 3 years later, but in Tahlequah Oklahoma it is the Capitol of Cherokee people like myself who lives here. Every summer but not this year because of Covid, we have a Cherokee national holiday where there's many activities in town. Some sort of a small town
I’m Cherokee but I don’t look like it I just remember like it was yesterday when my papa died in 2020 and I was crying but god told me that my ancestors are looking down on me
Just because his skin is pale doesn't mean it's not in his blood. My Grandfather is 100% Cherokee, My Grandmother was 100% Louisiana French. And my Mother is maybe 5 ft and spanked me with a belt till I was almost 20. But I still feel it u can't help but move to it .
This is not Tsalagi. Tsalagi didnt hold "powwows" nor did my ancestors sing in this manner. This sounds to be Cree. It saddens me to see Eastern Tribes allowing Western Indigenous culture to permeate their heritage and replace strong ethnic boundaries. Reawaken, re-culterize, re-embrace.✊
Ummm first of all Noone said it was "cherokee.".. the title is merely where it was held. In CHEROKEE NC!! So if u are going to TRY to be Ms know it all.. make sure you know all the facts. Other wise keep your negativity to your self.

Does anyone know why the guy in the orange is holding his throat when he sings. I’m assuming it helps him with the different sounds
It helps with pitch.
