Josh you should sleep on the top bunk and give the bottom one to Diesel so he keeps his hair and toys to himself. That's what I would do personally. Beautiful truck man!
Josh I have been watching your videos since 28k subs (summer 2014). I hadn't watched them since about fall of 2015 and just started watching them again. You're at 56k now so that's double what you were at when I started watching so I'd just like to say congrats! Like the new truck! -Matt
I got excited for a moment thinking you pulled the trigger on a new Star! Congrats either way. I'm heading back out on the road next week, after 3yrs in the patch. Stay safe and keep the shiny side up! Go Jets!
Nothing quite like the smell of a new truck. About your couch covers, get some 6 ft. long water pipe insulation, cut them to fit and wedge them between the seat cushions / arms and seat cushions/ back It will keep you're seat covers in place without pins.
The air volume adjustment screw is located on the regulator part of the air chamber, use a 5.5 mm hex wrench or Allen key. Use a long #2 driver through the front to set the tone lower or higher. Should be able to break Windows if you adjust it correctly.
I being a KW guy love your new truck and the horn was the only disappointing part of the Western Star. A lot of tucks are going automatic. I wish you health, happiness and prosperity with your new truck.
Awesome looking Truck, outside and inside. Better than the one I use to have many years ago, and I agree with you, that air horn does need some bigger fuller Truck air horn sound. Enjoy that new Awesome Western 🌟 Star 🌟 Truck, and travel safe.
Congratulations on the truck! Some air horns are tunable. Ask the shop to tune them, and see what they say. I tried keeping the plastic on a sleeper mattress once. Made me sweat anywhere my skin was against the plastic. Even through a sheet and I tried putting a blanket in between myself and the plastic too. Hope it works out better for you.
Josh love western star and I agree they need to fix the horn. Also my father drives a western star 4900 with a Detroit DD15 560 hp and the turbo sounds amazing. Hope this guy has a nice sound to it. Can't wait for Friday!!!!
im driving an 01 western star and i wouldnt have it anyother way except for a new one. minus def of course. cb is on the dash and thats a weird weird place for your mirrors and engine brake. such a beautiful truck.
That airhorn sounds like a Wolo one... same one I have... electronic horn almost... which is what I put on my 4x4 only because I didn't want a compressor
I wonder if they could hear Josh blow the horn in the office, wondering who's blowing the horn lol. Oh thats Josh, he's all excited with the new truck, just give these young guys a new truck and they're all excited.
They are nice trucks, but not real big on the stereo and mirror controls being up top like that. I do like the size of that fridge though. Was that a actual home type outlet I saw at 17:11? If so would be handy for a microwave, or for a tv & blu-ray player.
I'm so happy for you my friend and I hope that W5700 at this time already have a lot of customization. That goose horn is perfect for a Ford trucks LOL
Josh, give us some updates on how the WesternStar feels different from the Freightliner and Peterbuilt when you have driven it for awhile! I don't see many of them on the roads in California! I currently drive a Mack Pinnacle day cab by the way and it weighs about a thousand pounds more than a Freightliner and Kenworth! Thank You
Does the bottom bunk swing up to access more storage beneath it? When you aimed your camera under it, it looked like two gas struts for holding the bunk up.
what are you going to do for your moose bumper ? you had i would think it wont fit on this truck without a welder & a few different drilled holes t.c. be safe , have fun cas life is short how do i know cas i have throat cancer
The 5700 is Phantom model Western Star, which is built on top of a Freightliner chassis. These are made in North Carolina right along side the Cascadia. They just put the steel WS cab on them instead of the aluminium Freightliner. if you want to hear a real WS horn, you should jump in a 4900 model
+DutchDude Not a big surprise in today's economy, since they are both owned by Daimler. They would be crazy not to share parts. Volvo and Mack, and KW and Pete also use many of the same components with different bodies.
NICE truck! Does this Western Star also come with a Mercedes/Detroit engine? The steering wheel and the transmission stickythingy come from the Mercedes Actros MK4. Have fun driving it!
Brother Josh why did you get rid of your truck to drive a company truck or is your truck? God bless you brother sorry I haven't been around lately I've been just trying to get well I had my 19th back surgery recently and they took out my spinal stimulator and got out all the Mercer they scraped out so now I'm done IV treatments at home appreciate your prayers brother love you guys.
Hi Josh Newish truck for me a Volvo FH 460 cab over along with a new job Monday but the truck is not in our yard so getting a lift from the yard in East Tilbury Essex England where I'll be based to the yard Bradford England where there the truck is along with a trailer which is about 200 miles away with all my junk and swap it all over oh happy days finding places to put it all again love the new truck thought but not the moving part
+Trucker Josh VLOGS is it 10 or 12 speed manual when you put it into manual mode. I know the Cascadia Evolutions go to 12 speed and the Peterbilts go to 10 speed.
+BasicScapes It's a DT12 automated manual transmission. And it is a 12 speed. It has a clutch and is setup like a manual transmission, just controlled automatically.
congrats bro.. I have always thought the WS were the best looking rigs around. I have been watching the videos for a long while, and you raise the profession (if we can call it that) to a higher level than these other nay-sayers- Of all vloggers, you deserve it. Good luck on the new Home away from Home and please, for the sake of that Massive Manly Grill up front, get a real horn!!!!
Josh you should sleep on the top bunk and give the bottom one to Diesel so he keeps his hair and toys to himself. That's what I would do personally. Beautiful truck man!
21:14 some of the best trucker josh editing I've seen in awhile

Great video truckerjosh and hope that you have a safe travel.
I'm jealous Trucker Josh. Very very nice for a Western Star. I'm impressed.
Awesome looking Truck, outside and inside. Better than the one I use to have many years ago, and I agree with you, that air horn does need some bigger fuller Truck air horn sound. Enjoy that new Awesome Western 🌟 Star 🌟 Truck, and travel safe.

Really nice truck and the best part is that there are none of those pesky payments that come with the new truck smell.
Enjoy and drive safely.
ArizAl
Congrats on the new truck!
I like your truck esp the fridge but closet is compromised. BTW I agree with u with the horn, your funny lol. 😁
One word describes what I think of your new truck, Josh....JEALOUS!!! She sure is pretty, though. Enjoy her!
Very nice Truck. Thank you for the tour Trucker Josh. Also I loved the ending when you compared the horn to a goose lol!
That is one great looking truck. I like how they have the woodgrain type of closets. And that new truck smell.
closets are real wood not wood grain
the Moment you realise that westernstar have many things from the interior out of the MB Actros mp4 (Europe truck)
Wow I'm amazed they haven't really changed the interior to much but gorgeous looking truck
Diesel is the man!
Nice truck first time seeing that model hope you enjoy it on down the road
Friggin awesome! One of the more handsome rigs out there!
I looked over a Metalic Blue one, wicked sharpe!
Keep On Trucking!
Beautiful truck Josh.
I think there.s more storage under the bed also. You need to lift up the bed..I believe it.s on hinges
im driving an 01 western star and i wouldnt have it anyother way except for a new one. minus def of course. cb is on the dash and thats a weird weird place for your mirrors and engine brake. such a beautiful truck.
The last air pressure gauge is for suspension and not application.
Awesome truck Josh!!!
Enjoy your new ride, Josh!
For your couch covers go to Wally-World AKA Wall-Mart and buy Diaper pins they have a safety on them so your mutt wont get stuck.
Very nice truck. Congratulations man.
nice vlog tj. very funny with the horn. back to some great Ole vloging i love watching. thank you.
Nice new truck. Lots of happy miles in this
they for sure take care of you well. nice ride.
great truck! we just don't get the same kind of truck in the UK
Laughed so hard almost fell out of the chair when you pulled the duck horn, roflol!
Well Josh, I see you were at the South Steinbach Timmies. Have fun with the Automatic.
The third air gauge is not applied brake air it's pounds per square inch on your rears. The heavier the load the higher that gauge will read
That airhorn sounds like a Wolo one... same one I have... electronic horn almost... which is what I put on my 4x4 only because I didn't want a compressor
the air horn might sound better when you get rolling and your air pressure is up.
i knew a driver when i was leased with KLM-KLMM in 1980 that had a Western Star and he liked his.
My dad got a brand new 2016 Mack truck for is brand new ABS live bottom it's sweet.
very good looking truck hope it drives well for you
Congrats To you and Diesel of course about your new truck !! I'ts lookin awesome ! New Western Star is a good looking Beast for sure !
my dad drives a 1998 4900 and its air horn has a nice growl to it it dosent sound like a goose

We have exactly the same lounge setting as you ! We are in Australia..
Nice truck Josh!!
lactose free milk is real milk josh... we have had it in comercial sale in norway for about 70 years now
I wonder if they could hear Josh blow the horn in the office, wondering who's blowing the horn lol. Oh thats Josh, he's all excited with the new truck, just give these young guys a new truck and they're all excited.

Maybe the horn sounds louder when you are outside the cab....you know, Sound Proofing does work. Just a guess...
Nothing wrong with the horn. After they walk past you wearing New Truck Smell perfume you can goose them with that horn.
Thank You
Superdouper truck you have there congratulation. Like your video, have a good day Josh
Hey congrats josh for your new truck! From India
Does the bottom bunk swing up to access more storage beneath it? When you aimed your camera under it, it looked like two gas struts for holding the bunk up.
#543 Where's the Odometer? Two Rivers, Wisconsin manufactures marine horns --- get one!
sweet ride man! can't wait to get mine!
The steering column looks exactly like a Mercedes Actros MP4. Only the logo on the steeringwheel is different.
5700XE, NIIIICE,
thats it, the Freightliner's toast!
My Dad being a Navy guy taught me in my preschool days how to fold my clothes and bed linens.
It's funny you should mention a goose.....I often give a toot on the airhorn when I'm passing a group of geese lol
Awesome Opossum, I remember! Even though you already answered it for me!
5700XE is nice, but the 4900 will always be my fav
what about that peal and stick Velcro for that couch cover..
good. in Washington kentworth was selling DAF trucks.
Kenworth and daf are partnerd both in the Paccar division
Real men take care of themselves and their stuff.
OK dude, you have to put a nice triple train horn on that truck, I love a rig that sounds like locomotive going down the tracks (road) lol.
what are you going to do for your moose bumper ?
you had i would think it wont fit on this truck without a welder & a few different drilled holes
t.c. be safe , have fun cas life is short how do i know cas i have throat cancer
thats a super duper truck! use it in good health sir.

is your moosebar coming back? you need a bigger airhorn for shure
The horn on my 2001 Toyota Highlander sounds exactly like a roadrunner horn.
NICE truck! Does this Western Star also come with a Mercedes/Detroit engine? The steering wheel and the transmission stickythingy come from the Mercedes Actros MK4. Have fun driving it!
I had to replay the air horn and horn part again and again, it was just to funny I laughed so hard!!!
Folding your laundry is good - Mum taught me to do the same. OCD is folding your laundry before you wash it - ha ha.
vector : a direction of travel, something that trucker take all the time.
I enjoy 40 ton cars with horns that belong on fiats.
Sweet Truck Josh!!!
Congratulations regarding your new truck!
Those horns do sound a bit silly. :)
Be careful on the road. Keep the shiny side up!
That's the new design of the Western Stars. Really don't see that many on the road.
Nice truck, Josh! I picked up a brand new one, with that new truck smell. Haha!
The truck is awesome!
Don't get pins you might tear the couch when Diesel lays on it Home Depot get Velcro strips more manly. Have good one Josh

Hi Josh Newish truck for me a Volvo FH 460 cab over along with a new job Monday but the truck is not in our yard so getting a lift from the yard in East Tilbury Essex England where I'll be based to the yard Bradford England where there the truck is along with a trailer which is about 200 miles away with all my junk and swap it all over oh happy days finding places to put it all again love the new truck thought but not the moving part
so Josh, the most important thing you left out, what Engine does it have?
+Robert Slate Detroit
+Trucker Josh VLOGS is it 10 or 12 speed manual when you put it into manual mode. I know the Cascadia Evolutions go to 12 speed and the Peterbilts go to 10 speed.
But it can be put into manual mode by flipping the switch to M. You can upshift by flipping the handle up or downshift by pushing the handle down.
+Robert Slate I hope it's the Detroit! I drove an International with 13 speed trans and a 318 Detroit back in the day and loved every minute of it!
+BasicScapes It's a DT12 automated manual transmission. And it is a 12 speed. It has a clutch and is setup like a manual transmission, just controlled automatically.
