Hahaha you nailed it! I completely agree. I'd almost rather be an owner operator with one of those old Kenworth or Pete's instead of driving a company Cascadia piece of shit
I run a Coronado with a dd15 and right now I literally sitting at a Freightshaker dealership in Ohio waiting to get work done, watching RUclips to kill time lol
You are by far my favorite to watch on RUclips. Straight forward, honest, old school answers. I wanted to thank you both as I just got accepted on to Landstar. Its my first owner/op experience and even though you don't think there is much money left in trucking I'm going to give it a go. Thanks for the great content, it has helped a lot. As a Peterbilt and Kenworth fan, I stand with you on your comments about Paccar building top quality trucks. We have a production plant in Australia and the trucks built there are all custom built, specced according to their intended work and built to a standard, not a price. Our range starts with the T359 (in 6x4, 8x4 and 10x4 specs) then goes up through the T409/T409SAR, T610/T610SAR (utilising the North American T680 cab) up to the T659. T909, K200 COE and C5 Series. The C5 Series are the biggest trucks Kenworth make in Australia, utilising three models: C509, C510 and C540. The C509 takes the T909 chassis and builds on that to make a heavy duty truck built for heavy duty applications, such as road train, heavy haul and mining.
My friend's Paccar threw a rod recently at just over 300K. He has gone through he'll with that engine. May be he is just talking about the truck and not the engine.
Here is my 7 months of truck driving experience opinion.. I drive a 379 snub nose with a sleeper. Accert 550 CAT. 18 Speed. Peterbilt and Kenworth are basically the Harley Davidson of the tractor market. Harley has a dealership in every major city. Lots of available aftermarket parts. Tons of them out there, so usually someone has parts lying around they will sell. Spare chrome parts and what not. I had the opinions while riding a japanese bike before I got a Harley. "I don't need a Harley. Harley's are always broke down. Harley's are over rated" blah blah blah. Finally I got a Harley and see what the buzz is about. Great ride. Parts are easy to come by. Great power and sound. Same thing with a Paccar tractor. People talk them down, because they can't afford one or their company will not put them in one. I am home every night and the worst part about my job is when I have to get into my pickup and drive home. I wish I had a 379 I could daily as well.
2016 Kenworth T 660 glider kit just checking in. 12.7 Detroit Diesel series 60 powered with a 13 speed, Studio sleeper Diamond interior and a whole lot of attitude! Great video. One of the main reasons I switched to KW is the fact that many other dealerships in the Southeast are open 24 hours 7 days a week. That is a big help if you need a part sometimes you can get work done during those hours.
Kenworth is the biggest selling brand class 8 in Australia, they even have a factory here. We have every brand of truck here imaginable, more brands than the USA, yet KW outsells them all by a country mile. Volvos and Scania are considered a round town truck. Agree but the aussie Kenworth road train is a different beast to the American stuff. They don't have a t908 do they? and I don't think you can get a t680 in Australasia can you?
I work for peterbilt in Denton tx as a mechanical engineer. But I’m one of two or three that have mechanic background. I worked at a rush peterbilt and have the experienced of knowing what fail and what is a better solution. Now I’m taking my mechanic experience and putting my two cents in help designing and building a quality truck. Thank you for the video. I’m going to show this to my upper regional boss.
Why can't you put doors on your PETE'S that could be driven in Alaska in the winter without freezing to death. It's not just me because you will not find a Pete with Alaska plates in in the winter. I called Kenworth on the subject and was told they been after The Pete factory for years and have gotten nowhere.
Some folks on here are complaining that the vid is biased. So what if it is. That's part of our economic system. It's called consumer preference. If most folks prefer kws' or peterbilts then maybe the other manufacturers should work on making a better product. That's all part of competition. Make a product folks like and can afford or your company dies.
My last 2 Freightliners have performed very well. The most recent is a 2012 Fitzgerald Glider...804k on it with only one minor engine hiccup...original injectors, clutch and turbo. Profit has been my middle name.
I haven't driven trucks in about 20 years, but I really enjoy your videos. I find your videos to be very educational, interesting and informative. Thanks for posting.
I'm not going to agree or disagree with you. Plus I've heard horror stories about fixing peterbuilts and kenworth trucks. But all trucks have there issue.
If it’s made by man it will eventually wear out break down or let you down none of them run flawlessly even if you stay on top of all your PM’s things happen. As technology advances trucks are becoming more complex for creature comforts, safety, economy, logistics, epa, creating more things that can and will go wrong. If there were such a thing as trouble free vehicle I’m not sure any of us could afford such a beast.
Freight shaker yes I recall spending off days with a Freightliner 14 hours waiting on warranty work...It was a lovely truck all done out but headaches in the rainy season in CA make a right turn and ya gut a cold shower...this was 1992 and it was a 1993 frite liner...Last I heard it had transmission problems all for 65k it was a cOe speced for triples. You make much sense...and dollars.
None, he's a trucker, he drives Pete's because for him in Canada it is what got the job done. If you listen to the end dude you'd heard Him say if the truck makes you money REGARDLESS OF THE MAKE it's a good truck. So it's not just shit to do only with peterbilts and Kenworth trucks. And I use to drive a Pete, only thing I hated was the damn Cummins in it
Just an idea , you might do a video on why the mega carriers get rid of their trucks early because they know the freightliners are going to start falling apart and then brag about having the newest fleets
One of my favorite things about Peterbilt and Kenworth is the fact that they still make a great classic style truck, and they make the big jellybean trucks too.
We have 8 trucks all 99 fld126 we maybe have a breakdown once a year but nothing major they get about eight miles to the gallon and we get them rebuilt at about 1.5 million and we work on all our own stuff so even a turbo 1 hour job no problem back on the road
I drove a 1998 385 pete for years. It was the best truck ever. It healed up good and was a simple designed and easy to fix. The only downside was that parts were expensive but I guess you get what you pay for.
Drove a Peterbilt 587 on my last highway job with a big Cummins over 500 horse and 1850 foot pounds of torque, bolted to a 18 speed stick. Awesome truck could do 600milles a day and still feel good, super comfy and quiet.
I worked as a security guard at the gate of a reclamation site seeing and watching the trucks pulling through that gate and I can tell that the best engine sound was for peterbilt and kw.
I've always been a fan of Pete 379s and KW W900s, but lately, I have had a thing for old flat-top Freightliner classics. I hope I get lucky and get a good one when I get my own truck.
I had a 2014 t680 with paccar mx13 thing was a piece of junk finely gave up trying to keep it on the road when it started blowing off coolant changed head and gasket but a week later started leaking at head gasket was told it would need a new engine spent 40k in 2 years just trying to keep it going and the warranty payed about 40 k also switched to a cascadia about a year ago no issues with it
Never had any trouble getting service in a Freightliner dealership. I'm presently in a 2020 T 680. It has a Cummins engine. My DDEC 15 out pulls this Cummins hands down. The engine computer has been a nightmare so far. One problem after another. If I were buying my own, after this 6 months in my Kenworth, I would buy a Freightliner.
In the 90's I worked in a shop owned by several truckers who ran the ice road in Alaska. They preferred Peterbilt's air ride suspension systems and showed me how Peterbilt used several mid sized components in their Air Trac system that could be easily replaced or adjusted, unlike the huge trailing arms of the Neway type suspension system where the bushings and components are so large, they're impossible to replace, unless you have a hundred ton portable press, and even then, those bushings come out of the housings, like a bullet out of a gun.
When I drove a KW it was always easy to get service, now that I drive a piece of shit “Vulva”, I miss those days. Volvo... a plastic modified cab over.🤬
I'd have to agree. It took a while for my company to open their eyes. We went from international to freightliners and we just got a whole new fleet of Petes.
You're a smart man. I applied over and over at a company with a fleet of KW's and I'm in my 3rd w900 now. Can't imagine driving anything else. Currently in a flat glass long hood hauling logs. When does that ever happen lol
I've got a friend that still drives the first truck that he bought new, a 1984 Peterbilt 359 EXHD, and it has around 5 million miles on the chassis. The engine has been rebuilt 4 times.
That's correctomundo! I had a Intertrashional Prostar with a max force. OMG!!!! BREAKDOWNS, Electrical problems, DEF problems, EPU problems and the list goes on. Freightliner was ok. T660 was GREAT love that truck. My current Pete. Love it. Everything I could expect and beyond.
Got a fire engine built on a two door Kenworth Class 7 truck. No get up and go off the line, but once once she's going, beautiful to drive. I know the City of Toledo OH makes heave use of Pete's for their fire rigs, 4door cabs. They love them.
I flat out REFUSE to drive a Cascadia or an Automatic. I walked the last highway job I had for that exact reason. Let the haters and trolls comment, but that is my truth. I refuse to run JUNK. First Cascadia I ever drove flat out died fully loaded at 62mph on the freeway through Cowtown. I dry steered it off the freeway in front of the Flying J. I refused that contract. 3 months later the company I drove for swapped me from a 70mph 18spd 500 Cummins Volvo to a Cascadia idrive DD goverened to 65 and I walked. Plain and simple.
I’m a tech for a major live haul fleet. We’ve been running Freightshackers with DD15s for quite a while now. They are off road as much as they are on. I was bias at first but in all honesty they have been holding up. They’re not a prity Pete or KayDub but they get the job done.
Loved my extended hood Pete’s the past 25 years but my new Volvo does ride better , way more quiet, better insulated , and you can’t beat there new automatic transmission , my last KW was broke down often with DEF issues . I agree Pete is best looking but they aren’t getting 7.5 mpg fuel mileage . It’s all about fuel mileage now days . Miss my Pete but love my 18 Volvo .
I got a sweet 2015 Kenworth T680, Thermo King tripac, 13 speed with the paccar engine, it pulls like a big pete, I has just got over 325,000 miles on it & the engine is getting stronger by the mile, I really love the 13 speed too., that's the way to go with these new governed engines, I can stay within the power band on a climb & it does not puke the white smoke during a regen either, I never know its working but it is. I love the layout with all the gauges & the kick butt stereo with the bunk subwoofer & the built in fridge. I love the truck & the purple color as its about time the industry makes something besides black & white or blue. yes I have had a few minor problems with it but none in a long time, lots of hard road miles & its getting a beating out here.
Your correct on freightliner, your forgetting about Western Star, I own a paccar now and have always driven them, literally always, but in switching to Western Star, better built than paccar, better warrantee than paccar, and way better price, yes I know they are owned by the same company as freightliner, but are a completely different entity, just a better built tougher rugged truck... absolutely Pete’s and kenworth have the looks, but turning heads never made me more money
I would say they are more expensive. Know that from experience. And I've had this same problems with Kenworth, not being able to get in and then have 4 different Kenworth dealers misdiagnose my problem. Spent 14,000 at 4 different Kenworth dealers to find out at the 5th it was a crack in my fuel filter housing that didn't cost over 450 dollars to get fixed. I own a Freightliner Coronado also and also a couple Columbias never been misdiagnosed. But we will agree to disagree on that , but I often look at your channel cause you are very informative and knowledgeable. You do a damn good job keep it up. Oh by the way the Coronado I have is a Fitzgerald glider kit rig. Please keep doing what you do I have gotten alit of good info from you. Can tell you love Kenworths and Pete's they are nice.
Hey i love the kenny's and pete's but dont talk shit about volvo, lets be real in an economic and ergonomic, driver friendly based truck is the volvo, itll never let you down
You get what you pay for. KW`s and Pete`s are always 40% more expensive than other makes. Thanks for the video. This gives me more confidence in getting into a new W900 that just bought.👍
I don’t care what anybody says. Any real trucker appreciates a kw or pete. A driver can take pride in his ride when you drive a nice longhood pete or kw.
I drive a 2018 Kenworth T680 with a x15 cummins that a company gave me with only 60 miles on the odometer. Now with 280k miles with very little problems on it. From there, I will never drive a freightliner or Volvo again. My kenworth is by far the most reliable truck I have ever driven
I do agree with him about Freightliner. They have gone down quite a bit because they got rid of the classic. I own an 03 Classic XL, and love it. But, I do not agree with the down time. My truck has only been in the shop one time because I had a bad Jake solenoid on the center set from when I bought it. Freightliner is also cheaper for parts. I got the same brand airlines at Freightliner, for $140 that i would have paid $250 at Paccar.
My only experience with Paccar was driving a KW T660 and for the entire time that I drove that thing, it gave me so many problems, from leaving me stranded on the interstate, in the middle of a work site, holding up traffic, to minor nuisances such as the AC not working, to drinking up coolant faster than any truck I've seen, and giving me the middle finger if I didnt constantly fill it. I experienced so many issues that I never had to worry about in a Cascadia. Probably if I had a better model I'd love Paccar stuff, but as it currently stands, I definitely prefer frieghtliners, lol
I agree with you. Kenworth and Peterbilt makes the best and reliable trucks compared to Western Stars and Freightliner. But have to add that European trucks like Volvo and Scania are pretty tough too.
Hey Dave just got a 2017 Kenworth t680 with Schneider they told me that I was going to be training for an auto and getting an auto I told them the only way I would stay with them is if I got one of the Kenworths. I have to say the kenworth is 100x nicer than the freightliner. The only complaint with the truck is that it is an auto. I know I’m not making enough money right now to buy my own truck but eventually I want to either lease or buy my own truck and pull for Schneider. And I will be driving a Paccar vehicle until I retire. Will not drive anything else. Thank you for everything you do. You really have helped me get what I want with a mega carrier. I get the loads I want I even got a truck they only give to their best guys!! Might be saying something since I’ve been watching you before I even started driving. Again thank you for everything you do. I try to learn from all your knowledge!
It's all about the Classic look with you. Thats all that matters to you. My nephew was always a Kenworth guy. He has A Volvo now and never looked back!
Great video, I'll add some insider info I learned after speaking to the owner of a large trucking company. They own over 75 class 8s, what he said to me is they will no longer be purchasing Diesel haulers; They will be upgrading their fleet with Tesla semi trucks as they replace their oldest models and their fleet ages out. Take that for what it's worth but I tend to agree that is the future and it will improve their margins greatly compared to anything else on the market
The only reason Freightliner has market share is the DD 15.....If Cat had been a bit more energetic in figuring out the DEF issue...Then I wouldn't have to ride around in my plastic box
Freightliner Cascadia is the chassis used for a large percentage of the Super C RVs. They just blow those chassis out the door in volume and the RV companies are picking them up for the Super C RVs.
I agree! Peterbilt and Kenworth ( Paccar Motors ) are the best Rigs on the road! The Peterbilt 379 and Kenworth W900L have to be two of my favorites! Awesome video and keep em rolling! 🇺🇸🚛
After emissions came out all trucks went to crap. Doesn’t matter what you drive. All will die. Especially if you get a Cummins with DEF you’ll get around 500-600 k and truck is done for needs overhaul. It’s a joke what these pathetic emissions have done to these trucks!
A couple of weeks to get into a Freightliner? I've never had to wait more than 2 days and that is rare. TA is also a Freightliner service point. I have had several Freightliners and they have been good to me. I currently have a 2015 Cascadia with 665k miles on it and it's been great.
Michael Breeland The quality of the truck is only 20%, 80% of that is the engine transmission and driveline, the Cummins X 15 has proven itself even better than all of the cats, it breaks my heart to say that but it's true. Detroit engine suck ass, rumor has been going around that ever since Freightliner purchased Detroit engines they started to suck ass even more, unfortunately, Detroit engines are made under low density casting, with low density casting the engine will flex too much during the changing seasons and in less than 200 to 214,000 miles you start suffer an engine oil leaks and other major problems, such as bolts loosening up around the piston springs, I went through three freightliners in almost 4 1/2 years smfh!!, I tried the Paccar engine and it was just a better version of Detroit no real pulling power even with a 3.33 gear ratio, I was ready to go back to the cat engines until I've been hearing about the fuel benefit and the power of the Cummins X 15. With the old cat engines it takes 28 to 31.2 gallons to go 100 miles; with the Mac engine you get 28 to 30 gallons to go 100 miles; with Detroit engines you get 25 to 27.8 gallons for 100 miles; with the Cummins X 15, specifically, it's 19 to 23.2 gallons for 100 miles, this is all at a gear ratio of 3.0, gear ratios under 3.0 is mostly fuel economy. Nevertheless, these numbers change depending on your route, the season, and your load and tire brand; Bridgestone/Firestone tires are like glued to the ground you get 100% full traction no slack or slip even when bobtailing with those tires especially if you keep your tires inflated at manufacture specification which is between 100 & 110 psi; With Michelin you need the weight to keep you at 100% traction and your fifth wheel needs to be set right I love my KWT 680 cummins X 15 engine and a gear ratio of 3.11, I spent a little over $1800 to fill up all of the action mechanics with Motokote oil 100% anti-friction, won't have to change the engine oil for the next five years
Yea but i wanna buy one them new trux that kenworth, peterbuilt and freightliner went in on together and built,i believe they call it a peter worth shaking🤔😂
From watching your videos, I know you're a Pete man. My dad was too and he was ready to choke the life out of me when I bought my first tractor, a Freightliner! This was back in 1999. The thing is that every part of every vehicle is mass produced so you're bound to get a bad one now and then no matter what brand you buy. I own 5 Freightliners now and they're all making me money. My only complaint about Freightliner is that they don't offer a truck that looks like a truck anymore, you know, dual stacks and all the chrome that makes it a truck. That's why I had my 2 Classic XLs completely gone through 2 years ago. I also own 2 Cascadias as well as a 95 FLD 12064 which is the truck that upset dad so much! My point is...they're all good trucks no matter what emblem is on the grille...except for that 1 in 1000 that's a bad apple. Be safe out there!
All my experience is with peterbilts, freightliner and kenworth's, I used to think Peterbilts and kenworths were like buying a harley over say a kawasaki just a buying a name kinda thing. I've never been more surprised, the build quality difference between them was huge. I'll never drive a frieghtliner again, I hated driving down the ice road in a brand new cascadia and having interior screws falling out, rattling every where. Switched to a peterbilt 579 the next year for the ice and it didn't rattle, or fall apart...plus rode smoother! The detroit dd16 in the frieghtliner would out pull my mx13 paccar no problem but the paccar is the longer lasting engine by far.
Both have been owned by PACCAR at least 40 years. That's Pacific Car and Foundry which builds railroad cars and owned by railroad. This all started back before deregulation when registration weight fees were all moved to tractor relieving piggyback service from registration weight fees. Nice review.
I'll keep my 2007 international 9400 for now, while they filling up every 600 miles I can go at least 1300 miles before next fill up,I drove a 386 and t660 so I know🖒
I'm driving a 2014 kw with a pac car motor.. 2 driver 2 shifts 5 days a week. I got this truck brand new. It now has 1027102 miles and it's still going strong... no major problems so far... best truck I've ever had.
a truck with barely any problems is a good truck
What happened to the days when all truck manufacturers in America made quality products?
Nothing more depressing than driving a dd15 cascadia and seeing the old timers blow your doors away in their old kenworth's and pete's.
Crossbone Vanguard lol😂😂 even those centuries n columbias with serie60 12.7 dust us
Hahaha you nailed it!
Sorry guys.
No harm intended.
Just trying to get to point b....
😊
company drivers 😂😂😂😂 it ain't about driving fast you dummy , you must not own your own shit...
And I've bought a Pete! Be safe.
Landstar's a good outfit and you'll learn the business there! Good luck! Dave
Any truck with EGR, DEF, or DPF units are garbage
You are 100% correct because when my d e f switch started acting crazy it shut the truck down so I refilled the tank and the switch still didn't reset and it cost me to lose power to where I couldn't go above 5 miles per hour cost me two days downtime as well which one of those days was Sunday and which no dealerships are open so i was stuck out in the middle of nowhere
If it's making you money, that's a good truck! Well said. Thanks
You forgot Western Star, world wide recognized as the superior standard.
My grandfather was a long haul trucker he died before I could ask him about his driving carrier so that's y I watch this channel thanks
Paccar used to be good but now is totally shit. Been running paccar for the past six years and had nothing but problems...especially the paccar engines! It doesn’t matter what you buy these days, it’s all junk now.
Pete 379/389 and KW W900 ALL DAY!!!! These trucks are the Cadillacs of the road people
Mr. Pink studio sleeper
Mr. Pink totalled agreed. W900 my fav, flat top
379 my favorite
Kenworth trucks are over enginered.the repair cost are outragious.if I was a up start owner operator I'd choose a frieghtliner any day
Cadillac may cost a lot but they do nothing but break down

I’ll take my Detroit Series 60 12.7 Glider over a Pacar engine any day.

I have to roll my windows down to close my doors on my 379 and it’s an 07 with 2,000,000 miles on it

pacar was actually shortened from pacific car and freight they actually started off making railroad box cars!
You posted this 2 years ago. In a different video you posted a year ago, you did NOT mention Paccar engine as one of the 10 best. Why?
If it’s made by man it will eventually wear out break down or let you down none of them run flawlessly even if you stay on top of all your PM’s things happen. As technology advances trucks are becoming more complex for creature comforts, safety, economy, logistics, epa, creating more things that can and will go wrong. If there were such a thing as trouble free vehicle I’m not sure any of us could afford such a beast.
I was thinking of a freight liner, Pete, or Ken Worth . This is really helpful
Freight shaker yes I recall spending off days with a Freightliner 14 hours waiting on warranty work...It was a lovely truck all done out but headaches in the rainy season in CA make a right turn and ya gut a cold shower...this was 1992 and it was a 1993
frite liner...Last I heard it had transmission problems all for 65k it was a cOe speced for triples. You make much sense...and dollars.
How much is paccar paying this dude?
They don’t have to pay a man to speak truth. Nothing beats a Pete or a W900
And I use to drive a Pete, only thing I hated was the damn Cummins in it
I don’t know which engine is worse ,paccard or maxforce...
My friend bought a pete 5 years ago never had an issue no headaches its worth it !
Jellybean trucks! Never heard that before but I love it! Dave
Smart-Trucking.com Really? I thought you had used it in one of your videos. Maybe it was someone else.
We have 8 trucks all 99 fld126 we maybe have a breakdown once a year but nothing major they get about eight miles to the gallon and we get them rebuilt at about 1.5 million and we work on all our own stuff so even a turbo 1 hour job no problem back on the road
Nothing beats a Kenworth W900 with a brand new Cummins in it!
JessieJ that X15. Lol.
A W900 or a 379 with a 3406E Cat does. Especially a 3406E 6NZ
I like Pete 379 but don’t buy with Paccar Moter Get C 15 cat Cummings or Detroit Paccar socks
I have a 2013 Freightliner Cascadia Auto Trans 505hp. Had it since 2014 and never had to take it to the shop. Had not one single issue with it
Gotta like that! Dave
Even local freightshakers are always in the shop. Our lot had 2 sterlings on regular rotation cause we always had 1 or 2 out of 10 trucks in the shop
I had a 2014 t680 with paccar mx13 thing was a piece of junk finely gave up trying to keep it on the road when it started blowing off coolant changed head and gasket but a week later started leaking at head gasket was told it would need a new engine spent 40k in 2 years just trying to keep it going and the warranty payed about 40 k also switched to a cascadia about a year ago no issues with it
Stevens has always been KW for the 26 years I've been there. We have only recently added Pets and freight liners.
K Ws are just a beautiful truck. I want one eventually
The last good trucks that Freightliner made was the FLC and the Classic. The FLD Also held their own.
Kenworth and peterbilt are awesome
Volvo... a plastic modified cab over.🤬
Ken Munoz yep
I'd have to agree. It took a while for my company to open their eyes. We went from international to freightliners and we just got a whole new fleet of Petes.
Here in Colombia Paccard: PTRBLD and KNWRTH is the dominant brand.
You're a smart man. I applied over and over at a company with a fleet of KW's and I'm in my 3rd w900 now. Can't imagine driving anything else. Currently in a flat glass long hood hauling logs. When does that ever happen lol
Not often enough! Good job! Dave
Your right however don't forget Western Star. Too heavy but they love logging roads.
Hit the nail on the head with this one. I've worked on them all in my career. Favorite trucks are Kenworth and Peterbilt
I have a freightliner xl classic and I have had no problems just maintanece. Good ole cat power just keeps going.
I've got a friend that still drives the first truck that he bought new, a 1984 Peterbilt 359 EXHD, and it has around 5 million miles on the chassis. The engine has been rebuilt 4 times.
Nice! Dave
Man... this is an amazing testimonial.
Thanks Paul! Dave
Never drove a KW or Pete that I didn't like. Definitely can't say that about the Volvos I've been running the past few years.
Ken I hated every mile I had to spend in both.
That's what counts! Dave
Ivan Machmueller automatic lol😂😂😂
RB25luvGT35R It's true. Better on fuel then a manual.
can you get the newer i-shift 2 in america yet?. the dual clutch?.
I got 9.5 to 10 mpg on a 579 pete with a 13 mx paccar engine
Thank you sir! Dave
379 ftw 😍 love ya peterbilt
Very smart man, easy to listen to and good content
I appreciate that!
Hey i love the kenny's and pete's but dont talk shit about volvo, lets be real in an economic and ergonomic, driver friendly based truck is the volvo, itll never let you down
I own a KW 900L, 1999, and I LOVE IT, I also drive an old PETERBILT 379, and I LOVE IT!! driven, all the rest, now I own the BEST!!!!
Love the KenWorth. I du a lot of mines off road driving. KW hold up run great. FreighShakers fall apart with in a year
👍💪
Excellent, listen about the clutch linkage. Only pedal used more then the brake... That hardcore wisdom. Thank you for all your videos
Thank you Jonathan! Dave
I agree, "you can't beat a sweet Pete"
You get what you pay for. KW`s and Pete`s are always 40% more expensive than other makes. Thanks for the video. This gives me more confidence in getting into a new W900 that just bought.👍
I don’t care what anybody says. Any real trucker appreciates a kw or pete. A driver can take pride in his ride when you drive a nice longhood pete or kw.
Great info, exactly the information I was in search of. Tired of dealing with Freightliner emissions issues. Thanks for this video
I miss the OLD P57 Marmon...:(
I drive a 2018 Kenworth T680 with a x15 cummins that a company gave me with only 60 miles on the odometer. Now with 280k miles with very little problems on it. From there, I will never drive a freightliner or Volvo again. My kenworth is by far the most reliable truck I have ever driven
Yeah, the Pete dealer always gets me in quick for 139 bucks an hour.
carlylea love to know what dealer you are going to for that rate
I do agree with him about Freightliner. They have gone down quite a bit because they got rid of the classic. I own an 03 Classic XL, and love it. But, I do not agree with the down time. My truck has only been in the shop one time because I had a bad Jake solenoid on the center set from when I bought it. Freightliner is also cheaper for parts. I got the same brand airlines at Freightliner, for $140 that i would have paid $250 at Paccar.
carlylea lol 😂
BRADY SCHROEDER the classics are pretty nice trucks. I think this video was talking more about the junk cascadias the big companies use
I was turned away from two Pete shops because is was a warrantee repair. I lost two days pay!
Hey, thanks Zach! Enjoy the ride! Dave
Didn't know that!
but i still prefer the sound of the old 2 valve detroit over a paccar
Yes it is! Take a perfectly good engine and screw it up with an emission system! Dave
What and see with X15 Cummins. Less issue than ISX15.
Just delete it and run Schaeffers oils and fuel treatments. It’ll hold up just as long as a Series 60.......just not like a 3406E caterpillar
A couple of weeks to get into a Freightliner? I've never had to wait more than 2 days and that is rare. TA is also a Freightliner service point. I have had several Freightliners and they have been good to me. I currently have a 2015 Cascadia with 665k miles on it and it's been great.
Michael Breeland
The quality of the truck is only 20%, 80% of that is the engine transmission and driveline, the Cummins X 15 has proven itself even better than all of the cats, it breaks my heart to say that but it's true.
Detroit engine suck ass, rumor has been going around that ever since Freightliner purchased Detroit engines they started to suck ass even more, unfortunately, Detroit engines are made under low density casting, with low density casting the engine will flex too much during the changing seasons and in less than 200 to 214,000 miles you start suffer an engine oil leaks and other major problems, such as bolts loosening up around the piston springs, I went through three freightliners in almost 4 1/2 years smfh!!,
I tried the Paccar engine and it was just a better version of Detroit no real pulling power even with a 3.33 gear ratio, I was ready to go back to the cat engines until I've been hearing about the fuel benefit and the power of the Cummins X 15.
Nevertheless, these numbers change depending on your route, the season, and your load and tire brand; Bridgestone/Firestone tires are like glued to the ground you get 100% full traction no slack or slip even when bobtailing with those tires especially if you keep your tires inflated at manufacture specification which is between 100 & 110 psi; With Michelin you need the weight to keep you at 100% traction and your fifth wheel needs to be set right
I love my KWT 680 cummins X 15 engine and a gear ratio of 3.11, I spent a little over $1800 to fill up all of the action mechanics with Motokote oil 100% anti-friction, won't have to change the engine oil for the next five years
Yea but i wanna buy one them new trux that kenworth, peterbuilt and freightliner went in on together and built,i believe they call it a peter worth shaking🤔😂
Favorite truck of all time always has been a t800. Best ride most comfortable best turning radius hands down
Good trucks! Did you know KW rates its own trucks for reliability and they rate the T8 as their best! Dave
Didn't know that. Knew they're the best selling of all time and that there are a million of them. Interesting tidbit though.
Before Def yes. After these things are junk. Constantly blowing headlights. We drive All Far as new we fight for the Volvos.
By the way its deleted if you know what I meen. 😉
Love my Peterbilt!
Love your videos. Always informative
Thank you!
