Most instructional videos on RUclips have a poor quality, awful commentary and missing information. This had none of those problems. Excellent video. Many can learn from this!
I use a glaziers suction cup to grab the window. Sometimes you don't even need to cut the seal with it, just pull firmly a couple times and.... POP! :-D But yes, a razor knife gets it just fine!
big project but glad to see your going to bring it back to see the road one more time; worth the effort plus you gain a lot of new skills and have fun doing it.
The hood seal? I think I mentioned it once, but get the German one with the long bits on it and then pull them through with pliers. Make sure to use dawn to lube them up. Then you can stretch it to slip it into the channels in sections.

5150mxVW haha thanks J. I think I need to start writing some sort of script 😂
Thanks man! Avery I don't think you need a script, it sounded pretty good to me.
great job on all your super beetles. Good to see a little competition with you and 5150
Don't forget to label your parts as you remove them!! It helps with reassembly!! Keep up the great work!!
Honestly love this because the car is so similar to mine😬
What if you don't want to cut the seal??
You can try to push it out, but results may vary.
Hello, what is the model of the beetle?
This was a '71 Super Beetle.

Not a fan of handheld camera, easily gets way too shakey. It ruins the shot.. But like the "How-to" idea...
Yeah it get's a bit shaky at times but it's the best way to show things up close. I try to use a tripod for normal shots though. Thanks for watching!
Best of luck with the project...
