The classic commemorative halves are very beautiful. CT, TX, Oregon Trail are my favorites. The eagles on the first two are stunning and harken back to an earlier time. Great content, thank you.
I stumbled into 3 of those untouched by human hands in capsules about 25 years ago and I have always wondered about them . Thank you for doing this video about them .
Stumbled up in here.... halves was my entry point to silver.... walkers. Love Franklin's, Kennedy's I scoop.... but you showed something I'm not aware of..... still watching... I have a Columbus.
I take this same approach with the brown and blue ikes. They are under rated, no one seems to like them so you can usually get them pretty cheap. I snag them up when i can. One day they will be worth a lot more. So if you can grab one for $12, get it.
US commemorative 90% silver dollars and a couple of 90% halfs like the Washington on the resale market have been my go to stack coin. Still US coinage but without the premiums of Morgs and Peace.
I don't think I've ever heard it referenced other than just slightly unusual "kerning" or spacing of printed letters. The round nature of the bases of the "o" makes the two "o o"s seem farther away from each other. I'd be interested to hear any other theories.
@ I’m guessing a bad error , that they never corrected . I’ve done research and I’ve read that the dies were of poor quality . Hopefully not because of his race .
I love stacking modern proofs. I own multiple modern silver commemorative dollars, presidential metals as well as many silver quarters. I am trying to buy proof Kennedy silver half dollars right now. One can find deals on these if he looks hard enough, especially state and women’s quarters. I have bought some of these below spot and almost not too much over, with a few exceptions for coins I love like modern Presidential medals or really cool modern commemorative proofs. I collect old Mercury divers and Walking Liberty half dollars wit many great examples, so I am not keen on the damaged junk silver. I prefer buying new silver that looks great..
@@Dub-C_Coins I’m sorry - but THE US MINT SELLS SPECIAL MINT SETS with .999 pure silver dimes , quarters , and Kennedy half’s . I bought (3) for three years in a row …
I went to a dealer he was at 23.00 times face value.I asked him about the two Washington half dollars in the blue box and 1 in the burgundy box.He told me 20 each so I bought them both, and was wow I just got a dollar at $20.00 times face.I was shaking my head and smiling to myself.
This program virtually brings a coin club into my home. All the best. Thank you.
@@gregoryhoefer3660 Thanks for watching and commenting! Nice to hear.
I like the in-depth instructional video preserving commemorative silver coinage history. Very nice tutorial instructing attention to detail

@@Dub-C_Coins Definitely! Thanks again and you got another sub - keep it up.
I picked up a few of those Washington halves 2 weeks ago as I had nvr seen them . 👍🇺🇸
Bought a couple of them in the sealed boxes, Washington Comm.
@matthewbyrns-sp8lb very nice pickup my friend
@matthewbyrns-sp8lb did you see the Ellis Island haves I shared on my shorts? Those are nice too
I've been buying these Washington halves now. i can't stop, LOL.

They kind of sneak up on everyone. Glad you liked the video!
I did not know there was a 1982 Washington half proof (ignorant Englishman 🙂); they are very pretty. And great, informative video - thank you! 👍
Informative video, I’ve found 2 of the non proof silver Washington commemoratives coin roll hunting
That's awesome! What a thrill that would be!
Yo........ I been in this game since 2008...1st I'm seeing this 1982....I'm on the HUNT! Thanks.
Have you seen the 1986 liberty halves ?
I've got a stack of 1986 liberty halves and one of the 1986 liberty dollars 🇺🇸
I also found one of the silver bill of rights half dollars coin roll hunting
This presentation was great! Every question my tater tot eating brain conceived was answered with your next sentence. Thanks for sharing.

@@allthingssilver7635 Another great option and a great suggestion!
I TOTALLY agree !
And I do !
Excellent video!
Gracias, Amigo!
Actually the half dollar in the in ur 1993 commerative set is 90% silver. The other years r clad. But the 1993 is silver.
DOH! Good catch. The 1993 Bill of Rights half is 90%. Typical Dub-C: pick the one half for illustration and it's the wrong (or right) one!
Shush, you're letting out one of my secrets, and now the price of those GW commeratives will go up!
Heck yeah! Another Washington stacker! :)
I just picked up TWO. Will be buying more, also told my stacking friends about them and they are now buy em too!!
@ct87gn25 tell em about the channel too!
Ct87gn brought me here. Looks like a great channel!
@@Ken-o7j I told ya Ken!
I'm partial to the 1986 Ellis Island silver coin.
I have the 1986 half and the 1986 liberty dollars 🇺🇸
I picked up a proof roll of 1982 Washington’s. I overpaid but I love the Washington image on horse.
Really cool!

@rickybobbytexas3487 Exactly! Good to see another half stacker.
Interesting 🤔
also i like to pick up the commemorative silver dollars minted in the 80's when the price is right.
@@joelp6197 Smaller mintages than the Morgan and peace too!
Can you please explain the “ space “ that the US Mint put on the 1946 - 1951

I recently got .999 dime , quarter , Kennedy half .
The silver dime, quarter, and half dollar are 90%. The silver eagles, and recent commemorative pieces are made of .999 silver.

@@rudeawakening3833 You are correct.
there were several proof half dollar coins minted after 1964.
True. But even the silver ones were only 40% rather than 90%.
Those Christopher Columbus halves are not cheap
It's not unusual for me to find average circulated examples for a few dollars over melt. Sometimes cheaper than that.
I can get either or proof orr non proof.$10.00 each
Heck of a deal!
Below spot??
