In my D&D campaign, I made a prop that was an excerpt of what’s called The Book of Vile Darkness. I filled this prop with scrabbled writings about bringing the world down to hell. I don't even like the concept of "evil" any longer. I prefer good and bad. Evil for those choosing harm of othes claimed external agency (possession) instead of taking responsibility for their acts. And, "evil" is inherent and immutable as a concept for most humans. Lastly, right/wrong involves choice, which separates man from beasts. Today my coworkers and I were talking about one of our colleagues that is sympathetic to communism, China, Russia etc. although he also appreciates too much a good life, living in an expensive neighborhood, owning an expensive car, hiring an expensive company to organize his children’s birthdays, traveling a lot and taking care of his family assets, cause his parents are elderly and have some properties (they were traders). I've been thinking in recent months about what must have motivated people like Marx and people like Mao. The best description of their views in regards to religion I can think of is to call them antitheists. An atheist will leave the religious alone, an antitheist is openly hostile to religion.

I remember reading parts of Marx's satanic poems back in 2001. It surprised me back then as I wondered why a strict atheist would be down with, not just a figure from the Bible, but the villain of the Bible at that. Before everyone cries "Satan" there's so many other possible layers to this. If you suffer great loss and injustice and the great pains that follow, then a natural part of the spiritual journey through that can take someone through these places. If you look at the works of Dennis Wheatley (a British horror writer of early/mid 20th century). A number of books have communists as enemies, and often in cahoots with dark forces (satanism). Today my coworkers and I were talking about one of our colleagues that is sympathetic to communism, China, Russia etc. although he also appreciates too much a good life, living in an expensive neighborhood, owning an expensive car, hiring an expensive company to organize his children’s birthdays, traveling a lot and taking care of his family assets, cause his parents are elderly and have some properties (they were traders). I've been thinking in recent months about what must have motivated people like Marx and people like Mao. The best description of their views in regards to religion I can think of is to call them antitheists. An atheist will leave the religious alone, an antitheist is openly hostile to religion.

My sense is that he is in deep grief and pain and he needs to compartmentalize it and shut it away until the tour is over and he can come home and grieve properly. When I saw him in Boston that’s the feeling I had.

Before everyone cries "Satan" there's so many other possible layers to this. If you suffer great loss and injustice and the great pains that follow, then a natural part of the spiritual journey through that can take someone through these places. Job went through some similar places.

If you look at the works of Dennis Wheatley (a British horror writer of early/mid 20th century). A number of books have communists as enemies, and often in cahoots with dark forces (satanism). Now, I am an atheist for any personal gods - some are great fun, but just stories. At a multiversal level, I am agnostic - I simply don't have evidence to say one way or another.
But, regardless of my stance, I am well aware of the history of western thinking, including how Christianity has played a large part.There is something 'off' with leftism. I cannot say satanism, as I don't believe, but there is an underlying evil. I think this evil is very human. It is essentially a combination of hedonism and narcissism (at the very least). Interesting, Wheatley pretty much had these things as the core problems with his views on Satanism. I can see how we can conflate very human failings with a supernatural cause.
Ultimately, the left (modern left in countries where one has a choice) are emotionally unstable, cognitively damaged, and yes (in the clinical sense) narcissists. I note that 'narcissist' is actually just a polite way to say 'c*nt'.
