    Hi Luca, I've only recently discovered you and the world of the RUclips polyglots. I'm a social scientist who has studied and learned languages over decades as part of life-long commitments to learning and being deeply ensconced in particular places. Only in the last ten years did I begin to learn new languages for 'other' reasons and in other modes. I have found your commitment to & passion for learning refreshing and inspirational. I'm also impressed by your high standards (not universal among RUclips polyglots) and thoughtful approach to study. I think you are completely wrong about being able to engage either Chinese or Japanese in anything other than the most superficial manner without learning Chinese characters, but in the bigger scheme of things that's no more than a quibble!

    I think the foundation of your method which is massive exposure to the target language by listening and reading is almost the same as Matt's Method (Massive immersion) which is based on AJATT. It all follows Stephen Krashen's Comprehensible Input Theory. You mentioned that having someone to speak with while you're learning a language that is very similar to your native is good. I'm not sure if you think the same for languages that aren't similar to your native. Matt recommends having a "silent period". Several months where you just listen to content and learn vocabulary not to speak but only to understand. He says that learning to understand first before trying to speak will help you a lot because you will create an instinct for what sounds right and what sounds wrong just like natives. After that you can start practicing speaking, it will be easier because you can already understand native content and native speakers. What do you think about this Luca?

    Mi è sembrata una live molto interessante e produttiva. Avrei due domande da porti.
    1) Farai un video sulla "visualization"? Credo sia un tema molto interessante, poco sviluppato e mi è piaciuto molto il tuo approcio alla Napoleon Hill.
    2) Sto studiando un concorso, nel tempo libero mi piacerebbe continuare a studiare tedesco. Ho peró paura di sovraccaricarmi di informazioni e quindi perdermi. Cosa ne pensi? Meglio aspettare la fine del concorso o credi che posso studiare? Grazie 1000.

    • @LucaLampariello
      @LucaLampariello  3 года назад

      Buongiorno!
      1) Ho fatto un video e scritto un articolo sull'argomento:
      Video: ruclips.net/video/osAHBXRn6Ls/видео.html
      Articolo: www.lucalampariello.com/motivated-learning-a-new-language/
      2) Dipende da te, ma se mi trovassi nella tua situazione, finirei prima il concorso e poi mi butterei sul tedesco.
      Per ora è tutto! Un saluto da Roma =)
