      Feel free to share which books we have in common-I’d love to know! 😊 By the way, this is just a sneak peek of my Language Learning Book collection, but if you’re interested, I’d be happy to create more videos showcasing the hundreds of other books I own, covering topics like history, self-help, cosmology, physics, language learning (ça va sans dire!) and so much more. Let me know what you’d like to see next! 📚

    Love a good language book tour! I have a huge language library myself, with over 1000 books in for learning more than 100 different languages. So it’s always fun to see what other people have! I love to see that your books are USED as well, not just purchased and sitting on the shelf just for show. My Latin teacher at university would sometimes comment on it if a student had a book which still looked new and unused and we were well into the semester, the she didn’ t believe they were doing much studying!😅😅

    Thank you for sharing this; it was enjoyable to see your library. You are the first person to confirm the importance of a direct word-for-word translation. I would love to hear more about it!
    While "normal" translations are helpful for anyone simply trying to understand, I find they can hinder my language learning if I'm not careful. I want to think like a native speaker and learn the language as a native does. For that, I need to read and learn in the same way they do, rather than simply interpreting their words as an English speaker.

I love Assimil as well (one of my native languages is French and I find it easier to learn Spanish/Russian/Italian from French compared to learning through English) and have a similar process of writing and highlighting stuff, particularly early on in a language through maybe the earlier intermediate stage.

    I’ve given up on Arabic, tried so many different ways, teachers, methods, standard Arabic, accents etc. Don’t usually have a problem with languages radically different from European languages or new scripts. The worst was every teacher I worked with was so discouraging and snooty. I’ve recently started with Farsi, also with Assimil, and it’s already going so much better… going to add a small group course soon. Like really, 5000 % easier than Arabic.

      Polis: Speaking Ancient Greek as a Living Language
      A textbook that teaches Ancient Greek through full immersion, emphasizing spoken language to internalize grammar and vocabulary.
      Italian Athenaze
      The Italian edition of Athenaze aligns more closely with the natural method compared to the English version, offering a more intuitive learning experience.

      That's a great question! I normally either find material that is a bit more advanced than ASSIMIL (book + audio) or I start consuming Podcasts and Videos. I do it in a very systematic and specific way (these techniques are called SLP (Smart Learning with Podcasts) and SLV (Smart Learning with Videos) - I explain those in detail in my OIP Course (Overcoming the Intermediate Plateau). The strategy is the same for each language but the material is different. I will make a video about all that because is a critical passage in everyone's learning journey.

    Hi Luca, meanwhile I am on my 6th foreign language. With the exception of English, which I learnt at school, I learnt the basics all on myself - with Langenscheidt Praktischer Sprachlehrgang. If you are familiar with them I‘d like to hear your opinion - in comparison to your other sources. Thanks in advance to hearing from you, Thomas

      Ciao Roberto e grazie per il messaggio! Beh, per aumentare il tuo livello di comprensione l'unica cosa importante da fare è ascoltare a lingua ogni giorno, per almeno 15-30 minuti al giorno.

    Luca innanzitutto complimenti per i tuoi video e per i contenuti che porti costantemente!
    Da studente di arabo non sono molto d'accordo col parallelismo che hai fatto tra il Fusha e il latino...se è vero che nei paesi di lingua araba si parla quotidianamente il dialetto, il Fusha (a differenza del latino) è la lingua dei media (i telegiornali sono in Fusha), è insegnata a scuola (come l'italiano da noi) ed è la lingua del Corano. Di conseguenza ci si aspetta che ogni persona di normale istruzione lo comprenda nel parlato, anche se sicuramente potrebbe avere difficoltà ad esprimersi in modo assolutamente corretto. Inoltre l'arabo scritto è quello Fusha, quindi se vuoi leggere un giornale o un libro...quello devi sapere :) Spero che proverai ad imparare l'arabo, è davvero una lingua bellissima!

    • @LucaLampariello
      @LucaLampariello  29 дней назад +1

      Interessante, ne ho parlato a lungo questi giorni con due ragazzi libanesi, che mi spingevano ad evitare il Fusha ed imparare direttamente la loro versione libanese dell'arabo.

    • @riccardocalcagno9998
      @riccardocalcagno9998 29 дней назад

      @LucaLampariello probabilmente se l'obiettivo principale è la conversazione il dialetto rappresenta la scelta ideale...e il dialetto levantino, insieme all'egiziano, è un'ottima scelta. Sicuramente nel mio piccolo sono di parte, avendo iniziato col Fusha e avendo un insegnante che spinge su quello :)
      Temo però (ma sarei curioso di sapere se sul punto hai ricevuto feedback) che partendo dalla sola base dialettale la lettura di libri e giornali o l'ascolto di tg e simili sia piuttosto difficile

    Luca yo también hice una lista de 20 idiomas primeros por aprender, pero no me animo a decir las mismas cosas con diferentes palabras, a veces lo veo absurdo y me desanima la idea de perseguir el poliglotismo por esa razón y pienso que todos deberíamos hablar una sóla lengua mundial para volver ser verdaderos hermanos terricolas y desaparezcan las fronteras, no sé por que ni para que existen tantísimos idiomas, es abrumadora la cifra, me gustan los libros y tú biblioteca ... Saludos !

    Hello, Mr. Luca l had dreamed hundreds of books like yours which are l would probably interested in the next couple of years. Because, l feel like to acquire most common languages like French, Espanol, German etc. However, l have a target and my target is improving my English skills en ook verbeteer mijn nederlands waardigheiden allebei thus, I have been learning Dutch for almost a year and l have been also learning English for a couple of years. In a nutshell, all I want to ask is a language learning book with transcriptions i mean the meanings of the text in the language that someone already knows such as first page in Dutch and the second one is in English as you mentioned in the video. So, do you recommend me books like those ? and, do you know where can i get a book which includes Dutch and English in addition, I am using LINQ but, l also want to study with those books. If you have any recommendations especially for Dutch. that's all l want to say thanks for your time to read this comment. Have a new year!
