Never toss old beans before cooking a batch in the pressure cooker. You will be surprised. Cook for one and a half hours. More if needed. I have used 30 year old beans and they were fine.
Being a stay at home mom with four children I started cutting my own hair to save money and still do it...I think my hair looks as good as my daughters who pay a huge amount at a salon. I am 76 now.😊Your hair looks very nice, Tawra!
I love naturally weird I know you are not overly fond of prepping subjects but you do it excellently. I don't care what the subject is I just love watching and listening to you. Especially your Bible questions. Keep doing what you are doing. THANK you so much.
I've been following y'all since the beginning and appreciate you so much. I'm in NE Wisconsin now for a few years. The last few winters have been mild but a few years ago we had about a week of 40 to 50 below were snowed in. My daughter and I made it by curling up together with tons of blankets and such. EVERYTHING froze in the house. Even our water bottles were frozen solid and we had to hold them in our hands or put them under our blankets to melt a bit to drink. We ONLY got up to use the bathroom. We try to eat very healthy as we are both celiac, but was so thankful to have just simple tuna, veggies, fruit and such canned to have. We learned a lot about where we were prepared and where we were lacking. Also... most medications are fine after the expiration and will slowly lose potency but be aware that both erythromycin and aspirin can become toxic and should not be used past the date.
You’re hair looks great! I’ve thought of having my 14 year old boy trim the ends of my hair. It feels ridiculous to pay a full haircut just to trim my ends.
I use a squareish Simply Best lemonade w/ strawberry added juices in a clear plastic carafe to stores minute rice in. I make a funnel W/ paper and lay-on it side… I also add confectioner’s sugar an other things to store in those bottles . I can freeze the bottles in the freezer to kill off pests!! The plastic os think Hague. They look good. Nd they are sturdy in shape…. Ck it out!!
I am a big big fan/friend of your family ❤ I am watching your videos and reading on your website since years. I am living in the north of Germany and you have sent me some of your books maybe 3 years ago. With a little book dedication and I am sooooooo proud of these books. The book "Penny pinching mum" is so good, your "Dining on a dime Vol. 1 in spiral binding is a money saver on its own. Thank you guys from my heart.❤
I have my own stockpile in my garage. I loaded with all the staples like rice, sugar, flour, oats, canned foods. It's still a work in progress. I have a lot more to do, but it's getting there.
Finally had a chance to finish watching. Being prepared is SO important. We (northern Arizona) have wild fires all the time so as soon as I hear about it I gather everything I want/need to evacuate. Thankfully they have missed us so far(very close though). We have food and water for the winter blizzards. We have had, a few times, where the water was undrinkable so always have water just in case. My lovely husband has been on board with a lot more stockpiling/preparedness since the pandemic. We even have a whole house generator that we can ration what we run (dual gas and propane). Life is getting even crazier with this regime. And yes; can tell you lost weight and love the hair. Thanks for all you help everyone with. I usually learn something. 😁
Thank you for putting in all the extra effort to make this informative video. I learned so many things. I have all your cookbooks and love them. For me personally because of having celiacs disease, your gf cookbook is a true life saver for me. Thank you again y'all are such a blessing to me.
Hello, Happy Sunday to All......I watched most of this live but am now going back to concentrate....so much info! I opened an older prepared mix today from my cupboard and HORROR small moving things! Now I am headlong into emptying the food pantry so I can clean it, also going through things and checking (yes I have had to pitch....sadly) I am taking note of mistakes I have made with storing prepared boxed food and now on a mission to re-do things. WAKE UP Call here. Thank You @Living On A Dime To Grow Rich ❤
This was especially helpful for me! I normally have a couple of extra tips from each of your vids, but this time I have a long list of things to buy, do, think about, create etc!! Thanks HEAPS for all of your efforts!🥰 Blessings from South Australia💕🐨
I use cat litter box litter containers too just let them air out for a couple days I even use them for water for like the toilet when the power goes out, store my food in it two
I have been cutting my hair for well over 40 years and i used to perm it too. I dont like perms any more so i dont do that any more. My husband has never been to a barber. His father cut his hair until i came along and i have been cutting it for over 38 years now.
Random non-stocking question about kids: How did your kids find places to rent? Do they have roommates? Because rent is so much money? Or do they just have two full-time jobs
I’ve stocked up on Nido milk and just opened one that is about 9 months past Best Buy date. Still is perfectly fine. I’m sure it won’t last 25 years, but I store mine in a cool dark location and had no problem.
We have a well, so we store water for flushing the toilet if we lose power....which unfortunately due to tropical storms and hurricanes can sometimes last up to a week.
You have probably mentioned this but I wanted to add it anyway. People often confuse hunger with thirst. Before eating more people need to hydrate more. They might find they eat less is they drink more. Just a thought.
Also, if you have any heat source in your house, keep your sink cabinets open. They will receive heat from your room. Also block all outside vents around the base of your house to prevent more cold air hitting exposed pipes.
Put those paper sacks of sugar in gallon size freezer bags. They might end up with bugs if you don’t. I do the same with flour. I don’t trust the paper packaging to be enough.
The fuller your freezer, the longer it lasts and keeps everything frozen as long as you don't open it. We lost power for 4 days and nothing spoiled. We also bought a large freezer We can place in the snow if outage is longer.
@@t.g.7180 No, we did not cover in blankets. Our whole house was so cold, as we lost our heat source as well. Looking into a generator to just keep our frig, freezer and heat going in case this happens again. We had tons of candles lit, gel can fuel in our faux fireplaces, and hothands to stay warm.
I just got the kitchen floor put down and can't wait to use your cookbook in a nice clean kitchen with no cement dust on the appliances anymore! I also organized the stockpile so I'm all set. I will get volume 2 and gluten free one day too!
Thank you for the free ebook cookbooks. I live in Canada and I am not able to order the cookbooks because you are not able to deliver. I was lucky enough to buy the original cookbook on an online thrift website. I am so happy that I was able to have one. I really enjoy your channel.

Thanks for the stockpile tour and tips (and all the extra tips from other commenters). PS. The hair looks fabulous and when you mentioned the hair dresser...it sounds like Brad Mondo. He is a little "eccentric", but gives great hair advice/ how to's.
I cannot believe you got those canning jars for $1.00!! That’s a crazy amazing deal! I was literally just looking online for those jars last night and holy smokes… and are those the vintage collection with color?? Those are $29.00 + !! What a find!! 👍🏻🌷🤗
Really enjoyed live broadcast. Question regarding storing water in bathtub referred to something called Water BOB found on Amazon. It is a plastic shell that fills from the tap and has valve for releasing water as needed.....pretty slick.
This is an Excellent Video, with loads of useful tips & tricks for Food Storage. Thank you muchly for sharing all of this.👍🤗 I put snapped of healthy Fronds off my Aloe Vera plant into the Fridge in Ziplock bags. You want a cup of coffee? Let’s take a sip. I know you’re we’re disappointed in your makeover video not doing well. Maybe because you and your family weren’t in it !!❤️
Tawra, I watched this after work, have a question related to prepping. Thanks to your wealth of advise ,I have a good handle on the process. But am unsure what to do about how to cook without electricity. Whats the best way to do this . I live in a subdivision but do have a private backyard area.

You can grind old beans into flour and use in place of flour in gravies, and for part of the flour in baking.

Very smart! Trims shouldn't cost $25!
Try to find a beauty school. It’s usually really cheap there and ask them to wash your hair and style it! Having my hair washed is heavenly!

You can use the Crisco that went bad for a candle too. Just add 3 wicks to it. Burns for hours. 👍👀🤑
So does olive oil you just need a wire to support the wick.
How do you add a wick to hard oil?
@@t.g.7180 well Crisco isn't that hard at all and just push the wick in with a skinny stick👍or use a knitting needle.

How did your kids find places to rent? Do they have roommates? Because rent is so much money? Or do they just have two full-time jobs
They have full time jobs. One lives with a roommate the other bought an rv and lives in it in a farmers field he rents a space from.

Wow. I threw mine out about a week after. I am learning alot with this video
Since our units went out we have two karosene heaters for emergency .Otherwise we use electric heaters and gas fireplace .
