Yay!!!!! I thought of you after the concert because what a setlist for your first show! Powerful! Historically the second show in each city is even better if you think they can’t top this….they will! So happy for you to join the Jamily after so many years of true fandom. See you at Dead and Co! Not. dead Head so no idea what we are in for but excited.
Yeah until you've been part of, or stood back and just listened to the Do do doo doo doo do do's at a Pearl Jam show, you haven't lived. So freaking AMAZING
Last night was the best Pearl Jam concert I've ever seen.... Fuckin amazing.
awesome. thanks for listening!
Great review as usual. Glad you finally got to see PJ live and it met your big expectations. I’ve been lucky enough to see them live many times and never been disappointed. The live shows just hit so hard. There’s joy, sadness, surprise, unity - it’s so great. The Better Man sing alongs are so cool. I’ll be very sad when they stop touring and won’t be able to experience that anymore.
Thanks for listening 🤘🤘
I was at that show, and I agree 💯 with your review. I've been going to concerts for 40 years now, and like you, have always missed Pearl Jam until now. Definitely a must see show. Actually, it's not just a show, it's an amazing experience.
thanks so much for listening - i appreciate it!
I first heard PJ in 2020 during Covid. I instantly loved the band, and chased down every song I could find. I have seen the 2 times live.
awesome...thanks for listening!! i appreciate it!
I REALLY ENJOYED YOUR COMMENTARY. PEARL JAM ARE MY FAVORITE BAND ON THIS CRAZY PLANET!! THANK YOU JOE IS VEGAS THAT WAS AWESOME!! 😊💓🔥🤘✌️
Thanks for listening I appreciate it
Pearl Jam was on my bucket list also. Just saw them in Vancouver, it was amazing ! So glad I grew up in the 90's.
Amen - thanks for listening
Excellent and accurate review. It's true that there is something special about PJ, in comparison to most other musical acts. We as fans are very lucky to have their music, and more lucky to be able to still see them perform live in 2024 and hopefully beyond.
thanks for listening.. i appreciate it
I was at the Sacramento show and it was pure magic. Ten is my favorite album of all time and they played 6 songs from it. Perfection.
@mmkeno it was a lot of fun for sure
Wow lucky
PJ is truly a live band and their songs sound so much better live than on studio recordings. I saw them in Sacramento and they opened with Pendulum from Lightening Bolt. I’ve always liked the song, but it has never been on my hope to see live list. But, it was a powerful and haunting opener in Sacramento, and set the tone for a high energy gig. PJ live takes the songs to a completely different level.
@stephen1462 I like Pearl Jam Live so much - I 've seen them Live the most of any bands I've ever seen, and I'll be seeing them again in a week, and who knows after that. I'm very thankful they came to Sacramento
Man you described my relationship with Pearl Jam exactly ❤.
I have tickets to see them in Melbourne, my childhood dreM finally fulfilled, and I'm PRAYING nothing goes wrong.
We've been starved of PJ in Australia and I think the crowd will be all nervous and excited as he'll.
It's worth the wait brotha... Thanks for listening 🤘
All concert blessings and mercies to you in Australia for the fall '24.
I'm gettin' my fix currently- yours is comin'
Not a fan of grunge or pearl jam but my friend ranted about this show 🙄 the time is coming to Vegas Saturday 1000x better of a show
Glad you had a great time
Thanks for listening
Glad you finally got to see them
Thanks me too.. They didn't disappoint. Thanks for listening
I’ve seen them every album tour since 95. I’ll be at the LA Kia Forum next week to see both shows.
Awesome.. Enjoy 🤘 thanks for listening
@billisdope it's coming fast! Enjoy. Hope you got great seats / or ga or both!
Was amazing. Excited for tonight's show too
🤘🤘 Me too.. Thanks for listening
I think night 2 is doing very well
Was there too. Hot fn show. With you on Black, i too had goose bumps..Easily the best song of the show. Cant wait for tomorrow
🤘🤘🤘 Thanks for listening
Love you Pearl Jam. Great concert. Played all my songs!!!
awesome.. thanks for listening
Hey, Joe. Great review.
Was there Thursday (And I too had tickets to that Covid cancelled show last year)
Never been a huge PJ fan (I was always Team Nirvana back in the early grunge days) but they are absolutely astounding live and Thu was no exception.
If you're a big Petty fan hopefully they'll do one of his Petty covers tonight that he's done earlier on this tour.
My only real quibble about the Thu show is that they didn't bring up the stage lights or the video screens until about 5 songs into the show- and if you weren't up close you couldn't see squat. But other than that it was a great great show.
Thank you I appreciate it, and I appreciate you listening. I agree about the low lighting I forgot to mention it in the review
I was at the 5/16 show too. Love your review. Don't forget Andrew Watt was there and played on Alive!!
Thanks for listening I appreciate it
My 9th show (first was in 2005) and the best yet. I was in the pit and visible in this video (1970s Pirates batting helmet). Eddie threw me a guitar pick. Magical evening.
awesome. thanks for listening i appreciate it!
Yield is the PJ album came out in a transfer moment in my life, very special album for me. Josh Klinghoffer has re invigorated them, IMO
I agree! Same demographic as you and a hardcore fan, yet I hear their music and lyrics as if it changes meanings throughout the years and decades, great setlist night one!
Got you cherry popped! now get to the next show and it will pop again!
Lol thanks for listening 🤘
@craigtorres6223- Lol, and so true!
Pearl Jam is my wife’s bucket list. We went to the May 16 show. I don’t even like Pearl Jam, but I really enjoyed the concert. They put on a great show. Eddie Vedder’s voice has really held up.
Glad you enjoyed it.. Thanks for listening 🤘
I agree wirh everything you said. Got to see PJ twice - amazing including Austin in ‘23. Huge fan here since ‘90
That’s a great set list! They bring it every night
Pearl Jam holds the torch for all the great grundge bands of the past
Totally thanks for listening
Amen to that.
Yeah it's hard but after my first show, I've only seen them 3 times and all 3 were in the 2ks. You try not to have any songs you're waiting on and just Waiting on the NEXT song. Montreal in the early 2ks and the last 2 Quebec City shows which were both INSANELY GREAT
Night 2 brother night 2
Saw them in Portland
This was louder
Crowd was nuts
Edidie was Eddie
I can't fucking wait
Don’t ever compare another concert to LV 1. Just put it in your pocket and appreciate that you were there. He put together a perfect 🌊set.
it was awesome. i will never forget it. thanks for listening and commenting. i hope you consider subscribing!
they always do Ledbetter with the lights on
Shame.. Wish they didnt
I love PJ I just miss Ed's younger vocals, but time and smoking does damage. I still love it though and I'll always have a deep connection to their music, it got me into guitar playing in the late 90s.
Hes the last of the mainstream. Hope you had a great show..
I did. Thanks for listening
I am 37, they are my fav band. if this new album doesnt meet your old soul, i cannot relate to you.
Love the set list - I wish I can see them. What are the ticket pricing like? I saw them once when I was studying in USA, back in 1996. I did not know much about them back then… I just know 2-3 songs back then and immortality was my fav track back then. Now I am listening to them and just like you appreciate the slow one and not just the heavy ones.
Pricing was all over the place. I was holding off talking about pricing for the review of the second night to make sure I have what to talk about so please tune in to the next review :-)
Pricing on this one was weird. I paid $200 all in for a 5th row aisle in the back center to the right of the mixing booth a day before the show. But stuff jumped to $700 on the back floor for arguably worse seats.
@@JoeInVegasReviews I still have my original ticket from 1996 - just went to see how much I paid… face value 24 USD! but I remember I bought it for 80 USD some mail service back then (during the Ticketmaster boycott era) it was held on 7 October 1996 at Ft.Lauderdale stadium so no seating just mash pitt and rocking!
@@fedaknet damn! Wasn’t PJ all against price gouging? Not sure how the pricing nowadays but I would pay to see them!
@@FPLFantasyArabiaIt's kind of expensive but worth it
That first album was amazing.
Nothing kept up with that album. The second was good to
There are songs that they do Live that are right up there "with" , and may even surpass Ten, massive and beloved that Ten is- Pearl Jam has graced us with A Ride along the way that some kept taking, and they know why. I think I get why.
It's a gold mine with a lot of Gems when they are touring live- they bring a heavy chest of treasure for all . We thank them very much
Love, love, love Pearl Jam and love Stone even more! That said, please don't flame me for what I'm about to ask/say. Here goes ... What the eff is up with the Ten Club sausage fest?!! We were at both shows in Vegas, and the bro dates vibe was so distracting and weird. I've never been in a stranger environment. I can't say anything more to describe it. Please enlighten me 🖤
Haha.. I was with a girl, so not guilty here.. but I Def noticed the bro vibe as well lol
I was there that night; as a casual fan, attending Night 2 was a terrible idea. I was expecting Black, Corduroy, Jeremy, Immortality, Dissident, waiting for Stevie. The songs played on Saturday were not the best for us, the more casual fans...I wished I would've been in Night 1 in Vegas...but it is what it is.
Seeing PJ now is like bragging about sleeping with Cher now or something. It is a vastly different band from the one that recorded all of those songs that you mentioned, which were pretty much all pre-1994 when they had Dave Abbruzzesse on drums and totally rocked. Now they look like a bunch of office nerds and have a track star on drums who races to the finish line on every song.
ill take what i can get lol
Can't do Ledbetter without Mike
Yeah. Literally
Is Vedder losing his hair or something? He wears a hat all the time now.
Lol I actually noticed that one moment he took his hat off and I did think to myself I think he's starting to lose his hair
'He' played... they're a band. This is a review of Eddie Vedder..
You'll never see just Eddie with an acoustic doing Ledbetter. McReadys Hendrixy guitar playing is too big a part of the song.
Good point
Why do you keep referring to the band as “He/Eddie”
Yeah I noticed that LOL I caught myself a couple times I don't know why I did that. There was one line specifically where I said he at the beginning and then they at the end . Probably just because he's such a force. But I did notice that 🤷 thanks for listening
@@JoeInVegasReviews lol no worries. Just pretty remarkable that it’s still 4/5 the same band members. The band sounds great!
Agree @@mikehesq007
It's actually appropriate to refer to the band as Eddie since he took over control with an iron fist after the Vs album. From the songwriting to the whole Ticketmaster thing, and the 'we don't make music videos' thing, and the firing of Dave Abbruzzesse were all Eddie's doing. He was both the reason they became massively successful and the reason that they disappeared into obscurity.
He? They!!
Lol I know I don't know why I kept doing that someone else pointed it out LOL my bad
@@JoeInVegasReviews better man tonight. Hope you enjoyed it
You keep saying Eddie, Pearl Jam is a band, the other members are equal to him..
This is my second tour skipping. I haven't regretted it. I am not paying $400 for Tremor Christ. And I'm not one of these guys that jumped ship at No Code. My son's name is Stone. Probably started when the fan club trampled me at Wrigley.
They played more than one song
But Tremor Christ is awesome and one of their best.
I jumped ship at No Code and looking back, I see I didn't miss anything.
@@calixohiggins9843 no code is one of the greatest albums ever made. Red mosquito is my favorite song. I want it played at my funeral. That's why I'm so disappointed now. I can't be the only one.
@@samcorcoran470 No Code had a vibe, but hardly even PJ's greatest album, let alone in general. Some really cool tunes like Hail Hail, In My Tree, Smile, Red Mosquito, Present Tense. But everything else literally was filler and the song that Stone sang was pretty awful if you're being honest with yourself. But hey, people have nostalgic connections to music irrespective of its compositional value, and that nostalgia can cloud one's judgement and prevent even the mildest scrutiny.
.except that Blind melon aint grunge
