I think an interesting comparison to do would be to also test the 40kw version of this car, which weighs a couple of hundred kilos less than the 60kw version.
Same driver, same roads, same car except less weight.
It would be interesting to see by how much, less weight affects consumption.
Enjoy watching your channel, which is straightforward, informative and to the point.

Thanks Francis! I've already registered my interest in testing the 40 kW-Version.

Hi ecodriver, really like your testing - the results I use to figuring out my next company car. RAV4 and Kuga AWD are the strongest candidates now. BUT, Mazda CX-60 seem really nice one, just can’t find any consumption figures with empty battery (don’t have charging at home). Would you be able to get your hands on one? Really would be interesting to see the results. It has 2.5 l non-turbo engine, which makes me wish the system is similar to RAV4 and consumption as well. That would mean it’d my next company car for sure. Keep up your good work 👍

hi, I really need a good advise please, I ordered this car in equilibre version and I just found out it doesn't have the route planner or any apps, just car play. Only the more expensive versions Techno and Iconic have apps..
So I can't see chargers, stops, destination percentage... nothing.
It's a deal breaker even with 60kwh battery it's not worth it.
    What do you think ?

If this was an estate car. It would be a winner.

I would have settled for 10.000 euros cheaper.

I hope you manage to drive an aptera one day... Would love to know if 100wh/mile is possible

Thank you. These tests are a very valuable independent benchmark for vehicle efficiency.
Regarding hiding the license plates, and faces, and signposts. Is this something legally required in your country? (I notice many other channels don't do this with their material).
If you have to do it, I am sure you have thought through the best options for how to do so efficiently. I would guess that you are using a pixelate filter rather than a blur filter because the latter it is too processor/time intensive? I noitce that when you started this process (Ford Kuga test) you tried blur initially.
If the processing load is the problem, perhaps you could try reducing the resolution of the driving sections to 480p or 360p (or even 240p) and then try running a very simple blur filter on the lower section? You could also try a simple luminance filter that "over-blows" the whites (perhaps restricted to the lower section), to make the license plates and signs effectively unreadable. A light application of these two filter types in combination might give you an acceptable processor load, but be more visually pleasing for your audience.
One other thing to try would be to quickly render a 144p version of the driving sequence and then splice that over the lower portion of the frame. It should hide all important details, yet look a bit more attractive than the pixel filter. Depending on your software, this splicing could be faster than actually applying a blur filter to an entire higher resolution video. You may even find that e.g. a 240p version with a simple filter to deliberately blow-out highlights, re-spliced, might be time/visual-result optimal.
If you have already tried everything of this kind, please accept my apologies. I believe your channel deserves to grow, so just wanting to try to help.
BTW, I'm a journalist at cleantechnica, so I may be able to work a link to your channel into a future article.

The austrian version of GDPR specifically doesn't allow to publish dash-cam footage (which this is) if faces and number-plates can be recognized, same in Switzerland, hence Björn Nyland didn't shoot dash-videos there.
I have to find a compromise between following these rules and doing it time-efficiently. It's not perfect, but - unfortunately - I have to do this to avoid legal problems.

@@ecodriver1746 Thanks for the information. If you eventually adopt a more aesthetic method to blur the video let me know. I will then be happy to send my readers towards your videos.
