Welcome to Episode 3 in our Road to Morar series, where we take you through our design process for what will become the second edition Morar dive watch.
Episode 3 will discuss what we've learned over the past 7 years in the way our watches are designed. We'll talk about the Morar First Edition, our expectations for it when launched and what it means for the Morar Second Edition.
Follow along as we discuss our process, what we do to research, develop and design a watch like this. Each episode will be either live-streamed with audience interaction, or a premiere of a pre-recorded film.

I'm a qualified deep diver and scuba instructor. These are the things that I know about diving that I would need from a dive watch. Not all the water you dive in is crystal clear. In fact, there is no water in the UK that is crystal clear. It’s also very dark in most waters with the exception of warm weather countries. A lake/loch like the Morar will be very dark as you get below 20 meter and visibility due to algae and silt can also be an issue. With, this in mind, the watch/numbers must be bright so that when you shine your torch on it, it is immediately visible what you are looking at. Having a matching bezel colour will also assist with rapid recognition of your dive time. The watch hands must be bright well distinguished from the watch face and long enough so that, once again, rapid determination of the dive time can be made. The hands should be sufficient luminous material. The best are the ones that I have every come across as the on the Luminox Navy Seal watches. Once illuminated they hold their luminescence for a very long period of time. Stainless steel straps are nice to have if diving in sea water but are expensive and therefore rubber is better and more hard wearing. But, I have had a rubber strap break on me due to excessive exposure to sea water and strong sunlight. And this is even with rinsing in fresh water upon returning to the surface. I hope this has been useful.
Very good feedback, thank you Andrew. :)
Fantastic to hear your thoughts and explanations
Glad you enjoyed it
Completely ballsy honest presentation. The colorways discussion is interesting. I still feel like everybody says they want something other than a Submariner or 50 Fathoms clone. Then they go out and buy clones.
Thanks for watching! Well, we have some work to do then, don't we!
Loving the candor and look behind curtains that are normally closed….here for it.
We're here for you
Wow, you guys are so hard on yourselves! ;) You're making great watches that avoid the copy/paste homage styles seen a dime a plenty in other dive watches. Can't wait to see what's next.
Much appreciated!
Really enjoyed watching this. Fantastic seeing the journey progress.
Brilliant! Glad to have you following along :)
It’s a joy to hear you “ waffle on”.
Thanks Raymond!
Superb insights and very authentic - daytimer looks fab!
Please keep Morag on the case back 🙏
You are so correct when you say that it wasn't until you get one of the Morars in your hand that you really appreciate them, I bought one of the last Deep Blues for no real reason other than it was one of the last ones. I now have all 5 and they are probably my most worn watches out of my collection, because they feel so robust
Brilliant! Lovely to hear your experience. Hopefully this series will allow folk to get a really good grasp of the new design, when it arrives.
Interesting insight into the process that goes on.
I have 2 Marloe watches with a third preorder.
Interestingly enough it was the Morar from a watch review that caused me to check out your website, subsequently I purchased a Haskell then a sceptre, love both.
Morar’s square hands and shell hour markers just wasn’t for me.
Great to have you on board! Lots to think about

Too many buttons were pushed in the end
