TIME WELL SPENT
Our mechanical watches are testament to that. We don’t rush them. They’re the product of doing things as expertly as possible, not as fast as possible.
It takes inspiration, craftsmanship and patience to make a beautiful mechanical watch. We put those same qualities into everything we do, from meticulous design research to lifetime customer service. When you first unbox your Marloe watch and feel its heart ticking in your hand, we think you’ll agree that it’s well worth waiting for.
We know the value of time. We know how fast it can speed by, and how easy it can be to fritter away. In an age where everything is instant and disposable, we want to create something enduring: a Marloe watch isn’t just about keeping time, it’s about spending it well.
We hope that wherever your Marloe watch takes you, and whatever adventures you share, it’s Time Well Spent.

very nice 👍
Oooh 👀
I love my Astro Valentina. My first Marloe watch, and certainly won't be my last. The quality, attention to detail, packaging and customer service is second to none. Well done Marloe in producing a unique "space watch". I haven't taken mine off since receiving it.
Delighted to hear it! Thanks for your support :)
Hurry up & make more scepters -.-
Hurrying...
I just fell in love with the Coniston ~ Legendary I'll buy one to remember how much i learned from this video
Needing help with two things. How to choose a single worded name for a microbrand. And also, what design programs do you use for process?
What design programs do you guys use for your business? Thanks.
Hi Gordon, it’s a beautiful design! Those are some very small internal fillets on the lugs - I’m wondering if they’re going to be difficult from a tooling perspective? Have you had any changes so far from the technical proposal for improving DFM?
Hi Jamie - thanks for watching and the feedback. So far we seem to be ok re: tooling. Maybe what to do is sign up for The Outpost where I talk more in depth about the challenges of projects like the Morar 310 on a week to week basis. I'll be updating everyone in the next part of the series but until then The Outpost is the place to be. We've had quite a few changes, but nothing that sways the overall direction or aesthetics of the project.
This is the most awesome thing I have watched and what I have been searching for, three years now! If only I can get to meet you in person. You said something VERY close to home about my own project than you’d ever know and that forms the ethos of what I am currently DESPERATELY trying to do. Would love to meet you
I wonder what they used to time the event! ;)
great presentation really, this insight in the development process is quite fascinating, congratulations for the result and all the best for the start of manufacturing 👏
Brilliant! Thanks for your kind words and glad you enjoyed it!
All the watches look fabulous but I do like the Goldking. Cannot wait to see the final production versions.
Thanks David!
Hi Gordon and Oliver, I am already in love with the new Morar, can't wait for the official launch! Can't decide which color I like best but the yellow and the glitch would definitely score high.
Good choice!
I hated the original Morar design, but love this one 😅will "black" have a matt or glossy finish? pitch black or dark-grey-sortof? What about white?
Just goes to show, there's always someone out there that'll like what you do! Black will be glossy. Pitch black. White dial would be matte, with brushed steel bezel.
I have the first version of the morar (the emerald one), and aside of a few things, I love the design. But this new version I don't get. It's bulky, clutered, shiny... The previous version needed a slight upgrade, not this much of a change.
Perhaps from a design perspective a few tweaks might have made an upgrade for those already on board the Morar train, but from a commercial perspective the market did not accept the First Edition Morar and it took a LOT of persuasion and heavy discounting to move the Morar on - the analysis of why this was the case, and we did a huge amount of analysis, was that the Morar was just too far outside of the expectations of what a dive watch is, in the modern dive watch landscape. A slight upgrade of the original, in our opinion, wouldn't have changed the lack of uptake in the Morar - those who did buy one seemed to enjoy it and immediately understood what it was we were trying to achieve with the design direction, but it took a long time (years) for people to buy into what the original Morar was and has become. Not sure we want to go through that process again. Time will tell if this new iteration is of more interest to those currently outside of the Marloe/Morar sphere - it's sometimes good to switch it up. Either way we will learn something. Thanks for your message!
There always seems to be one of the models that sells out quickly, I have a Haskell sand and a sceptre commander, my prediction is the steel will be the one to go first and the air models will be most popular. Will wait to see what “special in house” versions come along
There is always a favourite - knowing which one that is before we make them is the challenge! Thanks for your message
Great video, really interesting and really like the designs!
Thank you!
Looks like a fantastic addition to the catalogue. Have you considered taking the design into the straps aswell? It would be very cool to have "Marloe" or the logo embossed/debossed on the rubber straps. Just a thought.
Yeah we've thought about it a lot - tooling is a big part of our decision process when it comes to straps - we might explore the costs for the Morar 310 custom straps.
Sorry me again Gordon. As you know bezel misalignment is a common bugbear and although I’m liking the through-bezel insert lume pip of the Morar, it may prevent alignment fine tuning when affixed to the bezel, the accommodating hole also weakens to bezel insert and might increase fractures. Also the alignment of the click notches with the lume pip must be a fine tolerance to again prevent bezel misalignment; I’m sure you’ve got a handle on this but I had to mention. PS I love the lugs ( reminiscent of Panerai) and countdown bezel (reminiscent of the Tudor FXD) is also unusual, visually interesting and useful. Regards
Perhaps the pip is attached to the bezel then, which would prevent such alignment issues. Good point, thank you!
Great video showing process. Very nice watch. Wish you had a little shop in Fife!
Woah! The glitch is the best one! But have to say, love them all. Love it!!! Some of the renders of the casing appeared to have a Matt finish to the casing. I think that would be a great inclusion for a dive watch. Great work Gordon and Oliver!
Thank you! Will think more on the matt :)
I also love the “Glitch”. Glad the orange and yellow are to be prominately available. Marloe missed the Purple fashion and only caught the back end of the “ bandwagon blue” teal trend. The “Glitch” might meet the coming “grey/green” trend but it would have been nice to also see a brown bezel, next hot colour, but that might be something we see in a “kit” (?)
Love the watch...keep up the incredible work!!!
Very kind, thank you!
Very cool video and fantastic to see the lifecycle of design to product delivery, that’s for sharing. As a supporter of British brands and a Marloe watch owner (night GMT) I think this is class leading to have this type of approach, well done.
We'll see! Thanks for watching
i liked the older design better.
Great!
Fan flipping tastic. Much more up market, and less polarising than its predecessor. Modern and unique, to the extent it makes the high end Swiss opposition, look very staid. All of the colours look good to me. Would respectively suggest a “ Tudor “ blue, as a follow up edition, just to rub it in their faces. You have smashed it. Price this right, and it will sell in numbers that will astound you. CW will be quaking.
We hope this to be true! Will feed in the request and see what it means - thanks for watching
It looks like I will be buying my 3rd Morar. Love it! I will miss the 40mm case though.
It does wear smaller than the original, thanks to the new lug design - the Original Morar has a longer lug-to-lug!
I just saw the comparison in the video between the 3D print and the original and It does wear a lot smaller! My kitten wrists are excited 😂. Any chance we will see the new Morar in its final form by the end of the year?
Hi Gordon, great video and a great design. Just a couple of comments 1) I don’t think “ Severn” (I assume refers to the river) is a appropriate name as the model is “Morar” which already refers to the Loch. 2) I’m concerned the He valve’s position, between the lugs, might cause it to foul on a thick strap; stopping the valve opening or indeed closing. 3) Don’t use Black & White but perhaps Dark and Light; would be less problematic. And May I say I’m So very glad you’ve stuck to a No Date calibre. Kirk
Thanks for the feedback Kirk. The lugs are low enough that any interaction with the HEV will be difficult - it's also flush fit and on the outside of the curvature so I don't feel any prevention of the actuation will occur - will double check with thicker straps in Fusion. Severn points to a class of lifeboat, rather than the body of water. Thanks for watching!
@@MarloeWatchCo thanks for the prompt reply. I’ve rewatched the vid and the markings on the crown guards baffled me. I originally saw the O and C to be a closed circle and a open “ broken” circle; which seemed to be the wrong way for opening/closing the crown. Then I realised the symbols were letters namely O for Open and C for Closed. Perhaps internationally recognised symbols for open/closed would be better in an international market. As for the He valve, when it operates (opens) it is no longer flush ( fractionally) possibly allowing fibres ( say from a old perlon strap) to be trapped; but I’m sure you’ll check. Regards.
@@MarloeWatchCo Thanks Gordon. I’ve been Rewatching the vid an unhealthy number of times and a couple of observations about the dial design have come to mind. I’m sure you sweat the small stuff but if you haven’t I feel it would be amiss not to mention and could save money and time. First I’m concerned that the hour hand won’t clear the ‘310’ bubble, and secondly I feel the MARLOE logo is too close to the pinion ( perhaps by half the height of the logo; especially for the black & white variants which I believe the logo should align horizontally with the 10 and 2 pips). Ignore me if you’re happy with both especially as I really hate design by committee. I think it brave that you detail your design but perhaps a “customer design review” is the payoff. Regards K PS the Severn lifeboat itself is names after the river ( but you probably knew that)
Very Blancpain * Swatch
We liaised...
Very fun watch - thanks for sharing! The M310 designs look cool - bit of a traditionalist but love the black however the grey (destroyer) stood out very nicely too! I will miss the lollipop seconds hand of the OG Morar however!
Fun is key to a happy life! Thanks for watching
The White Sands of Morar is a special place 🙏 Nice watches 🔥
It really is - thanks for watching
Brilliant video! Thank you for sharing. It's good to see what goes into the watches.
You are welcome!
I could be buying more than a pair....
An only watch is a lonely watch...
Love SoD! It is like being at work 😂
Love SoD! Like being at work! 🤣
Fantastic Gordon. Love it 👍🏻
Thanks for watching!
Evening all. 😉
Ha ha made it from Snowdon Yrwiddfa , let’s go
Wow, I stumbled across this, and I am really impressed with the amount of work you have put into this project. As a retired MEDEVAC and CSAR pilot from the US military, I appreciate your passion for this subject. Thanks again!
Thank you! New part launching this Thursday - stay tuned!
Beautiful watches! I’m a long haul pilot, and I currently wear a Rolex 16710 and the new Lorier Hyperion with the Miyota 9075 movement. It’s fantastic! I also have several homages with the Seiko NH34 caller movement. Thanks
Very nice!
The watch looks great, very well done. Thanks for the GMT dial setting explaination. Would love to see this at 40mm with 100 meters water resistance and the date window at 6pm for symmetry. That would be perfection!
Brilliant overview of me favorite type of timepiece! I learned a lot, cheers mate
Hi, does the '10' on the inlay card signify this is the tenth watch you have produced? I'm new to Marloe, have just acquired a used but mint Coniston Vulcan and I'm currently working my way through your video collection, I'll be visiting the customer shop soon!
Love this, so cool.
Absolutely love this content! Who is your manufacturing partner?
the night on a black rubber band is killer
i just orderd a cWard 3days before I found Marloe. but the Night GMT will be next watch. awesome price! i love how the gmt hand is the same color as the dial, except the tip.... looks great and nobody els does it. A win 100%
I can't wait for my 52. May I please know the song name it was this music made for this video?
I wished the hour marks were larger.
Guys, this was seriously inspiring. I loved that you showed us the intimate process, including sketches and CAD shots. I feel as though I'm on the road to designing something special myself. Do you have any manufacturing advice for someone wanting to start a microbrand, please? Where would you start in looking for a factory to work with?
I really don’t need a GMT, but it’s so pretty and clever and cool.
Hello from America here! This company’s branding is unmatched! Keep up the great work. Proud owner of a a Cherwell first edition!
