After having some difficulties in the snow today with the Outback’s stock tires, I came home and started researching alternatives. This was a fantastic review. I’m sold.
Glad I could help. I love these. Haven’t put them in the snow this winter yet, but hopefully soon. I miss the traveling.😒
They’re great in snow. I had a set on a Gen1 Ridgeline.
Just want to thank you! I followed your recommendation and absolutely loving these Falken tires. No increase road noise noted. A complete stranger gave a compliment within hours of installation today.
I have these tires on my XV Crosstrek and they are absolutely great.
I have a 2013 XV Crosstrek and in need of new tires. Came across these because I was looking for something a little more rugged yet good on the highway.
@@abefroman70 definitely the way to go. Just be warned of a small mpg drop
I would like to see how the crosstrek looks with those tires
@@gilchevy it'll be a while but I can do a video here on you tube for that. Again it'll be a while because I'm in another part of the world compared to where my crosstrek is.
Just got these installed on my '21 Forester Sport. Absolutely love the look and the first few drives with them were great. I went with the 225x60r18, so same width but 1" taller. Can't wait to get them off road.
Nice! I’m still loving them. Actually about to do an update vid.
I think mine are about an 1/2” wider while yours are about an 1/2” taller. So you have an even smaller gap in the wheel well right? And your Speedo is a little more off than mine. I can’t imagine we would be able to tell the difference though.😂. Let me know how the off-roading goes. Don’t forget to air down, it will make a big difference.👍🏾
@@Lucrativesoldier Yup, that's why I went with a little taller tire. I gained about 1/2" ground clearance so when I air down I don't go too far below the 8.7" clearance that the Foresters have. As for wheel well space I really don't see a difference. I know there's less room but it's minimal. My other offroad toy is a '06 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. That's for rock crawling.
@@adamk2778 I would say add a lift to get a little more clearance, but you have the Jeep for that.😂👍🏾
Do you rub with 225 60 18
@@adamk2778 can you upload a pic of the 60 profile in your forester? Im considering doing the same...
I put these exact tires on my 2015 Subaru Forester with some Liquid Metal rims and it looks like a whole new car! In the rain they perform exceptionally well like I go through a puddle like butter when before it would only slow me down and try to pull to the left or right! No more! I can't wait to see how it performs in snow!
Nice! They perform well in the snow also, so you won’t be disappointed.
I’m about ready to replace mine, but hoping I can decide on some new wheels before I do. So we will see.✌🏾
I will be ordering a 2023 Forester Touring as soon as production begins and I plan to immediately upgrade to A/T tires. I've had the Falken AT3W on my previous truck and I loved those, so the A/T Trail was the natural choice for my upcoming Forester. They have excellent reviews across the board, but it's nice to see a first hand account of how they work on the specific vehicle I'll be putting them on. I was also curious about upsizing to 235s and you answered that question too. Thanks!
Thanks! Nice! Yeah I’m still loving the tires, and need to do an update video, but just haven’t had the time. But I’m working on it, so hope you are subscribed.😁✌🏾
My wife's '17 Outback can't get out of the driveway this morning😡 So here I am researching tires. Well done review, thanks for the info!
Sorry to hear that. But glad I could help👍🏾. Thanks✌🏾
Much better traction and appearance than the all-seasons. We’ll put these (stock size) on the Crosstrek. Thank you, sir.
Thanks! I hope you enjoy them.
Just picked these because of you and all I can say is THANK YOU!!!! I love these tires and give the look I was wanting AND that same day we got 8inches of snow and it handled AMAZING never slipped or disappointed if your looking for tires spend the 1k for these you won’t regret it. Also idk how true it is but the tire place told me if I went any bigger then then stock I would mess the bearings up so please let me know if anyone else had heard this
Thank you!👍🏾. Glad you’re loving them too. I’m almost due to have mine replaced. Only change I’m considering, is going with a smaller rim bigger tire. And I haven’t heard any bearing issues, nor have I had any.
@@Lucrativesoldier good to know (about bigger tires) and keep the grind up man iv been enjoying your videos
@@CTMMONEY19 thanks! I’ve been lagging on posting new content, but I’m going to get some up soon.👍🏾
@@Lucrativesoldier hey man we all have lives lol
@@CTMMONEY19 😂right! Thanks!
Thanks for the post! I also went to MTs RUclips and got the scoop on finding the best price on the Falken Wildpeak A/T Trail 225/60R17. Thanks for the suggestions. I saved ~$76 today! Thank you!
You're welcome! Yeah MT was a great help. Its always good to save some $$$ lol. Glad we could help out!
Ive been using these in the snow and mud all season now and you are right to praise these tires. They are not as good as snow tires in the snow but are better than most all seasons and I never felt out of control in any conditions even while sliding or drifting in deeper snow. In soft dirt and mud after the snow melts i get plenty of traction as well. This is on an eclipse cross awd lol. Next winter I will use winter tires on different rims and get more mileage out of these Falkens in warmer months. and not going to use them for another winter after they have many miles on them but thats my preference it snows tons here
Thanks for that feedback. Just barely seeing it. Right, I’m noticing that people who live in places with snowy seasons, have a dedicated set of snow tires. On my next video update, I will point out that these are good for visits to the snow, but not a true snow tire. Thanks again!✌🏾
What a high quality and thoughtful video. 10/10
Sleeping bag operator thanks, I appreciate it!✌🏾
I’ve been considering these for our 19 Outback. I’m convinced now these are the tires to get for the Subaru. Looks like a nice drive with beautiful scenery. Very nice Subaru!
Thanks! Yeah you’ll love them. Not only does the performance improve, so does the look.😍. Enjoy!
Just love your videos and being a Sport owner myself and I am somewhat of obsessive with keeping my car clean I especially liked your Sport is so clean even with snow on the ground. A true enthusiast and someone who takes pride in their ride. Keep up the good work, love watching the add ons and upgrades. ✌️ I just upgraded to the Ironman ATS suspension and just loving it, I bet you would to.
Thanks!👍🏾. Yeah I love my sport. Gotta take good care of it and keep it clean.😁Glad you mentioned the suspension upgrade. That’s what I want to do next. Ironman is one of my considerations. Flatout suspension is my other. It’s nearly twice as much as the Ironman kit, but suppose to have ridiculous off-road handling capabilities. Probably won’t use it to its full potential. Lol. So what kind of improvements have you noticed with the Ironman kit?
Thanks for the shout out to my channel!
The tires look great! Nice rims too.
For me, coming from the Ecopia tires, handling is way way better with the wildpeaks, those Ecopias were super spongy.
MT no worries. Always happy to help others out. My way of showing my appreciation for your help with saving $200 on my tires.
I’m loving the Wildpeaks. The oems ZIEX I replaced with them, were excellent. But I’m loving the more rugged look of the wildpeaks.
Raised their prices on the tire!!!
Figures, it was a deal while it lasted, looks like several places raised prices.
@@MTsubfly
Bummer. I havent put them on yet. Ugh
I hear you. There are a lot of other great tires for the money as long as you're OK going with a all season tire. These all terrain falkens Have great looks That many all season tires do not offer though they are great tires check out the Toyo Celsius tires and the line of Nokian tires to, I might do a update video soon if I can get to it
Bro those tires look awesome. It makes the car look bad ass. I think I’m gonna get some for my forester
Subie Snail thanks, I love them. They make a big difference. And for the price, you can’t beat them. I’m not lifted...yet😁 but these give it a nice look until then. Let me know if you end up getting some.👍🏾✌🏾
Thx for the tip. I’ll definitely use 235/55/18 on my forester. However I lifted my forester with eibach lift kit spring 1.5”.
Thanks! I will be upgrading the suspension soon also, and may try going up a size on the tires. But I will post a vid when I do.👍🏾
I have a 2015 Forester Limited on a 2" lift running a set of Falken Wild Peak tires sized 235/75R15 on LP1 wheels. They give an awesome performance on and off road, I'd buy them again.
Nice vid brother! Exactly the review I was after, glad you did both snow and off road trail. Beast of a Subie too! 🤙🏾 Thanks for sharing
Hi Terry, haven't seen any new videos on your channel lately. I know the whole virus thing and the lockdown brought many things to a standstill. Just hope you and the family are doing well and I am looking forward to more Forester videos when things normalize a bit.
Take care!
Sirgromulus thanks for reaching out. Hope you and yours are well too. We are doing good. Just staying busy. I’ve been meaning to do some vids, but honestly, the Sube has been getting some long needed rest.😂. She hasn’t sat this long since I drove her off the lot.😂. I’ll be doing a small mod vid soon. Just been waiting for it to be time for oil change, etc. probably just do it early.😁
Thanks again! Take care✌🏾
Thanks for sharing, i just got my 23 subaru forester sport and im on the hunt of at tires. U definitely sold me here. 🤙
Thanks! You can’t go wrong with these tires. Excellent performance and price.👍🏾
Many thanks for producing this video, for your wisdom, and for confirming my purchase of Sub and Falkens.
Thank you! Im glad I could help, and I appreciate you taking the time out to watch and comment. Enjoy!
Tires look nice. Another factor that may affect mpg from computer is the slight speedometer error due to changing diameter. It's pretty minor though. I calculate < 1/2" change in diameter.
80srockerable thanks! I figured the slight difference in the speedo, but not the mpg for that reason. Since there were multiple vehicles on this trip, I was able to figure at 80 mph on the speedo, I was doing 81-82 mph. So not too bad. Thanks
most tires do great when new...it's after 10k miles that a tire really shows its worth as well as at half tread. both my Nokian wrg4 and conti dws06 are below half tread (about 43k mi each, and both do good in the wet and less good in the snow but manageable. however, road noise has increased on both and I get wawawawa sounds at low speeds....bearings are still tight, no play.
I did an update video. Hope you check it out.👍🏾
I liked the thoroughness of this video so much, I subscribed to your channel. Thanks for the review, this is exactly the information I need.
AWDfreak thanks, I appreciate the comment, and subscribe. I try to keep track of everything to help others stay informed and know what to expect. I’ve been getting a lot of mixed questions and info about the CVT, so I’ve decided that will be my next vid in the next few days. Thanks✌🏾
Got these tires on my 2018 Rav4 XLE best tire ever.
Steven V thanks for the comment. I love them!
Good all condition shakedown on these. My choice has been made. Cheers brother
Thanks! Hope you enjoy them as much as I do.✌🏾
man you've convinced me to put these ATs on my 2015 Subbie.
Glad to hear. You'll love them!
I love these tires!!! Installed them on my Outlander and Tacoma
Sorry, somehow missed your comment. I agree, I wouldn’t change them if given the opportunity. Great value.
After watch your video I order a set for my subie 2021 so excited 😁
Nice! Come back and give your opinion after putting some miles on them.👍🏾

Thanks man! This was a super helpful review. About to buy a 2020 Forester and was looking for a good tire/wheel package. This sold me on the Falken Wildpeak A/T Trail. Going with Sparco Terra wheels :)
Emily Weidner nice! Glad I could be of help. I just did the 2” lift, so I’ll be looking for new wheels too. Will go with same tires, just different size. Enjoy!
Very Thorough review! I have the Wildpeak AT3 in 245/65/17 and have been pretty happy with them. I might consider these when it comes time to replace.
bruceyyyyy thanks! Yeah I’m very happy with them. And for about half the price of the K02’s, you can’t go wrong.
@bruceyyyyy
you're an expert in subaru stuff
I wanted to ask you; How do these compare against some Nokian Wr g4 in the snow for an outback?
good option for someone who cant swap tires twice a year and lives somewhere like Colorado?(Not in the mountain area ofc)
@@NemoTheGlover I honestly don't know. I've never ran those tires.
I know dedicated snow tires are better in snow and no one really claims otherwise.
But all the all season, all weather, all terrain stuff really muddies the water.
bruceyyyyy just wondering if you ran the 245/65/r17 on a Subaru Forester and what year? I’m trying to see if they fit for my 2020 Subaru Forester with a 2” lift
@@Dageruins I have a 2017 Outback. It can run 245/65/17 stock but I also have a 2" lift.
Thank you for the great video. You helped me with my tire decision.
Glad I could help. I will be doing an update video soon. Enjoy!
Can't wait to get a set of these for my 2015 Outback this Fall!
Great review!
Front wheel drive F150? 🤷🏼♂️. I’ll be getting these when I replace my 2020 OEM set. Thank you for this review!
SubieN8 lol right!
Nice, you’ll love them.
Thanks for the sub and comment!✌🏾
I've been looking at these tires for a while, and I'm glad to finally see a fellow subie sport owner posting a video about them! You're actually the reason I got my forester sport, and will probably be the reason I get these tires Haha. I'd probably stick with the stock size though since 90% of my driving is city driving.
Jess thanks, that’s nice to hear! Hope you are enjoying yours as much as I’m still enjoying mine.
I’m probably in the same category as you, 90% city/highway driving. To be honest I don’t think the size difference makes much difference. I know I try to adjust my driving habits to match my mpg expectations. Lol. Either way, you’ll love these tires.👍🏾✌🏾
This is nothing but eye opening for me. I thought putting all-terran tire ruins fuel economy and all over performance of the car, since it adds up huge amount of weight due to most of them need bigger/heavier wheels then stock one, and I bet that ruin the air flow too.But hey, you proof me wrong. Thanks for great review!!
Thanks! Yeah these are very close to stock so no big hit on the mpg or the vehicle. I love them!
Great video, really enjoyed it and the Falkens really are a nice look on your Forester. I am considering a 2020 Forester and was wondering what options were available for A/T tires, as I love to get back on unpaved mountain roads/forest roads/blm roads. I really thought on your highway shots that road noise might be an issue, as that is a hefty tire, but it certainly did not sound like it. I am curious as to the mpg penalty, if any, going with what I am assuming is a heavier A/T tire vs. the stock Falkens. Thanks again and great work--your Forester looks great!!
Jmaninaz1 thanks! There are a few A/T options. The other popular option are the BFG K02’s. They come at a higher cost, and that was my deciding factor. The wildpeak is an overall great tire. No obvious increase in road noise. As for MPG, that’s hard, because I don’t stick to a driving habit, so many factors come into play with my MPG. There probably is a slight drop, but I’m thinking, not that much. Hopefully others can chime in with their experience with the tires. Thanks
The KO2’s are a truck built all terrain causing a significant decrease in mileage, power, wear out your suspension a lot quicker with the weight and as well be significantly louder as they start to wear. You definitely went the right route and saved a good amount of money with the Falken AT Trail.
Love the sport but without the tuebo stickin with mine for longer time. Saludos
Nice man they look sick love how aggressive the tread looks! We needed that recovery on film for the team man. I got the Geolandars on mine @2019forestersport subie wave ;) ✌️
YourQuestMyQuest Thanks! Yeah I’m loving them. How you like the Geolanders?
You know as soon as we drove off from helping the guy out, I thought about how I screwed up not getting it on bid.😩😂. Hopefully I don’t forget next time. Lol
Subie wave✌🏾
From what I've seen in Forester forums most people seem to think the 17" wheels are better for off roading than the 18". The Wilderness trim also comes with 17" wheels unlike the other higher end trims. I wonder why that is though? Is it just because having deeper sidewalls gives you better grip?
Saludoa from Chile, i am looking to change my tires of my forester xt 2015 [changed the awefull duelers hl400] .wish by the time to change to de 225 55 18 of geolandar g015 very nice review but bought bc of stock michelin laritude cross 235 55 18.
Now i am betwen falken or the g015. Both have great looks and 235 eildpeaks have the edge in wide.
The o ly problem i see with 235 [i had that problem is that u cant put on snow chain in case uts really need it. Bc there is ko much space between the wildpeak and the structure.
Saludos from chile!
Thank you! I love getting interaction from all around the world.
The Wildpeaks are my go to tires. I love them, and just bought a new set. I sized up a little, and to be honest, I didn’t think about snow chain clearance. At the same time, I’ve taken my Subie in lots of snowy conditions and never needed chains. I also don’t live in a snowy area, where I must deal with the snow. When I’m in snow it’s either for fun and or vacation.
Let me know what you decide.✌🏾
I think I’m gonna get the 235/50r18 for my Mercedes E550 coupe LoL. Either that or I need to buy a work truck for when I work on the road. I have adjustable coilovers so can raise the car if needed. But you made a good point about having enough room in the wheel well
Lol well they will definitely help. Not sure how they would look on your E550 Coupe though. Lol. Might be a new trend.😁
Thanks!

Oh wow!!
How did you get him out of that snow?
Is this after the hitch?
Did you use straps to pull him out?
i'm genuinely curious how you pulled it off.
=]
I did have the hitch installed, but I used my front anchor point and rescue strap. If you go into your spare tire compartment, you’ll find a long bolt with a loop at the end. That is your rescue bolt that screws into the frame in one of two locations. One in the front, and one in the rear. I actually might do a quick vid on that today, so people know about it.👍🏾
I am looking for the same set. Just what I needed.
Love the review, I have a silver Forester Sport. Researching tires when the stock ones are ready for replacement. Thank you for showing the possible rub issue. I was considering sizing up. Love the look of black but MAN does it show dents and dings/scratch, I’ve had a few black vehicles. So opted for Silver also I’m in Phoenix and it’s too hot for black.
Sorry, I somehow missed your comment. Yeah thankfully they don’t rub at all, so I’m glad I didn’t try to squeeze the next size up on. But now I have the lift, so now I’m thinking about rim and tire options. Lol. Definitely be going with the same tires, just bigger size.
Yeah the black looks great for a day or 2 after a wash, then everything shows.😂
Hi Terry, I have a Subaru Forester Sport 2019 White and I'm looking for tires and came across your video. Btw. I love the tires and I'm planning to go with these, but do you recommend lifting the car since when the space when turning the wheel is pretty close. Please let me know your thoughts.
1sylex nice! No need for a lift. I never had any rubbing. I did recently lift mine though, but not because of the tires. I just wanted more clearance to do more trails.
@@Lucrativesoldier Thank you Terry.. Looking forward to my new tires...
Thanks for this tire review Terry! I will keep these in mind when I replace the OEM tires on my 2019 Sport. I know there are not many choices in an A/T tire for our Subies with the 225/5-18 size but I was wondering if you considered the Yokohama Geolander A/T G015 all-terrain tire? They seem to be popular with Subaru owners and get great reviews.... but I do believe they are a bit more expensive than the WildPeak A/T Trails.
Keep up the great wok and enjoy your Forester!
Thanks for the watch and comment. I did consider the Yokohama Geolander A/T G015, along with the BFG K02's. But the Falkens seemed to be a quality tire, with a pretty decent price difference lower than anything in comparison. Plus the OEM tires that came on my Forester Sport were Falkens, and I was already impressed with how well those performed in all the different environments.
Im loving the Forester! Hope you are enjoying yours just as much as I am. Thanks
Very nice Video, I am currently shopping for a new set of tires for my Subary Forester! My stock came with 225/55/r18s so did your car came with the same size, did you switching to 235/55/r18 meant you changed rims? and did it affect Eyesight or any of the Subaru tech?
Thanks! I went with a slightly larger tire size on oem rims. I did an update video showing that I changed rims and went with an even bigger tire. Eyesight was not affected.
Thank @@Lucrativesoldier, let me look for that video so I can make a decision real quick. Thanks for your reviews, you sort of address concerns of regular folk like myself! Keep it up man
@@PeterKoech001 you’re welcome! Yeah I get a lot of questions, and I’m like, honestly, the video can tell you more than I can remember.😂. Thanks!
Thanks for the video. Did your ground clearance increase from the stock 8.7 inches?
I'll admit, I had the audio turned way down because I'm at work - so you've probably covered this subject, but how is the (paved) road noise with these? I've heard nothing but great things about these tires but I'd like to know how loud they'll be. I have a 2021 Forester Sport so that's as close as it gets to your ride!
lol Well I appreciate the honesty. I get it all the time where people ask questions that I answered in the vid. lol
Theres no increased road noise, which is a huge plus. I have over 20k miles on them, and still looking good. Go for it, you won't be disappointed.
Cooper CS5 ultra... Are my favorite for a Forester sport all year round
Good stuff, thanks a ton. These seem to be the tire for the forester.
Thanks! Yeah I love them. I’ve gotten over 40k miles out of them, and about ready to buy a new set.
Quick question we just a 2024 forester, very worried about the cvt. Have you had any issues?
@@powertools2375 why are you worried? I personally haven’t had any issues other than it overheating during a serious off-road trail that I wouldn’t have even been able to do if I didn’t have a winch. That was one time and I haven’t done that trail again since. I learned my lesson on that one. Lol
I got the 235/60/R18's and have no rubbing. The little lift is nice as well.
235/60/18's in the Falken Wildpeak A/T Trails? If so, I will have to go that route next go around. Plus a lot of people are interested in knowing whether they'll fit without issues.
Yes sir. They were out of stock on 225 so gave 235/60 a shot and have no rubbing.
Matthew M wow! That’s great to know. I will probably go that route next time. I wish you could post pics.😒. Thanks for the update.👍🏾✌🏾

Sorry I’m just now seeing your comment.😒. Not sure why I didn’t get notification.
Thanks, glad I could help👍🏾. I appreciate the following. Currently for tow recovery I just use the stock shackle, and a Harbor Freight Recovery strap. I haven’t been doing much off tossing, so haven’t been too worried about it. Plus I’m thinking about adding a winch kit, so we’ll see.
Was that cabin in Dick Creek Village? If not, looks just like it.
lol you have a typo, but yes that’s Duck Creek. Love it there❤️
Damn! You stole my thunder! I'm getting those put on tomorrow!

And no, I just got them out on a couple of weeks ago. With that trip, I have less than 2,000 miles on them.
Wow! I was just searching for this tire on the interwebs, as I have to replace our 08 Outback tires, and they're goofy size. Finding decent "semi off road tires" for this outback is crazy, just on - road tires are available.. I have been doing a bit of midwestern offroading, not anything serious or mud, but def. need some good tires. Thanks for the review!
Glad I could help. Thanks for the checking it out, and the comment. You won't be disappointed with these. Im loving them.
i have a crosstrek and i was gonna get 60r but since i watched how close those 55r, im for sure not getting 60r haha
Nick DeVary lol yeah I’m sure that won’t be good.😂. But you’ll love them in the 55’s.
Great videos man! Did you do anything with the spare tire? Any thoughts on that?
Also wanted to confirm no issues with rubbing if the car is packed with a heavy load or hitting bumps
Thanks! I left the spare stock. One reason is it’s just that. If I had a matching rim, and had it mounted on the back hero style, then, I might have done the spare. But even then, they say if all your tires don’t have the same amount of tread, it could ruin the CVT. Thankfully I haven’t had to deal with a flat.(knock on wood)
And no, haven’t had any rubbing at all.👍🏾
@@Lucrativesoldier thank you!
Dang, just bought some Yokohama Geolanders. I would have saved $200 if I went with these.
Awe man, sorry to hear that. The geolanders are good too, but yeah, $200 savings is nice. Lol. Well now you know for next time.
Nice review!!! Can’t wait to slaps these tires on my Atlas.
Ian Yong thanks! Yeah hopefully you love them like I do.👍🏾
Thanks for the vid! Cant wait to get these put on my sport!
Mike Nickles thanks for the watch and comment! You’ll love them!👍🏾✌🏾
good day!
been researching bout trail terrain tires for my forester too and i came across your page. so i was set into getting the 235/55/18 like you but the tire shop i was going to was trying to discourage me into getting a wider one. so question, have you had any problems with your turns even after a year?
I have had absolutely zero issues with these tires. No rubbing at all, at full lock both directions. And I’ve gotten over 50,000 miles on mine now, so they lasted a lot longer than the oem tires. You can’t go wrong with them.👍🏾
I have 235/60r18 on my Forester but it's the hankooks. These will be my next tires most likely.
I have the same wildpeak 235/55/19 on my cx5 carbon edition. They look really nice but ride quality is bad. I also lost about 2 mpg and the car feels a bit slower.
Good lookin all the way around. ESP on those STI wheels. Gunna buy some for my ‘15 OB
David G Perfectdaycalendar thanks! I’m loving them. You won’t regret it.👍🏾✌🏾
Nice Forester really sharp with the black rims on black paint with the red accents it looks really sporty. Did you notice a difference in road noise from stock tires? What about when you hit a pot hole do these absorb better than stock with a thicker tread? Im think of getting these or the Yokohama Geolander A/T G015 tires on my new Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross SEL in stock size 225/55/18. Whats your thoughts?
K McKenzie thanks! Well, I don’t have any experience with the Geolanders, so I can’t really comment about them. But I love the Wildpeak. No noticeable difference in road noise, and a bit more dampening on the road. I will definitely be getting another set once these are done. No regrets.
Just got a set on my 19 Sport and immediately felt the ride difference. They are so much softer riding than the OE Ziex001s, and seem quieter too. Now, should I be THAT guy and take it back to have the one tire mounted serrated side out flipped to match the others with the raised side out...
Glad you're loving them. They are definitely an improvement over the stockers, which impressively handled all conditions IMO. And Yeah, I would be that guy. lol. It would bug me every time I look. lol. And, that was their mistake, so it should definitely be corrected.
Terry Farmer I wouldn’t say the stocks didn’t handle things, but at 18k they weren’t inspiring confidence. I’m gonna give them a call and get set up to get the single tire fixed. At least it’s just the one, honestly I’d probably have asked for all 3 to be fixed if it was the other way around.
@@717dash_cam I hear you there., I took mine almost twice as far before replacing them. lol. But that's because I mainly was driving city and highway, in good conditions.
Look at the good side, it will be quicker just doing the one tire. ;-)
@@Lucrativesoldier Very true! I did mine because I still have 2 years left in my lease and I'd rather get tires now, instead of needing to replace them for state inspection 6 months before my lease is up. At least this lets me get some winter use out of them. Now that I've said that, we're either going to get 10 feet of snow or nothing. Either way, the softer compound already saved the day. Had a toddler run out in front of me within 2 hours of them getting installed...
How many miles on your forster sport? any major issues with the tranny or anything?
I’m currently at just over 74000 miles. Haven’t had any major issues. Still running strong.
@@Lucrativesoldier keep me posted. I may end up getting a sport.
@@RangerRickTV 👍🏾. I love mine. My parents got the Ascent and hate it. It’s been nothing but problems for them.🥺
Looking to get me a 2020 Subaru Outback. Going for the same tire but keeping the same size as original. Going with a Ready Lift 2"
Nice! I have the ready lift 2” lift installed, and love it. But now I’m ready for some bigger tires. Lol
@@Lucrativesoldier You don't want to go to big. I came across this article about bigger tires on these cars.
How to Modify Your Subaru for Off-Roading.
@@broinsocali I agree, then you're asking for problems. I think the size im at now, is just enough that it doesn't throw things off too much.
@@Lucrativesoldier well then sir I wish you good luck and safe travels. Maybe I'll catch you on a trail run after I get my Outback
@@broinsocali definitely! I want to start doing runs ones a month, so we'll see how that goes. You'll be invited.
I just wanted to confirm that these tires are 235 as the stock tires are only 225. I wanted to make sure that they would work, I’m picking up my forester sport next week and want to upgrade the tires.
Yes! Just installed 235 on my stock 225 last week.
Great content, very informative.
Thanks I appreciate it!✌🏾
Nice review! I am between these and the continental contact terrain at for my Ridgeline. Continental look less aggressive, but I’m a little worried about mpg loss.
Thanks! I can’t tell you anything about the continentals, but I love these. I think they dropped mpg slightly, but for me, I think my driving habits have the biggest impact, so I don’t really worry about it. Lol. I’m completely satisfied with the overall performance and quality of these tires.👍🏾
@@Lucrativesoldier thanks for the quick reply! I also do some towing, so I see lower mpg and think also a slight loss of power which makes me hesitant. I’ll probably still go for the great look of them though.
@@ScruffyCityFishing no worries. I try to stay on top of comments, but I don’t always get a notification.😒
Yeah I don’t think they’ve made my vehicle more sluggish than it already is.😂
@@Lucrativesoldier I’ve never driven a Subaru, but I have a friend who went from a matrix so a cross trek. He loves it, but definitely complains about it being slower than his Toyota.
@@ScruffyCityFishing lol yes I’ve gotten use to it. Keeps you out of trouble, but at the same time, gets you in trouble.😂. But I love it for everything else it’s good at. Lol
Man tire sizes are confusing. I’m about to buy a 2021 forester sport. I want a little bigger tire but I do t want to trim anything. I drive a lot on the pavement so I’ll prob just go with what size you went with. I’ve been reading some people go bigger on the middle number. Like 225/60 or 65??
It definitely is. It took a lot of research to finally decide on the size I went with. That middle number is basically a percentage of that larger number. So I did 235/55 which means the tire is 235 width and the height is 55% of that width.😳. Don’t know why they chose to do it that way. Lol. But with these exact tires, I would recommend the same size I went with. Good luck!✌🏾
Falken do not list this tyre on their website so it does not exist.
The forester tyre size is 225-55-18 so why didnt you get that size?
You are mistaken. They are listed on Falkentire website. Download the size sheet. You’ll see it at the bottom of page 1. I chose this size because I wanted a bigger tire. Check out my update video to see I went even bigger with the next set I purchased. The bigger the tire, the better. Better for off-roading, and a smoother ride on road.
F-150 front wheel drive lol never seen one of those before.
Tim Carnes 😂 right! I’m guessing it was 4x4 and the front was digging in. I was just excited to successfully rescue them.😂
Oh it's a thing!... 😉😂🤣
Informative, thanks. How do they handle in rain? I live in Miami where snow isn't a concern, but rain is. I'm interested in this tire because I do light off roading when we take the ATV's out.
MrDjSaneR Thanks! Awe man, I did forget to do rain performance😩. But they handle very well in the rain. You still feel well planted and in control. I think these are a great all around, do everything tire.
@@Lucrativesoldier Awesome to hear - thanks for the info!!
Nice video - I need to get the Forester first though.
Thanks! If you can, get a 2020 or 2021. The eyesight is better than on my 2019 model.😩
I just bought a 2021 sport any issue s
With rubbing while turning , bumps?
I may go with 235 55 / 18s. Thanks
Absolutely 0 issues.👍🏾
Thank you
@@Bhill-jo2wg you’re welcome!👍🏾
Thanks for the review. Do you have any updates on the tires? How are they holding up? Road noise also?
Thank you! Been trying to get an update vid edited, but been super busy. Currently have 50k+ miles on the tires. They’re about ready for replacement, but not in a rush. Now they’re worn down, they’re a bit louder, and not as smooth. But I will definitely be replacing them with the same tires, just maybe a little bigger. Not sure yet.👍🏾
@@Lucrativesoldier Thank you! Appreciate the feedback. Was thinking about Wildpeak or Geolander 015.
@@whoakhonga6780 I have no experience with the geolanders, but I will be happily purchasing the Wildpeak again.👍🏾
Great video and LOVE these tires...I’ll definitely be getting these for my RAV4 Adventure once I need new tires. Low key wish I had gone with this over the RAV. Should’ve spoken to you more before making the decision. Oh, do you have any advice for getting rid of some mild spider webbing on black paint?
Thanks! I love the tires. When its time for new ones, ill be getting them again. Only thing I might change is, putting them on aftermarket wheels.
The Rav4 looks nice, but I was too stuck on Subaru to consider it. lol. But I love my Sube. It can handle just about anything I throw at it.
As for the paint, I just ordered some clay bars to do my car with. It should take care of the webbing, but I'm not certain until I try it.
What part of AZ are you in? Might have to meet up for a Forester/RAV4 challenge vid if you're up for it. I find myself out that way every now and then.

I have Wildpeak At3W's on my F150. Plowed through snow in Illinois last winter w/ np. Just bought 04 Grand Cherokee for work and hunting in winter. Can't decide whether goin with AT Trails or At3W. Does anyone know if fuel economy is negligible? Like that you gain 10,000 more tread expectancy. Any thoughts???
Nice! I would go with the less aggressive AT Trails if you’re going to be doing a lot of commuting. I think the AT Trails put a little dent in mpg, but I think slight changes in my driving habits do the same.😒. I will say with about 25-30k miles on mine, I’m still in the green with tread wear.😃
I have them on my 2005 CR-V and they are excellent!
Great review
Thank you!✌🏾
Hey was up. I’m 6’2 and was wondering how’s the head and leg room in the Subaru sport your currently driving? Love the vids man keep it up!
JMan007 How’s it going? Thanks! well, I’m only 5’10”, but it seems pretty spacious. With the seat as far back as it goes, the pedals are just in my reach. I probably sit about 6” closer. I also probably have about 6” of head room, with a slight recline. Take one on a test drive, I think you’ll love it.
I’ll be posting a 42,000 mile update soon, so be on the lookout.👍🏾✌🏾
Terry Farmer thanks. Was thinking about investing in one. Was looking for a car that’s is good with gas mileage.
Great video Im putting these on my 2020 wrx pretty soon but my size is gonna be smaller lol 225/55r17
Softroader-WRX Thanks! Yeah, these will look nice on the WRX, and will make sure you get to where you’re going.👍🏾
Terry Farmer yeah these are nice looking. They look pretty aggressive for the size. Making an offroad wrx build well more like a softroader lol.
Softroader-WRX nice! I’m hoping to do a lift in the near future to make my Forester a bit more capable. These vehicles are impressive.
Terry Farmer yes they are lol I already have a 2” lift kit installed on my wrx. It’s just making the decision of what size and what tire I want to run.
Softroader-WRX what lift did you go with? I just ordered the 2” ready lift kit.
Those tires look nice af. I need those, but I dont have your sweet black rims. Did you get a new spare tire? your factory spare wont work with those big nice ass tires.
Mike M thanks! No new spare. But I don’t think they are that much of a difference in size, and I have towing. So if it comes down to it(knock on wood) I’ll have it towed. I’m considering a full-size spare, but haven’t decided on where to keep it yet.
You can find people selling their OEM Black rims for a decent price.👍🏾
Good video bro !
al sarp thanks, I appreciate that!✌🏾
Terry Farmer I just got the 2018 xt ... are those the tires you recommend? ... I’m coming from a Tacoma and the stock tires are not gonna cut it for my outdoor life lol
al sarp congrats! Yes I definitely recommend these tires. IMO they are the best bang for the buck. When these wear out, I’ll be getting a new set.👍🏾
I haven’t gotten a Subaru yet but I thought about getting all terrain tires like that on the touring. Are you planning on lifting yours?
I love the tires. I do plan on lifting sometime in the future. Only cause Ive found myself on trails where I had to turn around because I didn't have enough clearance to go further. Im sure no matter how lifted it gets, you'll still run into some obstacles that can't be overcome. lol.
Are these tires noisy on pavement? How is your fuel economy affected? Thanks in advance.
Eduardo Albuerme no audible difference in road noise. As for mpg it’s hard to say. My mpg varies so much depending on my driving habits. I think it may have decreased a couple of miles per gallon, but can’t be certain.
Only issue is, one bump and these hit your wheel well
Negative! They have never hit or rubbed the wheel well.
What type of lettering is on the other side of the tire. I wanted to put these on my forester. It says black raised letters. But what is on the other side of the tire. I wanted to know if it was raised white lettering, no lettering or flat black lettering. I called discount tire direct but they said they didn't know.
Hey Terry, quick question. I'm considering the Forester Sport because I'm not entirely happy with the way they updated new 2021 Crosstrek refresh. Plus, the Forester Sport style looks dope. Can you tell me how the road/highway noise compares to other vehicles you've owned? Is the wind loud because of the roof rails or is it fairly normal?
Daryl Todaro honestly, I don’t notice the wind noise. Mainly because we’re always listening to music. Another reason is, I use to have a lifted Ford Excursion, with big off-road tires. So every time we rolled in that, you heard the loud distinctive hum of the tires, so everything seems quiet compared to that.😂. Someone compared it to their Audi Q5, and said the noise was much louder than the Audi. But that’s something I would suspect, since the Audi is a luxury vehicle. So I would suggest taking a test drive and putting it on the highway, because personally, I didn’t notice until people started commenting about it. Let me know what you think after you do.👍🏾
@@Lucrativesoldier Hey man. Thanks for the speedy response and info. Much appreciated. I will definitely take it for a test drive when the dealers open back up. The new Crosstrek is starting to grow on me. It finally has the same horsepower as the Forester. Let me ask you this, how is the handling of the Forester at highway speeds? Body roll? How's the handling of corners ? I'm not trying to race or anything but just curious because it's a little bigger than the Crosstrek. Let me know if you have the time. otherwise, no big deal.
