  • In this one, we tackle a big pile of Monster agates to find out what's inside! I picked out a good assortment of Montana Agates, Teepee Canyon agates, and one monster chunk of Yellowstone river petrified wood and head on over to hang out with our good friend ‪@MontanaRockMom‬ and let Drogon FEAST! The results were phenomenal! We could not believe just how amazing these stones were on the inside! The smallest rock cut was STILL over 5 pounds, so that alone is a tip off that things are gonna be good! It was just way too much fun! Let me know down below which one was your favorite, and I hope you enjoy!

I love the Montana agates. I have a ring that I have to replace the stone with a Montana moss agate. I still haven't done it yet. I lost the original stone back in 1997. It is a set of his and her rings. One of these days I will find the right agate to replace, right now I'm short of funds! I do love watching the amazing colors and designs that come out of each stone.

The white plume agate was INSANE. The amethyst iris was also great! The grain on the pet wood was awesome too. Lots of pet wood here in Oregon is also black. The last rock took the cake. Amazing that nature herself does such perfect squares and circles. Loved it! Looking forward to you and Rookie's makers challenge next weekend. Take care until then.

    Stunning! Exciting!
I love the energy and love of rockhounding that the two of you have. I’m 100% on board and a junkie at the same level.
These picks for Drogon, were amazing! So much beauty and so interesting. You have some stunners in your possession. Love it 🤩.
I wish I had some huge chunks like yours 🤯. I have no way to cut them though. Lol. I have a pile of Montana Agates, but only a quarter of the size. They are still amazing, no matter the size. But yours are mind blowing 🤯.
Prairie agates are so awesome. I was hoping you would cut it long ways. I have some similar looking but the the cut long ways was phenomenal. They are such a mystery and some of my favorites to slab.
As always, you two are 🤩.
Love seeing Alexis. She cracks me up.
    Thanks for sharing with us.
    Stay Crystal 💫

Prairie agates are some of my absolute favorites to cut, you really never kniw what you might end up with😂 and yes! Definitely have to get that list for you!🤦🏻 the past few weeks have been utter chaos but ill have some time again soon!

Holy Crap!!!...number two slab of agatized petrified wood really looks alot like black boulder opal without play of color! That is beautiful material! Number three would be amazing sliced thinly so you get about 15 slices , copper and or silver wire ,iron or steel rod for support ...made into a lamp shade. What are the chances that amazing square came from a long gone fluorite crystal? Or pyrite ? That has to be so rare

Like the surface of a califlower. Anyway he won the huge mathmatics award some time ago now. The geometry is actually semulating creation its surroundings. Drogon is an 18 inch saw so really nothing over a height of about 7 or 8 inches should go in, but we definitely have before😅😂 we are definitely fortunate that kim lets us come over to slab our bigguns, that is definitely not something i can do at my shop

Not a rock hound, but I've always picked them up including a lava bomb off of Lassen Peak here in California. I loved the one with all the red because it creates crazy patterns -- at the same like I love the frosty white one for the exact opposite reason! I vote for photographic prints but a calendar would be super cool since I lack display space for physical rocks. Thank you all for your fun experience!

Transition metals make the colors in the rocks.

That was really amazing. It really pays to pick up rocks they don’t look like much. I know time is it supposed to interfere with you having fun but how long were y’all cutting rocks how many hours.🤔

Amazingly awesome rocks!! Are you selling slabs? If so, where do I go to shop. I want to add more Iris Agate to my collection. The long white seam Agate you cut too, I'd love a slab. Keep rocking!!

I think the camera does that because of the LED. It flashes on and off faster than the eye can see but it shows up as waves of light in the camera. It frequencies of the LED and the Recocoring of the bits seen by the sensor produce an intermediate wave of what is lit and what is unlit at each given point in the picture, or series of pictures which make up the video.

Exactly right! That one specific maglight was flashing at a different frequency than my frame rate on the camera, but for some reason all of the other lights we used did not do that. Caught me off guard because it never usually does that with my lights, not sure why that one flashlight is different than the rest🤷
