Amy, I had this one in the beginning and after watching your video I sent it back and I got the bigger one. I love my bear. I make your dinner rolls in it every time I have company which is usually consists of my grandchildren. Thank you thank you. Thank you for doing the recipe for the Pullman pan. Keep it up. I love to watch your videos. Please make more videos with the bear. I think you're amazing. I've learned so much. Although I've been doing bread for a couple of years now. I still learn something all the time from you. Thank you and more videos on bread and rolls
I have both the 4.5 and the 7 qt Bear models. They haven't had the 7 qt model available for some time. I was lucky enough to snatch one up a few years ago That one is stored away and the 4.5 does the regular duty. Love my Bear.
I love your channel, amy! I bought the bear machine and made my first two loaves of pullman bread using your recipe. Came out great. Your directions are so clear about whatever your demonstrating. I really appreciate you!
@orangellight really depends on what you are using it for. The Ank is great, but if I'm making a small batch of dough (for buns,or flatbread) , the Bear is just more convenient. The Ank is more versatile as it will do everything, cookies, cakes, dough, meringue, frosting. The Bear just makes dough. Also the Ank is built to last. I doubt that the Bear will stand the test of time. I just like kitchen appliances, so if I see something neat, I have to have it. But if I had a choice to keep just one, I would keep the Ank everytime. I mill my own flour, so when I do a large bake I go for the Ank. When I want flatbread with dinner or a few buns then I go for the Bear or my Zojirushi depending on the amount of flour I'm using.
Hi Amy and Eric!!! I really like The Bear Machine. I'm thinking of getting me one.Thats a great Machine. The bread looks super delicious...Great Video!!!...🦋
Love ❤️ love your channel. Have been baking some no knead breads this past year. Have been researching dough makers. Already have a kitchen aid but its really only good for a single loaf. Pulled the trigger on this dough maker. Will do my practice run when it arrives. Hope to take homemade rolls to our Thanksgiving gathering this year. Keep shining bright!
thank you Amy. I was wondering if one loaf of bread can be made in this and also, when you say it ferments for hour and half, is that the same thing the bread machine does? you know when it stops for awhile? thank you again
My first time watching your channel. I also use my bread machine only for mixing the dough then I bake in the oven. I have one Pullman pan so I can make one loaf. I’ve never heard of The Bear so I have to check it out. Thank you. Your bread looks yummy and your jam too.
Hi Amy, I bought the big one after watching your videos. Do you know if they have replacement hooks? Someone must have thrown it out or put it way away...
Beautiful. Just subscribed. I'm ordering it and the pans. One question is, I'm also a homemade pizza lover, being Italian American. Can I make pizza dough with the bear too?
I've had the 7L Joydeem model for about a year. I make 3 60% hydration pizza doughs at once (about 750g total) weekly. It mixes and ferments dough unsupervised and without having to hold it to not dance off the counter. It has earned premium counter space and placed my KA 5 qt stand mixer in the cupboard.
@@jstaffordii can you help me, Ive trying to get answers about this machine and cant seem to do it. I would love to have something like that and I didnt know they made them. When it says ferments the dough is that the same as with a bread machine where it mixes and then warms up to raise it, can this model you have also do just one loaf at a time? I would appreciate your in put,, thank you
@@sophielucas552 the 7 liter model can handle 1 kg/ 2.2 lbs of flour per batch. That is approximately 4-5 loaves depending on the size of the pan. And yes it has a (around 30C/90 F degrees ferment heating cycle that is programmable from 30-90 minutes to do your primary ferment. Then you have to do your secondary proof in your pan.
@@jstaffordii thank you so much for getting back to me and explaining it all. I appreciate it so much. I hadn’t known they made these. It’s exactly what I’m looking for !
So . . . which of this style machine do you like using the most? Bear big? Bear small? Mokkom? Not sure how many other dough mixer/proofers you've tried out.
Good lawd woman that was the worst bread kneading technique I have ever seen-LOL but it came out beautifully and thanks for sharing the reveiw with us.
When I make my sandwich bread recipe I do a bassinage (mix extra water in after the dough is going) and mix in the butter at the very end after the rest of the dough is all mixed. Can this machine do that? I have a feeling it would just spin the dough around in a sea of butter.

im trying to get an answer to this 4.5 machine, Amy did two loaves but can you tell me if it handles one loaf well? thank you
That dough machine works great. I like the Pullmn pans too ! Great Video. 😄

Thank you so much, Skeeterbug! I really appreciate it!
If I had known I was going to bake bread in the oven and not the bread machine, I would have bought a dough machine.
I have this Bear model and love it. I use it more than my Ankarsrum.
Hey Mike, I’m looking at the Ankarsum, would you say that it’s not worth buying and to just get this cheaper option?

Thank you. A very informative and inspirational lesson in bread making!

I do have a question. What are you going to do with all that bread? Do you freeze it?
Yes. We always freeze one loaf until the other is eaten.
I looove homemade bread! But there is nooo way I can wait for it to cool...!
As for bread dough preparation, how do you think it compares to a Nutrimill Artiste mixer? And, what do you think it might weigh?
I ordered a Zojirushi virtuoso plus bread machine which I should receive on Friday. I think I need to get the smaller one of these machines.
Hi Amy, I bought the big one after watching your videos. Do you know if they have replacement hooks? Someone must have thrown it out or put it way away...
What spray are you using?
Do you feel the ankarsrum is still worth the price difference over this for dough only?

@@Yoda63 it handles this just fine. At first you'll think it's just spinning but be patient, it does all come together.
Is this your dinner roll recipe?
or skip this category all together, and save for a spiral mixer? They are soo pricey, but the mixing action can't be beat.
Second!
