I'm impressed! One amazing mixer. Quiet!!! Whipped the cream fast. Kneaded bread beautifully. Machine itself is a little big and pricey. But I really like it.
At my stage of life, almost 70, don't know how much I would need such a big mixer but wow I wouldn't refuse one as a gift😁

I have owned a Wolf dual fuel 30" range since 2005, and the range has never been fixed. It is still working as perfectly today, 14 years later as when I first bought it. If this mixer is anything like my range, it may be $900, and you have to determine how frequently it will be used, but it may be the only mixer you'll ever need. I'm already on my fourth KitchenAid in 40 years. Wish I still had my first KA, when ALL the parts/accessories were made in the USA, and yes, it was as quiet as the Wolf. Not like now, with the cheap parts from Asia.

So true! My first KitchenAid lasted 26 years and I used it many times a day as I was selling cakes from my home at the time! My second one only lasted three years and I was just using it a few times a week! I just bought my third, but it was so noisy I returned it an bought the Wolf...hope it lasts until I die!

@@sashineb.2114 so far I am very happy with it, but I no longer use a mixer as often as I used to. I don’t even use it daily, so I can’t answer to its durability, but it’s ease of use and function is great. I am new to Wolf appliances, we put them in our retirement home, but I wish I could have afforded to have them from day one of setting up my first home! Apparently they have not put a lot of emphasis on their small appliances until fairly recently. For the last couple of years they have been giving away small appliances with points earned buying large appliances. When I filled my kitchen I got their mixer, the toaster, the griddle, the blender and the multi function cooker (think pressure cooker but much more). I use the griddle and the convection oven/microwave wall oven daily. My induction stove top, steam oven and everything else I just use occasionally.

@@sortathesame8701 Thanks for your response. I hope you will be very happy with the Wolf products. My niece has their 6-burner gas range, and she loves it. I know what you mean about not using a mixer that much. I was thinking of getting a new Kenwood mixer, but I find I'm just as happy to make things by hand. I no longer make bread using a mixer, as I use a Danish dough whisk, then some stretching & folding. None of that is hard work, so I don't need the mixer. Cakes and such are made in my earthenware bowls, with a wooden spoon, scraper, etc. The Wolf mixer looks very well-built, so you'll likely have many years of good use from it. Have a good day!

That bowl lift mechanism is very interesting in my opinion. That is a beast of a mixer.
Amy there is some kind of a screw at the top of the beater. I think it is for adjusting the hight of the beater in the bowl. My old Kenwood stand mixer had the same type of a screw just for that. I remember lowering my beater a little bit and it made a huge difference with the creaming and mixing. There was no more unmixed stuff left at the bottom of the bowl. Check the user manual. There should be a chapter about that.

I think the slow start is a bit slower in the Wolf because it is a seven quart mixer and they aimed their start speed for a full mixing bowl! I love it, because I make a lot of bread and the Wolf’s extra slow star means I never get the mess my Kitchen Aid can sometimes produce!

a good review and I was happy too see how an expensive would mixer would operate. Im not impressed though, only with the dough.. I thought that was the best dough I have ever seen..But the cookies not so much.. I have an artisan with a wiper blade and have done this cookie recipe many times with no issues. Quick and clean.. so I guess it wouldnt be worth to me to pay this much money for just dough. Whip cream isnt hard anyway, Ive done that with a hand mixer, heck in the old days when I was growing up, my mom had us making whip cream with one of the hand held rotary egg beaters lol.. Im telling my age here lol.. Thanks so much for this video, the dough really looked amazing!

Great job for the hook to not grab up all of the bread dough. The dough hook pushed the bulk of the dough around the edge of the bowl and refused to allow the dough to cling to the hook. Pleasantly surprising. The Wolf is incredibly quite too. It seems to be a step above the rest. I can see where the extra money goes. Can only hope they develop their line of attachments.

I have several scraper paddles for my KitchenAid lift stand mixer and have adjusted the height multiple times and I still get ingredients riding up the sides and not incorporated at the bottom, so not sure that feature is a deal breaker. Loved my original tilt-head kitchen aid but it struggled with yeast recipes and the pin kept coming out. Was so excited about the bigger, more powerful KitchenAid and so disappointed. Didn’t open the box for two years as I had no space for the bigger mixer. When I finally did open and use it, I ways very surprised to see the weaknesses. Too late to return it, but trying to figure out what will work better.
I guess my point with all this was which mixer can properly do an average cake or cookies and handle the occasional yeast recipe like cinnamon rolls or a loaf of bread without feeling like it will break (like my tilt head KA)? Watched many of your reviews and this Wolf seems pretty nice.

I dunno, that thing is huge. It’s nice looking, but I would gladly take an old “ugly” Hobart any day. If it was in the price range of the comparable Kitchenaids and came in a 5 or 6 quart version, maybe. I gotta be honest, I rewatched your Hobart vs Pro 600 video and the 600 rocked that bread dough. Yeah the Wolf is quiet, which is nice, but I can’t say that’s a selling point for me. Functionality and price are above all else in my book. I have a refurbished Pro 600 coming to do the bread doughs that I wouldn’t dare make my Classic Plus do, and with extra discounts it was about $250. I can’t see spending nearly a grand or more on a mixer if I don’t have to. Then again I doubt that apartment dwellers like me or folks with regular sized kitchens are their primary demographic. lol 😋

Hi Amy, Thanks for such a thorough review. The bread dough looked wonderful, but I did notice lots of scraping for the cookie dough. I'm surprised about the ranking, though, over the Commercial 8. The KA 8 has a DC motor, so it's very quiet, too. Did Eric say something about the Wolf being your only stainless steel mixer? I thought that's what I heard but can't find the place in the video now. Aren't the Kenwoods stainless steel, too? If you can do a comparison test between the Wolf and KA 8, that would be great. Thanks again.

Only time will tell, but I'm guessing the electronics will be the weak point, if any. I must say, when I compare my Hobart KitchenAid to Whirlpool KitchenAid, the Hobart is definitely better built when doing tough doughs.

I have hand issues (carpal tunnel & arthritis). I wouldn't mind paying $900 if I would over all have less of a struggle using it. I am wondering how heavy the bowl is because it looks like a beast by itself. Do they sell extra bowls for when you wish to do two projects without having to dump, switch, and wash between projects? I have been leaning towards a Bosch because it looks easy to dump ingredients into it. I have the Kitchenaid with the bowl lift. I'm not crazy about it other than it's cobalt blue. Manufacturers can sell me anything in cobalt. I once saw a Viking kitchen with cobalt appliances. I can only dream of that.

I'm entering the home bakery category so this would actually be awesome if it works well for cookie and bread dough 😎 everything has it's target market. Amy- Thanks for this great review.
As you probably already know - and merely misspoke - the KitchenAid Pro-Line 7-Quart mixer carries a *Full 5-Year* [residential] Warranty. And more-important as far as the Wolf, 5-Year warranty is concerned - it's so [undoubtedly deliberately] poorly-written as to very easily deny many legitimate claims availed of it. Say what you will about Whirlpool/KitchenAid - their warranties are clearly and specifically-written, and with their stand mixers - quite generous. Hopefully, the Wolf's 5-Year warranty is merely window dressing, and the design, build quality and manufacturing practices will insure a long life without any failures or the need of a warranty of any type. But - as we all know....

+smsstuart Very few KA mixers have a 5 year warranty. Some only have 1 year like the Pro 600. Thanks for watching.

smsstuart I am looking for a dough beast and I think this Wolf is the one I am going to get because that dough looked absolutely beautiful and it's quiet and pretty smooth. I will probably look into Bosch next and then make my decision.
I would never get a kitchenaid though, their quality has gone completely downhill. They used to be great many years ago, but now they are junk. Even their 5 yr warranty 700 series has many awful reviews, just like all of their other models and their customer service is horrible and they don't stand behind their products. No thanks..

i am not sure....yet. seems to have the same issues as KitchenAid with having to scrap down the sides to incorporate flour. A rubber paddle will be in the future. Cant believe how much appliances have skyrocketed. Has anyone had this appliance over a year? Is it a work horse?

Thank you for the excellent review. Wolf private labels its small appliance line through Hamilton . . . which to some, is a company that makes inexpensive, poor build lines of kitchen equipment.
    www.subzero-wolf.com/company/press-releases/wolf-appliance-inc-introduces-wolf-gourmet
I've bought the Wolf (Hamilton) 4 slice toaster, sous vide/crock pot and pro blender - they're all excellent builds, work amazingly well, but cost a ton of money. I was waiting to see what you thought of this mixer - especially because of the wobble in your unboxing and similar wobble seen in the Test Kitchen video. From your review, it seems the wobble isn't a big issue/deal killer. I'm worried there aren't currently any accessories for the mixer - and question if there ever will be. Query if the attachment hub is universal so other Hamilton accessories can be used with it.
I'm nervous because I don't have a lot of counter space and this monster is going to eat the rest of my space up. But as one commenter said: the red button siren song is very alluring. :)
Can't wait to see if there are head-to-heads with this mixer. Regardless, I'm likely going to get it - soon. Thanks again, Amy - for posting the review before your vacation!

The one big thing this has over my KitchenAid 6qt pro is noise...This is quiet, the KA is not...otherwise, I feel like the KA is less hassle, less scraping etc...and the bowl goes in the dishwasher...(if you knew how bad I was at doing dishes, you would appreciate that comment lol). The cost considered in.
