I just wasted an hour of my life following instructions in the Operator's Manual that are WRONG. I did it in 2 minutes after watching your video. Live long and prosper! :).

+brenthunter16 thanks for the comment! I know stringing a trimmer should be easy, the manual does not make it easy.

Dude! You don't have to take the head apart to change the string. Just line up the lines on the yellow button and the housing, and you can push the string right through. Then wind it up, and you're done.

ZBeard the way zebeard is the correct way! 30 seconds and done.

ZBeard that was super helpful too, but if it’s jammed up for some reason don’t you need to remove the bump?

Brian Alexander yes if it gets cut off and stuck inside. It would need to be opened.

Cub Cadet should give you free trimmers for life as a customer appreciation award.

Harry Houdini apparently wrote the manual because according to it, line up the arrows, presto chango - just push one string through to the other side....BS! I tried every variation of that and never did the line come out the other side.

That's because the Third World wrote that BULLSHIT PDF. I am here for the EXACT PROBLEM you posted.

I'm glad I didn't waste too much string messing up. I wish I would of seen this video before. I'm not used to this kind of head, so I only used one string and put it through one of the holes and strung both sides with the one string. Oh well at least now I know why the string wasn't coming out.

You don't need to open it up. Line up the notches, put the string in and twist.
