    I was disappointed when you stopped filming the coil clean. It was really satisfying to watch that blanket come off so clean and uniform.

    *Used to supplement the up stairs when it gets hot outside this works very well and **Fastly.Cool** Also works good when the upstairs gets too hot in the Winter from the heater.*

    This was very clear and concise. Every shot was purposeful and the angles had a lot of clarity. Watching the coil cleaning made me realize I could literally watch coil cleanings for hours. Similar to pimple popping in a way

    Always remember to wash/wipe down dirt and oil spots. The next guy sees oil and spends his morning looking for a leak that was repaired months ago.

    I've seen those discharge lines crack on larger Trane RTU's. One cause was compressed compressor mounts causing vibration transfer to the discharge and suction lines. The other more common cause was internal erosion of the copper right after the Rotor Lock fitting. Your unit had Scrolls so it was probably vibration. Nice job on the repair! Small tip regarding use of a clamp-on amprobe. Never pull the clamp on the wire and take a reading. Look at the clamp and you'll see hash marks left, right, and top. The wire should line up with those marks for an accurate reading. Makes a big difference when setting up sheeves on a large belt drive motor...

    I had that exact issue on a trane the same size on both compressors. Had to put elbows on both units.

    I started use blue Dove concentrated dish soap in my coil gun, it’s a degreaser, leave it on for 5-10 min, clean as a whistle, and it doesn’t eat the rubber roof membrane, also doesn’t cost 50 bucks, not that I’m cheap, but a windy day using Nu calgon condenser cleaner, we’ve all been there, burns on arms or wherever is may accidentally spray onto exposed skin.

      @@sjefoekel6058 I understand clothes washing powder being bad due to high pH, but most domestic dishwashing liquid is pH neutral, it's safe to have you hands in it all day, it's basically a wetting agent. The industrial stuff different matter entirely.

    today was the first time I used a torch like that. I must say had just little tuff time at first with the mixture but wow what a difference. I had to hit 5 spots and I has no leak and it's way better than using the turbo torch . I also like how you never cut corners. unfortunately I been through a couple different companies this year and wow the shit I've seen. nothing worse then being yelled at for taking to long on a job cause I'm doing things by the book so to speak

    Micro-channel is CRAP.
    Living in Thailand, ALL of our 11 micro-channel coils failed in less than 6 years FROM NEW. They "weeped gas", and R22. Samsung should be shamed for making such an "environmentally destructive product"!
    Never again Samsung, bought a local brand "Eminent", copper core condenser, ZERO problems.
    Micro-channel should be ILLEGAL!
    Great video, many thanks!

    • @curioushvacguy6876
      @curioushvacguy6876  4 года назад +1

      This coil is not a splitable coil, I shot that video awhile back but I believe I could see through the coil after I cleaned it. The best way to clean them is get some boards or cinder blocks to support that outer coil when you split them- you gotta be real careful with them, I havent cracked one yet cause I take my time when I split them.

    You are a good engineer, And I watch a lot of your videos, however am not agreeing with you putting refrigerant in a system to find a leak , that is intentionally leaking refrigerant into the atmosphere... in the UK you could be find up to £25000 for this.

    • @curioushvacguy6876
      @curioushvacguy6876  4 года назад +4

      Hey there- I searched for my EPA book but couldnt find it to quote it word for word but I do know they allow a certain amount of refrigerant to be used for this purpose, again I dont know the ounces vs the size of the system. I was talking to a few other guys outside the US and they say the same thing, I think we are just behind on our EPA rules

      Curious HVAC Guy Behind, and going backwards! No disrespect to you personally, but your countries policies were already weak and Trump seems hell bent on weakening environmental laws even further. It makes a mockery of the efforts of the rest of the planet when the US pumps out more carbon per person than any other nation already, yet seems keen to increase it further!

    I could be wrong did you add oil?

    • @ligarsystm
      @ligarsystm 4 года назад +1

      @@curioushvacguy6876 With the amount of oil that appears to be all over the place... it appears that you had a high system pressure due to low air flow on the condenser. The hight temp and pressure will load more oil into the refrigerant. The end result was a catastrophic pipe failure and unload of the refrigerant with loads of oil. I don't off hand know how to quickly check oil quantity in the compressor other than to drain it. But might be something to watch for as low oil..... well you know.

    • @ligarsystm
      @ligarsystm 4 года назад

      @@curioushvacguy6876 It is likely ok~ but on the other hand 100% something to watch. Nothing like explaining to the customer... "Yeah I forgot to put oil in it and that's why it only worked for 3 months."
