Walking me through that wiring diagram earned my subscription. I can read wiring diagrams but anything with a board throws me off and I can't read it as well. Now I have a much better understanding! Thank you so much!
I used to play with the carrier economizers a lot when I first got into service. Screwed a few of em up when I was younger and would say fuk it and bypass the shit outta them to get cooling. 🤘good video. Wish there was RUclips when I started in the trade. People starting in service need to Take advantage of these videos!
Great , systematic approach and diagnosis, just starting to learn these units and your videos really help, Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experiences
I’ve been in the trade for a year now plus 6 months of school, I do residential work right now I’m gonna make the jump up to commercial soon I watched your basic pm video gave it a thumbs up I watched this one right after, it’s really helpful ur a bad dude keep up the great work...you just got yourself another subscriber...👍🏼
I really appreciate your thought process and explanation in this video. Definitely realizing that I need to get much better at reading schematics. Thank you for sharing sir.
First, learned from and liked the video. Second, I was not aware that you could interchange the old and new temp/enthalpy sensors for the Honeywell economizers. When we change an old control to a JADE, we are told new sensors are required, yet this has a JADE sensor on the old control. Third, that low ambient lock out should be connected if in an area that gets below 45°. That locks out your mechanical cooling, Y1 or Y2. Either it keeps Y2 from activating because there is no Y1 or the yellow is also Y2 out from the economizer control.
Don't know about him but I started out in 2006 doing commercial and the ol boy I was working for had him a rehabbed meth head who thought he was gods gift to HVAC and they mostly did installs for a corporation called K-mac which was basically taco Bell/ Kentucky fried Chicken & because the owner taught at a local college whenever he said replace a rooftop 20 ton unit they'd just do it and never asked for a second opinion , he basically replaced over 100 unit's in 18 months time many of which were still in good shape. Oh btw the x-methhead and I didn't get along at all I was always two steps ahead of him and he hated that, he wanted so badly to boss me around but I already had done everything most of the time and ended up doing his shit too
Hi Curious HVAC Guy, just wanted to say, I really find your videos insightful and helpful. I am not an HVAC installer, I just like to learn. Your videos are awesome and I really enjoy them. I hope you can continue on making more videos to come :) Thanks again.
The logic of that particular economizer obviously opens the economizer damper for 1st stage cooling under "free cooling". It will also bring on the 1st stage compressor as 2nd stage of cooling (if you're thermostat is calling for 2nd stage). If you wire in that LA lockout, it'll prevent the 1st stage compressor from turning on as 2nd stage cooling, during low ambient conditions. This is also why it's important to have 2 stage thermostats with economizers, regardless if you have 2nd stage compressor or not.
Yes he did not show wiring it back in. Its supposed wired to interrupt the mech cooling call if it’s too cold outside… usually set at 50°f. Its to protect the compressor. I’m hoping he wired it back in
Economizers are tricky to diagnose, they are like a mysterious black box. That’s why ASHRAE has raised the bar and specified more built-in diagnostics & indicators to be more reliable.
Wow that video was dope awesome trouble shooting and attention to detail on the pictorial. I'm a new subscriber. My name is Greg and I go to Community College in Albuquerque New Mexico at Central New Mexico College for H.V.A.C. I'm in my 3 term out of 4 just recently got my residental.
@@curioushvacguy6876 I worked this summer for a residental company it was awesome learned alot of new stuff in the field. As for now I'm back in school going for my commercial end of the trade learning about boilers, pneumatic hydronic systems and controls its alot of fun. I just came up on your channel and I am learning lots from it keep them coming thanks bud.
Economizer jumper is missing? Some genius installer says we don't need this anymore, chuck it with the trash. Guys always zip tie it to the wire. It can get you out of a jam if the economizer becomes unusable.

Thanks for the sub! Glad it helped
@@curioushvacguy6876 100% agreed! Lol

Looks like you've done this once or twice. Great job. It's always harder figuring out someone else's mistakes.
Yes, definitely learnt something--you sometimes have to troubleshoot the guys who came before. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for going over the circuit, I have a similar problem and now feel confident I can get the unit going. I’ll get back to you on my success.

Officially my new favorite channel
Thanks-- I appreciate the support
Thanks for video I'm also HVAC technician from Philippines but I'm working now in Diego Garcia
This was a good video man! Excellent Diagnostics
Great job. I’m still try to understand the economizer and that video helps a ton!!!!thanks for what u doing!!!
Yeah, I would of been on with tech support soon as I rolled up to one of these. Thnx for your quick diagnostic.

Awesome video, really like how you went thru the wiring diagram

I've been searching for some one to show me to trace schematic. Thank you so much
learning a lot about economizers just by watching your vids sir...THNX A BUNCH!!!
Been in the dirld for roughly 8 hesrs man. I sa i couldnt have done ot better myself. Nice work
I thoroughly enjoyed this video. Thanks for taking the time.
That's some great trouble shooting. You are great at reading those schematics.
Got to love the beard trying to steal the show....lol! Beard game is on point.
this is the best video i have seen please keep them coming thanks.
Thanks, will do!
Great vid, they don’t teach techs how to read diagrams like this man lol trial by fire but u made it look super easy
This educational video is great. I gonna watch again and again!
Awesome video.
Cant wait to see more of these😊

I just joined today. Excellent video and very descriptive.
Awesome channel really like how ya bring us along through the troubleshooting process............
Thx lot all information you share .priceless 🙏
Wow great video and teaching, thanks Sir
Awesome video thought process spot on
Good video. So the LA switch stayed deenergized?
Quality video by a quality Engineer!
Very Good Diag. Thanks for the video!
This is magic man. Congrats 👏
Great diagnosing. Great tips.
Binge watching your videos
Do you service Lansing at all in Michigan? I have a few RTUs that I wouldn’t mind you servicing
excellent video, thanks for sharing
Good job. Great troubleshooting.
Thanks 👍
Did a really good job on that one, new viewer
Thanks Stanley
Wow great video man thank you for all the info
Thanks for the video
Good one on diagnosis 👍
good vid bud
awesome job
Hi I was wondering what are the different set points on the enthalpy
Great stuff man
Great video 💯💯💯💯💯
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Did you ever rewire the low abeyant lock out switch?

Nice job.
Good shit broski
Thanks
Great video
Thanks!
Great Trouble shooting.

And the Beard of knowledge fix it again 😊
Great vids man!
Outdoor air stat or enthalpy sensor?

Only few technicians properly set up the economizer module during equipment startup. A lot of people assume it comes preset from factory. 🙄
Brilliant! Understanding economizers is brain surgery for most. I like the “jade” controllers for ease of use. Carrier are so over complicated.
Thats one tall curb adapter!
👍
Where is the mixed air sensor in blower compartment should be a resistor

No sir- its a store that sells things for around a dollar
Those magnetic switches can be so noisy. (Contactors). I’m Not tech, electronics enthusiast.
