    Sounds great, but anymore I wonder what the thrill of driving a car like this is on public roads. You have so much power that in barely a few seconds you're going way over the speed limit if you get into it, so any reasonable person is going to short shift it and then cruise along in 6th gear. What's the point of all the power if you can't really use it? Even most people who own a high performance car rarely take them to a track or anything, so it's a car that won't be used as it was intended for 98% of its life. Kind of seems a waste, no?
    Don't get me wrong, I get the fun of acceleration and enjoy it myself but after a certain point it just seems superfluous and excessive. Can't imagine for anyone who owns a supercar what it's like, they have to be driven at 1/10th for basically their entire existence...

    • @kilgoretrout321
      @kilgoretrout321 5 лет назад +3

      I was thinking the same thing. It's like having 10000 spoons when all you need is a knife. A little ironic, don't ya think?

    • @TheTallAbacus
      @TheTallAbacus 5 лет назад +5

      That's the reality of owning any fast car. A massive tease.

    • @Shintsu2
      @Shintsu2 5 лет назад +2

      @@kilgoretrout321 I dunno, it's a bit more like to keep your example going having a solid titanium spoon vs. a cheap plastic spoon. The end result ends up the same, they both scoop up objects. I hate it, because I have always loved sports cars and still love the way they look and sound but it seems like so much money spent on aspects of a car you will rarely ever appreciate. At least people dropping $100k on an S-Class Mercedes are enjoying that soft ride and supreme luxury every time they drive it, whereas in a sports car you are often suffering with a worse ride and less luxuries just for the sake of performance you won't be able to appreciate outside of a track.
      Perhaps those who have access to the Autobahn would have a much better case for it, since they have somewhere they can legally take advantage of their cars power but for most of us that's not an option. Driving a Veyron anywhere besides the autobahn must be an exercise in blue balls...

    • @zalcan3620
      @zalcan3620 5 лет назад +1

      This is the mindset of slow car fast being fun because you get the experience of pushing it harder for longer but with less true potential, but if you're only looking to do a little over at most that's all you need right?
      That's definitely not to say a fast car isn't fun tho I'd open this thing up just like he did and as often

    • @DeathProfessor
      @DeathProfessor 5 лет назад +4

      I agree. I love cars, I love performance and horsepower but owning a fast car in the US is like going to a strip club. You're just gonna be left with blue balls. Sure you can let it rip sometimes but you're always going to be looking in your rear view mirror paranoid about the red and blue. Not to mention cars like this tend to be cop magnets to begin with. Spending that much money on something that you take a big risk to enjoy or are left wanting more just doesn't seem worth it imo. Maybe if you're rich enough that you can afford to pay off the tickets and insurance increases. Or as a track toy.
      Of course this is youtube and you're gonna have all the keyboard warriors talking about how they street race and speed all the time and don't care but in the real world it's a big deal to have your car impounded, license suspended, big tickets, insurance increase, in some cases even going to jail. I'd rather spend a few thousand on a top of the line gaming PC that I know I can push to it's limits than many tens of thousands on a car I can only push to half or less it's potential without being put in handcuffs.
