I'm a seventy-two year old woman sitting at a (pine) table in the centre of England and this late in my life I have become addicted to a man in Tennessee who saws wood, plays guitar, has a cat, and talks like no one I know. Who'd have thought it. You'd better get a new mill soon young man, or I shall be chewing the legs off this table and you wouldn't want me to treat good timber like that would you?
Not to worry, Ma'am, I'm sure Nathan will be replacing old Woody with one that has ALL the bells and whistles! You may save the chewing for the beavers!
I'm on my sofa in NE Ohio USA. Am 71, soon to be 72, and also a woman and I too enjoy this young man and his wood saw. Always did love the natural look of wood and the ascent of the south. I trust that the new Wood-Mizer will be bigger and better.
I am a 69 year old man and these videos are addictive. Much better than the fake news I see on tv. Keep making them and enjoying your trade. There are a lot of folks who envy you. If my health was not so bad and my knees would take it I'd have to learn this trade. It is very interesting. Wish I had seen one of these videos 50 years ago. I dont know how you part with some of that wood. Have just a super day and God bless!
A WONDERFUL FATHER, ACCOMPLISHED SAWYER, AND IM SURE GOD IS SMILING DOWN ON YOU AS YOU WORK. I SUFFER FROM ANXIETY ATTACKS, AND THESE VIDEOS STOP THEM RIGHT AWAY. THANKS, MY FRIEND..GOD BE WITH YOU AND YOURS...ALWAYS
Gotta be one of the best sites on YT. As an old long retired woodsman from New Zealand, I just loved the sounds, the logs the finished timber and as a life long guitar player too, loved the sound tracks you provided. Looking forward to the next phase........
...yeah, that walnut wood grain is very beautiful,...but even that yellow pine has a beauty all of its own. I miss wood working... a lot. Thank you for doing these excellent videos.
Nathan, thanks for sharing your last log with us. Glad it was a Southern Yellow Pine, kinda fittin’ ... Really looking forward to this weeks video and your new saw. Hope Wood Mizer hooked you up with a larger saw. Ready too see the next machine and more videos.
Heck, I must have watched dozens of your videos & enjoyed them so much that I just kept going, so NOW I have realised that I should have subscribed long ago. I am an 83 year old retired Senior Master of Art in South Australia,. I was retired at the retired on invalidity at the ripe old age of 47 because of the severity of my Arthritis & 20 joint operations, all during school holidays, so I could 'stay in front of my classes'. I now watch videos to distract me from the constant pain, even now after 30+ operations. I love watching videos relating to 'wood' because that was my favoured medium for 'Sculpture work'. There is something about the way you work & produce your videos that fascinates me, so let's keep going. Cheers, Don from South Australia.
With all the rush rush and everyone in a hurry to go no where today you show what patience and time can yield some of the most beautiful creations that nature give us also Your character and charisma is just as wonderful Can’t wait to see what that new saw is going to create for us I have spinal cord injuries and I’m unable to do much of anything anymore and your videos help a guy that was creative like you get threw some rough times Thanks
I stumbled over your videos a few months ago and it’s hard to explain why but they always made me feel peaceful. It’s not just watching you sawing, it’s not just the timber itself, it’s not just your calm personality, it’s not just the nice music you play, it’s all of it. Life in a big city with 5 million other people just doesn’t compare to where you live and what you do. I’m kinda jealous of you a little. Don’t leave us high and dry please, love what you do. Regards from Sydney Australia!
I'm a woodworker and really appreciate what you do! You lend a unique touch to what many would consider a tedious job, but I find it incredibly informative and relaxing. Your manner of speaking and your musical choices make for very entertaining videos. Thank you for sharing and good luck in your endeavors.
That has to be bittersweet. I'm sure there is a lot of memories associated with that sawmill from the first time you fired her up until the last cut you made with it. Can't wait to see the new mill you are getting!
Just so you know o watch your vids because to me its a true blessing to see a man loving what he is doing i truely beleave that is when we know the lords true blessings God bless keep up the great work
Good luck with your new mill hope we see you soon.Buy good old LT 35. You and I both know sawin wood is one of life’s simple pleasures see you later my friend.
Watching your videos are my piece and quiet times of the day. I have only been watching for about six months but I go back and watch all the old ones too. Can’t wait to see the new mill and watch you saw some more beautiful walnut.
I worked at Hackmann lumber when I was in high school and we had to plane down pine boards for karate classes. I will never forget the smell of thousands of fresh cut pine boards. I could smell it again just watching this video. I hope to one day own my own small mill just to make slabs. I enjoy watching you make slabs and seeing the beautiful figures in some of these woods. Its like a present every time.
I just stumbled on your channel last night. I've liked woodworking for a long time but never done any milling. I don't know if I ever will but I sure do like watching you do it. The best part is that you turned me on to The Eastern Plains and that in itself is worth thanking you for. Thank you! I've been listening to 'I Go Blind' way too much in the past day. Keep on sawing!
You started not too happy about sawing pine and ended feeling really good about sawing lumber. Nice way to close the chapter with this mill. Thanks for another wonderful video.
Out of high school I worked at the building supply with my dad and uncle. Couldn't wait to run the table saw or plainer. Been shopping for a mill. Like the lucasmill. It's a swing blade set up, but has a slabbing attachment that uses a chainsaw bar and chain. Pros and cons to everything. Enjoyed the video and the comments. You're blessed by some loyal people. That's encouraging. Look forward to the new mill. Thanks for sharing.
Wow, there is something very hypnotic about these videos. I’ve never been near a sawmill in my life, know absolutely nothing about wood, yet here I am, addicted to this channel. Beautiful video Nathan, only bettered by the beautiful part of the world in which you are blessed to live. Simply stunning. Thank you for another wonderful video.
So grateful to have run across your videos. I grew up as the first great grandchild in my great grandfather's water powered sawmill in Ohio. At 71, seeing someone with your passion renews my faith in humanity. Thank you...can't wait for the next journey.
Variety is the spice of life they say and I do swear that I think wood grain is beautiful. Remember some of your early videos with that machine. I get sentimental when I part ways with a good car or truck.
My mother taught me to wash in Vinegar as soon as possible to stop poison oak and ivy dead in it's tracks. Works for me, when I get into the brush I keep a gallon jug around. Hope this helps... I appreciate your videos. Lots of pretty wood!
SYP ( Southern Yellow Pine). The most beautiful wood in the world to me. I have several 100 brd ft of kiln dried clear and better in my furniture shop right now, and keep it in stock. Thanks for sharing your videos.
Truely enjoyed watching this video Nathan. Sounds like you enjoyed it as well. Keep up the good work. And always try to enjoy what you do...Soo saw more timber, cut all the 1x6 's you want! Thanks for bringing me along.
tubularguynine I'm a few years ahead of you at 79 in the middle (sorta) of the USA and I 'm having withdrawals. Nathan you are enjoyable to watch, such an awesome you tuber. Thank you Nathan for educational, wholesome, good entertainment.
I came upon this channel on youtube. I have enjoyed watching you make the wood cuts .Crazy I know, but I enjoy it. Like opening a gift, there is a surprise inside.
I love watching you slab Walnut, cut timber, drive your tractor around your place and doing simple pleasures in life that you can make a living at. I’ll be glad to see you with your new upgrade and back to making videos soon I hope!
I live in SC. The poison ivy seldom bothers me and I seldom bother it. I've had friends who seemed to think I should drop all I'm doing and eradicate it. It's easier for them to stay out of my woods.
I,We, can tell you enjoy sawing wood..and it isn't a job for you per se..a labor of love..the way you describe the wood cuts..the way you brush the saw dust off and then pour water to highlight the beauty is remarkable to see and share..and this is from a guy who works in medicine..how i got to see a first video of yours escapes me but i was entranced and subbed..so thanks for sharing your love of wood and more importantly..joy of your labor..peace..
going to miss that mill has kept me amused at night for ages watching these videos. So enjoy watching you milling black walnut you just got to love the grain on it.Nice job Nathan
I'm recently new to your channel also. I've been trying to watch the videos in order and came to this tonight. I'm sure hoping you come back and do what you obviously love. I know I love watching it. I'm a Kentucky boy and have been through much of Tennessee. So many beautiful places to ride my motorcycle.
I love to watch you use your saw mill. It reminds me of Montana people have these mills there to save money the smell of fresh cut wood there's nothing else like it
Years ago I worked in a sawmill. Douglas Fir has a lot more pitch than yellow pine. I loved the smell of pine when the sawmill sawed it.I could smell it as you were sawing.
Love your channel and can't explain why. Though I am an outdoorsman I know nothing about working with wood and likely never will. I just enjoy hearing you talk, seeing the beautiful wood and seeing the pretty Tennessee country side. I enjoy seeing a craftsman at work I guess. So, oddly enough I am excited to see the new mill and keep on watching whatever comes next.
Watching this video from a hospital bed Nathan in Western Australia 🇦🇺 a bit of an infection in my body. I’m enjoying having your videos to help pass the long days. Thanks mate I’ll watch for the next one. Hopefully from home. 👍🏻
Hoping you get well soon, and if you type out of the woods sawmill,it has a playlist of all Nathans videos,i've watched them all, there's like 337 of them.
Thought there were going to be some teary eyed goodbyes to the 35 there - but no, not even a few parting words for the dearly beloved and departed! Cold Nathan, very cold!
I am going to miss that mill, looking forward to the new one. I made a piece of furniture, a sideboard from some reclaimed heart pine beams. That pine clogged sandpaper like tar. I soaked it in Simple Green and the pitch just fell off. If the Pinesol is not working well, try Simple Green. Hurry back with the new mill.
Nathan, that is the prettiest Southern Pine grain I have ever seen. You did a great job cutting it to 1 x 6. I'm excited for you to get your new sawmill. I enjoy watching your work. You do a great job.
Just cut up a large SYP top. It was 24" on the large end and 20" on the small end. It had lots of knots due to the number of branches in the top of the tree. I normally don't have problems with the pitch building up on the blade or wheels on my Cooks AC-36. However, this particular log was brutal. Glad it done, going to add some UHMW scrapers on the blade and wheels. Hope it helps. Still curious to see what you are buying as a replacement??? Hope you looked at the Cooks mills... Did you ever check out Tommy Emmanuel??? God Bless, Ken
Stewart Owenby I was just gonna ask if he was picking up his new LT 50 on april 3rd & 4th ??? No sense in wasting a trip to a wood mixer dealer and coming home without something new behind the truck. I can’t believe your doing this to us Nathan!! I bet you sure didn’t like it when you were still LEO and you took someone downtown and put them thru all the questions and they wouldn’t answer ya at all, now you know how wwe feel right now except I’m proud of ya and even happier for ya, your a good man Nathan and deserve whatever your getting!!!!
Some pretty looking lumber. Here in the Pacific NW, The land of Douglas Fir and Red Cedar. we get some wood that resembles that. Fir can be real pitchy too. Good looking planks!
I've been watching your videos for several months. I've worked for our Uncle (Sam) for 48 years and fear walking away in retirement, and have nothing to live for. You've inspired me to get a saw for my own. When these storms role through coastal Florida they destroy hundreds of beautiful trees most of which end up as firewood or pulp for paper. Thanks for the inspiration. Now all I need is to win the Loto to buy my saw.
I like the looks of good pine boards with those streaks of what I call 'fat lighter' in it. Rich looking, sort of like caramel candy.Good looking boards. You got a lot of enjoyment out of that old LT35 but I'm sure you'll really like that new LT 70 that is coming.
I did carpentry for 34 years. Worked with YP Lumber for years. It was BEAUTIFUL wood to work with. Trim work, staircases 1 x 12 & 1 x 8 risers & skirts stands and paints great. Also makes great siding. Love your vids. GEORGIA Boy
I am a woman 75 yrs old, 76 come November. I am sitting in my bedroom at my computer, where I spent most of my time. However, I do spend a lot of the days up & about doing what I am able to do around the house. This computer is my 5th one since about 1995. I have successfully researched all my family/ancestors on my computers. Since I finished that, I spend time looking for good videos to watch, especially Nathan's channel. He is such a sweet young man. Hard worker and loves what he does mornings to night. I think of Nathan even when I am not at the computer, wondering what he is doing today and can hardly wait to go and see. I think it is fascinating to know we are the first ones to see inside the trees, when Nathan gets the first cut! Very special to see when he pours water on them, revealing the BEAUTY that has been hidden inside for decades. I just SWOON! & SMILE
I expect you already know the that wood dripping in pitch like that is called fatwood. Cut it into finger sized bits and it makes a excellent fire starter. Sold at exorbitant prices in outdoor stores. Not much good for lumber since the resin oozes out for a Long time... your aerial videos show a beautiful part of the world for sure. Thanks for posting.
Another great video Nathan. Can't wait to see the new set-up. You could tell how much you enjoyed the change by the look on your face. I think I actually caught a glimpse of a smile there for a second....lol. ; )
Hope to see ya back soon! I've been thinking about starting a sawmill when I move to my new property out here in Florida and your channel has given me must inspiration and confirmation of my thought process. Cant wait till get milling!
A fine tribute to your mill, all the best with your new machine...Can't wait for the reveal! Work safe, keep up the great videos here! Doug@ the "ranch"
I had some long leaf pine sawn up. My sawyer used kerosene to keep the blade clean. My buddy and I were sticking and stacking for about three hours. I had to take my sweatshirt and jeans to the dry cleaners to have all the pitch removed. My buddy just threw his clothes away!
Can't wait to see the new mill. I have to wonder about sawing pine for the last log and the pitch cleanup afterward instead of a last fling with some walnut.
Catching up after doing Income Tax last week... :-| I never thought I would enjoy watching videos of you sawing lumber... Go figure! ; ) Still love the drone footage...! Be safe on that road tomorrow, and I'm looking forward to your next task!
I would have thought that an "old Tennessee Boy" would know about "turpentine" to use on saws when sawing pine logs. We always kept a bottle of turpentine to use on the saws when sawinv pine. Work wonders in keeping the pine pitch off the saw.
I cut nothing but pine, lodge pole, spruce, larch, fir, ponderosa and even alpine fir. Never have pitch buildup. I use ajax or dawn dish soap. Open my water container up give it a few seconds of squirt then top off with water. Enjoy your videos.
I am not even sure how I came across your channel last year Nathan, but, somehow our paths were meant to cross. I am about half way through watching every episode, and try to catch up with an "Out of The Woods Marathon" every chance I get (starting with the oldest first). Your channel has got to be one of the most relaxing things a person can do on a rainy (or snowy) day. And watching what is hidden in the wood for the first time is like watching someone find a gold nugget in a river bed. As my father used to say, "You're an old soul!" Don't ever lose that way of thinking. I can see that it must take a lot of your time to get all of the camera shots, editing etc. just to get everything right. Thanks for the great videos. Can't wait to see what's in your future videos. Doug in Nova Scotia

I'm on my sofa in NE Ohio USA. Am 71, soon to be 72, and also a woman and I too enjoy this young man and his wood saw. Always did love the natural look of wood and the ascent of the south. I trust that the new Wood-Mizer will be bigger and better.
The world would be a better place with more ppl like you. You give me hope. Thank you.
Amen

You all come back now you hear ! Thanks man for the peaceful time watching you saw and learning you gave this way . Cheers mate . From Australia .
...yeah, that walnut wood grain is very beautiful,...but even that yellow pine has a beauty all of its own.
I miss wood working... a lot.

It has been an enjoyable time watching your videos. Will be waiting for more. Am happy that you aren't shutting down . Have a blessed week.

I'm in Western New York thoroughly enjoying these videos. Love your music choices, the scenery, and of course the sawmill.
My 4-year-old grandson was mesmerized watching this video. I may have to buy a sawmill.
Living up here in Connecticut, your videos sure are a nice break from fake news! Thanks Nathan!
thanks, appreciate you watching,
You started not too happy about sawing pine and ended feeling really good about sawing lumber. Nice way to close the chapter with this mill. Thanks for another wonderful video.
I was going to say something similar. He was downright dour about it. By the end of the video, it was a 180 flip. He had fun.
Any mix with nature improves us...
Well no wonder you kept the drive doing this! You found a once in a lifetime gorgeous slab on your first video!! Luck has been your friend.
Great job again. Good to see you enjoyed cutting the lumber and can't wait to see the new sawmill. Keep up the good work and wish ya all the best.

Watching this video was a pure joy.
Nathan these old lt35 videos played a roll in my addiction to Sawmilling. Im now ready to graduate from the Lt15 to an lt35 or lt40. Thank you.

Me too.
I'm recently new to your channel also. I've been trying to watch the videos in order and came to this tonight. I'm sure hoping you come back and do what you obviously love. I know I love watching it.

Brother you have a gift with knowing how to cut wood to yield it’s character & beauty!
Watching this video from a hospital bed Nathan in Western Australia 🇦🇺 a bit of an infection in my body. I’m enjoying having your videos to help pass the long days. Thanks mate I’ll watch for the next one. Hopefully from home. 👍🏻
Here's hoping you'll be right as rain in a short, Kevin.
Thanks Jera I’m trying to get better mate.
thanks Kevin, get well soon brother,
Hoping you get well soon, and if you type out of the woods sawmill,it has a playlist of all Nathans videos,i've watched them all, there's like 337 of them.
I've found that a little dawn dish soap in my water drip keeps the sap off my blades when cutting pine
We've always used diesel fuel
I also use Dawn dish soap with my LT 15.
I love the Red Winged Blackbirds singing in the background. It’s makes a guy wanna live in the mountains of North East Tennessee! Great videos
Great videos. Congrats on the sale, whoever bought it sure got a well looked after mill. Looking foreward to seeing what’s next.
Thought there were going to be some teary eyed goodbyes to the 35 there - but no, not even a few parting words for the dearly beloved and departed! Cold Nathan, very cold!
🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Nice job, I enjoyed the change too. Nothing better than enjoying your work, most satisfying.
Loved the reminder of always paying attention to your project and lumber.
I remember when you first started. Glad to see you are doing well, channel is growing and hopefully you are getting a new saw!
I can see is takes alot of knowledge and skill to cut lumber. I have enjoyed watching you on you tube
Thanks 👍
Nathan, that is the prettiest Southern Pine grain I have ever seen. You did a great job cutting it to 1 x 6. I'm excited for you to get your new sawmill. I enjoy watching your work. You do a great job.

Did you ever check out Tommy Emmanuel??? God Bless, Ken
Very nice, some of the most beautiful tables I've ever seen were built from quarter sawn Pine.
I have a feeling that the trip to Woodmizer is to pickup the upgrade and I can't wait to see it in action
@@1982MCI I think he said in the comments on the last video that his new mill wouldn't be ready by then.
👍👍
Yeah...him n the cat have been talking it over. He'll drag a bigger one home...bet'cha.

Arms Family Homestead suggested your channel and I am so happy to experience your channel.
Thanks for coming
Even your first log was beautiful. Congratulations on getting your new saw.
Thank you
Some pretty looking lumber.
Now all I need is to win the Loto to buy my saw.
good deal, glad to hear that!!
I like the looks of good pine boards with those streaks of what I call 'fat lighter' in it. Rich looking, sort of like caramel candy.Good looking boards. You got a lot of enjoyment out of that old LT35 but I'm sure you'll really like that new LT 70 that is coming.
I just stumbled upon your channel and subscribed and am looking forward to watching and learning from your program. Thank you.
Welcome aboard!
I did carpentry for 34 years. Worked with YP Lumber for years. It was BEAUTIFUL wood to work with. Trim work, staircases 1 x 12 & 1 x 8 risers & skirts stands and paints great. Also makes great siding.
Love your vids. GEORGIA Boy
thanks William,
I am a woman 75 yrs old, 76 come November. I am sitting in my
bedroom at my computer, where I spent most of my time. However,
I do spend a lot of the days up & about doing what I am able to do
around the house. This computer is my 5th one since about 1995.
I have successfully researched all my family/ancestors on my
computers. Since I finished that, I spend time looking for good
videos to watch, especially Nathan's channel. He is such a sweet
young man. Hard worker and loves what he does mornings to night.
I think of Nathan even when I am not at the computer, wondering
what he is doing today and can hardly wait to go and see. I think
it is fascinating to know we are the first ones to see inside the
trees, when Nathan gets the first cut! Very special to see when
he pours water on them, revealing the BEAUTY that has been
hidden inside for decades. I just SWOON! & SMILE
hello, thanks for that comment, made my day,
Looking forward to seeing your new mill !!!!!!!
thanks buddy, me 2 as soon as I decided on it,
Im not in to lumber cutting, or woodworking...Yet. but I sure like watching your videos. Thanks for the great productions. Really outstanding.
I appreciate that!
Watching now, it's been good to you that's for sure. Good luck! And standing by.
yep been a great sawmill,
+1....standing by to see the new get up.
Hope you upgrade your mill. Always nice to see you work with your mill. Cheers from atlantic canada
thanks Eric, appreciate you watching,
I don't know which I love more about your channel, your excitement about milling or your ability to sound like Billy Bob Thornton....
Sounds like a tie 👍
Another great video Nathan. Can't wait to see the new set-up. You could tell how much you enjoyed the change by the look on your face. I think I actually caught a glimpse of a smile there for a second....lol. ; )
You enjoy sawing. I enjoy your videos. We both win. TY!
Hope to see ya back soon! I've been thinking about starting a sawmill when I move to my new property out here in Florida and your channel has given me must inspiration and confirmation of my thought process. Cant wait till get milling!
good deal, appreciate you watching,
A fine tribute to your mill, all the best with your new machine...Can't wait for the reveal!
Work safe, keep up the great videos here!
Doug@ the "ranch"
thanks Doug,
What a revelation...we enjoy watching you saw lumber Thanks for the fun videos
thanks MIke,
Nathan, Once again, great video. Can’t wait to see the new mill. Have a safe trip to Georgia. Looking forward to the next video. Mike, Indiana
Hope the new owner takes good care of her!!!
I have to wonder about sawing pine for the last log and the pitch cleanup afterward instead of a last fling with some walnut.
lest just say Off camera a walnut ended our run together,
Catching up after doing Income Tax last week... :-|
I never thought I would enjoy watching videos of you sawing lumber... Go figure! ; )
Still love the drone footage...! Be safe on that road tomorrow, and I'm looking forward to your next task!
Love the passion of the work. Looking forward to the upgrade.
Man, I sure miss those tree frogs! Looking forward to more of your work Nathan as well as the shirt. Thank you once again for another great video!!
thanks for watching RIchard!!
Thanks for all the great videos buddy!
I hope to have an upgraded one, I truly enjoyed watching your work. But it is always hard to say goodbye to a good friend.
Doug in Nova Scotia
thanks appreciate you watching,
One chapter closes another opens. I been busy with work and have a ton to catch up on!
