If I recall correctly, only 1 Shemp short featured him at the wheel. Even then it only went about 3ft. And on top of that he was STILL too scared to drive it. You can see a rope pulling it. lol

Du ring the war years Moe was giving Shemp driving lesson s when the incident took pla ce, whereupon Shemp never drove again, so whenever th e Stooges had to travel in or der to make a personal appe arance, they would have to t ravel by train because of Sh- emp's phobia. In the 1947 S hemp solo Bride & Gloom wi th frequent Stooge leading l- ady Christine McIntyre, ther e was a scene in which She- mp was seen 'driving' a car, but I 'm sure was being pull ed along; a cutaway scene s howed the same car turning a corner, so I wonder how th ey did that? Can't help but w onder just how the boys got around during the Curly era?

Shemp appeared in t he 1949 Abbott & Costello movie Africa Screams & wen t into full panic mode when he had to be on a raft on a s tudio lake that held only thr- ee feet of water. His other p hobias were-Worrying about being being caught in the rai n, so he always carried boot- s with him, dogs he felt wer- e threatening, so he always carried a stick with him even though he had a dog of his own, plus other fears I can't think of off the top of my he ad. Even though Shemp hat ed cars, he actually dropped dead while riding in one. Go- od thing he wasn't driving or there might've been more fa talities than just him.

The headless robot always scared me when I was a kid.
The effects were amazing for that period of time. That's why it took so long to produce a 17min. clip. Always fresh, always funny. Love them so much.
