I one time forgot my son in the car, when he was an infant. My neighbors kids had let themselves in ( pretty normal thing ) and I got distracted. It took me about 5 minutes to realize something was wrong because I wasn't getting yelled at. I freaked out and cried when I realized it, he was just sitting in the car like nothing was going on. Luckily it was a cool day and the inside of the car was cool as well. But 14 hours? These parents didn't want or need to be parents, and that child suffered for their poor decisions.

FOR AT LEAST 14 HOURS! SERIOUSLY!
THEY NEED TO SERVE A YEAR FOR EVERY HOUR THAT POOR CHILD WAS IN THAT CAR + 25 MORE ON TOP.
IT'S A GUARANTEE THE BABY WAS DISTRESSED FROM BEING ALONE, NO 1 & THEN THE HEAT EXHAUSTION ONTOP OF THAT WOULD'VE EXACERBATED THE SITUATION VERY QUICKLY.
I CAN'T IMAGINE HOW THEY DIDN'T KNOW, NOT FOR A SECOND THAT THEIR CHILD WASN'T IN THE HOUSE, UNLESS THEY WERE INCAPACITATED.

It horrifies me when I think of that 2yr old in that car possibly gasping for air cause its so hot and how thirsty she must of been, as i said, it horrifies me. As a mother myself i always made sure the kids were 1st. 1st to get ready, 1st in the car strapped in and immediately out of the car when we got to our destination, constantly watching them and making sure they didnt get hurt. When it came to water and food they eat 1st then i can sit down and eat after they were taken care of, so this is beyond my understanding as a parent to just leave your child for 14 hrs in a hot car with no regard for her whatsoever.
This poor angel was tortured to death and at a time when we are fighting to continue to keep our abortion rights to save lives these parents are a prime example of failure. If they didnt care for the child why not give her to a family member or put her up for adoption? I just CANT understand how can such cruelty exist, the parents deserve the same, to be put in a hot box for 14hrs so that they can feel what their child felt abandoned in that car.
