couple things: 1. loop out the coolant going into the throttle body as it super-heats the air going into the intake 2. either get a lightweight Li Ion battery, or relocate the battery to the trunk as far inwards towards the backseat as possible.. the current placement is over 40lbs beyond the centerpoint of the front axle which is an absolute atrocious regarding weight distribution for handling. 3. get as much bracing as possible, albeit strut bar, swaybars or floorbars 4. get a short shifter! If you have the 05 base automatic you literally can’t tune your car unless you get someone to make you an ecu harness with drive by throttle body control, 3 grand later
Never heard of thus setup. Can you give me details as to what else I would need for this setup? I happen to own an 05 base... lol Yet I really enjoy this ride.

Love your intro about maintenance especially those with A/T I always tell people I come across asking about my mods is do maintenance and fix anything before modding to enjoy your build... Subscribed just now bro🙏🏼
no i don’t think so. there are ways to tune an auto don’t get me wrong, but it’s 100x more tedious. from what i have gathered from acurazine you have to have a serious know-how on electronics and ecu components
Yes theres a site that will custom make you an ECU harness for Haltech and Link systems. For auto transmissions only. But be ready to spend some $$ as these are custom made and you have to know exactly which Haltech or Link ecu your going to run. Best bet is to ask the guys at halfer land performance as they know all there is to know about J series engines. Ive done a lot of business with them with my 06 Acura TL base. Currently I'm running 324whp NA. But I've also spent over 6 $6,500 to do so from port and polished heads, cams, pistons, connectors, light weight pulleys, new fuel system, etc... I'm running the Haltech R3. These guys are super knowledgeable and will tell you whats what. No sugar coating the truth. The J32A3 is a well built engine and so long as you take care of it and upgrade the internals it will take care of you on the road. Also they have tunes they can email to you and you can load them yourself (so long as you have an obd2 connector with a usb connector which are pretty cheap.) halferlandperformance-com.3dcartstores.com/TuningElectronics_c_13.html
Wats up man good content 👍🏻 I’m new to the tl i have an 05 and looking to do some performance mods that will increase performance and the best on the market for my car. Im currently looking at the rv6 gen 2 v3 (high flow precats) kit “ not a fan of rasp and excessive noise “ also currently looking for a catback exhaust system but not sure which would be the best to go with. i was interested in the atlp quad-tip catback “seems like one of the quieter exhaust” but it looks like it only fits the type-s! I’m sure it could be modified to fit on the base model tl correct? Any suggestion for these mods and catback exhaust system? Thanks
I meant to say 270-280 to the wheel. Idk why I said 170-180.. I’m currently at 264 whp. thank you Christ wot for pointing that out!

Which rear and front sway bar would you recommend?
Thank you bro, this helps a lot, plus it gives me something to look forward too

Hey man nice video, where would you recommend I get a j37 intake manifold and throttle body from? Is there a certain website I should look at?
You can check endlessrpm or heeltoeauto. Or maybe even junkyards
You can put the type s rear sway bar in the base models for a little improvement
Yes but I rather get aftermarket sway bar if I’m gonna spend money
nice work that's again for great content 👏
Thank you for the support man 🙏
I passed emissions with just the two cats ...no problem 👍🏼
What about 08 do I need ecu?
i just bought a 03 type s can i do these mods to it ?
Why do people mod their exhaust and then complain it’s too loud 😑😑
I have an 04 manual , Do u need a type s manual ecu or can u also get a type s auto ecu?
Type s manual or 07 08 base auto ecu will work. There’s a list of part number of ecu that will work online.
20 bucks of gas 🥲 imagine that
Sad isn’t it

Nice vids bro👏 I got an 08 Type s with the 6 speed with a k&n cold air intake. Should I get a tune now or wait until I can buy other mods?
You can get a tune now but it’ll be worth it if you get other mods first
you could get it now if you find a place with unlimited revisions to the tune
Does the precat delete fail emissions?
If it comes with defouler no. If not it will throw a code
Will your car pass emissions ?? @HDua6
I hope so
You only think you will hit 170-180 to the wheel? Why so low ? I thinking in the 200s atleast like 220s+
I think he meant 270 because fbo 3.2 6mt tl’s usually make that
I think he's already dyno'd around in the 260's and he meant to say 270-280.
Yeah did I said 170-180? LOL oops. I dyno 264 to the wheel right now and holding to get 270-280
What would be the best setup for a city with emission requirements??
What all you have done to ur car link websites
I made a video about it. Check out my channel! And I got most of it from endlessrpm and heeltoe
So you don’t need a tune for the 3.7 manifold and tb?
No but you’ll make more use if it when you tune 👌
