    Thanks for your video!!! I just got my 8S 24V 200 amp BMS today in the mail. There were zero instructions. I wanted to personal thank you, for your help. I will install the BMS in a few hours. My 8 LiFeFO4 are 272Ah on my 2K solar array.

      Thanks, in the video I show how to hook up a active balancer which is almost the same as a BMS. Just add the step of hooking up the blue wire to main negative.

    I like the way you did this. This will help me to build up my system, too. I should get the china cells next week. Best idea i got from this video is to replace the bolts the way you did. But i like to have everything related to the batttery inside the box.

    • @grumpysdiy
      @grumpysdiy  2 месяца назад +1

      The battery was stored in a compartment that was temp regulated. No need for extra stuff. The only thing is, without a bms if something triggers a large load it will drain the battery. One time in a rv park they lost power over night and I didn't have my inverter set to turn off if it lost shore power, and it drained my battery.

    with most things lights fans etc. in a camper being 12v other than the AC items while on shore power, why go 24v? is the battery pack only hooked to the inverter to power AC items and not powering anything else? and you have another cell powering the other items?

    • @grumpysdiy
      @grumpysdiy  2 года назад +2

      I ended up with a 12v system. But 24v is more efficient and the wiring is cheaper. Because you can use a lower gauge. When people do this they just add a reducer to power everything at 12v

    • @grumpysdiy
      @grumpysdiy  4 года назад

      I’m sure it’s in the comments somewhere on this video but I’ll state it again. I can control and set tons of parameters from my charge controller and inverter, and I have a cell balancer on the battery. Plus it’s my equipment not anyone else’s and I have that freedom to do so.

      If you don't know what size BMS you need just take the watts of your inverter and divide it by the voltage of your battery bank. example - 3000 watt inverter / 12v bank = 250 amp BMS or at least 250 amps worth of bms's.
