- Some of the best dads army I've seen & its a special blue peter appearance! Very Rare!
The Sketch centres around a large painting some school children have made of the characters of dads army & leads to some pretty humorous comedy when captain Mainwaring & Sergent Wilson walk along it as if to check its authenticity!
Its worth watching through the cheesy 70's blue peter presenters to get to the scene itself but you've gotta love those shirts!

It's amazing how committed Arthur and John were to their roles.
I was an avid fan of Blue Peter back in the hay day of the 70s, but I will confess, I've never seen this before... Absolutely bloomin brilliant!!!!
Dad's army is probably the best TV sitcom ever made ..nothing comes close to it ... sadly missed ..but never forgotten ...they left there mark for all of us to enjoy!
No, LAST OF THE SUMMER WINE is the best and you can tell it was always hilarious. It lasted 38 years on BBC 1.

Originally broadcast 22 February 1973, halfway in-between the end of filming of series 5 (08.12.72) and the start of filming of series 6 (The Deadly Attachment on 22.06.73).
That dress lol! I was 10 and I remember that style well. Teacher Miss ingles Garrowhill primary Glasgow wore this style along with hot pants - I remember as a child thinking how ridiculous she looked - I wonder if she looks back with embarrassment- she really ought too

I grew up with the original Blue Peter team and after watching Peter's face and body language have only just realised he was swinging his ego big time........on the foundations of a kid show. But with all that said and done he gets my thumbs up.........Oops!
