7:49 I really want indian parents (specially my parents!) to understand wasting Rs. 20 lac+ for marriage is unnecessary. I do not need a house for my parents, but if they save that money for their healthcare expenses, it will be of great help for us. Unnecessary photoshoot and food is where they are ready to spend their hard-earned money because they think their respect in society is directly propertional to the amount of money they spend in their children's marriage. It is a sad reality.

I'm 39 and I bought my house at 25 and repayed the loan by the time I was 32. I went onsite and saved as much as I could. Now the problem with the younger generation is two fold imo. 1 there is huge discrepancy in earning. Some are very intelligent and earning a lot at very young age and some are average and they get frustrated with that. 2 is comparison with others on social media. Most compare how others are living and get depressed that their lives are not up to the mark.
Going forward this comparison with others is going to have a very bad effect on mental state.
My team members who are 25-27 want to spend 1 lac on iphone when their salary is around 30-40k. Buy a 15k phone and reduce your expenses and buy a house. If you have your own house you can be assured that you can atleast earn enough to have food. Without a house you are asking for trouble.

Totally agree with you sirji ... From my experience I can tell that for marriage to succeed in long run you need a brand new home with ownership of both the couple + a baby in next 3-4 years.. this 2 things will give you a sense of belonging and will form a base for strong bonding.. believe me without this 2, love alone won't last longer and a big fight someday is enough to blow away that love

Sir, I'm gen-z and 22 years-old and brought the property.
However, one advice is very true in this video whenever we're purchasing something we should approach only those things which we can afford. I wanted to buy a big house but that was not coming in my budget, so, I thought let's purchase whatsoever is coming in the budget because something is better is nothing.

Summary - Make priority to buy house, Spend less than 5lacs in weddings, and use that money. If you don't live there, then may rent it. Provides social security.
Save money to buy a house at normal price. Not high aspirations of 1-2 crore villa. Instead start at 50lac house. Use 10-20 lac savings as down payment. Take rest as loan.
Buy at good location, not in ghost malls or buildings, or under construction for long.

Millenials ke saath bhi yeah problem hain... Salary utni hain nahi. Parents ne toh haath khada karliya hian... Padaya likhaya khud hi kahreed lo boldete hain.. In-laws toh paise ki baat karte hi patli gali se nikal lete hain.. Humhari beti kharch hogai bas unko sukoon hain.. Ab hamari jimedari khatm😢😢. Aur wife bhi utna nahi kama rahi ki down payment kar nahi sakte. Baki sabko toh lena dena nahi hain. Rent dena is so much painful.. Aur value bhi add nahi hoti.. Life maine.khud ka ghar in big cities is a new sukoon

A very informative video! My parents have followed all the things that uncle has said, avoiding unnecessary expenses throughout their life and have recently bought a house in my name with zero debt. I am the only child and am incredibly lucky to have such thoughtful parents in my life.
Due to the thought process they follow, even I am not a spendthrift and think about me and my future children before investing. Some may find it a bit too much, but I believe that today's savings are tomorrow's earnings!

Thank you for making this video sir! You are absolutely spilling truth bombs here…Saving on marriage expenses can be a good head start to buy or invest in long term assets. I am 30 now and I got married last year and also bought a house with my husband. Having a good job and also having a good saving strategy between the couple or as a single person can help you in long term. The world today will tell u to buy a lot and splurge on unnecessary stuff especially for women but please only buy if you need something not because u desire validation or to give a an instant dopamine.

I am 1989 born hence not gen “ Z “ generation hence I was having influence of my parents while buying a my first home at age of 26 years. I bought my first house i.e. 2 BHK for 90 lacs in mumbai Kandivali West in year 2015. It was 26-27 years old property. I was having salary 47 k and in hand was 42 K, my dad paid half of the amount of the price plus extra 7-8 lacs paid by me and rest was home loan. The moment I have taken a home loan I was agitated to boost myself in career and all the time I used to think of home loan repayment. Because of this, I am currently able to have 36 lacs CTC at the age of 34. I am able to secured one property in Mumbai, currently beside our society other buildings are going under redevelopment hence probably tomorrow my society if go under redevelopment then can able to get 900 carpet three bhk for cost of 2.5 crores. My wife is also having similar mindset , me and my wife’s together income is 60 lacs hence we thought of booking second house in mumbai only and booked the same for 1.92 crores 770 carpet 2 bhk in ultra luxury project. Current market price is 2.2 crores for this new flat , we invested 1/3 rs amount as down payment for this new house and planning to close the new home loan of 1.25 crores in next 4-5 years.
So, home loan made us to be concentrated or be focused on your career rather than wasting money on luxury things . Hence , take a home loan and buy your own house

They think if we purchase a flat, it means, I am separating themselves... How can we make them understand? Moreover, few parents are too toxic! If we are taking any help from them, they used to taunt us badly. If we have self respect I must say, purchase a flat first from your own money then plan marriage, else stay single always
