Hey late reply here friend! I preferred and prefer Daniel. But if he never came back and Ashe stayed I wouldn't have lost track of the band. I enjoy the singing in this song immensely. But Concealing Fate is a masterpiece and Daniel helped write. Ashe didn't. That being said I watched Ashe perform most of it live once and he was fantastic. So I wish he would scream a bit or find something similar to do. But he rocked it. And in person he was so nice. I saw them in Miami FL of all places years ago. I went up all excited like wearing my shirt to meet them thinking they would enjoy this Miami boy wearing the limited release Tshirt from a package not sold to Americans (I loved Concealing Fate so much I paid for this ONE package). Surprisingly the band was like "Oh yeah, cool, uh...." But Ashe was like "Wow we have a real fan that's great man did you like the show? How did I do for part 6?" And I was floored. I told him the truth, he rocked it, and said I'm happy you can take the band in any direction and we took pictures. I remember being upset the rest of the band didn't care. I paid massive postage for that! Hehehe. Then not long later, Ashe was gone. I'm happy Dan is back. I love him. But Ashe was definitely a good performer and good man.

Ashe is probably one of the greatest singers I've ever seen live. One of the few in the metal community who can command a room with only his voice and no instruments. I got to see him do warm ups... That was eye opening.
This band is genius. As a musician, song writer, composer of 17 years I can contest to how hard it is to arrange different signatures together in cohesion as to have it make sense to the listener. Bands like meshuggah are great in their own respect. However, some people can perceive them as being redundant, as its usually looped. Its great to head bang to if that's what your in the mood for. All music has a purpose and is served to the listener dependent on the the nature of your mood, style, or taste. Nothing is "better" just preferred. "True" musicians that are not conceded will have a level of respect for all colors of music. For me, bands like Tesseract hits home. It has elements of many styles and has tuns of moving parts that keeps me tuned. If you consider yourself a "true" musician, then you have to at least respect what they are doing, even if you don't prefer this particular style. OUT!
Meh, this song is essentially weird-time signature nu-metal. I have to learn it for a buddy and it's just annoying af. The riffs are almost boringly simple, it just appeals to math nerds.
Dude really said Meshuggah is looped lmao By the way, this (and Meshuggah) are 4/4. Not an odd time signature at all. You might perceive it differently because of the different rhythms, but it's 4/4. It sounds even cooler when you listen to it in 4/4 context, because instead of hearing the same "odd" riff played over and over (probably why you hear it as "looped"), you hear a different riff every time because your mind can "accent" a different note every time it's played.

After the Burial did it for me. Specifically when their guitarists began to show their amazing abilities to create melodies and outright beautiful licks on top of the constant heavy polyrhythms they have always had. They achieve all of this WITHOUT settling for clean vocal sections that seem like a lazy way to be labelled a "progressive metal" band. The album Wolves Within is a masterpiece. Disconnect is a song that changed my perspective on djent and even metal as a whole

I always come back to my origins and the band's that make remarkable work like this one. This one song hits differently since its release and everytime I listen to it through the years. Perfection
I've seen them live today in hamburg and seriously those guys are beast, especially the singer does it so perfectly i was almost eager to catch him just doing lypsinc... but my jaw dropped after I realized he really sang this way. Incredible,
He is incredible! I went to Karlsruhe, and decided I need to see them again in Cologne, haha. He really delivers something special with his vocal performance.
Thanks to streaming I was exposed to TessarecT and was amazed how Nocture is so really lifting my listening experience. Jay Postones is so excellent in its own rights. I thought I heared it all with Gavin Harrison but there is further to experience. When I first heared the song from the streaming plattform, I was not sure if the song was sung by a women because it was so on high notes at the beginning that I needed to see the video to get the correct association. And honestly Ashe sounds so amazing. All of them do!

Big fan of Tesseract right from the start but love them even more since Ashe joined the group. Saw these live in Manchester on the 19th and was so awesome. It sounded incredible amazin live. Need to go see these live vocals they sound just insanely good and to meet Ashe the vocalist after the show was well good nice bloke too. Going to see the band again in Feb :-)
I can confidently say that the moment at 3:14 is heights above anything else i have ever heard. This moment, how it's engineered sonically, how the transient jumps at you, and the guitar butters your ear drums ... and Ashe's falsetto? How it starts as a scream and then that gorgeous falsetto joins in a few bits later ... im sad that my musical abilities don't allow me to do this shit. But im thankful for Tesseract. Praise tesseract pls. praise.
This song is really great, it's been stuck in my head for weeks. Just saw this video today. That is some impressive range the vocalist has, I'm stunned.
Honestly I'd give Polaris another listen or two if I was you. It's an album that that takes a while to absorb. As with all TesseracT albums you also need to listen all the way through, the way it was meant to be.
For an amatorial drummer like me, formed with the "simple and rounded" fills of Portnoy, Peart, Harrison ecc..., the first 13 seconds of the song are a nightmare. So slow, but so detached within hands and foot, and from the hits on the guitars
Just saw these guys at Glasgow supporting Karnivool on the weekend and I kid you not they sound absolutely perfect live. Had a chance to meet the vocalist Ashe after the show and he's one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. They are definitely worth seeing live!
went to see the mighty Devin Townsend earlier this year, and this band supported him. My first experience of TesseracT was live and I was extremely impressed. listening to them more and more ;~)
Aww, man, this singer... He's golden. I'm really sad that he's gone now. Though I'll still give TesseracT a chance with Daniel, "Altered State" raised the bar almost impossibly high. In any case, I'll have to keep up with Ashe, and whatever TesseracT does, I just hope to god they don't choose to blend in with all these other "djent" kids nowadays.
This band has balls more than a deathcore band the message and the instrumentation make the difference the voice is exceptional and the time pattern make me have a seisure

This is a killer song and I think the vocals are awesome. It's about time there's some good clean vocals in metal. I still like the other stuff but this takes ball in my opinion and they nail it.
I wasn't into these guys right away just because I was used to harsher vocals, but one of their songs from Polaris recently appeared in the 'Got Djent?' playlist from Spotify and I was like "wtf, I need this in my life".
I feel like I just got the rugged pulled out from under me..... I came across this band only 3 days ago and INSTANTLY fell in love with this song. I downloaded the entire album and then find out the vocalist is gone????? I heard the replacement/retread vocalist and it's a major step backwards, IMO. It was the vocals that got my attention, and I'm a drummer!!!
Tyler LaGrange Like I said, I just discovered this band in the past week or 2, so it's not as if I'm all broken up over the change. I was absolutely blown away by Ashe's vocals, and the writing is unreal on this album. Not sure if Ashe did the writing, but if so, he's irreplacable from that standpoint. I've seen some videos with Daniel and he's definitely a good singer. As long as they don't go back to the screaming, I'll give him a chance(I hate the screaming LOL). As a drummer, Jay is enough to keep me interested. I LOVE his playing.
I love a clean and bright vocals fussed with heavy djent sound of guitars, heavy bass and drums.... instead of complain every band, enjoy the differences between!
the leads in this song are flawless. I've seen so many guitar covers and no one plays the leads and I can't figure out how to play them either. No tabs. Some straight 5th dimension skills.
I listened and liked this song years ago on RUclips, but forgot it and couldn't find it...until now. Thanks other RUclips channel who mentioned this band and jogged my memory
I wish he joined the band again... I miss this voice so much It's not the same in Voices from the Fuselage.. In TesseracT it just.. it's literally a mind orgasm whenever you hear his cleanly smooth high pitched voice in conjunction with all of the other instruments.
@@_downyblue you're stereotyping metal by saying that, metal isn't categorized by the vocals, never has been. Some genres are, but not metal as a whole. Listen to Thornhill and ERRA's clean vocalist, theres plenty of metal out there for beautiful clean vocals.

This is players music, and for the music minded. To listen is to understand, to understand is to appreciate. No surprise that the majority of negative comments probably come from metalcore douchers that love cliche verses and pitchy auto-tuned chorus'. Tesseract has restored my faith in music. I would love to see them with Oh Sleeper, Proceed & The Cold Harbour (UK). Lineup of the Century.
Daniel Ryder Hey man, I love this band and actual metalcore Like kse, parkway drive, abr, and as I lay dying. That auto tuned shitfest like bmth needs to stop though.
is it just me or is Altered State the best metal album of all time? Seriously, I can't enjoy any prog metal or djent the same way after hearing that album. Nothing compares
I do admire guys who create such music but still I admire much more those who want to listen to such stuff. They should pay people for listening to this.
I listen to a lot of Thy Art Is Murder and Lamb of God and after having seen so many bands ruin a solid melody with eary, almost autotuned clean vocals, i can honestly say that this band is one of the few that manage to properly blend clean and heavy. I love it.
Okay, this is the first time hearing this song and band. This was the first song that came up when I looked up the band. I love heavy music to death, but every time I hear a good riff or nice sounding band, it's always ruined by the sound of some dude getting murdered over top of the sound. I know the metal genre is known for being angry, but I'd much prefer to hear the lyrics and have them tell a story or a message than just listen to the guttural noise of some guy with tuberculosis. I'm glad I came across a band that proves not all of metal is like that stereotype. I had almost lost hope finding a new band like this. If anyone knows of any more bands that fit that, please let me know. :)
Austin Stahley I don't see unclean vocals as conveyance for anger alone. Sometimes it conveys frustration, desperation, longing, sorrow, joy even. For me, after years and years of listening, unclean vocals are just a way of adding power to any emotion being conveyed by the music and lyrics
this happens to be a great song and I love this band. Everything doesn't have to be scream and growl, although it's needed from time to time in certain songs. Nothing wrong with just singing.
This song has to be one of my favorites this year. Fucking awesome! Very soothing compared to the chaos in modern metal, which I love but I fade to this band when I need to calm my mind.
This is the first song I've listened to from this band after I asked someone about it as they were wearing a shirt from one of their tours. It feels like a very good mix of contemporary metal with melodic elements similar to that of Rush. I like it.

Climb
You're dehydrated
Fly
Your wings are jaded
Cry
You're enervated
Die
For what you believe in
Try
You've nearly made it
Why?
You're the plague within my dreams
Soaring through an atmosphere of an adequate lack of strength
And we're responsible
The truth is that it will end here
Denial's an impairment of your fear
Can we save us from ourselves?
This is the saviour and its form
You can break through
Wake me up
Tell me it's gone
False hope sells lies I won't buy
We are still one
Let's attempt escape
Melancholia will feed
We'll admit defeat
The Vox Populi will cease
The air is thickening
We are drifting
What's done is done
One more second chance would be enough
Only on the brink can we see so clearly
Wake me up

This was the song that made you go "oh yeah, "djent" can still actually be good." Life time Tesseract fan here!
This is phenomenal. "Altered State" was a masterpiece. "Polaris" was a snoozefest. Bring this vocalist back.
Honestly I'd give Polaris another listen or two if I was you. It's an album that that takes a while to absorb. As with all TesseracT albums you also need to listen all the way through, the way it was meant to be.
Recently discovered this band and I'm obsessed with their music!
The rythym and the groove of this song is immaculate
HOW DID I NOT HEAR THIS BAND UNTIL NOW? AUGH SO GOOD. HIS VOICE IS LIKE SILK!
My jaw dropped when the singer "Ashe" opened his mouth! What a voice!
Their sound is so good!!!! So full. So large. I haven't heard a band sound so big in so long. And I have been listening to prog for quite a while too.
went to see the mighty Devin Townsend earlier this year,
and this band supported him.
My first experience of TesseracT was live
and I was extremely impressed.
listening to them more and more
;~)
Some sweet polyrhythms going on here
Esta banda es la combinación mas perfecta de complejidad y musicalidad. Sus canciones son verdaderos orgasmos auditivos.
Fuck off dude,deathcore rules

Uhh, not exactly sure what you meant there. I’ll leave you to your cave, and your neighbors, Mr. Flintstone.
@@nfrnalDstryr Lol deathcore it's dead
@@prodbyjeremiah97 no its not its just evolved into even better shit like aliencore and incorporated into slam
@@prodbyjeremiah97 clean vocals sound so gay.. some bands can pull it off but i couldnt just only listen to that
Génial !! là je suis a fond, super musiciens, super batteur, super voix, super music !!!
One of my Bands of 2013. Looking forward to seeing them support Karnivool.
This is revolutionary.

This is a killer song and I think the vocals are awesome. It's about time there's some good clean vocals in metal. I still like the other stuff but this takes ball in my opinion and they nail it.
"wake me up" sequence easily the best part of this song
Never ever any adverts before videos on this channel. Thank you for not selling out.
Patience is a virtue
He couldn't sing in key live.
That's a shame.... The album is amazing!!
Nathan Redmon Ashe O'Hara really did sound great on this album, but I think Dan Tompkins will be back with a bang.
I can definently seeing this band get pretty popular in the next 10 years.
Checking in
Well guess what...
This is forever a masterpiece.
Love the harmonies on the heavy parts! This is rock music ✊🏽🫡
Awesome video. I'm so glad these guys are back in action.
I love a clean and bright vocals fussed with heavy djent sound of guitars, heavy bass and drums.... instead of complain every band, enjoy the differences between!
WAKE ME UP
CAN'T WAKE UP
Somebody pointed that out now i need that mash-up.
the leads in this song are flawless. I've seen so many guitar covers and no one plays the leads and I can't figure out how to play them either. No tabs. Some straight 5th dimension skills.
Wow! First time ever hearing from this band. Amazing!
God, his voice is amazing
596 people don't know what a musical masterpiece sounds like...
I can hit _every_ syncopation in the intro slapping me knee. AMA
08.06.2019 - Comendatio Music Fest, Portugal 🖤
One of the best days of my life. Saw Tesseract live. Fucking beautiful.
Love this band so much. 🖤
I listened and liked this song years ago on RUclips, but forgot it and couldn't find it...until now. Thanks other RUclips channel who mentioned this band and jogged my memory
this song is a masterpiece immortalized by jays drumming
I'm so excited to see these guys for the first time this September.
Leno1971 they're the greatest!!! ♡
The show was, well, like you said, the greatest! Shame they were the opening act, I would have loved a full 2 hour show. Maybe next time.
Incredibly epic and beautiful, strong and groovy as hell! So fresh and inspiring, thanks for that! Keep up the good work! :)
Love this song!!! Love this band!!! The vocals and arrangement are phenomenal.
I wish he joined the band again... I miss this voice so much
It's not the same in Voices from the Fuselage.. In TesseracT it just.. it's literally a mind orgasm whenever you hear his cleanly smooth high pitched voice in conjunction with all of the other instruments.

This is the first time I've laughed out loud at a comment hahahha
Am I the only one who loves his voice? It's..Surprisingly beautiful.. In my opinion.
Don't hate.
yes
How dare you love his voice.
its the most unmetal voice ive heard as a new metal guy but god i love it
@@_downyblue you're stereotyping metal by saying that, metal isn't categorized by the vocals, never has been. Some genres are, but not metal as a whole. Listen to Thornhill and ERRA's clean vocalist, theres plenty of metal out there for beautiful clean vocals.
@@sarcasm4371 i said that because he sounds like christopher cross, not because i have any prejudice against metal singers lol. dont make an argument where there isnt one.
Ashe is brilliant! This is their best album ever.
This band, though metal has had a lot of thought go into everything, and is very well pieced together, and that is what I love about them. Really want to see them live
This song is pretty badass, This guys voice is amazing .Gonna be checking out more Tesseract stuff ;)
Or guys who worship Cannibal Corpse.
Daniel Ryder Hey man, I love this band and actual metalcore Like kse, parkway drive, abr, and as I lay dying. That auto tuned shitfest like bmth needs to stop though.
Feels great to discover more 'djent' bands
Not just djent bands! But good djent. Not that boring stuff.
Not just djent bands! But one of the earliest djent bands.
is it just me or is Altered State the best metal album of all time? Seriously, I can't enjoy any prog metal or djent the same way after hearing that album. Nothing compares
This is one of those songs that is so close to perfect that it never gets old
I do admire guys who create such music but still I admire much more those who want to listen to such stuff.
I love it.
Video Caption: Bearded man trips on shrooms in middle of nowhere with djenty-ass music?
Ha!
exactly :D
Those are some great vocals.
Absolutely love this band, especially this song!!!!
Austin Stahley try whitechapel, they employ some beautiful cleans in their songs
AILD2710 Omfg lol
AILD2710 Haha you savage
Austin Stahley I don't see unclean vocals as conveyance for anger alone. Sometimes it conveys frustration, desperation, longing, sorrow, joy even. For me, after years and years of listening, unclean vocals are just a way of adding power to any emotion being conveyed by the music and lyrics
Dylan Martyn
It is pure emotion.
this happens to be a great song and I love this band. Everything doesn't have to be scream and growl, although it's needed from time to time in certain songs. Nothing wrong with just singing.
Its just like sex. If u dont use some lube, its hurting both.
This song has to be one of my favorites this year. Fucking awesome! Very soothing compared to the chaos in modern metal, which I love but I fade to this band when I need to calm my mind.
His voice is so beautiful♥️
Full clean vocal...
Full djent...
nice...
unique...
smooth...
different...
Harmonies...
etc
This is the first song I've listened to from this band after I asked someone about it as they were wearing a shirt from one of their tours. It feels like a very good mix of contemporary metal with melodic elements similar to that of Rush. I like it.
