rewindhuizing I’ve had an agent since I was 5, so I got mine right when I started! But it’s totally up to you, some people prefer to wait a bit to get an agent, whereas some people feel like they need one from the start of their career. It’s totally personal preference 😊

Itz Grace if money is an issue at the moment, then maybe keep an eye out for castings on casting director’s twitter accounts! They are posting a lot at the moment especially during lockdown. Not at all! It wouldn’t stop you acting completely as they can do wonders with makeup on set and sometimes they actually ask specifically for people with acne if that’s what the job is asking for. It might stop you getting some commercials if they want people with clear skin but don’t lose hope! I’ve been on plenty of jobs where people have acne and it’s not held them back x

Alle Cott hey Alle! Are you talking about the website Backstage? I’ve not used it personally but I’ve heard good things.f I find Spotlight and Casting Networks are great for castings if you’re in the UK. I’ve found the best way to get auditions is by having an agent as they get a lot more of the castings than if you didn’t have an agent. Shows will normally put out a casting breakdown saying what characters they’re looking for and then agents can put their clients forward for roles. Hope that helps!
The best thing is to do your research. Look at their clients, and then look at their T&C's. If they are asking for an upfront payment, then they probably aren't legit. An agent should only ask you to pay to go onto a casting platform like Spotlight (in the UK) so they can put you forward for jobs, and then they'll take a commission from any work you get. I'm with Chrystel Arts Agency and they are honestly fab!
