You know the black girl with the glasses from the show Black-ish? She was from Plano, Texas up the street from me ... ANY PLACE is ideal to pursue what YOU want to pursue. Don't let judgemental media and people with no knowledge justify what is and what aint right. Couple other actors and singers where from they small tiny towns of Terrell, Texas ... It's not where you are from, it's how you pursue getting out there and place the competition. Begins with removing that mindset you got ;-)

The issue with me is confidence, I can act with cameras alone but the second someone watches I worry and panic

Yes, I agree. Most casting calls are for over 18 because a lot of restrictions come with casting minors. My best advise would be to get an agent. Let me do some research on this and I'll post a video soon! 😊👍

It’s always a pleasure and unfortunately no 😩 lol but I’m thinking about booking a trip to LA Valentines Day to treat myself and also check out some work out there before I decide if I want to move out there because I stay in ATL and the film industry is also booming here I currently do tons of extra work on the CW show “Legacies” at the moment.
Omg! Yes! I hear ATL is a great place to work. I think you should get an agent here and in GA and stay in GA until you have a great resume because there's a lot of competition here vs GA.

I’m moving to Florida next year so as of now I’m looking for little jobs such as short films and commercials so I’ll have some experience during bigger auditions when i try and find my agent. So these are great!

I love acting and I really wanna be in Umbrella Academy season 3 , when i was little i used to act out alone pretending that im talking to somebody and i even faked cry! I really want to act and im 13.
That sounds like so much fun! You should look into online acting classes, maybe your school has some free ones?

But I heard that the Umbrella academy might start filming at the beginning of 2021 so i might try to find script role and try to audition!!!😃😭 its kinda weird because i never acted before.. but I auditioned to Disney Channel and Nickelodeon in 2019 and i got in!!! I was supposed to act but my dad didnt wanna pay because it was too much money for the acting and
modeling lessons that i needed to pass.I WAS HEARTBROKEN😂

I want to apply but idk if to apply without my parents permission and tell them right after if I get in. I’m just scared to get yelled at for wanting to get closer to my dream career.

I wanna act so bad but im too scared and nervous, i have anxiety and when i get too scared i start crying and having anxiety attacks and i dont wanna start crying when i get an audition or something
That's something you can absolutely work on. :) You should start off by practicing monologues in your room, then in front of friends/family and then in an acting class!

Hi I wear hijab and I adore acting but idk how to get any auditions because all the websites liek backstage I have been on, they make you pay to sign up for an audition :( any help would be appreciated, I live in the uk
Hi there :) The only UK one I have seen is POP casting for background casting. I suggest checking out Backstage casting's yt because they recently did an interview on it.
The thing is I don’t live in a area that has opportunities like other places so I really don’t have a good chance of getting auditions and aren’t available in my area and I’m too young to live by myself but this is something I really want to do!!

I also want to act but I live in Kansas and movies and films don't get filmed here and my mom doesn't want to travel far but I am practicing to memorize scripts and mock auditions since I'm a minor I can't travel by myself l😥
That's great that you are practicing! Keep it up and once you are able to, you can drive yourself to set. Meanwhile, see what small projects are local near you to develop your skills and resume.

You would need to get your headshot, resume, reel and research agencies near you. A lot are accepting submissions via their website.

Not very likely, but if they do, it will always be stated in the casting call before you audition. Most of the ones I mentioned in this video are for smaller budgets and local hires.

I prefer backstage between the two of those. Backstage is good if you are starting out.

Most causing websites ask you for photos and measurements of your body. If you're not comfortable with it, you shouldn't do it. But it is very normal. What is not normal is for nude photo or payment to audition. A subscription fee is normal. Paying more than $30/month is not.

I'm not sure if they are accepting international submissions. I am younger than 13, but drama/acting teachers have said I have a potential in tv/movies, do you think it would be hard to find a casting call for my age?
Hi there! Yes, it is a bit harder for people under 18 but still doable. If you are under 18, you will need your parent or guardian's permission, a work permit for each state you work in, schedule time for school, and only submit to work that is explicitly for minors. Hope this helps!

Yes! A few of these should be useful foe Texas. Not sure if you watched the entire video but there are a few I mentioned are applicable almost anywhere in the US.

Hi Trenice, there are so many ways you can act. Have you though about making your own work? Training is very important. If you can't go to a class, try researching different acting techniques and act with friend. In the future, when you can, get into a class or hire an acting coach to help you get even better.

Hello I am from Baltimore, Maryland and I want to take my acting more seriously, but I don’t know where to start? Especially since I feel like many things aren’t located near me. The closest is probably like New York or DC. But I do plan on moving within like the next two years.😩

For now, I would highly suggest to work with local filmmakers and get your resume and reel together. NY of course is a great place but if you can, start making connections over there and when you can finally move, you will be able to get more work because you already know some people. You should look into the sites I mentioned and ask around for any remote opportunities.

Hello Shalena, :) As an extra, you would experience what it is like to be on set but you won't get any speaking time on the camera. I have a full playlist on being an extra if you want to see what it is like. I would suggest acting classes and getting some acting experience as background work does not go on a resume. Since you are 13, I would suggest to heavily involve your parents/guardians in everything you do related to acting and have them assist you or supervise whenever you are submitting.
I’m from Australia and there is like no Netflix shows or movies really ever filmed here I’m with a agency but they don’t reach out to America like stranger things or movie productions i look at project casting but do you know any good places to find any
Having an agency is great! I am not familiar with other countries casting process but I am doing research on international casting. What if you want to be a model but all of the modeling agencies you have applied to are not reaching out to you..
I don't know about modeling but if it's like acting, I suggest doing more research to see why they might have not reached back and then submit again in 3-6 months.

My mom has a Canadian citizenship but we live in America. If I want to act for somewhere in Canada can me and my family like drive up there just so I can act in Canada? sorry if this doesn't make sense.
You would have to see what the laws are for CA and international employees. If you are under 18, you are very likely going to have to get a minor workers permit on top of travel documentation.
im having a problem i tried applying for stranger things audition and its having me fill out something which i was doing until it asked for waist size sleeve size inseam size like i dont know all of that and i dont have a measuring tape to do that and asking if i have a car which i dont im 17
Hey! I recommend getting a soft measuring tape. You can probably get it at the dollar store or amazon. If you don't have a car, that is fine. Make sure you are reading everything as it will let you know what is a must and what is optional like having a car usually is.

Hi there! The ones I am a part of are mostly LA and SF based I would suggest searching for PA Auditions, or films/creatives and then the name of your city and some should pop up. I am also a part of Women in Theatre, Women in RUclips and Latinx Theatre groups (if you are latinx) that are global. 👍😊

Hi there! You shouldn't get a casting website for the US unless you are here in the US. Most casting websites hire local people only. Anyone can make it in Hollywood but you would have to figure out your path. All are different. What I suggest is training, experience, and to of course live in LA.

I live in the middle-east but I have no agent and I am 12-13 and I have seen a few roles for my age but I have to pay and a question I have is..Do your parents pay for a flight to the set or does the producers and directors pay for you to fly?
Hello 😊 you would have to see what each casting call says to get the answer. Most do not pay for travel which is my they hire local people. If you are under age you will also need a work permit for the state you work in plus any other visa/immigration documents needed to travel and work in that country. I highly suggest getting started locally and once you have a local agent that can help you out, you can book jobs in other countries.

I only have experience as an actor in California but whener I do find any info for international castings, I will be sure to make more videos on it, meanwhile keep on doing research to see if anyone else has more info. I do not know of any casting agencies/websites that have open calls/self submissions from other countries.

Hi there! I don't have any personal experience, but from what I have heard, you would need to move to the US or make a name for yourself in your country first and then have your agent or manager help introduce you to the US market.

I actually haven't used it. I don't really know of anyone who uses it either. I will take a look in the future. I have received a lot of comments about it.

Hey! I honestly don't have a real opinion because I have never lived there but I know that LA has more TV and comedy and that is what I am more interested in. There is a great episode on Audrey Helps Actors about acting markets and what actors should be in LA vs NY. I highly recommend it!

Hi Angelina, I don't see casting calls for US Native Speakers very often. You should go for it :)

It takes time. My biggest advice is to get training and so a lot of research on what is being made around you.

You should consider what your resources are and see if they are any free on affordable classes you can attend. I have videos on some. I do hope to help you through my videos 😊 but I am not an acting coach.

What ages can you book? (Both parents are ok with this)
If you are under 18, I'm afraid I don't know how it works since I don't have children and started working in the industry after 18. I mostly see castings for over 18 on these websites but it might be because I'm over 18. I suggest talking to your parents and seeing if they are willing and able to help you get acting representation (an agent) and they can guide you through how to get auditions. I do know there are some under 18 castings on websites but if course you need a minor workers permit that will need to be filled by your parents.
@@BelgicaPaola my parents are fine with this but they aren’t willing to help me in any way. They basically don’t care what I do but I cbat bother them. So I really want to become an actor but I am under 18 with no experience

Hi Lindsay, all reputable agencies are trusted by Disney. It is more about asking the agency you audition for if they have the ability to send you out for Disney castings. As far as how to find an agent, you would need you so some research on the agents in the nearest large town or submit to agencies in LA that are open to representing people from out of town. Before you can submit to agencies like that, make sure you have a resume, headshot and reel so they can take you seriously. Since you are in plays, ask your directors and fellow actors if they are represented by anyone or know who would be a good person to talk to regarding being represented. That's a great place to start!

Hi Abby, it depends on where in IL. If you already know there is work in the area, then I would suggest Backstage but I don't have any experience specifically there.I post open calls as much as I can. Also, if you know of any film schools or theaters you can always have your parents call and ask if they are looking for young actors. The first step is to learn how to act so when you get a meeting with an agent they can see you are trained and talented.

Hello :) There are a lot of obstacles I would imagine, especially now with covid. I would suggest to start where you are, get a local agent and have them help you learn how that is done. I have only worked in the US so I don't have personal experience getting an international agent. Best of luck!

I only have experience as an actor in California but whener I do find any info for international castings, I will be sure to make more videos on it, meanwhile keep on doing research to see if anyone else has more info. I do not know of any casting agencies/websites that have open calls/self submissions from other countries.
