Pretty smart product. Seems solid except for the AC adapter. Thanks for sharing with us all!
The adapter is a problem, but the rest of the fan is solid. Not sure why it is louder and uses more power than the other one.
omg thank you for sharing the power draw for each speed!
You are welcome
I just bought this exact one and thankfully I have many batteries for this from the 2 amp, 4 amp and the 6 amp so I am good to go. You are right I do not like the adapter and much prefer the plug in in the center of the battery hook up. Thanks for the video as I couldn't figure out how to plug that adapter in. It took me a minute to figure out how to tighten up the dang thing so it wouldn't fall over. Thanks again.
Thanks for watching, glad I could help.
I got excited when I saw cannon, but maybe one day we'll get a real 18v cordless cannon out of them.
Going to guess someone (probably in a southern state) is working on that, and a case of beer, right now
18v I have. Thank you for the review, Fernbark. Stay safe and stay cool
If you need a big fan, this will get the job done, thanks for watching.
@@FernbarkFrist My friend says to try out the water misting fan. They just came out with a whisper model. Basically acts like a swamp cooler. He says it is excellent and reasonably priced.
@@shovelhead8 I have the water mister in the smaller 18v version from two years ago. Works pretty good.
The AC Adapter is a deal breaker. Easy pass. Thank you for the review.
Most Fans go from Off to High
still hate it.
Which is dumb.
If I remember right, it's not by choice. Something about the way fan motors get their power, they have to start on the high speed or it'll fail or take a long time to get up to speed.
It’s because fans draw more power, locked rotor amps, when they first start. If low was used there is the possibility the fan wouldn’t start properly and could overheat.
There is a very real reason why they put them in this order.
I just recently bought this fan, and have exact same gripes about it (and same overall positive impression too); Stepping through the fan speeds is completely backwards from how you'de expect. But more importantly-- RYOBI switching their design in this refresh, to using that extra powerbrick for external power, seems like SUCH a step backwards. I thought it was a bit weird when I saw it with their new 40v fan, but I didn't realize they also refreshed the 18v one with that too. By the time I found out, it was too late for me to find any of the original 18v ones in stock.
They have to know that this is way less convienent. I'm guessing this was intentionally done to address some potential safety issue or something.. Like maybe they ran into some issues with the old ones.?
Anyway, knowing that I will definitely be losing this cord at some point (lol), got me thinking about how to keep fan/cord together. I think may have found a super easy solution, so I thought i'de share. I cut two little squares of heavy duty 3m adhesive velcro; Put the one half on the side of the powerbrick, and the opposite half on the side of the housing that sticks out the back of fan. Here's a 20 second video clip.. It'll make more sense than me trying to explain 😂

Anyway, thanks for doing the review on this
Thanks for watching and the suggestion
Would you recommend this fan for a home gym? Looking into the 18v series that i can use at home and outdoors away from a power source.
Sure, it throws a lot of air and lasts a long time on a battery.
Gotta figure out a way to zip tie that brick adaptor to the fan itself and just an extension cord like 99% of users would off the bat.
Already way ahead of you.
But I still say it is a crap design.
Velcro. allows it to be removed when needed.
What sucks about these reviews is you can't feel the air to make your final choice. I've fooled with specs on fans before I purchased the Dewalt 20v fan online believing the specs of it. It was like 120$ and when I put it up against my Milwaukee I was disappointed. People even told me it would push more air and didn't
What you is very true.
Why buy a battery operated fan and make the review all about plugging it in?? Battery life would be more useful info
He gave the wattage at each setting and then went over the run time on different batteries, did you watch the video?
