      Oh yeah, nice to hear from you, seems all is good. i was looking for a misting fan and was surprised to see your video, i did buy one from Amazon today. i live in hot las Vegas so i need this. almost to hot today to drive the slingshot. my 80 year old bod just isn't what it used to be, as a child i never noticed the heat. anyway thanks for your video and past slingshot videos.

    How effective a misting fan is depends on the humidity of the environment it is used in. Lower humidity means better cooling, so if it works reasonably well for you in Florida, it should be amazing in Arizona.

      @micahnightwolf you said it right, low humidity you feel the effect more cooling. The fan puts out the mist and blowing air, the results of comfort depend a lot on how humid the air. Overall, it is the best product you can get for the most comfort you can receive. Should work really great in Arizona.

    How long does the battery last

      There are no batteries, this is powered up by a USB charger and cable all the time.

      Amazon says the charge lasts 9.5 hours. (This is going to be very long and technical if you want the detailed explanation, lol):
      It probably has a cylindrical lithium ion (they're usually blue) battery hidden in it somewhere like my small handheld fan had in the handle. I'm sure it has ultrasonic discs for the misting, that type battery is usually used with them.. The advantage of those over brass mist nozzles is discs produce a finer spray (think aerosol versus someone spraying you with a misting spray bottle). You can get a little closer to this thing than you would, say, a Ryobi mist fan or Ego misting fan and not be drenched.
      The downside of ultrasonic discs are the temperature of the water. While you can get the water very cold as you would with a regular misting fan, the difference is that ultrasonic discs actually use *evaporation*. They vibrate the water that runs over the top of them, agitating it just enough to make evaporation (the foggy mist you see).
      Extremely cold water doesn't evaporate as well no matter how much you agitate the water. Near-freezing, it won't produce fog at all.
      So while you can put refrigerated water in the reservoir of this thing and maybe even some ice cubes or ice blocks small enough to not interfere with the submersed pump hose, just remember that if the water's way too ice cold (ex: if you set your water in the freezer a while before you pour it in the reservoir), the misting may not be very profound until the water loses some of that cold. Simply adjust by using fewer ice cubes the next time until you get the perfect temperature. Cooler water definitely helps but too cold will keep it from misting. I'd bring extra ice in a yeti type vacuum tumbler or cooler to add as the day goes on.
      If you can find a small freezer pack (they're usually blue, they have gel inside them) that can fit in the reservoir, you could carry some of those with you in a cooler to add throughout the day, too). To recharge, I imagine a power bank or small Jackery-type battery would work if you have no place to plug into.
      Keep in mind you don't want a freezer pack or large ice block pinching, blocking or otherwise interfering with the hose that sends water from the reservoir to the fan.
      The other downside of ultrasonic discs is they are electric, they have a wire running to them. Something has to produce the agitation so they require electricity. What this means is that when a fogging or misting appliance's disc's break down, the fog attribute no longer works. With brass nozzles, the worst that can happen is they get clogged (you unscrew, rinse out and screw them back in). There's always a good side and a bad side to every technology.
      I like this item because it's small and condenses and carries easily. Other mist fans usually don't fit in the reservoir and are awkward to carry.
      I had a handheld mist fan with two of the ultrasonic jets and it worked well but the reservoir was IN the tiny handheld fan, so water didn't last long and the fan wasn't strong. This thing is relatively strong if it's close enough to you.
      One more tip, before it's put away for the season, set it out for a few weeks (not on the reservoir) and let water evaporate out of it before you put it together and shelve it for the winter/spring.
      {resource: I researched the ultrasonic discs several years ago as I was going to invent the perfect setup to keep people super cool outdoors without drenching them, using only ice (or gelpacks) and water. Unfortunately, the cost of the equipment is too high to make it marketable and there's a lot of stuff involved. I use my own clunky setup for myself sometimes if I feel like hauling it all out somewhere, lol. I should've married a machinist or engineer!!}

    Only drawback is micro chg takes 9.5 hrs to chg fully. Not good. Needed type C chg. Nice otherwise!
